Y'all been using the wrong Loctite

Just kidding, but I did find this a bit interesting.

Purple Loctite (#222) is for 1/4" (~6mm) and smaller fasteners - in other words, EVERY fastener on an airgun.

Blue Loctite (#243) is for 1/4 - 3/4" (6-20mm) fasteners.

Obviously, other brands may be different colors.

Iguana hunter camouflage for gun super soaker or nerf gun ?

I live in a small town/city and any display of what could possibly be an assault weapon will bring a police response.
In a effort to alleviate any potential concerns of neighbors I’ve decided to
Decorate my FX M3 to appear as a toy
Bright yellow, blue and pink ? Maybe even
Cannibalize a toy gun for pieces to give a realistic appearance of it being a toy.
Anyone else try this ?

My Aussie Coon Dog...Unreal

My Australian Shepard last year was introduced to coons in the apple trees. I knocked 3 out with my .30 cal Hatsan, semi-auto. He was just 2 years old but he ripped into on of the coons like crazy. I play tug-a-war with him and it paid off the night.
This morning I let him out around 630 and he didn't come back in for over a half hour. I got concerned and called him in. He was totally wired up. Something was up. He ran back out down to the lake and insisted that he had something going on. I put my slippers on and went out in the rain to see if it was for real. I looked up several trees and saw nothing...Rowdy kept running over to the spruce tree.. so I walked over there...sure enough! A big coon was hanging out up there about 20 feet up.

My wife just came to bed so I'll have to tell the rest of the story tomorrow. Unreal! Love Rowdy!

Curious numbers

If you click on the leader board you will see that some members have a number between member and their location:

Member · 63 · From North Alabama

Member · 78 · From Scottsville, Alan County , Kentucky, United States

Member · 50 · From Calgary, Alberta

Etc, etc, etc...

Not all members have this number, so it got my curiosity going.

What is the significance of this number? What does it mean?

Thanks!

All my best!

Kerry

p.s.

I have yet to see any of those numbers exceed 2 digits. In other words, I have never seen 100, 101, etc. If that makes any difference?

FX  Backyard Total Beast Build

So I finally got dream build finished for close range pest control. It's my original M3 Compact in a .30 cal 500mm config and a Element HYPR-7 prism scope. I tried out a few LPVO's with tactical turrets and turned my interest toward a 4x-5x prism sight. The only problem was they all had BDC recticles for 5.56 or .308 drops. The HYPR-7 was the solution for that.

So this is powered by a Air Marksman 300 bar bottle and the only internal mod so far is a FX tungsten hammer. It's pushing a JSB .30 44.75g pellet out at 878 FPS. I have three Impulse Air mods and I really like them. With just the shroud it sounds like a .22 going off. The Impulse 1350 with two extra baffles makes it really neighbor friendly.

The HYPR-7 prism sight was everything I was expecting and more. The glass is amazing and the digital HUD shown on the internet does not do it justice. The text and recticles were crisp and clear. I just had to make my own recticle for this beast :)

The digital zeroing on this scope is sooo dam easy. I took one shot and hit paper. Then fired off the rest of the mag and punched these holes. I'm really proud of that top right with it's 5 round group. You can see the single sight in round on the bottom row where there are two holes in one of the small bullseyes. Most of the 3 round groups were a little larger that what is shown. When I laid the target flat some of the blown out paper folded back in the main holes and makes the group look tighter than it really was. Still, I'm pretty happy with the result considering it was done with a low powered prism scope. This was shot at 25 yards.

Time for Squirrelicide!

N/A  Huben k1 .25 or huben k1

so I was able to narrow down a few Huben’s in 25 which is what I want but I also have a great deal for a 22 special edition which is very attractive being that it has all the carbon fiber and walnut stock but that doesn’t serve any purpose to the actual gun, and what its capabilities are, which is what I love about the huben but have only shot my buddies .25 and it hits soooooo hard. I’ve been a .25 guy but most recently had .22 maverick and .22 Brocock sniper but it didn’t put down some small game like I would have liked to but ultimately got the job done so next would be accuracy im pretty sure there’s maybe slightly a difference in accuracy (capabilities) I think a .22 round has better ballistic coefficient then a .25 but I could be way wrong and that’s just what I was told By somebody.
Anyhow, if anybody has an opinion on this, feel free to chime in thank you and thank you to the community for previous helpP

FX  FX Impact M3

Hi
Am a newby to this PCP airgun caper and would like a little help with tuning
Have a 22 cal Impact with carbon sleeve and the slug barrel fitted
Have been trying to tune for slugs and trying different slugs etc
Currently shooting ZAN .217 33grain slugs at about 820-830fps and they shoot well but that is as fast as I can get them to run with front reg at 190bar and second reg at 140bar
When I try and crank up the pressure on the second reg to above 150bar I blow the oring in the reg
Have read where people are running 165-170 bar and 950 plus fps and would like to do so as well
I do have the slug power kit with tungsten hammer but have not fitted it yet
Any ideas would be much appreciated
Regards
Stewy

Taipan  .177 iguanas?

This gun is slowly becoming a favorite in mi collection. I've made a post or two of killing iguanas with .177, using hornets, another with 10.3gr. I figure the hornets would definitely kill the large iguanas just due to the brass tip. And the 10.3gr I figured they would work on smaller iguanas, but a small alpha, with the 8.4gr??? Definitely made my day, at about 35yds right behind the eye, perfect shot on the large male, and female was just below her eye almost on her upper lip.

Also I have taken plenty of iguanas with the impact set up in 177 as well as my at44, but the at44 was putting out 28-29fpe and the impact was doing 32-36.

I've gotten iguanas with 14fpe but in .22, so this is new for me.

How relevant are these moisture filters

Hi guys,

I currently have a Hill Compressor (EC-3000) and plan to maybe get a Huben Hand Pump (rated up to 350 bars) to fill my Huben GK1 Pistol.

I want to make sure that moisture doesn't build up inside the gun; is this inline filter good enough for the electric compressor AND for the hand pump as well?

Thanks for sharing your opinions on these. Since they're relatively unexpensive I might get two of them (one of the EC-3000 and one for the hand pump).

PCP Rifle  NLA .25 Kaliber Cricket tuned by Georgia Airguns with soft case

Georgia Airguns tuned .25 Cricket with soft case.

It’s a .25 Cricket tuned by Charlie and the barrel has his seven step accurizing process. Gun also has extended plenum to maximize power and shot count. Totally resealed by Charlie, it has a lifetime warranty if any leaking should ever occur.

The gun will shoot the Mk2 really well but for maximum accuracy it prefers 25.4 Kings.

Charlie has set the fill port up for a slow fill. Do not get in a hurry to fill the gun up. It can take up to a minute to top off the tank. He has also lightened the spring to the fill port dust cover so the cover doesn’t damage the fill prob orings when removing the probe.

The package includes an assortment of Orings, fill probe with QD adapter, four-twelve shot magazines which you will get all forty-eight shots before you need to fill the gun back up with air.

Also installed is a Donnie FL modified Cricket side plate which makes changing magazines a whole lot easier.

A soft gun case is included in price. ($45 value)

The gun is well balanced and easy to shoulder to shoot offhand. The gun does not include a moderator, only the factory shroud. I used it as a prairie dog hunting rifle and never felt it needed one. If you are going to use the gun as a backyard shooter, I’d suggest considering one.

Charlie set the trigger pull to 12.8 oz. With a short, predictable 1st stage and a crisp breaking second stage.

If you have any further questions or need additional photos or whatever, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Call to prayer

One of our members recently experienced a tragic loss. Please keep in your prayers that you wish the best for our extended airgun families, especially during trials. You never know how much someone is hurting or how important a word of encouragement may be.

Respectfully,
Thank you.

Muskrat Memory Loss

So I went out much earlier today to do some Squirrel hunting, and once again I didn't see a thing. On my way back through the woods, I decided to take a detour that would lead me near a marsh, hoping that I may find a few raccoons by chance, even though it was just pass noon.

To my surprize, I saw something in the distance that looked like groundhogs, but these guys were doing something I've never seen a groundhog do, and that is actively swim! And with that, I knew what I was seeing was too small to be a beaver, so the only other thing it could be was a muskrat.

I raised up my monopod and decided to take this shot while standing. The FX Maverick launched a Hybrid Slug 52 yards (which just happens to be the zero distance), which erased all memories from the muskrat with a full pass through.

This is the second time I have taken game with the ATN X-Sight 5 5-25x LRF, but the first time I remembered to record and I decided to switch from using the 3840x2880 resolution to the 1920x1440 120fps mode so I can get some slo-mo, and I am very disappointed. The scope does the faster frame rate by line skipping instead of a more intelligent downscaling algorithm, and this simply destroys the quality.

HW/Weihrauch  HW75 Modification

Probably should go on the pistol forum but it was discussed here on a post just recently. The HW75 is one of my favorite pistols. I do shoot the actual 1911 quite frequently and like to keep my handling instincts fresh. The target grip that comes standard on the 75 is very nice. Fits me a bit tight but not uncomfortable. For target shooting, I like it. Fills my extra large hands. I do not think Weihrauch offers the 75 like the 45 in the standard 1911 grip frame. When the 75 first came out I did get one and made this same modification. Probably 30 years ago. A dear, now departed friend got it off me. I regret selling it and acquired one several years ago. Finally, just finished the modification on this one also. An option for anyone with a HW75. Added a trigger adjustment hole in the extension so the trigger can be adjusted without removing the grips or extension.
