Does anyone else shoot in less-than-ideal conditions?

Hi folks. I'm purchasing a Nitrogen tank filled. My plan is to charge my airventuri 7 liter bottle with nitrogen every other fill. The nitrogen has 0 moisture, this should keep everything nice and happy!

I am using JSB Redesigned 25.3 grains and JSB 18.13 grains in my FX Impàct MK II AND Daystate Red Wolf since 2016.
I found Redesigned pellet quality was much better in 2018 compared to what we get these days.
What are the best pellets these days for competition?

I have a Ruger Impact Max Elite .22cal, The catch cast into the end of the chamber below the hole that the air transfers from the chamber to the barrel broke free and now the barrel no longer locks shut and Umarex will not sell parts to fix it. Since it's cast into the overall chamber it isn't repairable, the chamber /receiver would need to be replaced for the rifle to function so...I would be interested in selling the rifle to anyone needing other parts to make their Ruger usable or sell me their rifle that has the part I need to make mine usable again. My rifle has very little use and is in near pristine condition other than the problem I described. Anyone interested in either scenario please contact me and we'll work something out. Dumbing a bunch of stuff over the next few days, keep an eye out. I bought the scope last year from Camera Land and it served on a Ruger 10/22 takedown Going with a Vortex solar red dot sight. There is a slight scratch on the removavle sunshade that I did while I was messing around with the takedown. Clarity is phenomenal, i tried taking a couple of pics of the reticle with my cellphone but of course they are blurry.

Just power tuned this .25 Vulcan and took it out to a buddy’s place to test. We had some wind conditions as it called for winds up to 14 mph today! Sighted in and took target to 80 yards. 5-shots later and I knew we had a winner:


Took it on out to 101 yards and shot 5 consecutive 5-shot groups:

So I just got my replacement air Venturi avenger, because my first would not group to save its life. So my question is should I clean the barrel before I even shoot the first round through it, and if so what do you guys use that is oring safe toy clean barrels. Also should I clean with barrel on the gun or disassemble my rifle and remove the barrel and take the o ring out of it while cleaning? Thanks for the help.

Hey guys .... A month or so ago I posted a thread asking you guys which gun would you choose the HW98 or HW80 for FT and bench , I think everybody unanimously shouted out for the HW98 so I went ahead and bought one In 177 cal , so I have to thank you guys for steering me In the right direction cus this break barrel Is a winner at 48 yards , I Installed a BSA Outlook 4-12X44 scope for the $$$ this scope Is hard to beat the glass Is very clear at full magnification , Illuminated and springier rated the gun and scope are an awesome package .
Shooting H&N 8.64gr field target pellets at 48 yards Im getting groups like this in windy conditions ( see pics ) same kind of groups with the JSB 10.34gr .
I love my PCPs but I cant seem to be able to put this thing down .

What is wrong with me

Realizing that I am somewhat anal, for some time, I have wanted to know how my rifles all compared relative to report output.

A few weeks ago, I purchased one of the <$30 decibel meters on Amazon and ended up returning it because it just didn't work consistently.

Last weekend, I purchased a Reed R8060 (shown) decibel meter, and set it up inside my basement to where I could shoot through an OPEN exterior door into a hillside about 60 yards out. The basement is large and quiet, eliminating any wind noise or other variables often found outside. The decibel meter was mounted on BOG tripod, with a BOG Death Grip tripod immediately behind it to where the rifles would all have a distance to the meter of 1' to 2.' I then proceeded to fire three shots from each rifle, looking for consistency in the readings, and if consistent, recording the loudest report. Interestingly enough, I didn't have any rifle that produced a decibel level extreme spread across the three shots of more than .2 decibels.

I'm not really certain what difference all of this information makes, as I won't shoot any of these any different, trade them, sell them, or whatever as a result of the tests. I just thought it would be interesting to know. I did look up the accepted normal report of a .22 long rifle as a comparison, and it is said to be +/- 147 decibels.

This exercise was simply another good excuse to spend time with my rifles. The quality of the Air Arms products came through once again, combined with the shrouded barrels and Donny FL Sumo moderator - the most quiet of the pcp rifles, and while certainly not the most powerful, they have proven time and time again to not only be exceptionally accurate, dependable and maintenance free, but extremely deadly.

I'm certain many of you own many of these rifles set-up nearly the same. I thought you might enjoy seeing the results.

If you've ever heard a rabbit scream then you know...

All rabbit season, I'd see a couple rabbits down near our road(where I can't shoot them) but that was it.
I didn't see/hear a single other rabbit on my property all hunting season(11/5-2-15).
Previous to that, my then 5mo puppy, Amos was found tearing open the back end of a rabbit stuck in our border fence. It had clearly died earlier than when he found it(rigor had already set and it was very cold). He ate as much as he could before I found him and brought him in.

Fast forward 16mo, my now 2 dogs, Amos(GSD) and Bobbie(Rotty mix) were outside when I heard the unmistakable scream of a rabbit...
I ran out with a light and found the dogs at the fence line....with a pile of rabbit fur at the fence. I figured too bad for the rabbit until one grabbed at it and it screamed again.
A closer look revealed the back legs of said rabbit still stuck in the fence, and very much still alive! I backed the dogs off and freed the rabbit from the fence, much to their dismay.
Maybe it got away clean, maybe the coyotes got it after all that screaming, all I know is my dogs didn't get the satisfaction and now they really have the taste for small game. If only the were retrievers, lol.

At least I know I need to look for rabbits a little harder on my property!
Right now I'm feeling kind of stupid for not even see a single rabbit all season...

The absolute worst trigger I ever had was on a marlin .22lr semiauto. It was sooo bad and uncurably designed I vowed to master the rascel. Owning that gun lead! me to a deep appreciation for owning at least one gun with an awful trigger. The technique developed doing so is unattainable any other way. It makes my good triggers feel great, and my ok triggers feel good. I'm all wind guns now. Won't mention which of my guns is the present guru, but is is a notoriously bad bullpup trigger.

That's why I hooked mine up to a large 24 V 200Ah LiFePo4 battery...

Looks like strelok is officially banned by US government! Not sure when the app will be killed but at very least it won’t get updates. It is unfortunate for us but there are alternatives, none are as user friendly and feature rich but such is life.
