JST Aircuda MAX regulator fix.

I've never had a regulated gun so I'm totally ignorant on the matter,

Yesterday I noticed the Regulator gauge was showing same pressure as the airtank gauge so I filled the gun to 250 BAR and to make sure it's was not the gauge I tried to shoot with the Hammerspring completely backed off, and sure enough I got definite valve lock with 2 extremely slow shots.

So I turned the Hammerspring at max and she shot fine basically like an unregulated gun,......I could just leave it at that and I would be completely happy but on the other hand this could be the perfect situation to learn how to work on regulators.

I will take any tips, instructions and so forth, will listen and then try see if I can do something about it.

Thanks in advance to anyone that is willing to contribute.

No more destroying sprinkler lines for this guy.

So this guy started popping up in my yard about a month ago. Digging under my walkways, in my grass, and chewing on my sprinkler lines. He always seemed to disappear when I grabbed my gun though. But today that all changed. Today I looked outside and I saw him, then he saw me, then we played cat-n-mouse for about 30 mins around the yard. Because it's been cold and raining for the last few days he was more than eager to keep coming out to get some sunshine. He finally settled on a wall long enough for me to get a shot from standing at 25 yards. Got him just right in my cross hairs, squeezed the trigger, and let the 22gr FX Hybrid fly out of my brand new M3 Compact.
I have to say, I am very impressed and satisfied with the performance of those FX Hybrids in 22 cal. Hit with authority, no pass through, and lights out instantly! Perfect for back yard pesting🤙

Go Brocock Ranger XR or Ghost...?

Okay well, the saga of trying to get a replacement Ranger XR continues. (last one new off the shelf was rusted)

Tomorrow the replacement Brocock Ranger XR in 22 WAS supposed to arrive tomorrow morning, after 3 weeks back and forth.

Well, today I got a call from AOA and well, they screwed up and sent 2 guns to me (someone else's order) and vs just letting me get mine and send the other back they recalled the whole order. 🤬 The guy was apologetic, but wouldn't give me a fixed date on when I would get the gun I have already paid for, 5 weeks ago.

Right before the "sike" you have to wait one to two more weeks for your gun" phone call I had put in a pre order on a Ghost carbine in 177 and I would switch out the Uragan because I want a slug shooting 177, and @SorenDrost shows it can do it. The only consolation I got from AOA is they would try to expedite the order, but wouldn't send me a gun on the shelf, I had to wait for the one in transit.

Now I am considering just cancelling the order and get the Ghost instead.

Since getting rid of the perfectly functioning Ranger XR in 177 this has been anything but smooth to get a trade in Ranger XR in 22.

My new .177 Field Target Design

Hey guys! Took my new .177 Field Target out for its maiden voyage today at the weekly Tuesday “Old Geezer Match. It was set up at 26yds with a 1” KZ reducer installed and was shot with 12 FP Springers and 20 FP PCP rifles. It worked perfectly. Then at midway it was moved to 53 yds and reducer was removed and then shot at with the same rifles. Again it worked perfectly. Was easy to reset and when paddle was hit it went down.
The reducers are installed on the outside of the faceplate as per AAFTA rules.
I don’t have a video of it working but it is very reliable and showed no damage at all.
I will start making more of them and can cut almost any design for the faceplate.
Contact me if you are interested in them. They are high quality and are not the least expensive targets available.

How many of us "name" their air rifles?

.22 Daystate Red Wolf HP - Bleu
.22 Cricket mini Carbine - Gonzo
.22 Edgun R3 Long - Eddie (yeah, I know, not very original)
.177 Daystate Pulsar standard - Alpha Wolf (named WAY before DS came out with the Alpha Wolf platform)
.177 FX Dreamline Classic - LeStat
.257 AirForce Texan - Reacher

Tuning  Think I’m going to do a oil rub finish on HW35e Walnut

This puppy has such a great pop shot cycle. Think I like it more than the R1 in .22. Wish my R1 was a .25

What do you say about the factory finish on this Walnut? I did my own FWB300 lefty stock. I’m thinking I would do the same here. The FWB has some stripes. This HW just wanted the pores filled and a solid feel. Oil rub seems to wear great. The absolute most important thing is first coat, making sure pores are all sealed.
Any tips advice? I know to use a sanding block. I usually finish at 320-400-600. There’s no scratches at all so probably just tape off the checkering and seal it.

NLA FX Royale Walnut Stock New Takeoff Came off a .22 Cal. $350.00

This is an FX Royale 22 stock that was taken off when gun was purchased. This has really nice grain and color. I decided when i bought the gun to nice to carry around and scratch up so i ordered a synthetic. Been sitting in gun case since never put back on!! You can PM or Call or Text 9892257424

Pieced together air rifle

Since we are talking classifieds....

Excluding modular air rifles where parts are sold to mix and match, and upgrade....

I let this topic sit for a while before asking this question so the ad cannot be identified.

I saw an older classic air rifle in the classifieds a while back that is a fairly rare style of that particular rifle model. The base model is still available, and is sold a few times a year in the classifieds.

Looking at the seller's postings it appears that this rarer model was assembled from three different rifles with two being the more common type.

Would you purchase a rifle like that?

Is it fair to sell a rifle like that without full disclosure?

I am just curious on others thoughts.

Am I correct?

  • The seller sold you bad product and should take the gun back or pay for repair.

  • I took a chance buying on line and lost the bet.

  • Since the seller had no knowledge of a defect he is not to blame.

  • I should publish the sellers name in order to protect the innocent.

I bought a used airgun and after a phone call I determiined the guy was a good egg. I paid and he shipped immediately. I got the gun and it looked perfect as advertised. Then I shot it. The gun blew air into my face every time I shot it. I contacted the seller who had NO knowledge of this problem. So evidently the seal failed while in shipment to me. I sent it off for repairs and hoped it would be warranted as the gun was less than a year old. Tony at Talon Tunes would not warrant the work as I was not the original buyer. So I am out at least $28 for original shipping $175 for repairs and unknown return shipping, call it another $28. I contacted the seller who agreed to reimburse me $90 for my added expense. I say he should pay the whole bill. I am not going to say anything further to the seller as he has shown his true colors. If I am right according to any comments I will give out his name. If I am wrong, I won't publish it and you all can go without warning and maybe buy from him. Before you wags write that I should have fixed it myself, I submit that there should have been nothing to fix. How can you not know there is an air leak when it hits you in the face? I am getting gun shy as this is my second time at getting bad product. On the bright side, I may have saved someone else! LOL I am laughing to keep from crying!

Pft tuning question on a Prophet?

So during our recent match I noticed the report of a few competitors rifles had that distinct Pft report that says to me that it’s tuned efficiently. I struggle to get that same tune on my Prophet. I set the reg, run the HS in until it reaches max velocity then back it off until the velocity drops 3% which should be tuning to the knee. But I don’t get that same Pft report. Any suggestions?

Guns, pcps in particular, I regret letting go...

Just some of the guns I've owned but let go for one reason or another: 1. A MAC1 tuned RWS Career II 707 long gun, 2. a RWS Excalibre (an FX rebadged sharpshooter) I bought off the Yellow Forum from a famous muscleman from California, 3. a stock BSA Super10 I bought from Straightshooters of ARK. Whenever I reach for my airguns, which, nowadays are not as frequent as I would like, I almost always think if these guns and sigh. Regrets. What are your regrets?

SOLD Rare QB 57 in .177 & .22

Too Many guns, I am thinning the herd. I have had this side cocking QB57 for awhile but rarely shot it. It is too loud for suberbia. It is an excellent take down rifle and is in great condition. It comes with both the .177 and .22 barrels, and it takes seconds to swap out. The .177 does not have the front sight, but the QB is best with a red dot or light scope. It comes it its origional case. (Scope not included) $125 shipped. Paypal F&F or you pay fees, or USPO M.O. I have great reps here and on the GTA.

Thank you for looking,

Philip

Leshiy2 250mm 25cal Quiet Project Thread

starting a thread to document my travel down the dark road of quieting down my edgun leshiy2 250mm 25cal

began with a post about it prior to this one and got a lot of good, useful info from experienced members.
debate really centered on whether to get a whole separate gun to run quiet and just keep this stock; decided to mod this one.

- project started as stock everything, non-repr model
- bought donnyfl ronin 22/25cal w 1/2-UNF end + 250mm shroud kit
- chorno has me running stock at about 850fps with hades 25cal pellets
- this setup sounds exactly like a literal pneumatic nail-gun - too loud for me

spoke with edgunwest team and they recommended a pair of 1.3mm jets & discussed hornet mod kit, ordered both and on the way...
i will be manually tuning the reg, changing the stock jets for the 1.3mm pair, and installing the hornet kit.

more to come...

New Member - New Rifle… Jumped back in with both feet.

Hello Gents’ and Ladies if you’re in here as well. I made a big DIVE back into premium airgunning today with the purchase of a ew FX Crown Mk II, .22, 600mm, Arctic Wolf with an Athelon 6-24x50. Oh my God they have become proud of these top level guns. My last air rifle was a Daystate X2 PCP about 16 years ago and long ago sold.
Have been / still am an enthusiastic powder-burner and reloader of many cartridges for both plinking and Hi Pwr precision paper shooting. Don’t have any plans to hunt.
I have to say, though, that the Incredible level of Precision, Accuracy, Shot Counts, Variety of projectiles to pick from and ability to Tune on a specific rifle to experiment and maximize the results is Really intriguing for a shooting “Geek” like me.
I have everything coming in my direction now except the portable Air supply.

I am Excited as Hell and will look forward to interacting with this Great Community of enthusiasts you have got Here on Air Gun Nation
