New member here..... looking at first PCP rifle.

New guy on the forum.... not new to firearms or guns, I have many but, have never owned a PCP Air rifle before.

I am a lefty and not sure if the side lever would be a hindrance or not...
I am looking at the Airacuda and Airacuda Max but, I also have been looking at getting a AEA SS HP 10 inch semi auto as well.
Will be in .25 caliber regardless .... Most likely will get a air compressor as well since a few friends are getting rifles as well.

Any thoughts on the Airacuda and AEA SS HP models?
I really don't want to go over $600 for the purchase of the gun.

Thanks in advance.

Deciding next airgun for a purpose ( out to 100 yards with pellets on birds/small pests )... please chime in

So I have my little wolfpack down pat with the exception of one thing , long distance shots where collateral damage needs to be considered.... say 80 yards to the top of a silo and be ethical about it
My taipan is super impressive and is my dedicated night gun, small game gun

My caiman is awesome and is my walk around stalk gun for pests , I really friggen love that thing

My uragan has cured my need for power and can take deer and coyote with ease and be my accurate 100 yard hunter

What I'm lacking is, a traditional style rifle for those long shots on the farms at chucks/birds, and it needs to be a pellet rifle as I don't like collateral damage. I do love .25 33.95 jsb and I don't have a .25 , I also kno that pellet is capable of 100 yard, ethical kill shots (obviously depends on the animal)

One option, as much as it pains me because I hate the fanboy hype... is the crown 380mm in .25

The other obvious option is another taipan long .25 but I REALLY don't want another bullpup especially if I'm dedicating a rifle to those longer shots , (again 80 yards to the top of the silo).... I would prefer to keep it a 25 , I think the 34 grain pellet is perfect to retain enough energy down range without retaining too much as to damage things The .22 is not really anything I'm considering and I do not want a .30 for this

video of a proper headshot

this is from a wireless ring doorbell that notifies me when a furry friend comes along

the point he gets startled and knocks over the jar is when I come from around the corner about 15 yards away

he runs up the tree and stays on the branch deciding what to do

I am put my bipods on a cooler and I put both my cross hairs and my laser on him. you can see the green laser

one to the face and he falls and does the dance. ive always been uncomfortable with this regardless of what anyone says; I find that a point blank follow up always stops the dance. so you'll see me coming up on the right side putting another one in him and thats when he stops moving.

.22 AGT vixen, scope + laser under barrel to indicate exact POI regardless of distance. did a lot of tests, first time using this dual siting system in the field so to speak

New to me FWB Sport - Demo Rifle Tested by Ben Pierson

I bought this FWB Sport from Airguns of Arizona on 11/23, it was in the preowned listing and described as used for a video review model. Curious I searched the internet in hopes of finding a review with this rifle. I found the video review Ben Pierson recorded on 10/30/2021 for Airgun101 (Shooting Gear Review) at about 1:35 - 1:45 of the video I noticed a serial number 12400504 on the breech. Today the Sport arrived and after checking the rifle over I looked at the serial number and to my surprise it was a match. As Mr. Pierson stated this is one awesome rifle. I also put 5 shots through it at 25 yards with irons only and shooting off hand 4 of my shots grouped very nicely of which one hole was hit twice (slightly larger than others), my first shot is the one that is off to the right.

Here is the link the the Airgun101 Review: https://www.airgun101.com/68-whiske...view-50-yard-accuracy-this-is-an-break-barrel. I also captured an image of the serial number on the rifle in the video.

Spring noise and vibration were not an issue, she does have a stout recoil but all you need to do is take control, the accuracy is there for sure. This one will be with me for a very long time and a great addition to our family collection.

Tuning  This does not make sense...

Hi O wise ones, I have come to seek your advice.

While tuning my Maverick I am getting results that I do not understand and seem to go against all I have learned about tuning PCP's. The following results are optained from the following:

FX Maverick Sniper,
Superior heavy 700mm slug liner,
Power probe and 11g hammer weight,
Javelin 30G slugs,
Reg1 @ 160 and Reg2 @ 120,
Bottle at 250 to 220 bar,
IHS adjuster tuned max (Results obtained pre fine tune)

At these settings the chrony shows on HS setting 1 the gun is shooting at average 940 FPS, turning it up to the highest setting (7) the velocity drops to around 865 FPS.
This is exactly the opposite of what I am led to believe should happen and is seriously screwing with my tuning attempt. What is going on???

Any advice, comment and insights will be highly appreciated.

Thank you,

Regards

I finally decided to go to work with my HW97

I finally decided to go to work with my HW97 in .177 after months, maybe even a year plus. The round shoot-n-see target was taken at 25 yards rested with Beeman FT Specials and the target with the diamonds on it was taken at 30 yards. I've grown to appreciate working when and if I want to verses having to go to work because I have to.

SOLD [SOLD] Bullet Central Custom FX Impact M3 500mm Carbon Fiber Shroud & Tensioner Kit

Hello AGN:

I have a like new Bullet Central Custom Carbon Fiber Barrel Shroud & Tensioner Kit for the FX Impact 500mm w/ Barrel Clamp. This kit is universal and fits all calibers of 0.30 or smaller (it may fit larger calibers as well but please do your research before purchasing). This kit is very well made and works very well - the tensioner dramatically reduces the flex on the barrel and improves the consistency and accuracy of your rifle. Unit is in excellent, like new condition as shown in the photos below but there's only one fatal flaw on this unit: I really don't like any brass/gold hardware and won't use this kit on my rifle long term (if it had stainless steel accents, I'd keep it). So this very nice kit is free to go to a new home; price here is $150 shipped.

I've got plenty of references here so please feel free to check them on the Member Feedback forum prior to purchasing. Paypal Friends & Family payment is prefered (otherwise, please add 3.5% to cover the fees). Local pickup in the SF Bay Area is available as well.

Thanks!

NLA [TRADED] Genuine Accu-Shot Atlas Picatinny Bipod w/ LaRue Tactical Quick Disconnect

Hello AGN:

Looking to sell my 100% genuine / authentic Accu-Shot Atlas picatinny rail bipod w/ LaRue Tactical quick disconnect. Most of these come with the American Defense ADM-170-S quick disconnect and you don't find these LaRue QD's very often. Love this bipod but I have more bipods than I need so this one can go to a new home where it can get more use. Unit is in excellent condition as shown in the photos below and works perfectly. Price here is $250 shipped.

I've got plenty of references here so please feel free to check them on the Member Feedback forum prior to purchasing. Paypal Friends & Family payment is prefered (otherwise, please add 3.5% to cover the fees). Local pickup in the SF Bay Area is available as well.

My current favorite PCP gun

I am kind of surprised that the one gun I reach for the most (at least lately) is this cheap little Beeman 2027 in .177.

Ridiculously inexpensive ($118), appears to be very well made, good trigger, easy to see "dayglow" sights and it shoots tighter groups than my Prod / Marauder pistol. Easily swapped between pistol and rifle configuration with the Buck Rail kit and a $20 moderator also from Buck Rail to make it even more quiet. The only thing I don't like about it is the gigantic wood pistol stock which was replaced within days of receiving it.

Not that I regret any of my airgun purchases - I enjoy shooting all of them - but if I was given the opportunity to start over from scratch, I would definitely take it and would probably not buy any of the guns I now own or have had the opportunity to shoot extensively, other than the Beeman 2027. As for other guns to get besides the Beeman, probably a Thomas with a benchrest and FT stock and some kind of wood stocked bullpup hunting / FT gun with an externally adjustable regulator and hammer spring, with the option to switch calibers including but not limited to .177, .22, .25, .30 and .35 cal.

I’ve been searching for something that doesn’t exist, I ended up building it on Sunday in my Airgun laboratory - first blood 🩸

Putting together a light weight Airgun has proved to be incredibly difficult challenge.

I want something lightweight, extremely lightweight, with enough power to crack a squirrel or a chipmunk or a bunny. Obviously needs to be accurate. Must be comprised of wood and metal. And it must be 17 caliber.

I started out with a handmade Bowkett pistol (no worries, it can be returned to original configuration). I coupled that with a stock from a 1957 Crossman CO2 rifle.

First I refinish the stock and then opened up the trigger port, and modified the stock to fit the pistol action. I heated up the trigger guard and reconfigured it to fit the modified stock. The trigger guard is now angled in such a way that it’s perfect for offhand shooting. I had to extend the trigger as the original pistol only had a plunger type mechanism. I used a piece of a tweezers, I really like it.

Here are some pictures along the way. The grain in the stock turned out to be absolutely incredible. At least grade 3. Beautiful fiddleback.

The entire package scoped, weighs in at 4 1/2 pounds. Incredible. The scope is a 2 to 7 leupold. I keep it on 2 unless I’m shooting at a target.

The squirrels are almost gone at this point. There’s been one that keeps escaping every time we try to get after it. He didn’t escape today. I thought it was a perfect christening for the new squirrel gun. Penny ran ahead and treed him, and moved him right around the tree to my side. 20 yard offhand shot, lights out. Went to the CV.

I am extremely pleased with the end result.

I also have a 25 falcon that will drop right in.

Mike

NLA WTS: RAW HM1000X RH Walnut Thumbhole Stock .25 Caliber

Sold to cavedweller

Hello Everyone,

I am listing my RAW HM1000X in .25 caliber for sale. I bought it used from Utah Airguns about 2 years ago.
I have not had the time or the place to shoot it ever so it has been sitting in my gun rack. Over a very long period of time the gun will leak down. I have not tried refilling and testing it. I recently bought a reseal kit from RAW but haven't had the time to go through the rifle and replace the orings. I will include the oring kit with the rifle.

The rifle comes with one magazine, a sliding plastic single shot adapter and a hard case.

The rifle scope and rings in the picture are not included in my asking price but I am open to offers for them. It's a Hawke Sidewinder 6-24×56 Half Mil-Dot.

I don't remember if there is any paperwork that came with the rifle. But if there is it is in the box and I will include it. Rifle will be shipped double boxed.
I am looking to get $1300.00 plus half of UPS ground shipping, insurance, signature and UPS driver pickup cost. With the value of the rifle UPS requires drop off at their depot or driver pickup. Since I don't have a depot near by it will have to be driver pickup. The total cost for this should be around $100. I will know the exact amount once I pack up the rifle and have your address to input into the UPS shipping webpage.

I accept PayPal friends and family or goods and services but you have to add the fees. I will sell and ship only to the continental United States. Please contact me via pm. I will entertain reasonable offers. I will curtly decline low ball offers.

Thank you,

Taso

New Stock for the 97K

Picked up a Craftsman Vit in the classifieds and I have got to say I am pretty blown away by it. I can see why so many of you guys use them now. The adjustability is fantastic and down in a FT position everything just steadies up so much better than factory. Plus it looks neat!

  • Question
Do aesthetics affect your buying?

To qualify, do you buy purely for form and practicality be damned? Or are your gun buys purely a matter of function and who cares if it looks like a hot mess? I assume most of us somewhere in between.

I ask specifically because I have been flirting with an AirForce Talon/Escape for awhile. It checks numerous boxes for me. Light, simple, inexpensive, POWERFUL! It should be a no brainer. I just simply can’t get over the “frumpy” looks. It doesn’t look bad by any means but as they say eye of the beholder and all. I just can’t seem to convince myself into it and it boils down to not looking attractive to me.

So convince me I am crazy, or do you all have the same hangups?

Look what UPS dropped off

Finally decided on a Daystate Wolverine HP R in .22.
Got here to late to get out to the range, today would have been perfect, 50 degrees and little to no wind. Next several days kinda looking poor but we’ll see. It really looks nice though. 10.63 pounds with an Element Helix on it.

Well, Fedex strikes again..

Been waiting for a package from UA since the 25th.. Thing went past me to Chicago and has been driving around the area since Thursday.. Now? No scans since yesterday. I've had enough packages not show up or arrive late or damaged with Fedex that I'm not sure why any vendor uses them at all. Maybe I am just the unlucky one in regards to Fedex but it seems highly unlikely. Just Hoping UA insured it (probably did) and will try to trace it for me. I had a trip planned but now I have to sit around waiting for a package that may never come. Have to see if the deposit on the room can be reversed. Not whining, it's just irritating that's all.
