My NEW GMI SWAG PRESS

Hi so I got my GMI Freedom press , I got it in .22 caliber with a flat base and also a deep Taper base . so it got here in a double vardboard box I opened both to find A plastic shipping container , I open that and find the press and 2 pcv boxes with one your tooling and the other with a set of allen wrenches , and toolds to tighten hardware , Even the hardare was wrapped with extra hardware .
So I undo everything and look at build quality I see the hollow point pim and it has 2 allen screws to lock it in place and a allen to adjust your depth , As alot of you guys know I am a mechanic and I always take things apart even when I get a new gun to see how its made ect ,
So the detail of fitment of threads is very tight , the fitment of the pins to the diew are precise , the press is much smaller then my corbin it is a compact unit but it is made very riggid , and is made very well , the way you adjust the sizes with this press is it has a coller which is split like a some dies are made where their is a adjustment to lock the threads when you tighten screw . So you turn dial to adjust your size and lower pin into die and then toghten coller this puts everything into alignment , and then when it is centered the weight of handle wthe pin will fall threw die perfectly ,
I had seen a forum where people wanted a review so I am explaining everything on this set up ,like did anyone get a gmi ? Well I did , I just ordered a >30 caliber die with a boat tail , I cant wait for this I am going to make some 68 grainers or so for the Yotes here they getting bad
OK so here is a few pics of some I have just made learning to use this machine , I plan on trying to shoot some groups on a few of my guns I will update this post as I do with accuarcy results and when I get the .30 caliber I will also show you results and I am sorry these pictures didnt come out well , More pics to come ,
I also would like to add 1 thing GMI emailed me to see how things going , then they give you pointers and advice and if You messege then they answer with in like under 1 hour during hours , and they are the most prefessional people you casn see they care about their name and products they are unlike what most of us are used to as far as manufactures , they are craftsman who are thriving for perfection , LOU

What am I doing Wrong mounting a scope on my M4

Hello Forum members! I spent way too much time today trying to mount a scope on my M4 only to have 1.5 revelations left on the elevation turret?
my gear- Athlon Midas Tac HD, 6-24x50, Mrad, 30mm tube, Element Optics low scope rings. I was trying to get as much elevation as the scope would allow, w/the scope bottomed out I click up 35 and 40 clicks/4 mrad and start zeroing from there. Aim at the Bull and the pellet hole is 10" or 15" inches down. So, I dialed the elevation turret up and the reticle drops to the point of impact, and I got my 25yds zero. But" the Elevation turret is now up on line two or slightly more" and there's about 1 3/4 full revelations of travel and the scope is maxed out vertically... The scope rail has built in MOA, I'm sure the rail is not backwards or something, I slid it back for eye relief that's it. I usually can mount and zero in 30 mins or less- Not today! 🤬

Wooden stock for the Bullshark.

Greetings Everybody
Here is a project I am working on. A wooden stock with a short forearm for my stoeger bullshark. The wood is Curly English Walnut with a beautiful figure.
IMG_2830.jpeg
IMG_2829.jpeg
This is intended for a squirrel hunting gun. I’m hoping to shave even more weight off of the already light gun. Currently the wood stock is only 7oz. heavier than the factory plastic and I still have a lot of shaping to do. 😁 Question; Does anyone have ideas or photos for the butt pad, end of the pistol grip, and end of the forearm. I am planning on installing sling swivels and making a leather sling. Thanks

Traditional Rifle  SOLD Weihrauch HW55S ARH NOS

This is an opportunity to acquire a NOS untouched Weihrauch HW55 Standard. This is a 1978 (by serial number) ARH (Air Rifle Headquarters) import. Nicer than the Beeman import (to me) because it doesn’t have all the Beeman branding on the metal work. This rifle is as new and doesn’t appear to me it has ever been apart. Looks like original lubing. I test fired it a with couple shots and it is soooo smooth. I‘m quite certain it’s the leather piston seal model. All original with the Weihrauch Diopter and eye shade. Bluing is perfect. Stock has maybe a couple tiny handling marks to small to capture. Comes with the front sight inserts as well. I had a set of front sight replacement filler screws that I had from the 1980’s. I installed them also. Not many out there like this one. As fresh as it was when it came out of the box.

N/A  FX M4 Compact vs Krait Standard vs BRK Ghost Carbine

Hello and Happy New Year,

I've narrowed my options down to three popular airguns, and I’d love to hear your thoughts—especially if you've had the chance to try all three.

I’m not a professional airgunner, so I’m looking for an honest, down-to-earth opinion from someone who knows their stuff. My main goal is to find something compact and quiet for some backyard plinking, but with the flexibility to crank up the power if I spot a coyote sneaking around.

From what I’ve gathered, the M4 is all about tinkering and customization, the Krait is the simple, no-fuss option, and the Ghost is super unique but comes with some pricey, replaceable parts.

I’ve owned plenty of PCP airguns in the past, but I’ve never had to dive into any maintenance or tuning myself. So, they must be reliable.
if you were to recommend one of these three and give it a solid tune-up, I’d likely stick with your settings and leave it at that—no need for experiments on my end.

Also, just to make it clear, I’m not too concerned about the price tag of any of these models.

Given all that, which one would you say is the best fit for me?

N/A  Life time gun?

Hi guys! Now that I’ve gotten the son & laws notos shipped off, I’m saving to get my son a hunting/ target pcp. My son is more of a hunter so this pcp will be used a lot more than son& law. My son loves my hunting pcps, and has experience with mine. So I’m looking for a reliable accurate and powerful and easy to maintain PCP for him. I want to get him something he can eventually give to his children. I’m thinking something in 30cal. So he can hunt hog to squirrel. So what would be the rifle you would buy? That’s the question of the day. Thanks for your input guys have a great day!

CF LSS Texan not firing! Please help I’ve tried everything

Hi all I’m new to here and was wondering if anyone can help me with this problem….my CF LSS Texan right out the box, purchased directly from Airforce Airguns won’t fire…all I hear is a dull click noise…

I’ve tried everything, including contacting Airforce Airguns like 5 times via email and left a message at their phone number…no response…I cock the gun, load a pellet, and remove the safety and it’s a no go…I’ve tried fiddling around with the adjuster but still nothing…someone mentioned removing the screw on the forearm that didn’t help either…some people said it’s not cocking fully but it’s cocking fully at a little bit over 90 degrees…I don’t want to keep trying firing it because maybe it can be considered dry firing since nothing is happening when I pull the trigger….i don’t want this to turn into a 1000+ dollar paperweight! Is there anybody else that has gone through this problem?

Daystate  DayState electronic actions deep dive

This is pretty technical series of questions about DayState Alpha/Delta Wolf versus earlier generation Air Wolf and Red Wolf electronic rifles.

I own an AirWolf with a HeliBoard which is a wonderful rifle. I believe the Red Wolf shares a similar design in which the rifle's computer uses a transducer to measure the pressure in the rifle's bottle during a shot string. Software in the AirWolf / RedWolf then uses a lookup table (MCT) to adjust some combination of capacitor voltage and discharge time, that in combination, hit the hammer to give a consistent energy per shot as the bottle pressure drops.

In the new Alpha/Delta Wolf rifles, has the pressure transducer function been replaced by a Huma regulator? This is the key point of my question: Do these new rifles rely on the constant pressure supplied by a Huma Regulator, without a lookup table to adjust solenoid energy, since in principle the pressure is now constant.

If that's the case, what's the benefit of using a regulated bottle pressure in the Alpha/DeltaWolf versus a lookup table in the AirWolf/Redwolf to achieve a flat shot string? I'm guessing than answer is that with a manually adjusted Huma regulator the FAC rifle can be tuned to shoot over a huge energy range with 0.177 to 0.30 barrels?

Looking forwards to learning more.

Which 12fpe Rifle do you shoot?

Hello All!
I have been tinkering with the idea of setting up one of my current rifles for WFTF PCP.
I am curious what others are shooting?
Yes I have looked at GP and worlds and such equipment but im interested in everyone else.
What do you shoot thats 12fpe for field target?
Looking for rifles that are NOT Thomas, XTi50, Styer etc..
What do the non traveling shooters shoot?

Sometimes it seems like looking for a needle in a haystack, good lite weight

high power scope that is less then $600 .Really it is so hard to figure out the best way to go.
Ok, how about less than $1000,weight under 30 oz and magnification up to around 25x.
I buy a lot of scopes used ,so I save money that way.
I think I will start writing down a list of scopes that qualify.
Must have great glass.
Use is 100yard target shooting .
Please do not wish me good luck as I do not have it.Thank you (y)

  • Question
N/A  What's this about "cold barrels?"

I posted this question in response to a few people talking about the first shot out of a cold barrel, seeming to imply that the POI would shift as the barrel warmed up. Or am I missing the point? (I often do......)

"
Kinda new to all of this, but I do have a question. Considering that we are shooting compressed air from a storage tank, isn't the barrel always cold? If anything, according to the laws of physics, the air will get hotter when it's compressed into the bottle, and cool down over time until it approaches ambient. When it is released from the bottle, it will be cooler. Or so I believe.

A word of caution: I still believe in the Easter Bunny and the Great Pumpkin......
