FX USA IS FIXING GUNS!!! WORRY NOT!!!

FX USA is currently fixing all the guns that customers have sent in as of the first half of October. As you can probably assume from recent events, there is a slight delay. The tech department is still here working to support the FX customers. Thank you for your continued patience as we navigate through this situation.

Have I breached an etiquette by inquiring into airgun supressor technology

I am new to airguns and am enthusiasticly interested in modern pcp technology which is novel and new to me.
I posted questions out of intellectual curiosity and have now been banned from responding to member classifieds.

I served in the Marine Corps and keep my honor clean, nothing up my sleeve.

Am I banned from making purchases from member classified now?

Is it normal to buy 12,000 pellets at once? CROSMAN20 sale at Pyramid Air

I just realized I ran out of my go to pellet, the .22 Crosman Premier Hollow Point.
I pulled up Pyramid Air and noticed they were having a Crosman 20% off sale.
As you may know, they also have a buy 3 tins get the 4th free. I figured one would cancel the other out, as often is the case with sales, but not so with this sale.
Next up was trying to get free freight at $150.
Well...24 tins later I'm at $165!
That comes out to 1.375¢/pellet, down from 2.3¢/pellet.
I'm not afraid to spend money on something I'll use but man I'm still a cheap son of a gun!

Suggested FPS for 25 cal

Recently purchased a Umarex Gauntlet 2 25 cal. Which, I am really enjoying. However, not sure if I am getting the fps correct. Currently do not have a chronograph. Everything is stock, the regulator is 2100, and using JSB Match Diabolo Exact King MKII Heavy .25 Cal. Which have been working well. Wondering am I going to light or heavy. Live in the Midwest and getting cold going into winter.

New Garmin XERO C1 Chrono vs FX Pocket Chrono V2

I know it's brand new, but curious what you all think about the new Garmin Chrono spec wise. It seems to be a high end version of the FX Chrono more based for powder burners as the FX has a 1250 FPS limit while the Garmin goes up to 5000 FPS. Neither have the down range measurement capabilities that the Labradar and FX True Ballistics currently have.

I'm curious if anyone has any experience "pre release" and can share their thoughts if the Garmin Chrono is worth the premium of over 2x $ over the FX. And of course this is based on exclusive use for sub 1250 FPS.

Daystate  Redwolf standard or hp in 177 for sub 20FPE?

Hello everyone,

I'm about to order a Daystate Redwolf midnight in 177. I expect it to be my primary field target rifle, primarily hunter division so will be running it below 20fpe mostly, maybe sub 12fpe should I chose to in the future.

Are there any pro's or cons to going with the standard vs the HP?

Daystate  Easier to control rifles.

After shooting for many years Bull Pups, semi Bull Pups, recently the Panthera, Sidewinder, bla, bla, bla... The fact is that Wolverines and Red Wolf, for me, are much easier to control.

So no matter if all are equally accurate, my shooting is better with the Wolverines and Red Wolf because I am able to control them the better.

Today I went to my shooting club, with the Wolverine .30 Cal HP non HR, at the 200 mts (220 yards) range I was able to hit (not centered but touch it) a stone the size of a golf ball. That would be the 24th shot I made with that rifle .... So the rifle is a natural.

FX  Is a single reg maverick a possibility?

I recently acquired a maverick from a member here. While it did need a little love (reflected in the price), I would say all in all, it was a good deal. I bought it specifically to shoot 25cal, but it came with 22 barrels so I started by shooting the nsa 20.2 slugs. So far at 40yds it’s a tac driver with them. I do however need to do some fine tuning. While I’ve heard the dual reg system is a great system, In my eyes, not only is it a longer project to tune, but has more parts to go bad. The M3 has a lot of aftermarket help with single reg conversions, but I haven’t seen any for the maverick. I have seen that Ernest Rowe himself converted a maverick to a single reg by somehow removing the rear reg, and at the same time creating a stupidly large plenum. While the plenum isn’t that big a deal for me, I’d love to be able to delete that Resd reg. Any ideas how this is possible??

Thanks in advance.

Thomas HPX, The wait was well worth it!

In this day and age of instant gratification it was difficult (for me) to wait for my dream rifle to arrive but all said and done it was worth it. The rifle was packed securely and double boxed and upon arrival there was no visible damage to it upon opening the box.

IMG_7493.jpeg

Next up was to sight this puppy in. I jokingly told Mike that it must be defective because it took me three shots to zero it in. He promptly replied to pack it up and he would look it over... On second thought ….. naaaaaah.
IMG_7494.jpeg

That sight in was yesterday. I live in a rural residential village and my neighbors don’t appreciate loud rifles being shot in close proximity to their homes so 3 shots were about all I could let fly without folks coming out with frowns to greet me so I put it away for the night.

Today I made a trip to the range to put it on the bench and see what this gem could do at 50Y. Even though we had sustained winds of 15 and gusts to 24 I was pleasantly surprised that the HPX puts lead where you tell it to if you can read the wind correctly? The misses were all my fault for bad wind calls.

Here are first two targets:

I was experimenting with several different batches of FX and JSB MRDs, deep and (old) shallow cavities and they all performed slightly differently so it’s going to take a while for me to learn what this rifle likes best and what position it prefers atop of the Arnold rest. All pellets shot VERY well but there were some minor differences in POI between different pellets. Lots of experimentation ahead but all in all I am thrilled with my new HPX. I was particularly impressed with the lack of vertical stringing. The horizontal misses were missed calls, all on me.

Our outdoor season is nearing an end with only 1 match left to shoot this Saturday. I’m so looking forward to N50 2024!
Thanks again Mike for building a rifle that I am likely not worthy to own.

Want More Info on FX USA Lawsuit? Customer Guns discussed.

A little birdie told me that
IMG_0996.jpeg
customers guns were discussed in recent proceedings and those records can be found in the link below. I have not looked through the documents so I can’t point you in the exact location.

Here is the link, it is the link to the main court page. Look for the search box in upper right and type in Rumpegarden and search, the case should come up. This site does not work well with Safari so I used Google.

I found something, depends on how much you trust Jon.

No bargains in used airguns I guess

I just realized, or decided, after attending a local show, that there are no good deals to be had by buying non-working air guns and making them work. I saw several guns of different descriptions at the show for $20 and less. But seal kits and parts are so expensive that they are not worth rebuilding. Often a seal kit costs two or three times the price of the gun. I'm disappointed.
I guess I can quit watching eBay for fixer-uppers.

Congratulations to Carmen Papaleo and Giovanni Atzeni

The Italian Air Rifle Benchrest Championships were concluded recently and Carmen Papaleo came out on top….winning Heavy Varmint with a score of 746 40x. Giovanni Atzeni was a very close second place with a 746 38x.

I thank them very much for choosing Thomas Air rifles as their competition platform.

[Not a troll] Where are FX PCPs made?

Hi all, first I am very disappointed with the FX news and feel for all in the hobby who are impacted.

That said, where are FX PCPs made? I have been viewing the classifieds and see many FX rifles now listed at bargain prices. There have been many success stories here with FX products and I would be a fool not to consider the benefits of now very reasonably priced used FX PCPs.

Where are these made so if I pick up on some great deals I can continue to get parts and support?

Thank you in advance!
