*AIRGUN NEWS*
Hot off the press from The Gun Trade Association.
Following last year's consultation on Firearms Safety, today the Government issued its response. The headlines are:
Airguns are not to be licensed, nor will the exemption for 14-17 year olds possessing airguns on private land with consent be removed.
'Reasonable precautions' for the safe storage of airguns will be clarified. This will require locking an airgun out of sight when not in use if under-18s are on the premises and keeping ammunition separately.
The Government will work with the Trade to improve the safe keeping and handling of airguns, to ensure that home security devices are supplied with all new airguns, and that dealers explain the importance of secure handling and storage to purchasers of new airguns at the point of sale.

Why are all the GOOD looking springers discontinued??

-Diana 340 N-Tec
-Diana 430L
-BSA Lightning XL SE
-Basically any Stutzen/Mannlicher styled rifle
-Walther LGV or LGU
-Etc.

There are some obvious exceptions, but in the $600 and under bracket, almost everything looks like a 2x4 with a barrel put on it. Every time I run across a new-to-me springer that’s reasonably priced and looks really good, I find it’s been discontinued! Is the golden age of attractively sculpted stocks and well-formed actions a thing of the past?!

New Steyr LG 110 Regulator

Hi,
I am a proud owner of Steyr LG 110 FT version! Unfortunately, the regulator is begining to perform bad lately and needs to be replaced. When I leave the rifle even for a short period of time without using it, it takes me about 10-15 shots to get it to the right velocity. Anyway, I must buy a new regulator, but I don't know how and where. I've tried pilkguns.com, and I believe all the European retailers, like Benke, Mundilar, Euroshooting but still no response from any of them. Do you know, where I can find spare parts and a new regulator for my Steyr. It is a top-quality rifle and it's quite frustrating that I cannot find parts for it. I am relatively new to this forum and just recently got into the FT life here in the States and don't know anyone who could help me with the technical issues that might occur. Well, actually I know someone: David Slade - God bless him, a great gentleman and a flawless gunsmith and shooter as well, who helped me a lot with my Pro Target.
Thank you, guys! I will be very grateful for any advice that you could give me regarding the Steyr regulator!

  • Question
Screws for Impact M3 bottom rail?

Ok Impact guru's I've got a quick question.

I've swapped out the bottom rail so many times that I forgot if all the screws should be the same length or not?

I just swapped out the Scandanavian Arms rail for the K&L Gen 3 rail and I noticed that 2 of the 4 screws are shorter than the other 2. The 2 shorter screws don't bite much. I'm thinking the SA rail may have come with 2 shorter screws, but I can't remember (and I don't see any spare screws laying around).

Are all your screws the same length?

Which LDC would be the quietest on a Daystate Revere in 25 cal.

I am considering buying a Daystate Revere in 25 cal and noise is a concern as I have neighbors on 3 sides. Open field on the other, where I shoot. I have the Huntsman Regal in 22 cal and love it and now want a 25 cal. I want to keep it as quite as possible so as not to bother any one. Any one out there with the Revere in 25 and what do you have on it?

4 weeks + 4 winners = 120 BOXES of slugs from NSA - week 3

The replies & pictures from the week 2 event were awesome! Let's keep 'em going for week 3.

Nielsen Specialty Ammo, Inc has been at the leading edge of American made, high quality, affordable airgun ammunition since 2015. The family owned company operates out of Labadie, Missouri where customer service is a full time job for Nick and 3 of his 5 children, plus two daughter-in-laws. NSA distributes their products direct to consumers, through distributers within the USA, as well as a growing distributor network throughout the world.

In cooperation with Nielsen Specialty Ammo, we're hosting a very special giveaway, actually 4 of them! To thank you for making NSA the most popular slugs in the USA, Nick would like to give back by offering 4 individual winners 30 boxes of any small caliber slugs. That's not a typo! It can be all one slug, or 30 different ones. That's $659 worth of slugs to each winner!

All you have to do is reply below with a few kind words or pictures. Each week we will pick a winner based on the thread # (using a random number generator).

Week 3 begins now and ends July 22nd.

ATTENTION PARTICIPANTS:
*Slugs must be in stock (most of them are anyways), and from .17 cal to .303 cal. NSA only ships to addresses within the USA, therefore this giveaway is open to participants within the United States only (void where prohibited). In order to participate in these events, you'll need to be a member of Airgun Nation (so you can submit a reply). Multiple entries by the same contestant will result in disqualification. Claimants must be 18 years of age or older. If you are below the age of 18 and win, you may have an adult, parent, or adult legal guardian claim the prize on your behalf. Prizes must be claimed within 7 days of the event’s end. Winners will be responsible for all state/federal taxes and must provide a completed W9.

**Please do NOT subscribe to email notifications from this topic or you will receive an email alert every time someone submits a guess!**

Shooting With Glasses

I got put in progressive lenses a couple years back. Tried using contacts as well and wasn't happy, ended up having carry cheaters with me to see up close. Ditched the contacts this past winter and have been happy but this is the first time I've done any shooting. I wear small-frame Oakleys and to be able to see through the leans I have to raise my head up to look through the scope. Hard to get the right eye relief and get a consistent position and cheek weld. i obviously need bigger lenses. I'm thinking of just going with bifocals rather than progressives because I don't see much need for mid-range in shooting glasses. Love to have feedback from anyone else that's dealt with this. Is getting contacts for shooting a better choice? Found several discussions on shooting with glasses but everyone seemed to be far sighted which is opposite my problem. I can see iron sights just fine and I can actually shoot through the scope with glasses off but with AO scope it screws the yardage up quite a bit. Thanks.

Need suggestion on how to kill mice

Hello everyone! I'm a newbie on using air guns, and I'm looking for some advice on shooting mice that are coming by my chicken coop every night. They are eating up the chicken food, pooping everywhere, and chewing up stuff. About 4-5 mice scatter away quickly when I shine light on them at night.

I've been using mouse traps for a while and caught a bunch, but now, either only the smarter ones are left, or they became smarter, the traps don't work at all, and it has been killing sparrows instead (I don't want sparrows dead.. just mice).

The main issue is that, I can not spend any more money on gun related stuff, due to... nagging wife. It is just not worth the nagging and it is better to leave the mice alone. I thought of poison, but I learned they cause other ecological harm, so i dont want to do that either. Here is what i've got.

Beeman P-17
Crosman 2100
Cheap reflex sight
Cheap 4x scope
Bunch of mouse traps (been killin sparrows so I stopped)

*I won't use these, because I can't shoot actual firearms in the backyard, but maybe someone has an idea to incorporate it somehow?
Mossberg 500 Shotgun
Kimber 1911 .45ACP

1) At first I tried with Crosman 2100, but I can not really sit outside and wait for mice to come out, so took the scope out and used iron sights. However, aiming quickly was not working because I'm cross eye dominant. And I multi-pumping it made the shooting not enjoyable. So I said no to Crosman 1377 or 1322.

2) Since I've been shooting a Kimber 1911 .45ACP for a longtime in shooting ranges (right hand / left eye), i thought I'd have a better chance with a Beeman P-17. I've been shooting at stationary paper targets in a well-lit indoor shooting range only. And I've never shot at a moving target in the dark, so I was not acquiring targets fast enough.

3) So I got a cheapo $20 reflex sight for quicker target acquisition... but I realized it sits high on the Beeman P-17, and I have to install it on the front of the gun (because rear "slide" is used for cocking. This caused me taking longer to find the red dot. I tried doing the Center Axis Relock stance, to keep the gun close to my face.. But holding the gun at 30-45 degrees made it inaccurate (maybe due to bullet drop), and was taking longer to aim.

4) So what I'm doing now is.. sneaking out to the backyard quietly at night with Beeman P-17 with ironsights + flashlight. Turn on the flash light while aiming somewhere on the chicken coop, and try to pick + shoot as mice scatter. Doing this for days, and I'm just too slow. And once they scatter, they don't show up for at least 30 min.

Is this even possible to do by practice?? The chicken coop is about 5-10 yards from where I shoot. I am hitting a quarter taped on the coop, about 75% of the time during daytime, but the quarter is not moving at all and I'm aiming for good 3-5 seconds before shooting. I hit it much less when I shoot while I'm moving or trying to shoot quickly. It also does not help that P-17 is a single shot pistol.

*I understand that Beeman P-17 may not kill a mouse in one shot, so I've prepared a wooden club in the chicken coop for whacking it dead.
*I don't need to worry about hitting chickens, because they are sleeping enclosed in a housing inside the coop.
*I would like to shoot them to extinction, for fun. But if there is any non-shooty method, please do suggest.
*I'm living in a populated city.

Any suggestion would be appreciated. My efforts have pretty ineffective, and would like to try a feasible suggestion before I give up. I am seeing slight improvement on accuracy on shooting targets quickly after days of practice.

Tuning  Leshiy 2 tuning headache

I received an new Leshiy 2 from Edgun Spain a few weeks ago, the configuration is as follows; new forward plug, EAR, 350mm barrel, .22 calibre, LW barrel, 5mm puck, 2x1.2mm power jets.

First tests at 30y with over 16 various pellets were ridiculous, may as well brought a 12 gauge, then upon inspection & dismantling the moderator I noticed they'd supplied me with a 4.5mm baffle insert by mistake, which they rectified & sent me a whole new moderator with the correct baffle insert size. So now my groups have tightened up to about a 50p size at 30y, using JSB 18.1grn.

But stretching the gun out to 50y the groups are terrible, you can actually see the pellets spiralling out of control? So im thinking there's something not right with the tune of the gun, sending back the gun is a no-go, it took almost 3 months to arrive in 4 boxes......a bloody logistical nightmare & complete headache.......(be warned if your thinking of ordering one)!!
Now I also own a HW110 & a HW97, so im semi proficient at shooting & can group both those guns nicely at 50y, so shooter error isn't the issue, nor is it trigger control, scope, even had a gunsmith check the barrel in case it was the issue. Using an FX chrono the guns standard deviation & spread is very good, only a few FPS

Can anyone please share data with me on power jet sizes, reg pressures & puck sizes.......this whole area seems a conflicting mine field of cloak & dagger information out the on the web? I'm not chasing power, or even really shot count, just accuracy for clean dispatch at 50y.

Many thanks in advance.
