Flies for targets

I am somewhat new here but I do not see many talking about shooting flies for targets. A number of years ago when Beeman was a name and I was shooting my R1 a group of us would bait flies. A short length of dowel rod or even a stick stuck in the ground with a dab of hamburger meat on the top end. It was great fun to sit back maybe 50~75 feet and wait for a fly to land. Would not take long. We would take turns shooting and if your shot touched the meat you did not score. Even more fun arguing about you touched the meat, no I didn't.

Quietest, and most accurate

I've been shooting and hunting all my life, but never with airguns. Do you advise starting with a simple break barrel rifle, or jumping right into PCP with all the related paraphernalia?

Main use would be for general plinking and target shooting, marksmanship training, perhaps some small pest control and light hunting. I'm not a competitive shooter, but accuracy is important and would like to be able to consistently achieve 1" groups at 30 - 50 yards with practice. I prefer classic looking rifles over the modern chassis/bullpup/AR styles. I also need back yard friendly noise levels, and this might be the most important thing. It needs to be as QUIET as possible. Cost isn't the biggest concern, but is a factor. I know break barrels are simpler and cheaper. But what is the quietest and most accurate without making a huge commitment?

SC Johnson Paste Wax Discontinued!

Just found out Johnson Paste wax that I have used on the metal and wood of my guns for years has been discontinued. Such a great product stopped with no reason to the public. Not advertised for guns but one of the best gun finish protectants on there. Was sold in a big can at about $6 in stores. Now leftover cans going for $100 on EvilBay! WTF!!!o_O

PCP Rifle  NLA Edgun Lelya 2.0, Huma Reg .22

Looking to trade my Edgun Lelya 2.0, with Huma Reg. It is in excellent condition, stock is perfect. It is very consistent, was previously setup to shoot 21 grain slugs, but now turned down to shoot pellets JSB 18 grain at 880 fps. Hammer adjustments is all that's needed to change it back. Reg is set at 135 bar. It will include the stock and BAT moderator. With the BAT the action is much louder than the pellet leaving the barrel. Very compact and easy comfortable to shoulder. Ambidextrous stock and cocking levers. Also includes 7 mags. Will ship in original box.

Can include multiple different optics depending on the trade or price if intersted. Im open to cash offers, but really looking for a trade. Willing to trade up or down for PCP's. I prefer .25 or .22, but will consider others depending on the offer. Let me know what you have

What's included:
-Lelya 2.0 .22
-Installed Huma Regulator set at 135 bar
-Stock moderator
-BAT moderator
-Fill Probe
-7 magazines
-Factory Box

RTI  Rti Prophet

Hi everyone,

I'm planning on buying a .22 air rifle.

I prefer compact models and came across the RTI Prophet series.

Now I have the option of purchasing either the Prophet1 Compact Performance or the newer P3 Compact.

Which do you think would be the better choice?

Also, does anyone know if you can mount a larger bottle (for example a Leishy 350cc) on the Prophet Compact models?

Best regards,

Max

RTI  Real world Mora footage.

If you've seen my previous videos and posts of the RTI Mora and it's ability to deliver unmatched accuracy and consistency during indoor testing and practice sessions but wondered how this would translate to a "real world" setting (ie. outdoors, in the wind) I recently just shot 3 videos of just that. Each video depicts a different bench technique and you can see them all on my YT channel, but I'll only link the one of the technique that I actually use in competition.
The video is sped up 3.5 times so it's just over 2 minutes long.

FX  Impact M4 Slug Testing

Had some fun at the weekend doing 100-yard slug testing with my .25 M4 (bog standard except for 600mm slug-liner). The wind was 5-10mph, varying from "11:00" to "1:00".

Results are below - the difference between the 32gr and 34gr H&N HPII's was interesting, but the results seem to speak for themselves - 33gr ZAN's for me going forward!

IMG_3502.jpg

A couple of follow-up groups with the ZAN's confirmed it (with an occasional flyer on each that I'm blaming on the wind!!! ;) )

PCP Rifle  NLA Edgun Leshiy 2 .30 450mm

Hello I am thinking about (mainly) trading one of my edguns, being that i don’t use them all and someone else could enjoy it! This one is my 450mm .30 cal. It is very accurate and reliable. I have really only ever shot 44.8 jsb around 870 fps. Has one black slug magazine, the carbon fiber hand guard, 300cc bottle, vertical ergo grip, and a carbon fiber blow back shroud that goes over the barrel (made by another member), and i also have a spare 250mm .30 barrel that’s included. Moderators, and scope setups can be discussed as well including the thermal. I am mainly interested in trading for a .22 cal. However .25 would also be considered. I am interested in m4 impacts, pantheras, things of that nature. Thank you!!

  • Question
why do people that say they don't know still

try to answer questions, wouldn't that be called guessing?Does guessing really help? I guess it if your guess is the right one,I am just guessing because it could be wrong .My guess is the person guessing just wants to be to have the freedom to guess. Why guess, lookit it up...."Just the facts, ma'am":ROFLMAO:

N/A  Another newbie looking for advice

Hi ya'll. I've been lurking here for years and am finally deciding to get into pcp's. I'm a long time gun hunter and shooter, do some reloading and have shot a lot of 3-D archery. My old bones are making 3D difficult and I'd like to have a shooting sport I could do on my small hunting plot if I didn't feel like putting all the gear together to go to the gun range. So, here we are. I imagine that some folks may be annoyed by these "where do I start threads" but we all have to start somewhere, so I appreciate your help and patience.

First, I want dependable stuff. While I like to tinker, I do not want to have to be working on stuff all the time to keep it going. Of course, my biggest concern is compressors. I will never spend much time rebuilding compressors ; I think that would kill my interest in the sport. Is it reasonable to think that a moderately priced unit (GX 3-I for example) would likely be reliable for filling 1-2 bottle fed rifles a few times a week ?

Next for a gun. I'm looking for light, reliable with high shot count. I'm talking a plinker, walk-around squirrel gun that I'll also shoot paper with out to maybe 75ish. I'm torn between a budget rifle to see if I really like it or jumping into a higher-end rifle as a do-all , at least for now. I like what I see with the shorter Stoeger XM1 in 22 with a 40ish regulated shot count. I've been in the archery rabbit hole for years so I kinda know where this is headed, lol. I like the bottle version of the FX Dreamline as well but I know there's a bunch of good choices in between these two.

I'm trying to be smart about starting out on this but there are so many options it's almost overwhelming. The amount of knowledge people have on this site is tremendous and I appreciate your input.
