Brocock/BRK  BRK Brococks, Transparency…

Am and have always been simply a BB and pellet sending fool and was lucky to “stumble” upon the AGN community a few years ago. My limited views are just that and am humbled to be able to contribute. In general the AGN vibe is of an inclusive community and I am grateful for that…🙏 My love for the BRKs is a big secret.🙄 That love has grown through years of performance with four different models: Compatto (my first), followed by the Bantam Sniper HR, two Atomic XRs and a Pathfinder XR. All have upheld the family standard of excellence and have been problem free, performing to specs right out of the box. Am currently awaiting a Ghost in .22 am super excited to get my mitts on it. So expect some waxing Ghostly eloquence at some future point. Nah! The BRKs speak for themselves, simply sweet PCPs.

Results  N50 & USARB Results 5/12/24 Open Grove - 1st pellet 750!

Thirteen shooters showed up for a nice overcast cool Mother's day. Conditions were mild for the most part.
BobS shot his 1st 750 in N50 Pellet so a big congrats to him - plus it's the 1st 750 in Pellet Class. He also won Sportsman 2nd match beating the rimfire guys with his pellets.
JoeF shot his 1st 750 with his pistol too.
A lot of goodies were brought for the shoot. Thanks to all.

A friend and your gun

Now this is not the old “ friend borrowed my gun and banged it up deal” lol! Actually my buddy is very conscientious and careful. I bought an epic 2 about 5-6 weeks ago. He’s been learning and tuning this gun getting it to the desired power output we wanted. He’s done that and started shooting groups. Now, he confided that he doesn’t want to give it back since he’s spent so much time on it. I said “Oh, well then you can either give me the gun or 2 grand and then tune the replacement one I get”. LOL!
Seriously, he really likes it , and so do I. But I think he’ll go with the 700mm version whereas mine is a 550mm. Since he knows tons about it, he won’t hesitate to grab one. Rambling over, thanks.

Daystate  Daystate Redwolf Surgery

On last Friday I pull out my Redwolf just to take a couple of shots and notice that air pressure was very low but when I place it in the safe it had 210bar when i turned it on it showed 68bar so I call AoA and they sent me a Oring kit for the valve body the gun was leaking air out of the barrel, so Sunday I started surgery on my Redwolf and I am glad to say the patient is doing good20240512_113723.jpg20240513_175028.jpg

PCP Rifle  SOLD AGT Vulcan 3-500mm in .22 $1100 shipped!

I have a Pretty much new, Vulcan 3-500mm barrel in .22. Nothing wrong at all. I’m an off hand plinker and this gun is a tad bit too heavy for my liking. I figured the length and balance would off set the weight but hey, we never know until we try in our hobby, unfortunately. Bought this thing around 4/16/24 from Tony at Talon Tunes. Shooting an 18 grain @ 927fps and a 21 grain slug @ 876. It’s an un choked barrel so it does well with the slugs. 17.5 grain-2175 size NSA’s did well too, @ 930fps. Comes with everything Tony gave me. Asking $1100 shipped.

Compressor comparison?

Was looking at the daystate 110v 4500 psi compressor. Looks awesome but 2600 is a lot. Then I see people saying go with the omega air charger. It’s slower but can run 8 hours so it can fill a larger bottle. However after looking at the specs isn’t the gx4 fill rate the same ? The omega air charger is 23 cu ft per hour and the gx4 11 L/min as I figure isn’t that the same ? The gx4 is a third the price. I assume the gx is the way to go when comparing the lower price omega air charger ?

PCP Rifle  SOLD Wts or trade lower price atman m2r compact

Up for sale is a kind of rare compact version of the m2r bp . I think only 50 of this version came into the US....gun comes with three mags ,donny adapter and original box. Keep in mind these guns came new with only one mag. Forgot to mention it shoots jsb 18 grain really gd at 900 fps and if you turn hammer spring up it shoots 21 grain aep really gd at 900 fps. $800 shipped with moderator or $750 gun alone shipped ...no scope either price.

  • Question
Daystate  Daystate Alpha Wolf 22cal velocity issue

I own an Alpha wolf almost a year.
I have an issue with velocity.

I choose for example 22CAL 18.13grain 23"Barrel and 900 fps and the rifle shoots 800fps.
I double checked the velocity with an external Crono.

I changed both external O rings at the transfer port and the one smaller in the barrel. still same results.

Any suggestions that would be useful? I run out of ideas and daystate sents me back at the seller.

Thank you in advance

OMG the scammers are off the hook on AA"

i can almost tell when theirs a scammer around? I think there's one on their now?that they haven't caught yet? i like the one the on their the other day,add was for a 25cal. then in the add it says 22cal.So i emailed him and ask does it come with 2 barrels didn't here from him so checked the add this mourning and it said scam"poor Brad":mad:

Filling 4500 psi air tank with a 3000 psi reserve tank

I'm looking to ensure there's no way to drive the pressure gradient up between a scuba tank and the working air tank for a PCP.

If the scuba tank takes 4500 psi, great. What if it only takes 3000 psi?

Can I then transfer 4500 psi to my working air tank somehow? Or would I max out at 3000 psi after the transfer?

I'm hoping there's some kind of device that can push up the pressure.

Thanks.

Brocock/BRK  Airguns that are an upgrade from my Brocock Sniper HP

Looking for thoughts and advice on what airguns would be an upgrade from my Brocock Sniper HP. I have a few nice airguns that are excellent from 50 yards and in already. I do occasionally like to shoot out to 100 yards. My Sniper HP shoots 25.39 MRD's around 885 fps. I primarily shoot pellets, but slugs are fun to play around with, but not essential. I think I may be able to get something a bit better(faster for sure, more accurate???). Accuracy and reliability/simplicity are key.

What I would be looking for would be .22 caliber, no electronic guns and nothing semi/full auto. I'd like some adjustability on power level and would primarily be shooting from a bench or rest, but on occasion would use it to dispatch nuisance critters. I'd like to stay away from FX and the infinitely adjustability that comes with them. My max price point would be $2,500.

Some of the guns I've read about and think might be contenders to replace the Sniper HP are:
  1. Brocock Ghost
  2. RAW
  3. Uragan
  4. RTI P-3
Thoughts on these or any other I'm missing would be appreciated. Would any of these be enough of an upgrade for me to sell my Sniper HP?

So Far So Good...Very Good!

I've been using my Omaga Trail Charger for some months now, in the beginning I timed fill times which average three and a half minutes with the 470cc Bobcat and 480cc of a Wolverine a minute or two longer but not filled very often. Using a pen stroke every fill I was surprised how fast time accumulated...Gave the grease pot its first rotation...Those pen marks represent about 10 tins or more of shooting, no doubt more than that...not counting my springers. This little unit works flawlessly. Unable to hand pump any more I am a slave to tank or compressor if I want to shoot PCPs...I do! I worry about this units longevity...time will tell. The GX CS4 I unit has caught my attention recently and plan to learn more about it...and may get one if I can find one....but for the time being I really like the Trail Charger.

..Need to order more pellets but that's a good thing!

FX  FX went backward

WTH, FX went from proper, readable, actual meaningful gauges to barely readable toy gauges as their guns progressed. Not sure "progressed" is the right word ! So, what were they thinking in those 12 or so years ?

Here's an "old" (from about 2012 !)...FX Bobcat with proper, readable, usable pressure gauge.
Oh yeah, and you don't have to look down the barrel as with many other brands.
(As borrowed from the classified section)

To a more current, modern (?), FX gauge. Maverick with toy, almost...gauge.

Karma  the Skinny on RED PANDAS and Karma SLS Compact and Standard

I just talked to Bin at the Pellet Shop. We always have a bad phone connection so I couldn't hear alot of what I was told but I did manage to make out this info:

These are not made by AEA. They are actually made in one of only a handful of factories that are authorized to make weapons in China. The same factory just happens to also make parts for AEA. They used the tooling for the air tubes and a few other parts because they already had it on hand. The Red Panda is NOT an AEA gun or made with a bunch of AEA parts. Not even close. Apparently people who have these in thier hands are saying "I just shot the best 100 yard group of my life"...and I guess they are hearing that alot. There are .30 cals only now as of May 13th 2024 (today). In 45 days there will be the first large shipment that will include other calibers. In the same shipment should also be the SLS Compact and Standard models. If you pre-order from PY Air through the link in my video (or any PY Air link in any of my videos) I'll make 5%. Order now if you want yours in the first batch!

I won't be getting one or be able to do a review until the big shipment comes in, around July 1st. At that time I'd like to do the .22 but may have to do the .30 just to see this awesome 100 yard accuracy!

Here is a quick video telling you just about nothing on the Red Panda. Hit up Backyard Airguns Youtube channel for the first review on that bad boy! -Nate
