PCP Rifle  NLA WTT/WTS Brand New FX Leopard .30cal Sniper Bottle Version

Recently received a new FX Leopard .30cal Sniper Bottle version and would prefer a .22cal setup of the same. If you have a .22cal Leopard Bottle of any length and think you might like a .30cal instead I'd love to work a trade with you. I would also consider a trade for an M4 Impact of any caliber. As a last resort, I would consider a sale of the gun at my full purchase price. Only offers I'll consider are the ones I just listed above. Thanks and anyone interested will receive replys!

Thanks,

What does the indents on the pellet tell you? Marauder accuracy issues and uneven pressure in barrel

Hi all. I think I know the answer but I am not an expert.
I have a custom Gen1 .20 Marauder. Its not accurate. So I decided to look into it and see why.
With the barrel off ive pushed pellets thru it both ways and I get the same result each time.
On the head the flat spot goes from none to more. See pics and video.
Any saving this?

Daystate  I do not know if should be angry or happy.

A couple of years ago I bought a Wolverine HR (non HP) in .25 Cal.

This rifle is beautiful, comfortable but VERY untrusting. Sometimes accurate, many flyers.

Last night I was shooting with it and the story repeat again.

This morning I walkup and thought: "I do not remember to have recrown that Wolverine".

Went to the kitchen prepared the coffe, and while the coffee was on process I went to the Wolverine.

I removed the shroud and then I saw it:

The barrel HAD NOT A CROWN AT ALL !!!

I took the magic drill bit. Very carefully (the 700 cc bottle goes far ahead of the barrel) I made a crown. Then with a normal drill tip I made wider the hole of the cap of the shroud, and then re-assembled the shroud.

Went shooting and the beauty became a monster of accuracy. Pin point at 65 yards

So:

1.- I am very angry with Daystate because releasing to the customer a rifle with a barrel without a crown; and

2.- Very happy of having now a beautiful and super accurate rifle.

N/A  Corroded valve removal

Has anyone ever had any luck removing a corroded valve from an fx cf bottle? My bottle is leaking and I bought the tool to take the valve off to replace the o-rings but its so badly corroded that I broke the bottle removal tool and I also took it to a shop where they broke their tool trying to take it off. I tried wd 40 penetrant and soaking it in there for an hour, still no luck. I already bought a replacement bottle with a stainless steel valve but I'd still like to repair this one if possible. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Daystate  Regulated my Daystate Red Wolf

I bought a Red Wolf for the german market and it's limited to 7,5J. The second limit is, they are only allowed by daystate to be filled to 180bar, although the bottle is rated to 250bar. I filled the gun to 182bar and did a shot string down to 118bar where it showed low pressure in the display. That was hours of work but it did outstanding 493 shots. That's 7,7 shots with one bar of air, crazy. Then I did some math which showed the following:
RWalleSTABW.jpg

Best string was from 150-140bar and now a big research begun. No regulators for the Red Wolf available. It seems, noone did it before. I looked over the exploded views from nearly all bottle guns Daystate produces and found out that the bottle and the O-Ring for the bottle of the Wolverine were the same size. Bingo! Then I ordered a Wolverine bottle reg from Huma-Air and it fits perfectly. Set it to 150bar and it settled at around 148bar with a very fast recovery time after each shot. Love it. Doing the math again it looks like this now:
RWgeringsteSTABW.jpg

Perfect. Now I can fill the gun to 250bar and shoot it down to 148bar and I can do nearly 900 shots with one fill with a perfect deviation between the shots. The gun looks like that now:

Love the Red Wolf!

Air Venturi  Avenger air leak problems?

i know this has been talked about many times. But with that said I have not seen a true fix, unless I missed something. These
are just too good of pcps to not find the fix. Some on said it might be the brand of o-rings there using? Does ANYONE truly
know the TRUE fix to this problem. I have one that pumps up just find, but overnight it has lost the pressure. I know that has
been addressed before. But I can not seem to find the TRUE FIX for the problem. Some one Please address this & put it to rest?

CS4i? Is there an issue?

Just taking a break from the mower and went to charge my Krait, plugged in the CS4I, which only has about an hour on it, and the inverter fan kicks in then turned on the water then hit the go button. Shut down immediately! Hum...
So I hook up 12V thinking the inverter might be bad? Nope, well it could be i guess but still no workie.
So open it up looking for the fuse like on my other compressor (which is in Oregon and I'm in South Dakota) and no fuse to be found? Okay we'll I'm going to try it again just cause I'm not sure what to do anyways. Guess what worked just fine!! Don't know why, don't care long as it works but any thoughts on what might i look for if there is a next time??
Thx, Greg

Air Venturi  Refilling an Avenge X (complete Newbie)

Forgive my ignorance. I have short term memory issues and thus the apologies right out of the gate if this has been answered repeatedly. I have searched for info but may have already forgot what I've read because honestly, that's something that that happens. I've been researching for a few weeks now and was just about to make the purchase of an Avenge X and misc. associated gear, thinking I had things lined up in my head of what was needed. But, just to be certain, I asked via customer service chat at Pyramyd Air about what size bottle I should be looking at for an Avenge X via a used Scott 4500 psi SCBA bottle as I may have access to a few (I'm a retired/disabled Paramedic). However he stated and I quote "The size of the SCBA will not matter. With the high fill pressure of the gun, even a tank filled to 4500 psi, you will get less than 1 full fill of the gun. A compressor is a better option for the Avenge X."

This is blowing my mind. With everything that I've watched and read over the past few weeks, I was under the impression that once I had the SCBA refilled, I could use it to refill the rifle multiple times. Granted, I had no clue just how many refills might be possible, considering all the possible variables including but not limited to original starting pressure, how many shots taken, altitude/barometric pressures, etc..

Can the wise and sage ones one here maybe give me the real skinny? Clue this old man in to what's really going on? Was this just an attempt at getting me to purchase a high dollar compressor right off the bat or is this information correct? Something doesn't seem correct here.

Thanks for any advice you may have.
John

Repurposing a junk washing machine.

So ,today I gutted my mom's broke down washing machine. I was like,I gotta be able to do something useful with that hunk O junk!
After removing all its innards and leaving only the shell intact, I was off to tractor supply to pickup 4 pine shaving bales.
I really had to use some prying force to cram those bales into the washer, they are tight.I used some cardboard from a delivery box for now to put targets on till I get to see how it holds up this coming weekend. The bales are 8 cubic foot size and i stretched 13 gallon garbage bags over them to help control shavings lose a bit from all the shooting.
I may end up getting a piece of paneling and cutting out a slot to slide it up and down to help hold the shavings in as the bales break down from being shot.
Im into it for about 25$ before paper targets but I have tons of those.
Soo,what do you guys/gals think?
😀

Benjamin  Custom-stocked .25 Marauder find

1750690048955.png

I wasn't looking for a Marauder (in any caliber), but she's one of those finds you (read that, I) simply cannot NOT glom onto. 💸

Thankfully, and as is often the case, the 'good' condition description on AoA's pre-owned page was quite conservative; the very good plus to excellent minus actual condition the first of several pleasant surprises. Unfortunately the photo doesn't do justice to the lovely figuring in that custom walnut stock, and the flip side is at least as impressive. Wasn't till I removed the stock that I discovered who built it, thankfully the inletting was signed in black marker 'James Lithicum 2010'.

Think I've seen that name mentioned on this forum, however I've had no luck confirming that with the search function. Hopefully someone reading this can shed some light on Mr. Lithicum.

Sexy Beast came to me with (also) a shroud extension, like the chamber-tube extension, that I removed to shorten the 47" rifle to 'only' 43" and hopefully solve a vertical-stringing accuracy issue driving me nuts.😡 Neither did the trigger-adjustment I left to a Marauder guru buddy (at his insistence) resulting in a 2 ounce first stage followed by another two ounces to a glass-like trigger-break. Nor did testing all the usual-suspect pellets🥵, nor did as good bore and crown polishing as I could manage.🤬 Just as I was about to give up all hopes of accuracy, for some reason that still remains a mystery she magically came around!🤯

Several hundred rounds of 25.4 grain FX-branded JSBs later, she's (FINALLY and STILL) stacking them at 50 yards.😀 But as to be expected with 25.4s, any amount of wind conditions open groups exponentially as ranges approach 100 yards. However, on the few minimal-wind opportunities afforded so far it has become obvious she's capable of consistently averaging 1.1 to 1.3 MOA at 100 yards in minimal winds.

So after enough hundred rounds to develop confidence in Sexy's (continuing) accuracy, I set about monkeying with the excellent (factory) power adjustments in hopes higher velocity might reduce the 25.4 grains wind-sensitivity at extended ranges. Given the extended chamber-tube volume, my hope was to not sacrifice shot-count per charge despite (also hopefully) increasing the velocity closer to 900 FPS than the 854 FPS average she was producing over a 21-shot power-band from a 200 BAR fill, displaying a 29 FPS extreme spread.

Not knowing how close to maxed-out in power she might be, I started with two revolutions (counter-clockwise) of the hammer-stroke adjusting screw. The 44 FPS gain confirming the hammer-stroke screw was not maxed-out in its adjustment, another 1.5 revolutions produced another 6 FPS gain (likely suggesting that adjustment now maxed). Of course every adjustment required an increase in charge pressure to find the new power-band/sweet-spot.

At that point I shifted attention to the hammer-spring tension-preload adjusting screw. One revolution (clockwise) and another increase in charge pressure not only achieved my velocity goal of at least 900 FPS, but a bit more. And as hoped, with no decrease in shot-count. ✌️ The (higher) 225 BAR charge pressure still returns a 21 shot power-band with 25.4s. Low= 894, High= 922, ES= 28, SD= 8, Average= 911 FPS/46.8 FPE.

Unfortunately the winds have been HOWLING day and night since achieving these very gratifying results, so 100 yard capabilities are yet to be well explored. Hopefully some accuracy-testing eye-candy (aka- photos) will be forthcoming, once wind conditions allow.

But at this point I'm almost feeling guilty about negotiating the asking price down to $450.

Key word, 'almost'. 😂

Please Explain

How can a scope or a pair of binoculars cost less than my new eye glasses? Today I spent over 5 C notes to get new prescription lenses put into my frames. There is one piece of plastic per lens in my glasses made with what I assume is a computer controlled lens cutter, and I would not be surprised if they are made in just a few minutes. Whereas a decent middle of the road scope has a milled air craft aluminum tube, multiple highly polished multi coated glass lenses, seals, nitrogen purging, tens to hundreds of tiny precision made parts, and who knows what else it takes to make a middle of the road scope. Really, I am just venting here. I know pretty much it is about the market place. But come on! If a scope can be made for that cheap, then why do I have to pay so dang much for eye glasses?

RTI  MORA .25 100 yards @ 100 degrees

@JoePolanco is 100% right. The .25 Mora can hang at 100 yards for sure. Now I bought my Mora as a slugger aiming to get the Altaros King 66gr .25 slugs shooting at 895-900 fps for 120fpe. My Mora is a first run which has the hammer spring and original large cocking lever. But man this rifle is a dream.

It is hella hot in the New England today - near 100 degrees at the range but at least a small reprieve from the humidity with the level floating around 55-60%. Minimal breeze at 2-3mph.

The Mora pefromed very well today putting in some 5-shot groups at 0.30". Moving out to 100 yards I also had some stellar sub-MOA groups as well.

Results  OKCGC N50 match. June 21st

1750702054152.jpeg

OKCGC we had our N50 match this past Saturday June 21st. Man I have to say the wind was definitely not the shooters friend, all day long. Wind was 17-21 mph with gusts up to 32 mph! With no rhyme or reason as to what direction the wind wanted to take . They said wow, now lets shoot!!! We had 15 shooters show up, one Mike Dugas from Louisiana. I think Mike told me it was a 9 hour tripo_O. Thank you Mike for coming over and shooting with us!!! Great guy too!! We had our two other out of state guys come in, Mike Schultz and Ben Womack. Thanks you two!! We have the greatest local guys that not only sSHOOT here but are always here to HELP with setting up and tearing down!! Pearl actually got to shot both matches, that was a good thing to see! Thom Davies, Jeanette Atkinson and John Sarsycki help scoring. Thank you guys.
Well here are the scores and photos, have fun looking!!

PCP Rifle  SOLD Taipan Vet I .25 Compact FS/T***Price drop***$1000 shipped lower 48.

For Sale /Trade:
Taipan Vet I .25 Compact w/plenum extension and ARCA Rail in very good condition. I am the second owner of this gun, I purchased this from another esteemed AGN member about 2 1/2 years ago. Originally this was purchased from Talon Tunes.

I currently have the gun shooting JSB 25.39 kings at 865FPS. If I do my part, the gun will group dime size groups at 50 yards.

Included in the purchase are 3-D printed mag holders with three magazines, two unopened tins of JSB 25 grand pellets, a lifetime supply of all O-rings, a shroud extension for running a silencer of a larger diameter than the OEM shroud. Also, padded FX case.

There is a small indentation on the stock close to the trigger guard. And there is a small ding on the air fill sleeve. Other than that, in excellent condition.

Asking $1100 shipped to the lower 48. I will include basic shipping, extra insurance is your option. I normally use pirate ship, and get more savings with UPS Ground, then I do with USPS. If you give me your ZIP Code, I will compute the better rate between UPS and USPS.

Only possible trades that I am looking for at this time is the GK1 in .22, or the Krait .22 L wood stock

I would prefer to deal with a member is a contributing member of AGN. I do not buy or sell very much at all, but I have a solid reputation.

Thanks for looking and please reply with a PM, and then we can take it to either texting or some phone calls.
