Epic  Epic Airguns Two arrived

I know i said my goodbyes, but my mood is good and i have a few things on my heart that i think will not offend anyone.

The reason for my good mood is the UPS guy just delivered my Epic Two ( 700 mm / 4.5 mm .177 / LW barrel )
And Monday look to be pretty much 0 wind.

T1.jpg

The case is just like the one i already got when my Maverick grew with 100 mm in barrel length.
This can barely house the Maverick, well at least ´when it have a scope mounted.

Mind you the Two barely fit, even the end cap on the barrel was off and there was 0 mm in the case length in surplus.
I was expecting to need to get a new case as i was sure the provided one would not work with the folding stock i also got, still a bit disappointing there is no way the not folded rifle + a mounted scope will fit i am sure ( not put on scope yet )

T2.jpg

Folded stock and suddenly there is plenty of room, but then you can not close the case, well maybe if you jump on it, but i am not going there.

T3.jpg

This is my new rifle.
There is many like it, but this one is mine.
My new rifle is my best toy, it is my source of calmness.
I must master it as i master my life.
I must fire my rifle true, i must kill many X on the evil paper and kill many flies.

T4.jpg

Now to measure up the folded rifle and order a new case with pick foam, and hopefully a little bit shorter and wider and thicker than this provided case CUZ that aint going in the trunk of my car which i would like to be able to do.

O and then just a little update as it seem like it have been ignored on here as far as my looking in now and then say.
But the Epic airguns One model are just about ready to launch, Ballistas made a little video on it with its different versions and also highlighting a few add ons.

The video is in the CZ language i for one do not have a build in decoder for, but fortunately it do have English subtitles.

IMO the one dont look half bad for a damn bullpup

Starlings @ 93 yds.

As the title says starlings getting whacked at 93 yds off my target board. I used my Crown MK2 for these shots. I have it setup shooting JSB 33.9 gr. MK2 pellets @ 880 fps. I have this crown topped with a vortex PST Gen2. It was a little windy but I have home field advantage;) This is a deadly combo as you can see in the video. Thanks for watching.

Air Arms  Air Arms Alfa Proj

This is NOT a WTS or WTB post although I am looking in classifieds. My team of youth shoots the Alfa Proj PCP air pistol for competition. Why does it seem that these are so hard to find used? There is the typical new ones for sale but other than 1 or 2 sellers who have an in on major auction sites they are virtually nowhere to be found. We are very fond of these models but I am beginning to wonder are they hard to find because people are holding onto them? Or are they hard to find because they are somewhat outdated. Really having a hard time balancing budget with quality for these kids so open to a comparable or better PCP air pistol without dropping 3K. I think price point is a huge factor for parents and the air world is relativley new to me. Anyways, any insight into Alfa Proj lack of used airguns out there or a potential alternative would be greatly appreciated. the club was originally supplied with Crosman 1701P but those havent been as popular as the Proj. Waiting on the arrival of a Snowpeak to test out as well.

***Again I'm looking for input, suggestions, and information. thanks

PCP Rifle  SOLD FX Crown MK II Continuum .22

[4/21/24 Update: Sold pending funds clearing.] For sale is a Synthetic stock .22 Crown MK II Continuum in excellent condition. There is some minor scuffing on a portion of the edge of the picatinny rail that will probably not bother most people and may be largely (?) covered by the scope rings depending where they are placed (I did not see it for a couple of months), and what looks like a bit of unevenness on the back of the stock that attaches to the monopad, which may owe to the factory or a former user (see the second and third pics from the end); otherwise, this gun is in tip-top condition. I bought the gun several months ago from a member and he said it was hardly used and probably not even broken in. I think there is about six to eight months left on the factory warranty, but I am not positive. I am selling for personal reasons, and there is nothing wrong with the gun.

I only did accuracy testing in my basement, so a (measly!) 25-foot five-shot group is all I can give, and a picture of a five-shot group with the Crosman 14.3 grains is included. This distance is unimportant to most, I know, but it is what I have. (During a phone call, the previous owner told me he was getting ca. 1/4-inch groups at either 35 or 55 meters, but I have forgotten which.)
For the record, I received the gun with the regulator on about 120, the Transfer Port on Low, and the Hammer Wheel on 1, with the 700 mm barrel attached. I typically would not use such a low-power tune, but I decided to try it out. On these settings I was getting just over 600 fps on the chrony with Crosman 14.3 grain Premier HP pellets and just over 12 fpe. I got a big kick out of how ultra-quiet the gun was and how little air was used: the shot count is probably about 300 or so per fill. I never did get around to counting. Without changing the regulator pressure, but putting the Transfer Port on High and the Power Wheel on 23, I was getting just over 1100 fps with the Crosman 14.3 pellets. I never got the chance to change the regulator pressure, and never touched the insides of he gun. This Crown comes from UTAH AIRGUNS (Dec. 3, 2022(?) and was originally tuned for the JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy 18.13 grain pellets at 910 fps (see certification photo). I did shoot some of the JSBs too, but did my testing more with the less-expensive Crosman pellets. I had plans to test lots more but didn't get the chance.

Included are:
The .22 Mk II Continuum with the 380 mm and 700mm Superlight XTS barrels. The 380 barrel is unused, as far as I know;
FX quick disconnect Foster fitting and factory package materials;
Five 18-round magazines, three of which may be brand new but are out of packaging;
One single-shot tray;
Kraford and Lypt Monopod with box (the original buttstock is also included);
UTG bipod;
Picatinny Bottle Clamp;
Apache hard case (some scuffing, but not bad).
(The scope and rings are not included.)

The retail for everything is around $2,500.00, without shipping.

The price is $1,300 for everything listed plus shipping. Potential buyers need to know that (1) unless this package is purchased quickly, shipping may be delayed for just over one week due to personal business and (2) the included Apache case is very durable and accommodating but adds weight, so for this reason I am leaving shipping separate.

Ships to CONUS only.

Payment may be PayPal F&F, PayPal and pay the fee, Venmo, or Cashier's Check.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I am not interested in trades.

Thank you. S7

Springtime - and the starlings and squirrels are back

Hey folks, as it warms up here the starlings and squirrels are coming in droves. They wreak havoc on my house and most often congregate under eaves or on the roof itself for squirrels. I thought it could be some pretty fun pest control to sit out in the yard and try to pick ‘em off from their favorite spots but obviously I don’t want to do any heavy damage to the asphalt shingles, the old wooden soffit (1800s home) or anything else. What’s my best Airgun option for this job? I was thinking something in .177 that edges on the low side of ft-lbs to humanely kill the pests so in the event of a miss or pass thru the collateral is low.

Is this even possible? Or just plain stupid. Additionally there are some other houses nearby - so I can’t be slangin heavy slugs up in the air. Perhaps I shouldn’t shoot anything upwards at all. So … maybe a BB gun? That seems a bit absurd but potentially viable.

In that case, any advice to get the buggers on the ground for safe shooting?
These are European starlings (invasive where I am) and grey squirrels.

Let me know what you think or what you’d do!

Airgun Technologies  Uragan 2 incoming

Hey guys just ordered a Uragan 2 700mm in .25 and should be here next week! :cool: Need some advice on what slugs are accurate with this rifle. I have 31g H&N Grizzlies and an array of NSA slugs 29.5g, 33.5g, and 34.9g. Has anyone tried any of these slugs? My Artemis M11 shoots Grizzlies very well but the speeds are a bit low around 800fps and this gun will be shooting noticeably hotter.

The scope I'm using is a Discovery HT 4-16x44 ffp and need help on what size scope rings to get. Seems like the picatinny rail is raised a good amount above the barrel, would low rings work (.97inch) or should I get medium (1.25in)?

Also want to give a shout out to Tony at Talon Tunes he went above and beyond to help me and is highly recommended. (y)

Air Arms  How well can a light knock down PCP shoot

Just retired, was into powder burners for years when younger, benchrest and Mettalic Sil . Recently pulled out my "box of stuff" , it said '86 on it, lol, so it's been a minute since ive been shooting!

Live against the woods n creek, have 4 super fit GSD's and run them daily on my Ebike through the woods and along the creek . I wanted to return to shooting, but something suitable for my yard, and the woods/creek rides. Meant it had to break down, be small , light, and accurate. Ended up with an Air Arms S410 TDR FAC in .177.

It was NIB, built in 2005, never fired. Took a week to get it sorted and shooting properly, she now does. Super light, 2-12 good scope, bipod out front. Comes apart, fits in a backpack it comes with , that IS NOT the size of a suitcase like the new 510 TDR does. Rides well on my back, doesnt hinder me on the bike, goes together in 20 seconds, does not loose zero.

It is constantly windy here, and when i hunt/plink, the wind is a constant. So 10 -20 mph most of the time, was no need in a 4K gun shooting 1/4" 50 yd groups. Cant do that in the wind here. I am after excellent hunting accuracy, out to 75 yds. I am also 69, and tend to like OLE SKOOL poop best. This 410 TDR in wood is beautiful, in my eye, and holds off hand very very well. Light nuff to pack all day, with a 190 bar fill, 55 same POI shots , all i need.

I have tried several days to "see what she can do" but the wind has been heavy. I shall get a calm day this month, but till then i gave up on the idea of benchresting it , rather focus on POI and learning the scope and how it shoots. Been using an 18 dollar Amazon bipod, which works fine, but not the most stable, lol.

Shooting at 25 and 50 yds, in the typical winds here. Today, i put out 25 and 50 yd targets, it was a windy as i would ever shoot a .177 in today, figured it would be a great "hunting test" . It likes the cheap ass Premier HP pellets, at $6.99 a tin........lucky me. After shooting all my pellets into media, i actually like the terminal performance of these the best also. A double win for me!!!!

Put on bipod, shouldered rifle like id be in field. Filled to 190 bar, i got 55 same POI shots, accurate down to an indicated 60 bar!!!! Kinda shocked me.
Also shocked by how it shoots. Was so windy the targets where blowing off the backstop, pulling the scotch tape loose, and flapping. Took shots when paper settled.
I was amazed at its performance.

Shot at 50yds, but made a rookie mistake, and taped the target to my metal squirell reset target , doh. Each shot splattered on the metal behind target and within 5 shots the whole target was shredded, lol!!!! So no 50 target just yet, and 92F outside now, so it's gotta wait. I KNOW , even in the heavy wind, it shot an inch or under at 50.

Wonder waht it can do in still air?????

ANYONE else into take downs????? Anyone have thge 410/510 TDR and shoot it much???? Im 100% happy i bought it, instead of gthe Edgun for way more.

25 yards, bipod/shoulder, heavy wind. $7 pellets........................ill take these and run...................lol

Affordable reliable compressor that the air gun market would embrace

The least complicated and easiest to maintain air compressor was the Shoebox. It was made in the U.S. but was relatively expensive. It was manufactured on such a small scale that it was impossible to compete with the Chinese imports that drove Shoebox out of business. If a larger manufacturer anywhere would manufacture an updated Shoebox F10 for around $350 it would sell like hotcakes. It could easily be done by a large scale manufacturer due to its simplicity.

Before anyone says that Altaros already does I would point out two significant differences. The price of an Altaros is high for it's lack of complexity. It uses over half of the air from the booster compressor just to power the drive piston before that air is dumped through a vent. The genius of the Shoebox was that it used a premium quality 1/3 HP motor instead of a booster compressor to drive its pistons. All of the air from the booster compressor is compressed by the Shoebox so a booster compressor cycles on less than half of time required to operate an Altaros. The Shoebox required much less compressor capacity and output from a booster compressor than does the Altaros.

The Shoebox was the little compressor engine that could. The F10 compressed 10 cubic feet of air per hour to 310 bar which means it could top off a 9 liter SCBA tank in 3.5 hours. It didn't require constant monitoring so it could serve anyone other than a power user who filled tanks more than twice a week. The beauty of the Shoebox was it required very little maintenance and it was easy to service by an owner with minimal mechanical ability.

An updated Shoebox should include an intake moisture filter built in to the design. The Shoebox compressed so gradually that cool down air loss was never a problem. The design was ahead of its time but needs to be manufactured on a larger scale so the price can compete with less reliable designs that aren't nearly as durable. I think many buyers today would welcome reliability and durability from a booster compressor like an updated Shoebox if it was available for $350 or less.

Can someone explain why the POI change?

Recently I've taken out several of my guns that I have not shot since last summer and the point of impact on every one of them has shifted by 1"-3" at 20 yards. I had each of them perfectly sighted in last summer at 20 yards. I'm shooting the same pellets, same scope, same distance off a bench. This is extremely puzzling and frustrating. Does this happen to anyone else? Can something in the scope like the spring change over time?

Non airgun related..

As of right now if you have any non-related airgun discussions you're supposed to put them in your "updated profile". Problem with that is that nobody will ever see it. I don't check people's profiles unless I'm buying or selling something from them. I think it would be great if we had a non-air gun related thread we can post things in. It's just a thought but I think it would benefit us all along with a machine shop thread.
