PCP Rifle  NLA Trades? Moving Sale! Cheap PCPs! FX Wildcat GAMO AEA Prefer FTF Bay Area CA Trades?

EDIT: Might be open to trades to at least prevent myself from having to move all this stuff with me 1100 miles away! Could use an FX 500mm 177 Barrel setup? or maybe a 177 Coyote or Avenger? I would be happy to trade multiple things for less things! (y) Sorry but I cannot ship anything at this time, finances are kind a tight.

Selling some extra stuff to help in moving out of state. All being sold as is, since I will not be around to help out in a few months. All function great and hold air for many months. All have been very accurate for me (golfball at 55 yards or better), and all have been used to hunt small pests. All have been taken apart, so expect plenty of dings and scratches and tool marks etc. All that being said, I am listing them cheap. If you are wanting to try out a PCP this is going be a great option!

Gamo Urban 22 Cal. Includes 1 mag and fill probe with adapter already installed. Has taken several hundred pests and is a great backyard setup. Its quiet and accurate and does ~800fps with Hades. Has trigger screw mod, and barrel band delete. $195

Gamo Coyote 22 Cal. Includes 2 mags and fill probe with adapter already installed. Got this one used and havent had a chance to test accuracy yet. Will be a little faster than my Urban and a bit more quiet is my guess. Has trigger screw mod and barrel band delete. $325

Gamo Magnum Piston 22 Cal. This one has fiber sights, but would be best with an optic. Makes ~30ft/lbs depending on ammo. Havent shot this one very much, but I think it likes ~21grain HN pellets. Nice wood stock that had an absurd length of pull from the factory. I removed the gigantic rubber butt pad and glued on a nice thick piece of cow leather to make it ~13.5" length of pull. $215

AEA Challenger Bullpup 25 Cal. Has DonnyFL shroud adapter on it so you can use your choice of ldc. Has been very accurate for me, shoots slugs decent enough to hunt with, and a lot of energy. I think it makes ~70-80 ft/lbs with ease, if memory serves. Has factory regulator option installed, and does single digit extreme spreads if you have it tuned right. Comes with 2 mags and fill probe and original box. Worlds finest Barska Big5 special red dot is also included. $315

PCZHrbAh.jpg

FX Wildcat Compact Gen3 1st version in 30 Cal. Tuned for ~65ft/lbs with Nielsen Slugs. Great trigger and has been a lights out hunter for me. Has 2 plenum upgrades that help with a little extra power and air. Got this one used but have had a lot of fun with it. Very lightweight and well balanced. By far the most ergo in my stable. Vortex Sparc can be include for a little extra, but this Wildcat deserves something like a Leupold ultra lightweight scope. Includes 1 factory mag, fill probe, and hard case. Pictured Tanto not included, but gives you an idea of muzzle clearance with the additional plenum length. $1085

Huben  GK1- I’m getting confused

I just found out about this bad boy, so please don’t flame me here. I’m aware there are other threads and have many responses. I will do what I do best and spit out the questions.
1 - is this gun regulated? I’ve seen videos with chrony showing consistent power drop when set at high power.
2 - number of shots per fill at high power, I know it’s adjustable and low to moderate power yields many shots.
3 - is moderator adapter now included or is it add on?
4 - what are these speed adapters that some gave home made? I fail to see how it speeds up loading the mag.
5 - non removable mag, not sure I’m crazy about this. LCS and obviously HUBEN do this. Is this better than removable mags?

That’s all. I find the gun intriguing, but there are questions in my mind. Thanks

PCP Pistol  SOLD AEA SS semi-auto 22 cal pistol carbine - $275 shipped

** Sold **

I purchased this AEA SS semi-auto 22 cal pistol/carbine new last year. Shot a few magazines at some paper targets and it works very well. Comfortable size and the folding rear stock makes it compact for travel. The stock can be easily removed and the airgun used as a large pistol. It includes a couple of magazines and a fill probe and original box as shown in the pictures.

If you are not familiar with the AEA SS model series, it's easy to find extensive reviews. I'd originally planned to keep it, it's a nice piece of engineering with good power for its size. But my L2 is back from repair and a GK1 finally arrived, so I really don't have a need for this one anymore. Like many of the folks on this forum, sometimes I purchase airguns out of curiosity, to see how they compare to other airguns I've had. And over the years I've ended up selling the majority of them within a couple of years of purchase, usually with little added use other than some shots over crony or paper targets. This is one of those.

The current retail price for one of these AEA SS 22 cal is about $500.

I only shot a few magazines of pellets shot through it when I got it, and it's been in the original shipping box since then.

The asking price is $275 shipped CONUS, for the items shown in the attached pictures. This is a very good deal for an almost new 22 cal AEA SS. A new 22 cal Leshiy 2 with a 250mm barrel costs over 8x as much as buying this AEA airgun.

If you decide that you want to purchase it, just send me a note offering to buy and I'll send you my PayPal address if it's still available.

Thanks for looking.

Diana  Rare Pair

With the recent post about the child size Diana 72, I thought I would share this pair. Vintage 1990 model 70 and 72. 70 needed nothing when I got it and the 72 was rebuilt by David Slade late last year. Don’t see either of these often so pretty stoked to have the pair in my collection. For perspective on size, I’m included them pictured with an early Beeman R-7.

FX  Does FX Maverick really needs heavy/slug barrels?

Hello folks, I was wondering if Maverick .22 really needs STX Superior Heavy/Slug liners. I’m already shooting 30gr slugs @ 960fps on the STX superior standard and it’s very accurate, getting groups between 0.8-1 MOA @ 110y/100m.
People usually say heavy liners improve accuracy for heavier slugs because of its twist rate, but I’m not having any problem yet, never tried slugs heavier than 30gr though.
Has anyone ever tried shooting 35-40gr slugs on STX superior standard barrels? What about the accuracy and BC? I’m questioning this because I live in Brazil and this liner takes a long time to arrive (3-5months).

FX  Dynamic & Panthera (What is the Difference?)

Would anyone care to explain what the difference is between the FX Airguns Panthera and the Dynamic? Is the Dynamic a Panthera?

I had a Panthera .22 and the Reg must have been broken. I couldn't get anywhere near the velocities others got at the same settings.

Please explain the advantages of a Dynamic, or a Panthera. Thanks

Worst First Hunt of a Season For Me

I took some time to finally push myself get out and squirrel hunt. Work has been something else this past quarter. My day started early, but I went out late this morning around 9:30am, nice and cool weather 47-50F. I visited one of my regular spots, saw about 4 squirrels, but only had a decent shot opportunity on one of them. Shot twice and missed both times from about 25-30 yards. I was fine with that. I don’t think it knew it was being shot at, but it didn’t stick around to see what would happen after the second miss. This gray squirrel descended the tree and hightailed it out of sight on the forest floor. It was nice to get out and be around the animals again. I took the latter part of the morning to just sit in the woods and take it all in. It’s was a bit windy today so it was hard to hear much movement. I got busted by a squirrel that I never saw and a deer whose tail I caught in the air as it wheezed and ran. Both had to spot me from 40-60 yards away.

Later after returning home, I ran some errands and got back out in the woods around 5:30ish. It probably took me about 35-40 mins to slow walk and work my way into the woods around the vines, dead leaves, fallen branches, and underbrush. I heard a squirrel try to bust me, but there were too many branches or vines between us for it to be certain that it saw a threat - this is my best estimation of what it was thinking. I also had the sun to my back, so how much could it really see? I stopped, remained somewhat still, and waited it out. When it shut up, I slowly worked my way into the woods a little deeper. I saw some ground that had fewer fallen leaves and branches with decent plant cover to help me blend in so I worked my way into that area. Half of the time during my advance I’m hearing acorns and branches falling and I can’t tell which ones are from the wind, birds, or squirrels. About 30 mins in and after waiting out the barker, I begin hearing the squirrels stir in the trees. Now I’m getting anxious to get into position. There aren’t many openings in the canopy and foliage to take semi-clear shots much longer than about 40 yards. I don’t want to take any long shots because today I dusted off the Prod loaded with 14.3 grain CPHPs. When I finally get into position, I kneel down in the underbrush, spread the legs of my bipod, and lower it so that I can try to maximize my rest for gratuitous angular range. I’m still keyed in on the area that the barker seemed to have been in. Finally, I start seeing movement in a tall, but slim pine tree. I see it sitting on its haunches and put my 3-12x44 FFP Vector Veyron’s crosshairs towards its ear and press the trigger. *shhh-click.* That’s all you hear from the Prod with the Donny FL Tanto affixed. I hit a branch and the squirrel scrambles then runs, propels itself through the air, and into an adjacent oak. I track him and once he pauses I aim for his head and send another hollow tipped diabolo, *shhh-click*………….💥 thwack💥. He falls forward and appears to get stuck between smaller branches below, then falls and swings about a half of a head lower, hanging off a branch by a hind foot. I debated taking a follow up shot, while I’m weighing my next move, it lets go and tumbles to the earth.

I still hear movement in a couple other areas, but I’m listening to see if I can hear the squirrel I just shot. I heard a brief rustle, then nothing. I start to go retrieve it then I stop and turn right, then I look left thinking I should go get it now, but there’s a squirrel going nuts in a tree to my right. So I made a mental note where the first one fell and stalked around a couple trees so I could see what the other one was doing. Turns out that it was weaving through some vines that had grown up into the tree. I couldn’t tell if it was eating , building a dray, or what. What I do know is that I’m gonna cook him if he sits still long enough. My opportunity comes as it jumps through the tangles of vines and down the tree trunk a bit. The rodent paused then hopped to a branch. It stopped and stretched out its torso and neck as if investigating something on the next branch before stepping onto said branch. Good for me, bad for him. When he paused a second too long, I sent one that dropped him like a ping pong ball falling through the peg board on one of those old county-fair games. When it hit the ground I stand up and look over towards the first squirrel I shot. Then I went to search for the second one. When I got toward the base of the tree I could see a mess of vines growing between the two closest trees, up into, and around them. I’m using my bipod as a brush guard and to move vines and long grass around to find my downed quarry. With the moderator affixed the Prod feels pretty long with an AR styled folding stock hanging off of a single point sling. As I stoop to manueaver through the vines my sleeves and pants legs are getting snagged by green briars. One wraps high around my ankle above my boot. I twist and try to untangle myself, but the briar vine is wrapped around my ankle and is tightening. I bend down to grab it and unwrap it and I feel my moderator in the leaves and dirt. I have no way to prevent this from happening. I manage to work myself free using my bipod and gun as brush guards. I circle the two trees, but these vines are a mess. I’m not seeing this squirrel. The sun is now lowering on the horizon and I’m losing light quickly. I decide to retrieve the first one and come back to this one since I have to pass the second squirrel to exit the woods.

I found the first squirrel shot in the head, still breathing. Smh. So I put one in the back of its head. Something told me to get that one first. It convulses violently for about 15 seconds, then gave two weak kicks with its rear right leg just before it took its final breath. I pulled a shopping bag from my pocket to tote it. He was bleeding badly from the head.

I walk over to the vines that are growing into a thicket at the base of these other trees to search for #2. I enter the tangled mess once again. This time the bag I’m holding is getting tangled up in the thorns. I untangle it, get the vines off my sleeve, and hang the bag on a broken branch. One corner of the bag is somewhat shredded and the bushy tail pokes out slightly. I take my cellphone out of my pocket, turn on the flashlight, and try to illuminate as much ground as I can. I squat down to direct the beam of light on the earth and into the underbrush, but nothing. After getting tangled up a couple more times, exiting the briars, walking CCW around the trees a little and entering the briars again. My sense of direction is all the way off. I can’t find this squirrel, don’t see any blood, and the sun is of little assistance at this point. I start lifting up tangled masses of briars with my bipod legs, still I see nothing squirrly. After about 10-15 minutes of this I had to call it quits, so I go back for my bagged squirrel that I hung up and now I can’t find that tree. By this time I’m getting hung up in small vines that I can’t even see. I’m getting hit in the face, poked around the eye, and have thorns scratching my legs through my pants. Eventually I abandoned my search and made my way towards the faint purple horizon using my phone’s flashlight so I could find the path leading out of the woods.

This had to be one of my worst experiences squirrel hunting. The other happened in proximity to the area this incident occurred, but last season. This wooded area is a challenge because it forces you to be stealth just be able to eyeball the squirrels. The foliage is such a mess in places you will have to thread the needle on some shots, pass, or miss and hit vines and branches. I hadn’t thought about it until I typed this, but it’s one of my most challenging squirrel hunting spots. I came home empty handed leaving my meat in the woods. At least I know they didn’t run off, but this sucks. Evening hunts in low light on small critters now present new challenges to me that I can no longer deny. This is me venting. If you read this whole thing, good on you. I don’t expect many people to finish reading this.

Here’s the first squirrel after the coup de gras before bagging him.

N/A  Could use some help on deciding which pcp

I am wanting to get into the pcp game. Most of my experience with air guns has been with springers. My favorite to date is a Beeman R1 in .22 which has been tuned by Paul Watts.
I am wanting to up my game and get something flatter shooting.
There are so many good pcp guns out there that it’s hard to decide which one to get.
I am looking for something that shoots accurately to 100 yards or more. I will use it for hunting birds and small varmints. Nothing bigger than possibly a raccoon off my deer feeder. With that said, it will mostly be shot at targets for fun. I live on 30 acres, so I have the room to shoot longer distances without worrying about it being “back yard friendly”.
I don’t want (at least for now) anything that requires constant tuning. I think I want something that can shoot pellets and slugs, but probably will stick to whatever the gun shoots the best with.
I had thought that I had narrowed my search down to the Uragan 2 in .22. Then I found out today that Taipan now makes a forward side lever model in the veteran and tactical model.
I will be purchasing a compressor as well.
Can you experts help a newbie to the pcp game make a decision on which route to go?

I was Flamed!

In a previous post I was PM'd by a AGN member and accused of not respecting America because of the lower case "A" in Aoa. That lower Case "A" should have been cap'd but for Arizona not America. The Subject Line I couldn't change but I edited the rest to AoA. It's Air guns of Arizona not America. To those of you from Arizona I apologize. Was this error enough to chastise me? Bill

My first attempt

Hello amigos of AGN.

In one month i have my first attempt in FT with my hw98 springer .
I’m a springer shooter more than a pcp, but I’m new in this discipline, please let me your comments about how can I prepare my setup for the competition, I mean mark on side wheel, zero in my scope etc

Thanks for advance

JSB 18.13 pellet at 950 fps for best accuracy?

After reading this Hard Air Magazine article The External Ballistics Of Diabolo Pellets and watching this Ted Holdover YouTube video Pushing the Velocity of .22 Pellets I'm wondering if we should be testing the .22 JSB 18.13 pellet in the 950 to 960 fps range for maximum accuracy at 50 or even 100 yards?

I've been shooting firearms all my life, but other than shooting BB and pellet guns as a kid, I've only been shooting airguns seriously for about 2 years. And when I got started with airguns, I fell into the 880 fps crowd for the .22 18.13 pellet pretty quickly, as that seemed to be the consensus velocity I kept reading about.

So, is 880 fps really the sweet spot for the .22 JSB 18.13 pellet at 50 or even 100 yards?
