Kalibrgun  Cricket 1 vs 2

Hello guys, I have been into airguns for a few years, started off on the james ketchings fun supply forum back in the day and the yellow forum.

Been off and on with airguns due to life and such. Recently joined gateway to airguns and today joined this forum to get back into it.

Looking to buy a high end bullpup as a hunter. Currently have an air arms 410 old model, accurate as heck but a bit heavy and long. Also have a talon ss(first pcp 20 years ago) that i recently got working and installed a reg on. Like the size but power with the reg is a bit low and urganomics is bad

So figure bite the bullet and buy once cry once lol

I have decided on getting a cricket and was planning on a cricket 2 .22 from charlie at Georgia airguns. Very nice guy and helpful.

Tempted on the cricket mini as its nice looking and 300 bucks cheaper at 1550 on sale. But already have a rifle and its a bit lower power than cricket 2.

However i have seen a few cricket 1s on the classified here for MUCH cheaper. So I was thinking maybe buy a used cricket 1 and send it to Charlie to work his magic. However besides the cocking lever being moved to the front, what are the differences between the cricket 1 and 2 ? Is the cricket 2 much improved?

I cant find any comparisons it seems and not much info on crickets in general. Most seem to be about the tactical model(not interested) or people talking about the 25 cals shooting slugs.

So does anybody have any info on differences between them? Is a new gen 2 worth 700 bucks or so more than a used cricket 1? I will be shooting pellets and maybe try out slugs for fun but if slugs dont shoot well not really worried.

Hey Mike ...

@thomasair , Its been a spell since I've seen any of your awesome targets from your magnificent BR rifles. Can you help a guy out who is siting on pins and needles trying my best to be patient? If you are resting up after the nationals then that is an acceptable excuse because no doubt you and the rest of the N50 crew need a break. Thanks buddy.

BSA  And Now For Something Completely Different— BSA R10 SE Walnut HP Thumbhole .25

In contrast to my last, high tech’ post I just picked a BSA R10 SE Walnut HP Thumbhole .25 up from AOA. about as old school elegant as you can get. Yep, it’s bolt action but unlike the older iteration Gamo sells as the Urban .22, a nice gun for the price, the R10s are still carefully put together at the BSA facility and the bolt is slick and precise. The wood stock (I believe it’s sourced from Minnelli in Italy) is a work of art standing aside from the rest of the finely finished gun. Old school at its best and a steal at $899 for the HP version at AOA. (I believe they have a non HP in .177 for $100 less.)

When I sold off the majority of my firearm collection, I kept a handful of those I thought were just too special to part with. One of those was my Lee-Speed in .303. These were built by BSA on Lee Enfield actions but hand crafted, engraved and with select wood. This R10 has the same look and feel. I think I have found another keeper.

Advice needed

How do you sell above mentioned air rifle. I bought it new but its to heavy for me, has less than 100 shots. It is just absolutely too heavy for this old man. I have damaged both shoulders and can't shoot it except on a rest or gun vise. Like brand new and shoots exceptional also has the 1/2 x20 adaptor I ordered. I am totally new to pcps and air gun forums. I need a Umarex notos if I can sell this. Can someone please give this 74 yr old disabled old mansome pointers as where to start. Also not very computer litterate.
Thanks for reading Larry

Party crashers dealt with accordingly. 34g JSB at 725 FPS. *NOTE - I was asked to clarify, and upon listening to my short video, left out some pertinent info. When I recovered the animal and bagged it for disposal it was limp, showing no signs of life. The following morning, I noticed that it had moved from where i placed it. When I retrieved it, it gave indications of life, so I quickly added 2 rounds to the head, and it commenced another death dance. If you watch towards the end you can see it do that dance with it's shadow reflecting off the background.

N/A  1st time I have no Big Bores in the house.

I started this PCP jurney 17 years ago and my 1st gun was a Shin Sung Career ULTRA .357, my 2nd gun was a Sam Yang 909s .45,
since then I cannot even count how many Big bores have come and gone in my house.

Well this week end I sold all the 3 REX .357s that I have and this is the first time in 17 years that I have no Big Bore PCP.

Times are changing :)

HW/Weihrauch  HW30 v HW50

I have been looking for an HW30 in 177 for a while now and have one on preorder, but I thought I would take a look to see if I could find an HW50. No luck in .177 but while looking at the respective specs of each a question came to mind. Is a 50 just a 30 with 3 more inches of barrel length? Just looking at the specs it seems it might be.

HW/Weihrauch  .20 cal. Weihrauch Specials

Rain day, you got to like it. Gives me much more shooting time. Today I pulled out the .20 cal. rifles.
IMG_6790.jpeg
R-L HW30, HW50, HW90, HW95, R9, HW97 and HW98. Hard to believe I was one of those guys that said, no choice of pellet, had to find and no better. Well if I was an Egyptian king and they were going to put me in my pyramid to rest. All my .20 cal. rifles would be in there with me. And a few tins of JSB’s.
The 30 right from the first shot was flawless at 30 yds. Might have 150 rounds through this gun and already promising.
IMG_6791.jpeg
Next up the HW50 and it took off just like the 30. Little more juice. Such a near perfect gun. Begging for a challenge.
IMG_6792.jpeg
This next gun is exceptional. A HW90. Am totally blown away shooting this gun. What a treat. Absolutely in a league of its own. Ever since I turned from 24 bar to 18 bar. This is the real deal and it means business. One of these rain days I’ll adjust to different bars and crony. This gun has the best record for cutting a can in half, 33 rounds of my rifles.
IMG_6793.jpeg
This next one is possibly one of the best hunting guns available, HW95. Just got recently at AOA. Keeper. No complaints, easy to operate and accurate.
IMG_6794.jpeg
This next one was my first .20 cal. and it easily convinced me I made the right decision. An identical twin to the 95, a R9. Love shooting the rifle.
IMG_6795.jpeg
Now this HW97 is insane accurate to shoot. It’s the only gun with a Vortek spring, nite and day diff. Once I got this rifle I was convinced of .20 cal. I have all 4cal. of the 97 and this one steals the show. Great gun.
IMG_6798.jpeg
This 98 I just got and it behaved like a really spoiled kid. Lead was flying everywhere. Shot for 3 days and breaking in nicely. Going to be a keeper. Looking forward to putting sprig kits in all these.
IMG_6799.jpeg
One thing that I did notice that the pellets in all the .20 cal. we’re very tight fitting. The 98 I have to push in with the back of my thumb nail and I mean push.
Are all .20 cal. like that?
None of my other cal. are any where near that tight.
The only rounds I have are JSB 13.73 and H&N Baracudas. This week I have tins held at AGS of 15.89 .20, finally. This is an amazing caliber. Crow

Preferred seat for HFT

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to get my last bit of gear for HFT. I am struggling to find a chair. Theres so many options some good some meh. I need something 17-18 inches tall or taller. What are chairs that can support 300lbs and stil be sturdy that people like?

Ive been trying to find a 5 gallon bucket/seat combo that would work. However it seems like I cant find one. I also wonder if this is a viable option if the ground isnt perfectly flat.

I appreciate any ideas you can provide.
