  • Question
scope sighting is off

OK guys here's one I can't figure out. My scope is shooting at about 7 o'clock 3 inches from bull ( at 20 yards) and my elevation is all the way up. How can I get back to a normal adjustment. I had this rifle dead zero before. I moved the adjustments about 40 clicks and have no more room to go up. It hasn't been banged or anything. I really don't know what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Diana  Diana 75HV Restoration Complete

I posted pics a while back when I first purchased this rifle. Here it is complete and now scoped.

David Slade did the mechanical rebuild and it is making just over 6.7fpe with JSB 7.87’s. The stock has been refinished and custom machined muzzle piece installed. The SWFA 12x is mounted on Sportsmatch adjustable rings which are zeroed and the rifle is hole for hole accurate and an absolute dream to shoot! The original open sights have been set aside in favor of optics for my old eyes. Not bad for a 44 year old rifle.

FX  New to PCP with new FX Impact M4 5.5mm - 800mm

Hey everyone! Looks like a nice and active community here. Glad I have found it and hope to contribute in the future.
For now I'd like some advice from the experienced members to help me set up my gun properly.
So I've purchased as the title says an FX impact M4 in 5.5mm caliber with an 800mm barrel and I intend to shoot slugs with it mainly, currently testing out ZAN 28gr and fx hybrids.
No additional FX accessories were purchased for it.

What I've noticed looking at numbers written by others and how my gun came from the factory is that that regulator pressure set at 150bar looks a bit too much?
I can't speak about accuracy just yet as the gun was not zeroed properly so far and it was mainly just shooting bottles etc, planning to do that this week if weather allows.
Bottle it came with is 580cc and it last me around 60 shots with the factory tune. Does that sound right?

Loving it for the few hours I had it so far so please let me know if there's something you think I should do straight away and ammo suggestions are also welcome!

Cheers

Help, shoebox compressors issues

My shoebox compressor is pretty much the same as the rest of the Chinese budget compressors and I'm having a reoccurring issue that maybe some of you might be able to help me diagnose.
1. The pump takes a minute or two to pressurize before it starts building air. ( Hose remains unpressurized)
2. When the pump finally starts to build air it will overpressurize to the point I have to stop the compressor or it will blow a burst disc. Once I stop the compressor and restart it it settles in at the pressure of my gun and pumps fine the rest of the day.
Could this be a bad check valve? As I said once pressure starts building it works fine the rest of the day and pumps quickly.

PCP Compressor...your reviews

I'll start this show...and fire flew from his fingertips........
Been using the Yong Heng $250 compressor now for about 5 years. I tell ya for the price it cant be beat. I like the water cooling...fill a 5 gal bucket 1/3 full water drop in 5-6 ice cream container blocks of ice. Can fill my 60 minute SCBA in about 1/2 hour, have four.I drop the tank in the bucket with the ice. Have the brass colored tubes with the fiber filters, all works good. I see there are alot of new style compressors out there now. I know all would like to here your reviews pro/con. Thanks...Pete in Montana

Daisy  2x Minty 777s

Two nights ago I was cruising Ebay, lo and behold, some guy was selling a pair of 777s in the original boxes and pretty minty conditions for 600.00 buy now for the pair. I contacted my pen pal air gun buddy 1000 miles south of me and said, "are you going to hit buy now or am I?" He told me to go ahead. So in a couple of days I will have a nice 777 to go with my NTM CMP 853. As my buddy will as well. As a 70 yr old I am kind of excited as I gifted my 717 recently due to the acquisition of a nearly NIB 46M. But after reading about Daisy 717,747 and 777 I have been on a casual hunt. I was shocked to see the pair for 600.00.

FX  FX Impact vs DRS vs King Question

Hi,

I've been shooting centerfire the last 3 years, so I haven't been keeping up with Airgun developments, but recently my last two PCPs (RAW HM1000 and a FX Crown Continuum) and a bunch of my powder burners were liberated from my storage unit. I was storing them while our house was being remodeled and I thought they would be safer in storage than in my house with all of the construction crews coming and going, but that proved to be incorrect. At least it is all insured.

I still have all of my filling equipment and a ton of 25 Cal ammo, so I will probably buy a least one new PCP. It will be used primarily for practice and pest control. The FX DRS Pro/MDT is interesting because I run a MDT ACC Elite Chassis on my primary PB competition rifle, but it's expensive and has a very limited shot count. I'm also considering the FX King (probably would buy a synthetic and swap out the stock for a Saber Tac Chassis) and maybe an Impact. I owned one of the early Impacts which I really liked, but I ultimately sold it because I spent more time tinkering with it than shooting it.

I'm assuming the newer Impacts are probably a much more stable platform than when I previously had one, but I'd love to hear from some folks that are currently running Impact M3s or M4s. I know they shoot great, but I want to be able to take an air rifle out of the safe and know I can pop a pest with it even if I haven't touched the rifle in months. That wouldn't have been the case with my first Impact. That was what I loved about the Crown. It could sit for months and would never lose pressure and would shoot just like it did when I put it in the safe.

If you have personal experience with any of these rifles, I'd greatly appreciate hearing your thoughts. I'm probably leaning towards the Impact right now primarily for it's versatility and accuracy if it's not going to be a maintenance headache.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

FX  M4 impact sniper came with 480cc bottle

I just bought a m4 impact sniper a couple days ago from a local dealer close to me. I haven't even shot it yet but I was playing with it when realized it has a 480cc bottle. I checked my receipt and he charged me for a sniper. I measured the barrel and it is 700 mm so that is correct and it has the moderator included. I was just wondering if there was some version that came with a 480cc bottle or if I need to contact my dealer and get it swapped out for a 580cc bottle. I don't want to be that guy but I also spent over two grand on a new rifle so I kind of want to get what I paid for.
Also the case was cut out perfect for the 480 bottle and not a longer one so I don't know if that means anything or helps

PCP Rifle  SOLD Western Airguns Sidewinder .30 with 350mm barrel and qd behemoth

Looking to see if there’s any interest on this fine modified Shorty of a beast.

It’s a 30 caliber Western sidewinder with a shortened crowned 350 mm barrel. Upon initial modification behemoth was clipping a little bit so I bored out the suppressor so that Rounds would clear for unaffected accuracy. Overall length is about 27 inches. Comes with original sidewinder bag. Shoots 47 grain NSA slugs at about 825 with a high degree of accuracy. As most of you know, it’s select fire so it’s semi automatic or fully automatic. All modification work on this piece has been beautifully done. Prism scope not included in pricing. Looking for 1600 shipped. PayPal friends and family.

N/A  New airgun help

Hello I'm new to the website but have been using a air rifle for a while now I only have 2 break barrels but I want to get into PCP so I can start hunting and target shooting at further range if anyone has any recommendations for a rifle under 600$ and pellets id greatly appreciate it. I would like to try .22 or 25 depending on ammo price

Small compressors poo-pooed?

Hello all,

New guy/first post. Was perusing the videos posted under how to fill tanks and in one of them the guy is basically saying don’t buy a smaller compressor unless you also get a “proper” water filter that costs around $400.

I am familiar with moisture in compressors, but I figured dedicated PCP pumps like the Air Venturi RovAir 4500 I purchased would have that covered. So now that I know that’s not the case, short of spending $400 on a filter what do y’all do to mitigate moisture when using a similar compressor?

Aside from that concern, I caught an acute case of airgun GAS quickly after seeing how much my daughter enjoyed shooting in the backyard with me (kinda lame excuse I know, but she really does like it and it’s a good excuse!). So I sold some safe queens and acquired a Bulldog .357, an Avenge-X Tactical in .22/.25 and a Reximex RPA .22 pistol.

Been into shooting sports for many years and I reload for every caliber I shoot (except for 22LR) and also cast my own boolits. But I really like the notion of just casting with no lube/gas checks needed, cans shipped to my door with no NFA garbage, and shooting with the whole family in the backyard!

Cheers to all, and thanks for reading.

HW/Weihrauch  HW30s - How Much Maintenance?

I have two air rifles: a 43 year old Crosman 766 American Classic. I bought it new and it's never needed anything except 3 drops of light machine oil on the tiny felt patch that is easily accessible.
Recently I bought a HW30s. I read on this forum 30 to 45 minutes daily and although I started with no knowledge of airguns but I am learning here. I see post about a wide variety of topics: repair questions seem to be frequent. I bought this rifle for plinking - which I love to do. I don't hunt or target compete or anything but plinking. I learned here to keep check on the three screws that usually loosen from "springer" vibrations and sure enough mine were loose and the front sight as well - I tightened them but I will get blue loc-tite for them.
I don't enjoy working on things - including my air rifle so I saw a forum topic on this web-site, "How to Maintain An Airgun", so I clicked on it and it sent me to You Tube where I watched a moderator and three older men that are recognized for their expertise with AirGuns. They said they seldom clean their guns until they drop in performance. They had different thought on the different types of AirGuns but for Springers one of them says if his rifle is shooting good he never cleans it. I was really surprised at this!
Other than putting blue loc-tite on the three screws and shooting high quality pellets I will likely not do any maintenance until / if my HW30s developed a problem. I haveI only put about 400 pellets through it. I will likely shoot about 450 - 500 pellets a month. Do any of you choose to do no routine manintenance on your springer Air Rifle until it drops in performance?
PS - when I look down the bore of my rifle from either end it is shinny silver with the spiral rifling very clean, end to end.
