Other  "Sub MOA all day" Challenge

"Sub MOA all day" is a phrase I think we hear alot on this forum. Most of us take that with a grain of salt as we understand the reality of that all the time isn't realistic. This video was just posted on a thread about long distance with pellets.

It's about Sub MOA guarantees and how most manufacturers only need to shoot 1 3 shot group Sub MOA to meet their guarantee but the reality is its only one group not multiple in a row.

It got me thinking let's do a challenge.
Lets do 4 separate 5 shot groups in a row on one paper/target. Nothing else. No sighter groups or anything. 50yd minimum and whatever gun you got. If you don't have 50yds do whatever your max distance is. I know people practice EBR and do this often at 100yds but this is just for fun. See what our guns and we can do. Especially for those who aren't competition shooters. Let us know whatever gun you used and ammo and speed. Not calling anyone out at all with this, this is just a let's have fun with it and see what we can do.

I'll start with a target I did the other day. Taipan Veteran Long .22 JTS 18gr at 915fps. 50yds. I will be trying this at both 75yds and 100yds when time permits. Probably try my Evol Mini which I tuned to 12fpe at 50yds for fun.

RMAC/PYA/NAC card 250 with a lot of xs.

Thomas slug gun and new high bc slugs.

Light wind topping out at no more than 5.

This is the very first card I have shot at 100 (with these slugs). edit I shot a single 25 shot group yesterday in pretty heavy wind.

The worst shot still broke the n50 9 with the plug. The inside of the N50 9 is smaller than the RMAC 10.

Brocock/BRK  For those of you trying to decide between a Brocock Atomic/Ranger and a Pathfinder.

When I was trying to decide if a small Brocock was worth purchasing because I already had a FX Dreamline Tactical and was not sure how they would stack up in size as a backpack gun. I could find dimensions but not a photo comparison of the three guns.
So I am posting these photos to possibly help another prospective buyer decide what size would be right for them. There are plenty of posts on the performance stats of these guns but a visual of their comparative size would have helped me out making my decision.

DIMENSIONS ARE OPEN WITH STOCK NOT EXTENDED AND FOLDED. As you can see not a huge difference from the Dreamline.

Atomic. - 24 1/2“. And 16”

Pathfinder - 26 1/2”. And 18”

FX. - 29 1/2”. And 21 1/2”

Kalibrgun  What have you heard about KalibrGun?

Hello everyone, I'm a new member!

I heard a rumor that Snipe II has no equal up to 150 m.

I have heard not very good reviews about Snipe I, I don’t know how things are with the second model. I'll have it soon!

What are the main criteria for testing a rifle? What should I pay attention to first?

I'll definitely let you know!

Practice, Training and attending matches

For practice, I have the luxury of my home course being 10min away. I also belong to the gun club it's built on so I can shoot there most any time of the week from first light to dark. It's nice to work on my routine, tweak my position and anything else I'd like to try. For training, I follow two methods. If I'm having difficulties with kneeling, or standing I will practice those alone, either on one target or shooting the course that way during a practice session. The same goes for any hiccups in my routine. I call this micro training. Attending matches allows for a bit of pressure, and the hubub of a day on the lanes. Here I get to experience different targets, layouts and wind conditions to add to the home course practice. I try to use every practice and match to hone a skill or work a new skill into my routine.

What's your approach, and why?

Was There Anything Mysterous, About the Mysterous Mystery Box Raffle/Contest/Lottery ???

  • YES. Very Mysterous.

  • No. Nothing odd about the results

Results are only viewable after voting.

Recently there was a Mystery Box raffle/contest/lottery.
For those that do not know what this Mystery Box raffle/contest/lottery was all about, it was basically where people had the opportunity to spend $199, and BLINDLY receive a box or boxs, but had no idea what they would receive. Only 200 of these "box's" were available, and they all sold out rather quickly. More details can be found here: https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/airgun-mystery-boxes-live-tomorrow.1311752/

After the raffle/contest/lottery was over, and winners of the raffle/contest/lottery began coming forward with their winnings, there seemed to be a lot of controversy, on the Mystery Box raffle/contest/lottery results.

Other members had noticed that there seemed to be a lot of members here at AGN, that also participated and won big in the Mystery Box raffle/contest/lottery. But the odd thing about all this, is that it seems as though these lucky winners, also just recently joined AGN.

So I went back through one of the original threads, ( https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/airgun-depot-mystery-box-opinions.1311787/ ) and here is exactly what I discovered:

1. 18 of the winners, just happened to join AGN this year (2024).
2. 11 of these 18, just happened to join AGN joined the same week ( 5/4/2024 to 5/10/2024).
3. The O.P. that started that thread, joined this year, and had no idea that the sponser (Airgun Depot) was located just 5 minutes from their house.
4. Several of these new AGN members, that also participated in the Mystery Box raffle/contest/lottery, mentioned that they were previously clueless that AGN existed, and only discovered AGN, via a recent search engine search for MYSTERY BOX.

So what do you think?

JTS  JTS AIRACUDA STANDARD .22 Owners!

Got mine today after saying no no..ignore.

What are your hammer spring settings for your best shot string, turns out?

Angie at GTX presented this shot string at two full turns out “strangler” at 5:

11:11 on her video.

I’m waiting on new scope Thursday to check these results. Aired rifle up to check for slow leaks. Two test shots, rifle very quiet but spring or ping noise still present. Not an issue, for me, as long as it’s quiet in stock form.

New member

Hello! I am a new member. I have been following the board since its early days, though. (Usually while on vacation, when I have time.)

My profile photo is of an owl that fell from a nest at my house, last night. It was moved to an owl/raptor rescue, today. It may come back to our home in another day or so...Apparently, owls are not as picky as other birds about welcoming a wayward soul back to the nest....who knew?

At any rate, I do have some specialized knowledge with regard to air guns. More than most 'users' I think. I do not build or modify, but I do know how to maintain the airguns I have. I am running a decades old Coltri 6 air compressor machine, and have both 3000 and 4500 psi tanks.

Thank you for letting me join.

Best regards,
Groak

Bob Sofsky shoots first ever perfect agg in N50!

Just want to say congratulations to @BobS for being the first pellet shooter to score the elusive 750 3 card aggregate at a National 50 match!

National 50 is in its 4th season now and lots of people have been trying very hard to make it happen. Bob puts in the time, and may be the most dedicated shooter in the league.

Great Job, Sir!

Traditional Rifle  SOLD Beeman R10, hawke scope ,SOLD

I am selling my Beeman R10 that I purchased in 1990. It was tuned by John in PA in 2021. Shoots around 925 fps with 8.44gr pellets. I have the original receipt, some of the original papers, and the Chrony report from John in PA. It has some scratches on the stock but looks great for a 30 year old gun. Accuracy?? well it is a high power spring air gun. I can shoot around a dime size hole at 35 yards but I have no doubt someone else can do better. I have done better in the past but I dont want to oversell the accuracy. The tune up was great as one would expect from John and the action is smooth. John put on a new muzzle grip, and added new screws (allen) to the rifle. $585 shipped to Conus. I can text few more photos if you specify what you want and you send me an email. Hawke airmax 4-12 scope is included. I am thinning the herd ,PayPal, venmo, mo. I'm happy to answer any questions.

I totally scored on my Mystery Box!

I was beginning to worry after seeing that everyone had received theirs already. Then I received notifications that 9 boxes were being shipped, which had me scratching my head. 🤔 I decided to have some family on hand for the delivery as it required adult signature. When the packages 📦 came I got a phone call from my dad who was kind enough to watch for the delivery asking if I had won some major prize? His description of what came again had me excited yet 🫤 confused. Well this is what I came home to. I’ve seen all the other mystery boxes posted, but I’m guessing this one takes the cake! 🤯

Hopefully post some pictures soon.
