Pest Control Services

Just curious if there is any money at doing pest control with an PCP Air gun. I've seen lots of videos where a PCP seems to be the preferred tool to do pest control especially in high infested areas. Anyone know how much money these services make. Is it a per pest cost or is it an hourly thing? If hourly what rates do you charge?

I'm pretty much talking about rat infestations.

PCP Rifle  SOLD FX Wildcat MK3 700mm .22 & .30

LOVE THIS GUN!
I do not want to sell this gun and do not HAVE to.....but in a financial bind and the money would help.
IMG_9484.JPGIMG_9486.JPGIMG_9496.jpg

Comes with case, DonnyFL/FX .30 moderator, .22 barrel kit (currently installed), .22 0DB moderator, Hawke 6x24x50 scope (model 13321, look up that number on Hawke's website for full details on the glass), and 4 side shot magazines (two in .22, two in .30)

At .30 caliber....... Power settings were pushing the JSB Hades at about 905fps and it's glorious!
Haven't really done much testing in .22 yet (though that barrel is currently installed).

This is stock. I've not done anything to this other than shoot and I LOVE IT. Best air rifle FX makes if you ask me. And I had an Impact M3 and didn't really care for it that much.

Retail Prices:
FX Wildcat MK3: $1,500
Hawke 6x24x50: $560
Barrel Kit: $350
FX/DonnyFL: $100
0DB: $130

DO YOU GUYS WORRY ABOUT MOISTURE IN PCP AIR CHARGING?

I have a question, I am just about ready to order a Air Arms pcp.
My question is about moisture when filling.
It seems like everything except air tanks filled at a scuba shop can hold moisture.
Is moisture a major concern to use a hand pump or cheap compressor to fill your pcp"s.
If I spend $1600 on a PCP, I do not want to screw it up.
Does moisture kill the inside of a chamber or am I thinking to much into this?
Please share your wisdom.

PCP Rifle  SOLD FX Impact MKII Compact .177

Excellent condition. Hard to find any marks on this gun. Sift touch cheek piece. Don’t have the original. Regulator at 120bar. Tuned to shoot JSB Monster Redesigned 13.43 gr and FX 13.4 grain at PW#4. Ton of shots, even with the heavier pellets. Shoot both pretty equally well but I think the Monster Redesigns have a slight edge. A mostly full tin (what is left) will be included. Stud shaker and two speed loaders included. Gun holds air and shoots well with no issues.

Like new, Element Optics Helix 4-16-44 FFP MIL APR1C, clean reticle. Optisan 20MOA one piece mount is included. If the gun buyer does not want the scope and mount, only then well I sell it separately. I will not sell the scope before the gun. The gun purchaser has first dibs on the scope and mount. Everything in the box from the factory.

$1600 TYD sighted in and shoot-ready with the scope.
$1200 gun only TYD. SOLD

***Scope and mount is still available for $400***

I’m paying shipping so my prices are firm. it costs darn near $100 to ship guns nowadays with insurance.

My collection is growing.

I started my airgun journey this winter which is fairly recent. I had fallen down the rabbit hole as people say. My collection has grown from none in December to now seven in April. Because of this I had to create a storage solution. I made this gun rack to hold the Airguns I really like. It really frees up some table space in my little makeshift workshop(frees up space for new Airguns in the future). I know the pine board might be a little ugly but it’s what I had sitting around. I thought soaking in some teak oil would help. I think it makes it look a little better.

Panthera hunter availability

So there are a couple videos out of a much shorter compact version of the panthera they seem to be calling the hunter. A couple months ago they said it was going to be available in a week or so. I’m typical FX fashion, I haven’t heard any more about it.
Has anyone heard any more about this setup? With its compact nature, and the new magic juice in the panthera block, not to mention the plenum around the barrel making for a sturdier barrel system. it’s something I can see myself getting behind as long as the price isn’t crazy.

Noise Level: .30 Cal vs .22 Cal

I picked up an FX Impact M3 (700mm barrel) in .22 a few weeks ago. My first airgun... and I am enjoying it immensely.

I currently shoot centerfire short-range benchrest (Score) and am contemplating giving 100-yard airgun benchrest a try. .30 Cal is the obvious choice in that discipline, at that distance (although I'm aware that Dusty Powers turned that accepted wisdom on its head when he won last year's RMAC using a .22). With that in mind - and since FX makes changing calibers easy to do without a lot of cost - can I ask what difference, if any, going from .22 to .30 would mean in terms of noise?

One of the really beguiling things I'm finding with regard to airguns is not having to wear hearing protection.

THE PCP UMBILICAL CORD?

We often see, mostly on YOUTUBE these guys selling or promoting a PCP gun and have their reserve air tank connected to their rifles. I can never tell if the tank valve is always open or off just so they don't have to disconnect to fill the guns tank.

Not that it matters either way but if I have my big reserve tank at 4000 psi I would think that they only have the umbilical cord connected just to save them time from dis or connecting the air line.

I've noticed that some or most of my rifles stop filling once the pressure hits around 3k. But there's all these warnings to NEVER over fill.

Nothing here about this post that means much, just something that makes me wonder. To me, it would seem like the air hose would get in the way more than be a benefit.

Shotgun Airgun Hunters. Hello!!! Anybody Out There?

Where are the AGN shotgun hunters? The hunting forum is full of pesters of pesky rodents and invasive species birds. Then there are the deer, squirrel, and rabbit hunters and a few turkey hunters. But where are the quail, grouse, pheasant, duck, and geese hunters?

Below are some interesting links on the topic. These links showcase a few air powered shotguns and their capabilities.

PBBA Pro bringing home a few ducks

PBBA Pro knocking geese out of the sky. I enjoyed this one.

UpNorth Airgunner discussing tungsten shot for turkey hunting and demonstrating the spread from a Seneca Wing Shot II

I’ll add more links as I come across them. It doesn’t seem that the air powered shotgun gets much love here. Since this is Airgun Nation, let’s do something about that. I don’t know much about air powered shotguns, but I’ve been curious about them for a little while now. I don’t expect them to put out 12 gauge PB power, but I think they have their place in small game and avian hunting. Here is where I want to see what’s going on. If you have experience hunting small game and especially fowl with air powered shotguns, let’s hear about it. In fact let’s see some photos.

What are you bringing to the Toys That Shoot show this Saturday?

I decided to start a new thread even though there are a couple going already. This one is for those of us planning to attend and bringing stuff for sale/trade.

So what do you have and what are you looking for?

I’ll start:
For sale/trade
Daisy 117 in the box
AA T200 .177 with two tanks (one reg’d)
Quackenbush Brigand .375

I’m looking for:
P-Rod
1720t

Mods - I’m not trying to circumvent the classifieds. These are items that I’m taking to the show and not for sale here (yet?)

Shoebox F10 help ....

Wore out all my china compressors & been back to using the once trusty SHOEBOX F10
It stopped pumping last week so figured time for a rebuild of pistons.

new 90d buna check valve o-rings both cylinders, 2 each 90d poly on each pump rod .... What the heck !!!
It only SLOWLY makes @ 2100 psi and just stops pumping any higher.

Pump rods adjusted to stop against the check valves w/o opening them by contact.

No audible air leaks or bubbles from soapy water at all fittings etc ...

What am i missing ???

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

High end optics, guys who have owned low budget, "mid level" , and top tier scopes chime in

For once I am really happy with my line up of rifles, they all perform, all have a task and all make me happy. With that said I am assessing my line of optics (glass only, no digital/nv/thermal in this thread).

I have used many different optics from UTG Leapers to Element Optics Titan (this one was my all time favorite) , during NAC I used 2 Discovery Optics 5-25x56 PRS Scopes with Jap ED glass. At the price point of $400.00 it blew everyone away who looked through and used it.

People who have owned all levels of scope, whats the difference between say a Titan, or Athlon Ares vs an NX8 or say a Theos? what warrants the difference in price? (I know its all really subjective but I would love to hear everyones thoughts)

Primos Trigger Stick Bipod Anti-Wobble

I bought a Primos trigger stick bipod to shoot off of. I would just be getting my shot lined up and the head would wobble about the leg pivot points. I came up with this idea to remove the wobble. I had a plate laser cut and clamped the legs to it with 5/8" cable loops/clamps. The top edge of the plate rests against the bottom edge of the head. With the legs fixed in position the head isn't able to wobble. The only downside is my legs are in a fixed position but I don't really think that is a negative. I'm still able to make use of the leg length adjustment via the trigger, my head doesnt wobble and my legs dont go out of position.

FX Maverick - can it be tuned very low for quiet, close-range/backyard use?

I'm considering a Maverick .177 or .22 for low-power, close-range, low-noise backyard use. Although the Maverick is a somewhat higher-powered rifle, can it be tuned-down to a very low level, while retaining excellent accuracy? (Of course I would use it with a moderator, like a Huggett Snipe.)

My other rifle is a .22 BRK Ghost, which I have tuned-down to 800 fps / 26 fpe with 18.13 gr. Jumbos. So, with the Maverick, I'd like to go even lower in power, perhaps a bit below 20 fpe.

Would choosing the Maverick in .177 be better (than choosing .22) for this purpose of achieving the low-power, low-noise objective? Or would just using a fairly light pellet, like 15 gr, in .22 be just as suitable?

Any idea how low (in velocity or fpe, .177 or .22) could the Maverick go and still have excellent accuracy at close range, such as 20-25 yards?

Watch out for this guy!!!

Chris Kaegi @Ctkny not only placed 7th in the 100y Sportsman’s Class, but he also stole 3rd place in the Sportsman class Precision Shooters Challenge!!!

Gone and done a stupid thing…

So I was reading something on the net and they suggested putting a few drops of pelgunoil in a tin of pellets and shooting it. Well I tired it and soaked the pellets then shot it through my pp700sa. Omg that was a mistake cuz it began to shoot everywhere. It was shooting one holes in 10 meters now it’s the size of a fist. Can I wash the pellets with soapy water and dry? Should I clean out the barrel with hopped and also dry patches?

I thought this would improve I guess not.
