FX  I think I found a magic build amp / huma reg

So I took a huma-air reg and used an amp piston and a slightly altered huma spring stack and it has been the most consistent fastest responding setup I have ever used and I’m using it on a 300bar fill single reg setup and it’s flawless has anyone ever tried this before? What combos do most people run

  • Question
N/A  Mordax vs Huben GK1

Is the Mordax worth the extra investment?
I’m considering purchasing one of these, and both seem to perform well, each with its own advantages and drawbacks.

What stands out to me about the Mordax is the full-auto capability and the removable magazine, which are pretty appealing features. On the other hand, the Huben’s more affordable price tag is definitely a factor to consider.

From what I’ve gathered, both can handle slugs (correct me if I am wrong), so performance in that regard seems comparable. However, I’ve heard that not just any air compressor can handle the pressure needed to fully charge the Huben’s cylinder, which could be a downside if you don't already have a high-pressure compressor.

Also, I would like to know:
1-if optics needed if you are just going for 30 yard.
2- what could be the reason of the unremovable magazine for GK1?
3- If they both take slugs is it more beneficial to get the .22 instead of .25?

What I’m uncertain about is the long-term durability of either brand. If you have any experience or insights on this, I’d love to hear why you might prefer one over the other.

Purpose: Pest control
Caliber: .22 or .25

Umarex  First Air rifle - Notos with some upgrades

This is my first air rifle I just put together. Shoots pretty flat out to 60 yards, at 100 yards have to hold 2 moa. The Notos is a great bang for buck. I did the buck rail lower, skeleton folding stock, plenum kit, silent thunder ordnance falx suppressor, and a cheap fixed 3x discovery scope.

Classified Ads You Waited and LOST On

Curious as to what some of your missed opportunities have been here. I check the classifieds daily unless I'm on a trip and have had a few items that have slipped through my fingers due to me waiting, procrastinating or just not being fast enough.

Three that come to mind.
1. An early BSA Lightning. I'm not sure why, but I've always loved the look of them. Saw one and pondered... and it was gone.
2. AirMax Katran in .177. I looked and looked at it. Just didnt have a need for it and still dont, but dang it was purdy.
3. A Texan 308 in white cam that I missed. I'll blame it on Helene as during the blackout, I decided if it was still available when I got internet back, I'd get it...but it wasnt. Another 'dont need it', but wanted it.

There is another gun right now that I've eyeballed in the classifieds that I typed up a msg to the seller twice now and didnt hit send. I just dont need it and cant justify it.

What are some that yall have missed out on that are memorable?

Other  Choosing an M4 question

Would I be doing myself a disservice by getting a .177 in 600m? I'm learning a small bit more towards that because of shot count, quietness, as well as I have 100 yard (91.44 m) private range and indoor 100 near me. If I do any hunting with will be small game only up to a rabbit. The other option is 22 in 700 mm. Obviously, which whichever I choose ill be getting a barrel of the other caliber.

Edit: I have no power restrictions, I am in Florida.

  • Question
Brocock/BRK  Torn on what to get.

Looking for a good mid range first PCP. I like Daystate or Brocock. Don't really want to start out with top of the line but have a friend who just ordered an Impact M4 and don't want him to out shoot me. :) I have read reviews on lots of guns but maybe I have read to many. Mostly would do target shooting up to 100 yards and some bird hunting. Thanks for the input.

FX  Is 100 fps drop normal for FX impact M3 in cold weather?

I realize that cold weather will cause a decrease in FPS. However, I’m not sure what is considered on average a “normal” or “acceptable” drop in fps. I’ve lived in Florida for the last 20 years where the weather is quite warm even during winter time. However, in Arkansas, the winters are considerably colder.

On August 13,2024, the temperature was about 82°F. My 28 shot string with my FX M3 showed an average FPS of 891 with extreme spread of 5 FPS and STD Deviation of 1.7 FPS. Today, the temperature is about 40°F. I shot myFX M3 in the colder weather, and my average FPS was 781 FPS with extreme spread of 54 FPS and STD Deviation of 12.4FPS.

When I shot my FX impact M2, there was very little change in the fps or extreme spread or std deviation whether in cold or hot weather.

I know that the M3 has a dual regulator snd the M2 doesn’t, but are these results typical for the M3 in colder weather? I also shot my FX Pantera in .25 caliber and only the first shot had a drop in FPS but then all other shots were consistent and had good extreme spread and low standard deviation. I also shot my Daystate Alpha Wolf and it was consistent without any drop in the FPS. Maybe the FX impact M3 behaves this way in cold weather? Has anyone else experience a similar situation? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hatsan  Hatsan plastics and screws

At the dismantling of the headstock, it appeared to me that Hatsan factory has to monitor their assembly line on
overtightening and alignment of the plastic screws.

To solve the misaligned screw, i drilled a new hole in the opposite direction (downwards) and to fix the smaller screw, i fit in a bigger one after fist
trimmed the head-diameter

RAW Rapid  (new) RAW - HM1000X ... Changing Calibers -> Pellet Probe Removal?

Hey Guys,
Very Basic question regarding the "newest version" of the RAW HM1000X:

- The pellet probe housing no longer has the two tiny set-screws, allowing the pellet probe to be removed when changing calibers?

I want to my .177 caliber barrel and have the .177 cal. probe .... I'm sure RAW didn't discontinue the ability to change out calibers ... just wondering .

Since RAW never produces schematics ........... it's my current puzzle .

N/A  Looking for some help here

Hey guys it's been awhile. Yes I'm good just been taking a break again like the last few winters. This one has been very hard weather wise on us for the dairy but we're hanging on.

Anyways at a New Years party the other day I had 2 people asking about airguns. They wanted my opinion on what would be a good gun in the $1000-$1500 range to get into. Something just to shoot and not need to mess around with.

Obviously I'm biased and think Taipan. But I'd love some other options out there in that price range that are solid and dependable. Anything new come out recently? I don't think they'd want used even though I mentioned it's a big savings over new usually.

HW/Weihrauch  HW97k Questions

I have several questions regarding my HW 97k that someone my be able to answer.

If I forget to put a pellet in the chamber and close the action can I reopen it? Do I have to take the safety off in order to open it?

If I have a pellet in the action and take the safety off, can I put the safety back on?

What damage if any will occur if the rifle is fired without a pellet in the chamber?

Occam’s Razor and puttering in the cold winter shop

After pondering some Occam’s Razor angle. … and dealing with the blast of artic air . I’ve have been puttering at best with a back of a 87 year old mule. Getting old isn’t for the weak. 😢
Still working on finishing the Thunderbird build. It’s the second gun from the Firefox project . (Like Jurasic Park, there were two islands) .

When I built the Firefox ,I made two or three of most parts for testing and back up. I’ve settled on piston and spring set up and am waiting on LW TO GET barrels in stock..

Its blacked and waiting for ambition and warmth. 🤨

On a new note ,I’ve designed a ground up build of a whole new gun.. No manufacture has used this size tube or stroke set up. Not 25mm, not 26 ,mm not 27,28,29, 30. It’s not bigger.

Ill do a post later on details after final assembly. It’s a .22 with all the traits of every gun I’ve owned or worked on using the best of. Everything will be hand built except forks which I modified and re designed for a short transfer port design. Most Break barrels , have 15 mm long ports , inefficient they are. There is some WEBLEY,HW,AA … thoughts in this one. Ultimate 17 to 20 ft lb gun cocking easier than a R9

RAW Rapid  Raw HM1000x early model

I have the opportunity to buy an early Raw HM1000x with a stock made by Rutherford its company.
Will buy it remotely so cannot inspect it butt it looks beautiful on the pictures.

I also have a HM1000x from 2017 that shoots very nice and has te offset silencer, believe this was made in the last year Rutherford owned the company.
It's a .25 and I have a .30 and a .22 set that can be placed in this airgun.

Where there any differences in the block or internals like the prope between the early models and the 2017 models.
Reason for asking is that I want to exchange sets with between these guns.

N/A  Strange to me belleville washer order.

I decided to take another look at the messed up Huma raptor regulator that came with the Epic and took a look this time at the washer order.

It was in this order
())))) that's two facing and five back to front counting the second washer in line. Is that weird or is that a thing now?
I reordered them since it was 6 total ()()() I'm waiting for the this to settle a while and cross my fingers but has anyone seen this config in a reg from Huma or any other regulator? I haven't

EDgun  Considering a new purchase of Edgun Leishy2 350mm .22cal- please share your experience with the gun!

hi guys

i am on a shopping spree

haven't gotten my newly bought dreamlite .30cal delivered yet but already thinking of getting a second airgun and what a gun that is- the lovely edgun leashy2 .22cal with 350mm barrel--

please share your thoughts on the gun if you have it or not..

please compare to my new dreamlite and tell me if i made a poor choice with the fx and if the edgun is better and why?

even if i get the edgun thanks to your input- i will still keep the dreamlite because of the large .30cal... the edgun is more for small game (birds) and plinking but also the semi auto makes me wet.. and the design.. and precision from short barrel.. and the looks,,,

ok- i need to shut it.. just let me know your thoughts on that purchase

thanks

PCP Rifle  SOLD Edgun Leshiy 2 9mm 450 Behemoth Vortex Fully loaded

Hello, I am letting go of my Leshiy 2. To be honest it's just too much gun in the 9mm .35 cal for my backyard fun. It's an awesome rifle and I sunk a bunch of money in it right out of the gate. But, I really prefer to punch paper with 22 cal stuff. It has the 450mm barrel, a 4-24x50mm Vortex Strike Eagle scope with Warne 20moa cantilever scope base, red dot open top reflex sight, a $250 custom laminate grip, UTG 360 Recon Bipod, 3-9mm magazines, 2 mag holders in blue to match the grip, the 460cc monster bottle upgrade, an additional carbon fiber handguard shroud for longer barrels, a 700mm .30 cal FX barrel with superior liner and FX/Leshiy brass barrel adapter, and an adjustable carbon fiber shroud for FX barrels from 500-700mm with a Behemoth tri-lug adapter on it as well. I haven't messed with it. It's set as it was shipped. Very powerful and accurate. I do not have any 30 caliber magazines. I purchased it from Edgun West about a year ago and was picking up parts to convert it to a 30 caliber. Which, is why I have the additional shrouds and barrel. All you would need is a .30 caliber magazine and you basically have 2 rifles in one. I'm not expecting to get back the mountain of money I put in this rifle, but I'm also not going to give it away either. I have right at $5,000 invested in this setup. I'll accept $3,750 Paypal f&f, or Goods and Services add 5% for the fees. Shipping is included in the price inside the United States. You can PM me or I'm happy to chat call/text at (870) 450-8479 (Brett Williams-Columbia Missouri)
