OKCGC AirHead Group had their N50 Match this past Saturday, the 5th of May! Weather was great up until Match #2. But for match #1 it was nice, and the scores showed that! We just could not hold off the rain and had to call off match #2. Bummer for everyone. We let them make that call.
Had some pretty good scores today! Mr. Mike Shultz came out and shot a 747 with 41 X’s!! Great shooting with his Thomas HPX. Butch Everett 247 with 28 X’s also with his new Thomas HP! Ben Womack and his Vulcan 723 with 19 X’s. Bob Benda did really well using an FX Crown 720 and 19 X’s..
Sportsman had 2 in there and Kelly was on top with his 730 and 27 X,s, Don Faulkenberry shot a 703 with 11 X,s.
Pro had 3 show up and they did good. Larry Lawrence with 749 43X’s. Barney Alexander 748 and 54 X’s. Mike Tokar with 739 and 29 X's

Was wondering if there is database for say 177 and 22 calibers of ballistic coefficients. If so, please point me in the right direction. If not, would this be a worthwhile undertaking for this forum. At least to select these 2 calibers to start out. I am talking about pellets like Crossman Premiers, H&N, JSB and RWS that most serious shooters use. Just a thought. Thanks in advance for all replies.

Even got lucky to catch one in the nymph state.

Because of shoulder issues I've decided to sell my FWB 124D. Bought it a couple years ago from member ChuckHunter.
I have replaced the barrel pivot screw & pivot set screw, breech seal and True Oiled the stock to correct steam damage
from someone trying to lessen a dent..See Right side butt photo. Stock turned out pretty good. I added a nice leather sling.
I also made flat washers and went with internal tooth star washers instead of the external tooth washers for the forearm
screws. As from the photos you can see the stock has compression lines and small dents. I'd say the metal bluing is in
the 80-85% range. Some minor rust freckling towards the end of the barrel but hardly noticeable. Rifle was made in the 1977-78
range and is still in good condition for it's age. When I replaced the barrel pivot screw I looked down though the transfer port
with a flashlight and seen the piston seal and based on it's color it's a ARH Mongoose. The automatic safety does not engage
when cocked so I suspect the tab on the plastic trigger is damaged or broke. I'm including extra parts which will include the
sought-after OEM metal trigger. As far as chronograph data goes....I'm at 86 ft above sea level.

I upgrade my Delta Wolf with new valve and new barrel tensioner clamp! This is makes a lot of change and much more accuracy! I still like Fx for off hand shooting because it's much lighter and much more balanced! But for bench rest shooting style Delta wolf work even better than Red Wolf.

The reason I say this is Gerhard has the perfect mix of hunting, rifle setup and product review. In My Honest Opinion.

So here is my assumption in where the level of precision falls in trying to create a pecking order amongst all the various brands of slugs:

There were a few I didn't rank due to having no knowledge about their performance... and correct me if I am wrong, but I am assuming if I haven't read any posts about the following brands, they likely are not good and/or not intended as 'precision' slugs(?):

SO... what order would you put them in, regarding precision only (not cost, etc)?

Any other precision centered brands out there that I'm missing? Any small batch mom & pop outfits I missed that deserve a spot on the list?

Bonus points if you want to share how much you typically pay for each slug for various brands and/or have any tips on how to get them cheaper comparatively to the greater online storefronts, such as who sells in bulk and what they charge in various quantities for big purchases, etc.

*Disclaimer: My list is based purely off of reading what others experiences have been/word of mouth. I am new to PCP and have only ever previously used pellets in my years of shooting springers.

My Maverick is currently being repaired for the next 4-6 weeks, so I am looking for another Airgun so I am not without my shooting fix. I have thinking about something like a Huben K1 or a Western Rattler. Is there anything else I should consider?

I've only shot fire arms and my rifle groups are decent but handgun groups are atrocious (I'm new to handguns). I've love to see your best airgun groups.

I recently purchased an FX King .22 600mm barrel. I was going back and forth between the 500mm and 600mm, especially when the 600mm comes with the stx superior heavy liner. I decided on the 600mm and was hoping it would shoot slugs and heavier pellets. I didn't have any slugs so I tried some pellets. The regulator is set at 110 bar. The rifle is easy to adjust the velocity, and I made adjustments to match the optimum velocity for each pellet, 880-930 fps. The lighter pellets, 15.9 - 21.14, didn't work so well. Even at the approx optimized velocity, I would get fliers which would open up the groups at 50yds. I would get two rounds touching and then two or more 1-2" away. I finally tried some 25.4 exact jumbo monsters. After adjusting the velocity up and down, I settled on 957 fps. The gun shot very low velocity spreads, and ended up shooting some great groups. This was my first outing with the new rifle, but it looks like it will shoot the heavy pellets quite well. I will experiment more as I have ordered additional slugs and heavy pellets. At 957 fps, I was on setting 21 on the macro-adjuster and 2.25 on the micro-adjuster. I shot a total of 64 shots and was still above the regulator setting. At that velocity, with that pellet, I was getting 51 ft/lbs of energy.
I really like the airgun and the GRS stock. It is light, efficient, powerful, and easily adjustable. The GRS stock is very comfortable for me and is easily adjusted to make it fit your shooting style. I actually like the location of the pressure gauges as you can monitor your bottle pressure very easily. It is simple to adjust your velocity to match your activity whether hunting, plinking, shooting for groups, or looking for a massive shot count. Attached are the last three groups I shot with the 25.4 monsters at 50 yards. The gun seemed to be settling down and the group to the left was my last group. All are 5 shot groups.

Purchased an FX Dreamline GRS .22 a few weeks ago. I am extremely happy with the rifle. I spent a couple weekends getting things dialed in and this thing is a laser beam. It came from Utah airguns with an FX barrel band installed. Perhaps because I ordered a moderator as well? I don't know but so far it hasn't caused any issues. I've only tested out to 60 yards as I really needed to start trimming down a ground squirrel infestation on my property. So far I have fired 10 shots "at" said squirrels and bagged 8 from 30-55 yards. [7] were taken shooting off hand and one with rifle resting atop a cedar fence post. I am using JSB Hades 15.89's @ around 905 fps and they hit hard! Very distinct impact sound. The rifle really loves JSB 18.13's @ 870 fps but I only shot those at 35 yards before setting up for the Hades. Optic is an Element Helix HDLR 4-16x50. Moderated with a DonnyFL Ryu and the kickstand is the Accu-Tac flavor. Yes...probably going to become a FX fanboy in short order!

I had so much enjoyment out of restoring and improving the old 392PA pumper, that I have been looking for another older airgun to restore. Not knowing for sure the vintage or particulars about this specific air rifle I figured $220.00 dont buy much these days, so I made the offer, and the seller accepted it.

I know a lot of folks love the Model 34 Diana for its low cost reliable performance. But I don't know how far that goes back? I liked this stock even without the pad the newer guns have, mainly for the cheekpiece, and the Monte Carlo. I figured on installing the Vortek PG4-HO tune kit and new seals in it. As well as taking the wood finish down to bare wood and refinishing it with a final Satin finish.

My concerns are will the tune kit work? I am not sure if this is the T-01 or T-05 trigger, I know its not the T-06, which I am fine with any of the three, they are all plenty good for a field gun to me.

I need some guidance here, will this Tune kit work? Is their better tune kits for Performance and accuracy with 7.8 to 11 grain pellets? but most of all, are these older Made In Germany models as good as the new? I know this is a Made In Germany rifle, so,,, how did I do, and what do I do know? Thanks ahead for any light on this new venture I'm partaking in!!

Well I have done gone and did it. I have been looking for a mid-power 22 pellet shooter. I wanted a fairly light weight easy to handle woods walker type gun.
I was at the air gun store and spotted a rather nice looking wood stocked gun and right off the bat it appealed to me.
I picked it up and the tag read “FX Cutlass” I knew nothing of the gun but the ergonomics were pleasing, the wood stock screamed at my nostalgic side. The price looked fairly reasonable and the condition was very good.
Sell it to me. I forewent the twisting of my arm, coming on the forum and asking why I should not buy it and any other feint indicating I was showing resistance. Nope, I was smitten. I took it to the shop’s range with the included miserable scope. What I found was a pretty accurate gun with an amazing trigger. It will be coming home tomorrow with some new glass and a decent set of rings.
I have thousands of JSB 18.13’s that have been waiting for a proper dispenser and I think I found it.
The issue I am having is there is very slim information available for this gun. I get that it is older and not a “fashionable” FX any more but two videos on YT and 2 posts here on the forum is all I have turned up.
Hoping a member here has one or had one long enough to share their opinions and thoughts on the gun.
Did I gamble? Yeah probably but the thing just spoke to me and recalling some posts here from members with the older FX guns convinced e to give it a chance.
Maybe it was the funky spring assisted lever close that got me?

Interesting results shooting into a 5 gallon bucket of water with hollow point slugs made on my new Thor Slug Press. Two shots through the lid and two shots straight into water completely different results 62 grain at 950 ft per second

I’ve noticed that my Maverick PCP shoots the first shot 10-15 fps faster than the rest. What could be reasons for this? Leak in 2nd reg? Cold barrel reducing leakage?
Just curious why this might occur….

I have,for real ADD,it affects all aspects of my life,so I am not one to take time to get there. That is the reason I love to shoot. By the time I have my "sight picture" and pull the trigger there is not much time or thought, the more I practice the less time involved in those chores. Simply logical

Getting close to putting a finish on my 3622, and want some opinions. There are a couple filler spots that would be visible if left in a stain/oil finish, and this wood didn't like tru oil when I tried it, so that out.

I'm thinking of trying a hydro dip film or just sponge camo, but I've done a couple of those and I'd like to try something different.
