I was thinking of trying a soft tune kit for an R1 carbine that’s in need of attention. I happen to have new original spec seals and a factory spring in my parts collection. Can I achieve something close to 12 ftlbs and a softer shooting gun by cutting the new factory spring? If so what would be a good starting point a far as number of coils to remove? Am I totally off base here and need a different wire diameter to achieve my desired results? Thanks in advance for any experienced opinions.

Hi all. I just received a brand new Athlon Ares ETR 3-18x50. It was purchased along with a bel ghost. The shop set it up and zeroed at 20 yards. When the shipment arrived to me it was shooting about 3’ low from point of aim at 30 yards. Pressure is showing ok. The fps from my chrono match their sheet. I attempted to adjust the elevation turret to zero the scope thinking maybe it got jarred in shipping. I for the life of me can’t get the elevation turret to turn. The windage turret turns smooth and crisp with ease.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong with the elevation turret? I also called the supplier and walked through a couple steps with no success. They suggested calling Athlon Monday when they open, but I was hoping someone here may have ran into a similar issue before and have advice for me.

I'm struggling to decide between a .30 Impact M3 or a .30 Panthera.

The only reason I'm leaning twoards the Panthera is because of the cross-compatability with Wildcat/Maverick magazines which I have several of already.

I like the range of modifications for the Impact, as well as the bullpup style action vs the Panthera's traditional style action that's directly above the trigger.

I'm primarily a benchrest shooter but do a little bit of hunting too. I've never owned a dedicated .30 airgun and I'm just interested in shooting slugs, not pellets. My desired FPS is ~900fps for hunting over longer distances.

If you were buying a new PCP which would you choose and why?

I have a dreamtac compact with a Huma regulator and I won't use it for 3 months. The regulator pressure is approximately 125 bar. Should I leave the tank pressure below that of the regulator?

For sale is this Atomic XT dressed in Ranger gear : folding stock , pic rail for scope mount , and 0db 110 moderator. Anyone that has followed these guns knows what a great pester they are whether at a permission or in the backyard. Quiet , crazy accurate , and reasonable shot count for such a small reservoir. Regulated , this gun shoots the JSB 18.1 pellets at 700-704 for 24 to 26 shots on the reg (20 ft lbs) with the transfer port on high. Dial the tp back one notch and send the 15.89 pellets at 710 -712 fps for 28 to 30 shots on the reg. Extremely accurate and built like a tank , this makes a great truck gun or one to keep handy by the back door. The trigger is one of the best on a PCP with a crisp let off at 14 -16 oz with little to no creep. What you see is what you get ; the gun with 1 factory 11 shot magazine , single shot tray , fill probe with male foster , thread protector , and paperwork. This Royale is a dependable and accurate rifle. The tank has been upgraded to a talon tunes 480cc carbon fiber tank to reduce the weight. Much better for offhand shooting now. Cosmetically she shows signs of wear but no major defects. Comes with 2 mags and a .25 moderator that is very effective at reducing sound.

I’m hopeful that they are a good match with DS Wolverine R HP. It shoots both the 18.13g and 25.39g very well, but I have a feeling that 21g should be about perfect velocity-wise…

Posing this to owners that have had theirs for awhile. Looking at one and thinking I would need 40 top offs of my 60 min tanks to break even money wise on that compressor. Looking at a good 40 hrs of run time assuming 3k to 4300 top off is about an hour ?? Just curious how many have a good 50 hrs + on theirs ?? Also has anyone rebuilt one ? Was it straightforward and were you able to get parts from target forge ? Thanks guys.

Wow what a fun piece of technology! I'm not big on the latest and greatest stuff especially when it comes to electronics but when I saw the hype around these and the price I knew I couldn't resist for long. My first day/night scope and can say it's pretty awesome do far. Really fits nice on my Taipan Shorty .22.
Got everything updated and mounted. Sighted in at night time at 30yds. Tested the LRF and ballistic calculator and dead on at 50yds elevation wise. Only problem was it was about 3/4" to the right of target. There was some wind so I'm not 100% if it was that or not. I'm used to lining my crosshairs up to bore on normal scopes and then level scope. Obviously no option for that here so hoping that isn't an issue?? I'll test real early in the morning to see. Does seem centered on rail though so hope it's good and just the wind. I do like the built in gyroscope to check my cant. I can't wait to do pesting and start recording some shots!

Just wanted to share. I bought one a while ago for my Air Arms s510 and really liked it. For 3D printed it has remained feeling solid. I just recently bought two more and had one custom made for a Marauder since no one made one!

Sometimes things become airgun related unexpectedly. My family pet conure, Pico, absolutely hates the sound of the pcp compressor filling pcps and extremely vocal about it.

Logically rats and squirrels are both rodents and biologically related. I've been told squirrels are just rats with a fully tail. Many people hunt and eat squirrels, but few in USA or Europe would consider eating rats. Why? If New Yorkers loved to eat rats as much as these people on Vietnam their rat problems would go away.

RAW HM1000 was leaking. I installed new seals today and put the action back in the stock. Charged to 3,000 psi and all seemed good.

Loaded pellet, pulled trigger and nothing. The hammer went forward and hit the valve but no air release. Valve sounded soft, not bound.

Went to remove the bottle and the block with the reg easily spun in the block. So the reg never pressurized. Trouble now is I can not remove the bottle and the stock wraps around the bottle so can not remove the action. What are my options? Drill bit in the foster and tap with hammer? Can I unscrew the gauge until it vents? Tank has 3k in it and trying not to die.

Next question. What did I do wrong on the reseal. All I did was take old seals out and put new ones in.

Back in Dec. 2023 @WilliamG posted a picture (below) of his RAW with a cool empty chamber indicator. I’ve never seen them for sale anywhere so I made one today.
I had a small teflon ball from an old diaphragm pump I tore apart. I drilled an .082 diameter hole almost all the way through and then 90° to that I drilled and tapped a 10-32 hole almost all the way through for a set screw. I inserted about a 10” length of .080” diameter weed whip line into the hole and locked it in with the set screw. I took a stone to the end of the weed whip line to put a radius on it so that I didn’t have a sharp corner that could cut an O ring.

Decided to make a barrel shroud for my tomahawk, this fits the longbow to and probably a hw80 but not tried it . Made from seamless steel tube 20mm OD with 2mm wall . Reduced at breach end to match the breach block . 2xm4 grub screws on the underside at the rear , tad of bonding when fitted . And a bit of brass to . Polished up ready for bluing . This is my Impact Arms RM 100/Theoben Crusader in .22. Restored to like new condition by David Slade. I think he did an outstanding job. For those that don’t know the Impact Arms RM 100 rifles were produced at the Theoben factory after Theoben closed. The factory was bought out minus the Theoben name. The remaining parts were assembled in to rifles under the name Impact Arms. Mine was made on a Crusader action. David Slade is the owner of Airgunwerks one of the premier places to have work done on springer/piston air-rifles.
