This FX Superior Smooth Twist X Barrel Liner (Superior STX Barrel Liner) was created using the same innovative exterior-pressed rifling, but using upgraded techniques and tighter tolerances for greater precision. The Superior STX will shoot both pellets and slugs with improved accuracy over the regular STX barrel liners. Shooters will see the greatest accuracy from FX's new .25 caliber Hybrid Slugs using the Superior STX barrel liner. This 700mm version gives you a little more speed than the shorter versions, making it ideal for long-range shooting. If you're looking for an easy way to upgrade your FX air rifles.

Wildcat power drop?

After talking up my WC MK3 BT on some other posts today, I thought I would get it out and do some shooting. Noticed a 20fps drop in velocity. Same tune I've always used. My "magic tune" for hades pellets. Same tune, same hammer weight, same hammer tension screw adjustment, same power wheel setting. 20 fps slower.
I took the hammer weight, spring, etc out and inspected. All checked out.
Shooting consistent and accurate, but a 20 fps drop.
Anybody know what could be causing this?

Moderator Questions

I have a kalibrgun cricket 2. I would say its moderately loud. I would like to make it less noise

Two questions should I get a .25 calibur moderator instead of a .22 to reduce the chance of clipping? What are pros and cons of this thinking?

Anyone have experience with this brand? Seems very afforadble compared to other options ive looked at.

Here is my gun. Doesnt say anything about a moderator.

Tuning  Vortek 'SHO' for HW50S in .177?

I recently received an Vortek 'SHO' HW50S tuning kit (PG4, including piston seal) acquired for installation into a new .177 caliber HW50S.

Has anyone installed an SHO kit into a .177 rifle before? The order I placed from Vortek indicated that the kit offered (PG4) was 'HO' and the kit I got actually has a different part number from what was listed on the website.

I don't have a problem with using the kit but don't want to install the wrong kit for my application (.177), if the SHO kit is intended for larger caliber applications (.20, .22).

I have a contact message in to Vortek but have not received any response (Sunday). Any info from experienced installers/tuners appreciated, thanks in advance! :)

Shout Out To Bigragu

I had been shooting my HW44 in my cold barn and choose to leave it overnight for a day or two, and when I brought it back inside, I discovered that I had a leak. I remembered reading that another AGN member that also had a leaky HW44 and sent it out to Bigragu. So I reached out to Augie and kept my fingers crossed that he would also repair mine, and sure enough Augie responded right away, and agreed to have a look. This ended up working out perfect for me as I had to go out of town for work and within hours after arriving back home, my repaired HW44 was delivered! I was really impressed with his communication, quality work and speedy 1 week and back in my hands, and this included shipping from MI to CA! I had no worries at all dealing with Augie, and highly recommend to consider Augie/Bigragu for any type of AG repairs.

Thanks Augie!

your favorite .22 bullpup...for shooting slugs between 20-25 grains

I'm a bullpup fan. There are a lot of good ones out there. Taipan, Vulcan, Wildcat, and many more...I'd like to here those with experience as to which you would say is the best; or at least your favorite. Thanks!
PS-I have a .22 Taipan Veteran and I like it pretty well but it seems to be limited in the power department. Also, a bottle would be nice...

PCP Rifle  SOLD Custom AA S200 Bullpup 177 magazine fed W/ Moderator

For sale/ trade is an awesome little bullpup.

Made some modifications like a quick fill port using a standard foster type fill fitting. Had a faulty Pressure gauge, and I've had excellent luck with this procedure on my personal guns.

Just resealed cylinder.

I added a very sturdy rail for mounting a scope.

Moderator included, very quiet and looks great too. The Pup is shooting near factory setpoint, can be made to shoot faster but had no need to adjust power.

Can include a 4x duplex scope for free, or a crosman 3-12 side focus scope w/ rings for $70 more.

I also have other scopes for sale if interested just ask.

Asking for $575 $450

Will trade for ProSport in 177, or maybe a tx200 in 177, or other springers in .20.

10x scope for a springer?

Im looking for a scope for my tx200hc, I mssg “Cyclops” on youtube and he suggested the SWFA 10x42 . I like fixed power scopes but Im thinking 10 power might be a bit much for a springer. SWFA also has a 6x42 SS which I think might be better for a springer. Cyclops says SWFA fixed power scopes are also springer air gun rated . Your thoughts?

Traditional Rifle  NLA SIG ASP 20 .22 with Hawke scope

Hello All,
I have 2 SIG ASP 20 rifles for sale, this is the second of the two. As much as I love them I have to let go. I recently moved to St.Croix, US Virgin Island and the house I am renting is on a hill by the beach. High winds ,15 to 22 knots are the norm, and calm days are rare and far in between. It's just impossible to enjoy shooting on my backyard range with pellets and I find my recently purchased PCP rifle much more accurate with slugs. The SIGs shine on calm or relatively calm days with JSB hades or AA falcn 16 grains where they can almost put them.in one hole at 40 yards. On windy days though those groups open up significantly and it's driving me insane.. Same windy days my BRK Ghost with fx hybrids will do one hole. So letting these two go.
$1000 TYD insured, in their original box. Can do a bit better if I ship with the action removed from the stock in a smaller box.
Paypal friends ans family or add the fee to pay for goods and services. Shipping from here for such an item insured is around $180 so forgive the hefty price.
Those who know what these rifles are know their worth.
Let me know if you have questions or want to see more pics. Lastly attached a pic of my backyard range on a lovely calm day...

GX CS4 Compressor - Initial Impressions

I recently obtained a GX CS4 compressor direct from GX Pumps. They shipped quickly and it arrived a couple days later, well packaged and in good condition. It came with an assortment of tools, seals, rings, o-rings and springs, so looks like it has the parts needed for a complete rebuild, if needed. Based on other comments here, I flushed the cooling system with distilled water, drained it and refilled with a 50/50 pre-mix of Dexcool anti-freeze.

I ran a quick pressure test and was quite impressed with the speed at which it reached 400 BAR/5800 PSI! It's also very quiet, in fact, it's the quietest compressor I've ever owned and I've had quite a few over the years! Here's a quick video of the pressure test so you can here it running and see how fast it reached it's max capacity:

This is a 4 stage compressor running at a fairly low RPM, yet it makes nearly 10 BAR of pressure per stroke!

After ensuring everything was operating correctly, I filled my LSC SK-19's 580cc tank from 150 BAR to 250 BAR. This fill only took about a minute and the temerature of the compressor barely rose 4 degrees!

I did add a temperature Gauge, not that it's needed with how cool this compressor runs, but I just like seeing what's happening when filling!

IMG_2499.jpg

Here are some pictures of what's under the hood:

IMG_2525.jpg

This is the 4 stage compression chamber with cooling fins covering the entire outer cylinder.

IMG_2526.jpg

This is the 350X motor driving this beast and providing cooling air to the radiator.

IMG_2527.jpg

The auto shutoff pressure gauge is really top notch! Much nicer than what comes on most lower end Chinese compressors. It has 2 set needles, I'm assuming one is a back-up in case thefirst doesn't work. I set it at 400 BAR. The second I set at my desired fill capacity. I will say I have found the gauge to be very accurate, much more so that most of the compressors I have owned.

IMG_2529.jpg

This is the resivoir for the cooling system. The whole self-contained system hold about 1 liter of water/coolant.

IMG_2531.jpg

Here's another angle of the radiator.

IMG_2533.jpg

Here is the burst disk and grease pot, both these are accessible with the cover on the compressor.

IMG_2534.jpg

The intake filts elbow was swing loose when I first opened it up, so I snugged it down so it wasn't loose. I'm not sure what the white part is attached to the head, but think it might be a temperature sensor.

IMG_2535.jpg

Here is the main controller board.

IMG_2515.jpg

When you remove the top of the grease pot, you can see the grease inside. The manual says to turn the knob on the top of the grease pot one full turn every 4-6 hours of operation. I need to contact GX and ask what type of greese to use, just to have some on hand if needed down the road.

IMG_2516.jpg

The rest of the grease inside the grease pot.

IMG_2514.jpg

This is how it looks with the cover on it, you can see the knob has arrows showing the direction to turn it when needed.

GX Claims this compressor has a 5 hour run cycle and is rated to fill up to a 6.8L air tank! Seeing that the temperature gauge barely moved when topping off the 580cc tank on the SK-19, I have no doubt that heat is not a huge problem with this compressor!

Amazon is selling these for $699.99 plus tax, but buying direct from GX Pumps, you can save over $100! They are currently on sale for $659.99, but by using the coupon code [GXPUMPS10OFF] it brings it to $593.99 shipped.

Thus far I am really quite impressed with the feature of this compressor for it's price point! It seems very solid and built to last. If interested, check out what they offer direct, they seem to alway have several different models in stock and on sale!

If you have any questions, please post them below and I'll try my best to answer them.

Hello and Steyr?

Hello just joined, but have been a lurker for a while.
I’m interested in getting a steyr air pistol, and I’m not sure about something.
It seems to me that the lp50 is sold in different velocity models. I wondered if the HP can be throttled back if one wants to stretch out the tank to get more shots?
Can the single shot evo10 be adjusted up to get a little more velocity to shoot 25 yards and beyond.
I don’t want a pistol for only 10 meter competition.
Any and all advice welcomed.
Thanks
Fred
