Western Airguns  Rattler doesn't fire but once

So I have a Western airgun rattler 30 cal. I have only used it a hand full of times. This is mainly because it developed an air leak at the rear gage and Ive had it in the attic for 6 months. After putting the wrong o ring in it still leaked until I replaced it with the correct one today. After getting the leak fixed I took it out back ready for some fun. It shot one time accurately and wouldn't shoot again. Like there is no pressure or tension on the trigger. After waiting around for about 7 minutes I heard the gun click. So I pulled the trigger and it shot. Then back to the same thing. It's holding air and all of that is fine. I let all the air out and filled it back up twice only for it to continue to do the same. Honestly I need help with a self fix. I can't afford to send it in or ship it for the warranty. Any ideas . I've uploaded a video as well and as I stated it takes about 7 minutes to reset. Also full auto only fires once. Thanks

PCP Pistol  SOLD Custom Prod 22 with Double Tube SOLD

I'm probably going to regret selling this, but I haven't shot it in awhile it's a great shooting little lite weight carbine, but I bought a GK1 22 so this one needs a new home. It has the R.A.I stock adapter with a very nice adjustable stock with a single point sling attachment, 3 mags, UTG picatinny rail under the air tube, a Donnyfl 1/2x20 mod adapter and a Cothran trigger, it's non-regulated but I've been getting 24 to 32 shots shooting JSB 15.89 Jumbos from my old notes H-782 L-714, I fill to 2700psi because that's the best for higher fps starting out. I'm just wanting to sale to thin the herd a little, scope not included. Asking $525 free shipping and insurance....Thanks Terry

HW/Weihrauch  Peeps Open My Eyes

I thought I had some limited experience with peep sights, but mostly because of the battle rifles I used during my Army career. But recently a member here (Beard Of Grayling) got interested in improving the Williams Foolproof Sight by designing and crafting an extension, iris and sunshade for it. It was never intended to be a production item for profit and only a few were made, which he made available to members. I was one of the lucky ones and it has been a revelation to me how much difference an extension, reduced iris size and sunshade can make.

Here it is on my HW30S, which I just bought when I knew I was going to get the package from him.
IMG_0853.jpg

As I said, only a few were produced or I would buy a few more for some other rifles. So, I turned to the internet shopping pages and was reminded how very expensive target aperture sights are. This brings up a few questions for those with the knowledge and experience I lack:

1. What is the sweet spot financially, where you are not wasting money on junk, but are getting a reasonably good aperture sight (that includes an extension, sunshade and adjustable or changeable iris, and that can be mounted on 11mm dovetails)?

2. What exactly is it that accounts for the high price of these things? I assume precise, reliable, repeatable and accurate adjustments for elevation and windage accounts for part, but I just shoot at 10 meter bullseye targets in my back yard and will only set them once for zero. So, what else makes them worth so much money?

Thanks for any education you are willing to give me (and thanks again to bog).

PCP Pistol  SOLD Weihrauch HW44 Incredible .177 F/S $750

Pains me to sell this as it’s so nice. I have two, one in .22 and had a hard time deciding which one to let go. Small cosmetic mark shows on pic but is completely superficial and can’t be felt. That’s the only thing I could see signs of use. Comes with fill probe and mag. $800 shipped! More pics if you’d like.

Accessories  SOLD Booster Pump Reduced Price

I’m selling my Booster pump. This thing works great it will let you keep topping off your guns even when your tank has dropped below a useful level.I have toyed with the idea of using Nitrogen which most of the time comes in large tanks with a pressure of up to 6500 psi this could really come in hand as Nitrogen is not cheap. If this is you or a scuba tank guy this will allow you to get many more fills. This also comes with a line gauge for those guns with no gauge . I’m selling it and a in-line gauge for $600 shipped to lower 48 states. Feel free to text 812-449-1963 Mike.

Brass vs Aluminum mould

Looking at a mould on NOE and I see that the 4 cavity mould is out of stock but available in brass, is there any pros or cons of a brass mould vs aluminum? Would like to get into casting for this setup as I could use it as a relaxing thing to do outside with Peri my dog over the winter as we both love the winter and its cost effective as well vs buying produced ammo.

Plus ive already got a melting pot, a noe pedestal, press, and the sizing dies I need from an old setup.

Tuning  Pellets POI shifting after shooting slugs ?

Hello , I noticed several times something which seems strange to me : after shooting slugs from one of my guns ,especialy Kalibrgun Tactical 60 ( which shoots slugs quite accurately ) or even FX Maverick , the POI has shifted when I shoot pellets . Did somebody of you notice the same problem ? I can't see clearly the reason , but it happens quite often to me.
Thanks

Steyr  Steyr LG110 HFT

I had to redo a couple HFT rigs this week. i was missing shots for no apparent reason except perhaps i was ranging wrong at further distances and or my dope was off.
Although this may seem field target related, it applies to all of us air gunners who use ballistic program apps.
Thanks to a wise ol dog, this ol dog learned some new tricks.
Prior to this week I would zero at the top of my apex and then use StrelokPro for my dope. Missed lots of shots but figured it was me. Turns out if you zero at say, 30 yards then go back to 10 yards and do an actual shot and measure actual POI for holdover, StrelokPro will be off a niggle.
Well, turns out if you tweak your center of scope to center of barrel measurement in StrelokPro so it matches the actual shot at 10 yards - Shazam.
In my Steyr’s case every StrelokPro holdover point was still perfect from 10 yards to zero, BUT after my zero point StrelokPro started to get wonky as in showing greater hold overs then necessary.
I had to shoot yard by yard shots from 44 yards (end of my trajectory apex) to 60 yards to create actual true dope after my zero point.
My Steyr is now shooting a basically flat trajectory from about 24 yards to 44 yards.
Longest flattest apex of any of my airguns.

Now what to do about standing and kneeling shots🥴

FX "winged" pellets ?

Hello , I've heard that FX had improved the quality of their pellets with better process , new dies , etc.... so I ordered a tin of .22 18grs , and that's what I get
IMG_2090.JPG

About one pellet on twenty had these "wings" . I don't know how they do the quality control , but I can affirm that there's a problem , at least in the box I get !!!! I throwed the entire box to the trash.......unless FX tried a new kind of "winged pellets" ? I should try to shoot them , maybe ..... 😄 .

First critter caught with PARD (NO KILLS)

I just received my Pard today. I was excited to see how it looks with an IR flood light I have set up in my yard.
Everything looks great and I caught this guy snacking. I enjoy watching the flying squirrels. It amazes me how small they are.

In case you are wondering, this is the flood light I have set up.
