FX Crown competitors

About ready to step up the game and treat myself, looking at Crown Mkii in .22. Would love to swing for the continuum kit but will likely end up with a 500mm Synthetic.
Question is, is there another option in:
- traditional rifle format (not a fan of action or airtube near my ear)
- less than 40” not including moderator
- adjustable, I have my avenger tuned to go 22 to 35fpe with hammer spring only and I use it
- sub 7lb
- needs to shoot pellets (I have tons of cphp and jsb 18s)
- as well as slugs (I also have tons of Nielson 17-23gr)
- budget is up to about $1500 on the upper end

What I have now:
Avenger .22
Flashpup .22
PP 750 .177
RWS D48 .22
(So you see this is a treat for me)

Aspirations long term include HFT, NRL22, possibly bench?
Not a hunter, I pest rats in urban (has to be quietish) backyard and paper punch 20-125 yd. When target shooting I usually use sticks and stool or a natural rest, sometimes prone if I’m feelin it.

I like the idea of the Crown for its versatility and the opportunity to try out some higher weight slugs for 100yd.

Thanks for reading. You all have been a wealth of knowledge over the years so interested in ideas if any seem to fit and maybe other input to consider.

Spring(er) Knock Out

It’s been said that you actually need a powerful platform with a Slug barrel to accurately shoot slugs. (Husky Voice) Well, do ya, PUNK!? If you haven’t already, please consider subscribing, I’m trying to troll a troll and beat him to 1K subs 😂 & I’m actually trying to grow the channel and see where things go. I like doing a lot of unconventional stuffs.

Dates

I have to train myself to look at the date before i start reading a 3 year old post again .
so i see a post a "few moments ago" Diana 48 . I open the post and it is dated 2018 . jump to latest and it is posted minutes ago , but everything up to that is dated 2018 ? IS this a case where someone reads an old post and answers it ? where did that old 2018 post come from ?

NLA 177 hw100 sporter carbine laminate

Looking to sell my like new hw100. The gun has maybe 200 shots through it. Not really in a rush to sell it tho. Comes with 2 magazines and the single shot loader. The guns is flawless. Shot in in the yard a few times but it's to heavy for my liking. The gun is unchanged from factory except the hammer spring which is very easy to adjust. It has the picatinny rail and lever from factory. Here is a few pictures of it. One of magazines and the single shot loader are not in the pictures but ARE included in the sale.
I'm firm on price . $1200 shipped and insured.
If you want more pictures or have questions pm me. I prefer PayPal but will work with other forms of payment. I'm also willing to trade for something of equal value and quality. Hopefully something a little lighter. just let me know what you have.

Which one of these 28 rifles would you choose to own or hunt with, and why?

Between several other projects and family requirements, I worked in some time to shoot utilizing the 18 yard indoor range due to the nasty midwest winter weather that was being experienced when I started this project.

For this exercise, I took each of my 28 rifles, springers and pcps, and shot one 10 shot group with each, looking for kill consistency on a squirrel at 18 yards.

Without a doubt, the one real takeaway, is that regardless of springer or pcp, if you are a skilled enough woodsman, and can get within 40 yards, any one of these rifles is more than capable of making a very clean kill, every shot, and every time.

As I have previously posted a lot of information regarding each of these rifles over the last several years on this forum, I won't go into particular detail other than to say all of them have been meticulously tuned. As the weather cooperates, I intend to do a similar comparison of the +40 fpe rifles at just over 80 yards, the maximum distance I have conveniently available at home.

I would be interested in knowing, if you could only have one of these rifles, which one you would pick, and why. My problem is that I love them all.

Happy New Year!

Arkens Light weight scopes

SO while surfing web New Years Eve I saw a review on the new Arken scopes and wondering if anyone tried them yet , I pulled the trigger and ordered one last night , I did not need a scope but I always have to try every new scope which is out there lol . I was very imressed by just how light they were , Hey I had gotten evey model Arken made while I loved them for the money , I did get rid of all of them for 2 reasons the power wheels were hard I mean very hard and in extreme cold they got stiffer , other thing is their scopes weighed more then any optic I owned ,
So when I saw these light weight ones I just had to get one , I went for the Mil version I prefer them , Now I kicked it around on the 4x16 or 6x24 , most of my hunting is done with 6 to 10 x so the 4x16 seemed to be best for me , but I went with the 6x24 as the price was pretty much same like $20 difference , Also the weight of the 4x16 and the 6x24 both weigh 23 ounces , I cant understand the 4x16 is same weight but maybe it is a misprint of this but Ill update my findings ,cant weight
So chime in guys anyone get one yet if so Please tell me how is it ??????????????????????????

Ballistol & Dieseling/detonation

Shooting the R9 today. Accuracy seemed to be dropping off so cleaned the barrel. Ballistol on a nylon brush followed by a pull thru mop and finished with cleaning pellets till they came out clean. Gave the breech/hinge area a quick spay as well and wiped it clean and dry as I could.

Loaded a pellet and thought I had just fired my 10/22 in my basement. Loud as a PB. The pellet hole in the target has a wide black soot ring around it. Second and following shot velocities and accuracy were normal so I know I didn't immediately blow a seal or do some other obvious damage. I suspect a drop or two got into the piston cylinder when I gave the breech a quick spray. I know the barrel was dry and the breech area was wiped dry.

I know Ballistol is not petroleum based but apparantly it can diesel/detonate.

Pellet Scam (H&N SNIPER)

I was blistfully going through my last tin of H&N Sniper Magnum pellets. A couple of my guns loves them. Like a lot of airgunners I was shocked to find they are nowhere to be found!

For a while I was thinking of new ways to search for the Sniper mags daily. I was determined at this point and finally found a dealer with plenty in stock (see attached).

I anxiously placed my order and was informed the only payment accepted is bitcoin (this is when I went brain dead!). What kind of legit dealer only deals in bitcoin?

Well I happened to have some Bitcoin so I ordered the pellets and waited, and waited, and waited. After a couple of weeks with no tracking number and no pellets I sent them several emails never to get a response.

Be leery of this site if you come across it...

A little rework of my Ghost

I've seen where a couple of folks within these pages whine about..."that's too large a pressure gauge" !?
I don't understand. If you can't read it, or the graduations are so close together, there is NO delineation from graduation line to graduation line, there is NO accuracy, it's useless. So...I fixed both of the gauges on my Ghost.

Plus, at least with my gun, the Huma and the Wika are reading different. The Huma read just over 90 bar. As you can see, the Wika reads just under 110 bar.
My guess, the Wika is more accurate.

A little easier to read ? AND...MORE accurate.

Need a little advice tuning a regulated gun

Hey all, need a little advice since it's been a few years since I've tuned air rifles. I'm working on my wife's Prod since it had a ton of hammer bounce. This gun has an in tube Huma regulator and factory weight hammer. My problem is that I'm getting a larger ES and SD than I think I should be. The gun has a 20" Mrod barrel and is shooting around 13-14 fpe, I'm unsure of the regulator setpoint.

Anyway, I went to a shorter stiff HS to remove the hammer bounce. The average velocity has stayed the same, so that's a net positive. The ES over the string is 30 fps. If I recall, I think the regulator might be set to the highest pressure.

IIRC, one of the potential reasons for a larger than expected ES on a regulated gun is a higher reg setpoint imbalanced with a too soft hammer strike. I'm going to pull the reg and drop the setpoint since I don't want to increase the cocking force for my poor wife's arthritis. But I wanted to check and see if I'm on the right track.

Show us your Krals!

Since the np03 seems to be a buzz right now, and I just converted one to a bullpup, I figured why not start a Kral gun pics thread.

Here is the aforementioned pup. Took a breaker and cut it down to size, used the tube and barrel from an NP03, dual hammer spring, biathlon lever, and the knight multi caliber bolt. Has the Troy Hammer power adjuster mod done as well, but all other ports are stock.

finished the action last week and finally got around to the stock this week. Just one coat of tru oil and it came out so dark I was worried it would be just brown if I did another. I took the quick way out and did 2 coats of poly brush on. Sanded it back with 400, and sprayed 3 layers of poly. It's a hunter so didn't care if it came out perfect, just needed something. Wish it was a bit lighter but it's cool, still better than the factory finish.

Running 4 mags at 26 fpe with polymags, can get 3 mags at 32 fpe but it got to be too much for the buck rail moderator and I don't need that much with this rig.

Just a hair over 27" long and 8.4 Oz with the bipod.

Anyways, let's see everyone else's Kral guns! I'm obviously a fan!

NLA Uragan 600mm .30 for sale or trade

This rifle no longer serves a purpose on my collection. My huben took its place.

Rifle shoots 50.15 jsb pellets at 890 but shoots 50.15 knockouts better at 870fps , very, very consistently and accurately. Group shown is 1 full mag @102yards

Comes with original paperwork, case, and the tins of ammo shown ...

$1250 split shipping. PayPal friend and family.

I will trade for a high end red dot with magnifier (eotech etc) ,

a high end lvpo ,

Or a huben .22 doesn't matter what year just not a 2018.

Thinking we have enough rain ... Dang !!!

Last 24 hours a tad over 6" of rain, near 3.4" sense midnight and it now just past 8 am .... 17.8" for the month and it's still raining HARD !
Septic system is full of water, so no toilets, showers or water down the drains until rains stop and water table recedes somewhat.
All the snow ( Or most ) in the Sierra Nevada mountains under 8000' is getting rained on making it a slop fest !!! ... It likely will just freeze into glacial type ice once it becomes winter time cold again once this system passes threw.
Fresh powder snow on Ice makes for a Very dangerous Avalanche season ... Skiers & back country travelers beware.

First go in PCP land

After a little tuning, tinkering, and zeroing, my first official PCP session went pretty well. These things are amazing! The splatter burst was at 50 yards. 5 shot groups on the corners with 10 shot groups center diamond. 8” gong at 102 yards, (3) 5 shot groups. Crown MK2 .22, 380 barrel. JSB 18.13’s at 895 fps.

Well that didnt take long

Just "finished" up my crosman 2240 bottle gun build and got it sighted in at 40 yards with the field target trophy 13.66 in 5.53HS. Left it in the garage hoping this damn squirrel who I keep seeing in my chicken pen would show up. This is the 3rd this week I've got in there. Once they know where to go I think the others just follow the trail.

It finally popped out of the pen and made it over to the walnuts at the backstop I put out when I seen her this morning.

Waited til she grabbed a nut and settled in on top of the oak log I have there for them to, well, sit on and get shot.

She was facing directly toward me chomping on the nut. Sent one down range, right above the left eye.

I guess 13 fpe is plenty at 40 yards lol.

This is the 4th squirrel I've shot recently with no pass thru and they all were DRT. That energy dump really does make a difference. Oddly, all 4 of these squirrels were also females.
