N/A  Cleaning a new barrel

There are shops that claim that they test every rifle before it leaves their store.
So I wonder if they are cleaning every barrel before the test, or if they are just shooting through the grease?
I never hear anything about them cleaning the barrel before they test the rifle, just the claim that they test every rifle.
I’m not complaining about it, just wondering about it since it seems weird to test a rifle without cleaning the barrel.
Does anyone else wonder about this?

RAW Rapid  Rapid Air Weapons leaks

Have not had the rifle out in several months. When I took it out of the case yesterday I was surprised to find the bottle empty. Tried to refill it it but the air was leaking out. Thought it might be the bottle O- ring so I swapped it out for a new one. That did not fix it. I know the leak is somewhere around the fill nozzle. Anyone else had this problem? What did you do?

N/A  Inside a Chinese Carbon Fiber Bottle (is this normal?)

Hi,

I have just received a 0.36L CF bottle to upgrade the small AEA HP SS tube.
First of all the seller lied and while he told me that all the bottles were made
during the past 30 days, the CF bottle had a manufacture date of 06 - 2023.
Already nine months old and the re testing period is 3 years.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006221649697.html

Anyway, I have inspected the inside of the bottle with a small camera and you
can see the video at the link below:

I am no expert in CF bottles and this is my first one, but I would like to ask you
if this looks normal? The inside surface is very rough and there is some
black stuff/residue inside as well. Carbon fibers? Not sure. On the outside
everything looks fine as well as the threads.

Any comments?
Thanks.

Air Arms  Custom TX200 Semi Carbine .20 Build

Having some fun always wanted to have a 20 caliber TX200. My friend Mark and I continually hype each other up for projects like this

I have machined the .20 LW blank to be a length of roughly 11.75" and am using a Carbon Fiber Shroud.

It will have a magnetic latch, I have to chop the underlever and rethread it for the end plug. Either that or chop it and ream out the arm for 10mm to insert the magnet directly in the lever, but I believe I'd prefer the adjustable end plug for fine tuning the magnet.

It currently is at 10.5fpe w/ 13.7gr JSB, the spring kit installed is a weak old Vortek kit that I'll be replacing w/ a new spring from Tom soon or maybe I can dig one up in my stash.

Anyways, here are a few pictures of the journey.

N/A  Any new compact bullpups coming out?

Haven't really been following airguns much anymore. Shoot my Evol Mini and Notos quite often still but still might want a small bullpup. Kinda miss my Taipan Shorty as it was a fun little gun. Not sure if there's anything new coming out with Shot Show and IWA being recent? My guess would probably be nothing but maybe I missed something.

Brocock/BRK  Getting the next generation interested

My sons asked if he could go shooting with me a few times. I decided to let him have a try, he certainly showed he’s been paying attention and showed excellent discipline. Although he can’t fully shoulder the rifle yet he definitely adapted his own style….. well it worked for him 👍🏼👍🏼 he chose my .177 BRK ghost along with the .177 pathfinder out the cabinet and we headed down to our local range ( humberside shooting ground, east yorks, uk )
I checked the zero on both rifles then let Louis have a try with the ghost. He was over the moon to hit the target first go. He was confidently knocking 20mm spinners out at 40-50 yards. I set him a challenge to try and hit the bull on a paper target out at 50y. The result…… his smile says it all !
Safe to say his new obsession is going to cost me 😂

Air Venturi  PCP setup for iguana problem

I have a Gamo .22 Swarm break-barrel that I use for iguanas. I want something both stronger and with the benefit of rapid follow up shots, so a PCP is my next purchase. I called Palm Beach Air Guns who were super helpful, and they suggested the Air Venturi Avenger in .25. Just want to get your opinions before I go pick one up. I have a UTG Bugbuster scope on the Gamo which I assume I can swap over to the Venturi without issue?

My property and my neighbors are infested with iguanas. Dozens of 5+ foot with tail iguanas on any given day. It's absurd. Even while I was hunting them, it barely put a dent in them. I need to bring in more manpower.

I also have a coyote problem but I don't think a .25 is adequate in that regard, and going to a .30 seems excessive for iguanas, so I'll have to figure out something else for those.

Anyway, I am debating .22 vs .25 and also the pump system. I assume I'll need to budget about $300 for a Yong Heng or such compressor? I do have lower back problems so I don't really want to be pumping by hand. Is this the best option for an air pump? And this Air Venturi Avenger sounds like a good option for me? Appreciate the help all, I don't know much about Airguns to be honest.

TopGun-Airguns is proud to announce our new JB Ally line of Carbon Fiber Air Tanks!!

IMG_0898.jpg

TopGun-Airguns is proud to announce our new 700cc x 300 Bar bottle for FX, Daystate, Brocock, LCS, Rattler and many other PCP rifles. These are from the same manufacturer that provides bottles for Brocock, Daystate, FX and many other high quality PCP Airguns and are DOT approved. This series of tanks called the “JB Ally Tanks” are available in 300cc/480cc/580cc/700cc x 300 Bar and 6.8L & 9L in 310 Bar and can be found at our website here: https://www.topgun-airguns.com/product/ally-airgun-tanks/

These tank provide a greater number of shots, due to their higher max pressure and larger volume.
Increase in shots is calculated by Increase in pressure (assuming filled to 300 Bar, refilled at 120 Bar=1.35x) times increase in volume (depends on size of bottle being replaced).

480cc/250 Bar bottle =2.0x as many shots = 1.35x1.46
580cc/250 Bar bottle =1.6x as many shots = 1.35x1.21
700cc/600 Bar bottle =1.35x as many shots = 1.35x1.0

FX  Ok finally got to the shooting range with the DRS...not good ......

Well finally got to the range today but was short lived because the gun leak air. Plus another thing is this rifle very very load without a silencer on this thing!!!!! Like 22lr loud!!! I forgot my Donny FL but did remember I had my buck rail it quite it down a lot!!!! Then after a few more rounds of shooting it started to leak. So packed up left went home disgusted. Accuracy not great at all!!!! Right now looks like shotgun pattern without a silencer. With the buck rail the accuracy improved a little. JTS pellets not good. FX pellets were a little better not great. But anyway.... Oh yeah FX crown single shot trays do fit into these rifles great .

Airforce  Why buy Airforce instead other PCP brands

Hi air gunners,

New air gunner here

grew up with multi pumps and I've had them all

Moving to PCP soon for everything from pest control, to hunting small game, to ringing steel on the range at .25 or .30

Question to all you out there with much more experience and sense than I do:

Why would anyone purchase an Airforce Talon or Condor over something Like JTS Airacuda max?

I get that if you have Taipan Veteran budget it wouldn't matter, and in a perfect world I would have every airgun ever made and don't have to choose or ask a question like this.

But just out of curiosity, why would anyone get an Airforce air rifle, over other air rifles if you only can have one? (I'm asking because I'm that kind of guy, I don't like to have one of everything, I would just like to have one)

I think something like the Airacuda max is beautiful to look at, not single loaded, and deadly accurate (doen't have walther lothar but it seems to stack pellets regardless)

So why would I pay double or triple for an Airforce Condor for example?

Thanks everyone!

Coyote problem, or blessing?

I just saw a coyote or maybe 2 of them eating a small dead rat I left outside. The coyote appear multiple time during the early raining morning.

5:06:00 walks by camera but doesn't eat the rat.
5:07:42 comes back and eats the rat.
6:04:40 comes back again.
6:05:40 triggers the camera again but the camera is slow so it almost out of view.

Is it only 1 coyote or 2? Should I eliminate it? It is a little big to easily put into the trash can. A disposal problem? Any guess on size, I'm guessing 30lbs+. I have a lot of rats in the yard is it better to have this coyote around to keep the rats somewhat in check? Do they hunt live rats? I don't have any pets or little kids to worry about.

If termination is in order I have a 0.25 34g JSB 890 fps at the muzzle and the shot would be at 25 yards. From reading about max's stories they are much easier to spook than raccoons. I have to open a door to get off the shot, it may hear that and run off.
