AOA has a  used one for sale in .22. They are asking $7,450.00 for it. No I'm not planning on buying it but it seems like a very interesting air gun. It's custom built and uses a twin opposing piston mechanism.

Anybody here ever get to shoot one of these? Sorry no photo I couldn't get the picture to post.

Shooting tube Post deleted by OP

I want to thank the few that offered heartfelt and helpful contributions to the post. I have deleted it because of the truly ignorant, unfeasible, out of the parameters or just plain hateful and spiteful reply's.. I will remind others the reason for this forum is to help those who share the passion for airguns as I do, or are seeking guidance. I am sadden to see such nefarious and indecorous interactions playing out on this forum.
For the ones who offered helpful input, I have been shooting in my backyard since I bought the house (2013). It is no secret that I shoot there even had uniformed local P.D. shoot with us once. I am not trying to hide the fact I shoot here, just looking for a way to shoot year round in comfort and have a testing tube for accuracy without the interference of the elements.

N/A  Free public airgun reading material

I ran across this on the internet archive. It's free to read and/or download. It's rather informative on airguns made up until 2003. J. E. House is a good writer. He has a book on American air rifles posted there as well.

Cheers,

Beeman  R1 Compression tube seam variation.

I recently purchased a Santa Rosa .20 R1 Carbine that has a chamfered front compression tube cap seam rather than the usual attempt at hiding the seam. Both the tube and the end cap are chamfered and obviously the seam was not meant to be hidden and is almost ornamental. The serial number is 1098xxx. I noticed the same seam on member SteveP-52s recently acquired R1 Laser and contacted him, his serial number is 1238xxx. I am going to guess this style seam was a temporary production variation as later versions went back to the hidden seam. So check your R1 and let’s see those seams.

Old but Gold

Nowadays everything must be bigger, faster and louder. I can still remember how much fun we had with 30FPE air rifles and what we were capable of doing with them. Has these high powered air rifles made us better shots? Well sometimes i wonder. Here is a old video where i did some pest control with the 30FPE Daystate Huntsman Revere.

What a brilliant air rifle, just a straight forward piece of kit that only requires air, pellets and a decent shot behind a scope and i promise you, you will have a blast of a time.

What do you think?

Airforce  texan ss 308 or 357

I'm aiming to my next and final gun for a while either the 308 or 357 texan ss.. my questions is same grain bullet on both rifles is the 357 going to dispatch the pellet/slug faster or is just wasting more air... also if a deer shows up will both dispatch a deer humanly? i want an all around rifle to dispatch a coyote or a ground hog to possibly a deer?

Introduce Yourself Sticky?

It seems like there should be an "Introduce Yourself" sticky as an icebreaker for the people that are new to the sport and don't know enough to make an intelligent contribution to any of the existing threads. Having said that, and by way of introduction, this is how I landed on the AN web page.

I live in a populated area of SoCal and our neighborhood is becoming over-populated with gophers. Our daughter had one pop up in her backyard and I took the opportunity to bring out my Winchester 1000x (made in China) and do a little backyard plinking. I haven't used it for many months and it took a couple of warm-up shots to get used to that horrible terrible trigger. She became concerned over the noise we were making so we ended the session after a dozen or so shots, but it left me longing for more.

So now I find myself looking down the rabbit hole of yet another hobby. Originally I thought of taking this to the backyard with a LDC-equipped rifle/carbine but the way things are in the world today I don't want to cause a fuss so I think moving indoors would be the better option for the time being. We have a long hallway that might work, and I've got my eye on the Notos/PPxxx/Bandit carbines...but I've always always always lusted for that powder-burning Luger that I could never afford and I almost bought one of the air-powered Lugers on an impulse...but I just can't make the leap to CO2...yet...because I don't know enough about CO2 power. My prejudice towards CO2 comes from when I was a kid and couldn't afford the CO2 powerlets on my lunch money.

I have several BB guns and a few Daisy 760/66 pellet guns, given as prizes for early entrance to the Shooting Sports Fairs that they had in the area decades ago. [Just now noticed that the Daisy 66 is a much heavier barrel than the 760]. Besides the Chinese Winchester, notably, I have a Benjamin pump pistol in .22cal (similar in appearance to the 132 or 137) that I bought in the early 70s...I just need to find it :) And I think I still have my old Daisy Model 25 pump that I had as a kid, but I haven't seen that one in many years. As a kid, I used to smuggle that one out of the house, broken down, in a paper bag...I keep thinking it's probably in a paper bag in some forgotten corner of a closet. I know it didn't get stolen or thrown away, so it's around here someplace.

I haven't spent any money yet, but it's a good thing that Notos is out of stock!

modify or buy new?

hello! im here again with another random question. I am currently looking at the Airforce condor air rifle (haven't decided on what caliber yet) im looking at it so hard that my wallet is getting scared lol. but here's the question. do I buy the condor, a gun that would fit my needs just fine as is out of the box, or, do I modify my Airforce TalonP to fit those same needs? I got the TalonP as a gift, so I didn't pay anything for the gun, figure about 250 on the larger bottle, 250ish on the longer barrel, and say 100 on other random bits that I would need, so all in say 600 bucks...or spend 860ish on a new condor and keep the TalonP as is. in a way, I really want a new gun (again) to add to the collection, and on the other hand, im running out of room for these darn things. my main use for the condor would be to build it into a slug gun of sorts, for longer range hunting and plinking, with the occasional coyote here and there...the TalonP could be built up to do a very similar task and all it takes is money, time, research, waiting on parts, finding parts....or I could buy the condor...I would assume the condor will pretty much always be more powerful than the TalonP so that's something to consider to a degree, and I would be getting the condor ss, so it would be more neighbor friendly than my very loud TalonP. I think I already have my mind made up and at this point im trying to validate my opinion I guess. :)

Optics  NLA March Genesis HM 4-40x52

I suppose I'm done with ELR using airguns and this has been sitting in the safe more than it should be. Also I'm buying a new E-Mountain bike so this sale will help fund that purchase.

This scope is in MIL and has the FML3 reticle. It was bought NIB from a guy on a SH forum a year ago and its in 99.9% condition, also comes with everything that came in the box as well as the box.
Best to look up all the specs on March's website but what's significant is it is a externally adjusted scope with 86 MILS of elevation travel!!!
The glass is right up there with the best riflescopes ever made and I've looked through most of them to confirm that fact.

Brand new these go for $5400.

Cash FTF, personal check with waiting period to clear, or cashiers check from a major bank in the amount of "as of 5/14/24" reduced from $4900 to $4650. I don't do PP anymore. This price includes 3 day shipping and insurance.

Gamo  NEW Gamo Variable Pumper for '24?

Sorry there are no new pumpers in the pipeline? Oh heck no!!!!!! Last night, I read something online about a new Gamo pumper planned for release around August of '24! Incredibly, they're claiming this beastie of a 10-pump variable pump pneumatic air rifle will have an all-new, breakthrough tech making it capable of sending pellets on their way at a blistering, breakbarrel-like 1200 fps! Even better, IIRC, the target price is planned to be in the neighborhood of a very affordable ninety bucks or so! A new 10-pump air rifle capable of 1200 fps for less than a hundred dollars... from Gamo? Color me sold! ;-) I've only seen the one blurb so far, so I can't be sure this is all on the up-and-up, but I thought I'd post a heads-up for the variable pumper enthusiasts out there, in case it is comin' down the pike. You better believe I'm keeping all my appendages crossed! ;-) Oh yeah, I think this already fairly amazing variable pumper is supposed to support a 10-shot magazine as well, making the whole idea even more attractive (if possible)! If this thing is for real, I can't wait to see a photo and hard proof of imminent release (and coincidentally, I just happen to have a birthday comin' up in early September). :) We will see...

Any idea on what this is?

A friend picked this up used, from a used dealer who took it in in trade. It has a nice fully adjustable trigger that suggests a match style rifle. It appears to be CO2 operated and has a "fill tube" but it is not clear what it uses for the fill. It is .177. It has an Anschutz style to it, and may be a copy of some type. The stock is synthetic and not wood. There is no name or makers info. It has 3126 stamped on the top.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

JTS  JTS Aircuda 'MAD' Max

It's been a while since I posted my own thread on here, so I figured I'd show a project I did recently.

This is a JTS aircuda max .22.

The gentleman I did this for refinished the stock himself. The wood on these JTS stocks is very nice. It's a shame it's hidden under a drab stain.

I fit a 24", non choke Lothar Walther 1:17.7 barrel and made up an air stripper / endcap that tensions the barrel, with a carbon shroud. I machined the port to be as free flowing as possible.

I fitted a heavier hammer spring, there was already a lighter valve spring in it. I opened up the valve and ports. Made a new plenum tube end cap and fitted a Huben Power deram valve, regulated drop block.

I tested this at 40 yards with a .22 sized moderator on it (no oversizing) and after getting it on paper and a few shots to settle it in, I put 12 shots in a dime with a very questionable shooting setup. I didn't even clean the barrel! This was with 18 grain JSB at 1060fps with just 1800psi on the reg and free play on the hammer spring, with no valve bounce.

After the gentleman refitted the stock, he's now putting 10 shots in a single hole, with the moderator on, at 30 yards. That's using 20 grain JSB in the high 900's

Let me know what you think. I really enjoyed this one.

FWB  FWB 300 .....anyone else have one?

I bought this FWB300 as part of a package deal. It is a very rare gun ....apparently. I tried a Google search and turned up very limited information on it.
So, I'm reaching out to our community for some feedback about this rifle. Any information is welcome.

Thanks in advance!! JC
