I’m thinking about putting a scope or red dot on my HW45 and HW75

I’d be interested in hearing about your success stories and failures. I have a set of Beeman fully adjustable rings with the pins that I think will work for one. They have an oddball dovetail size and don’t know where to source a set of rings for the other. Maybe a Fastfire would be a better idea. I don’t know. I have a couple Leupold 2x pistol scopes here that I’m not using so that would be the least expensive option.

PCP Rifle  WTS Walnut Streamline .25

I am looking to sell my backup competition rifle , a walnut FX streamline .25 caliber. It is huma regulated, and heavily modded to get high power. This gun has been upgraded by Chuck and myself and will shoot sub moa with JSB 34 grain pellets. This gun has been harmonically tuned as well as tune to shoot the 34 grain pellets at around 900 FPS. This gun also allows for higher power to be shot as well. We did get this gun up to 82-84 foot pounds with the same pellets, but we lowered the power back down for best accuracy at 100 yards. Chuck upgraded this gun to except 300 bar fills, but I personally only go to about 280 bar. I can send pics if anyone’s interested. I just have to go snap some photos as this gun is sitting in my storage unit.

I am asking $600 plus shipping for a perfectly tuned rifle. No optics are included.

Traditional Rifle  SOLD HW98 .177 tuned to 11 ft lbs.

I bought it used from a member here, it needed some work. This one is not a show piece it's a shooter, has a couple of marks on the barrel and a couple of marks on the stock, but it looks fine to me as a shooter or hunting rifle.

I stripped it clean, honed the tube out and made a custom guide and top hat for the factory spring, which has 4 coils removed. Spring ends were closed and polished. It shoots around 11+ ft lbs with a 8.44 badacuda 8 doing 761fps sd 1.8 es 6.2, or with QYS 8.48 doing 769fps sd 3.0 es 9.1.

The trigger has been polished, the adjustment screw was cut down so it doesn't show. I made steel posts for the front stock screws to try and center up the action in the stock, not perfect but much better than it was. The whole thing is lubed with Krytox, except the trigger which I used remoil.
Everything was deburred and polished, the piston was buttoned at the rear and has the factory piston seal. The barrel was re-crowned.

Here is some 20 yard groups with the gun resting on my hand, and my hand on top of the front bag. The lower right target with vertical stringing was shot off the bags, which it didn't like.

$375 shipped with UPS and tracking. I'll take check, money order or cash. Gun will ship with tracking info once I have the money or cleared check. Lower 48 only, and where allowed to ship.
If you need more pics or questions DM me. Thanks.✌🏻

my PCP shooting has changed now ,I do a lot more of it,

Why,because now I use my air compressor......it had been sitting unused for 3 years because I used a handpump, why, because it was like a workout. What happened is I a bought 4 new PCPs around the beginning of the year, and they all had larger and higher pressure bottles=too much handpumping for me ......so now just fill and shoot.

Obviously i may need to get a 700mm slug liner, any answers would be appreciated.

New Need Help Choosing Rifle

I am new to this forum, just signed up hours ago. And new to the adult version of air rifles 😀.

I joined the forum to learn and get opinions from those who are in the know.

I would like to find a rifle to use for varmint hunting and plinking. To provide a little more context, for many decades I have hunted with and shot regular firearms, compound bows, Black Powder, and Crossbows.

After over a week of researching, it seems like I find a rifle that interest me, and I as I look for best pricing and availability I find it’s been discontinued.

I understand that break barrels aren’t nearly as accurate as under levers. And that PCPs are the most accurate and have less recoil but, I prefer to stay away from the inconveniences of charging the gun. I like the thought of grab and go.

I narrowed my criteria to, underlevel, under $600 and has some kind of recoil management system. As I mentioned, I found several that meet my criteria but they have been discontinued or they are not in-stock. The only 2 I am aware of that are still manufactured are the Umarex Synergis and Norica Dream Hunter. The reviews of the Synergis leads me to believe it’s not accurate enough for me. And I’m not familiar with the Norica brand but, the reviews are favorable.

My questions to those on here with experience, are there models I have missed that are still available and meet my criteria? Is the Dream Hunter worth buying?

Or should I open my narrowed criteria to allow PCPs or Breakbarrels?

TIA,
Mitch

if I may interject an observation about springers and pcps is this

I quality springer, which there are many can outshoot a pcp that costs about the same.
Yes ,I tested my theory yesterday,ok it is a generalization,never-the-less for me it holds true.
A $400-500 springer is more accurate that a $400-500 pcp...
I think why too many guys go with the pcp is because of the hype,or they may have a hard time cocking a springer,I see no other reasons.
A $500 pcp is just the start of the spending frenzy also. But Jesse a pcp is easier to shoot, you don't need as much skill; :eek:hold on Buster your going to get in trouble saying that:ROFLMAO:

Benjamin  New guy here! Just ordered my first "grown-up" air rifle

As a kid, I had a Crosman 761XL, and it was "da bomb." Stolen from our house in a burglary. I wish I could replace it for nostalgic purposes. I've looked, but the vast majority of vintage 761XL (with gold receiver) are in very poor condition.

Since then, I've been a big "gun" guy with a pretty decent collection of firearms. I like me some guns!

I've been wanting to add a "real grown up" air rifle to the collection for a while. And I finally placed the order yesterday (Pyramyd Air)!

I ordered a Benjamin Marauder Regulated (aka "Field & Target") in .22. Wood stock. Lothar Walther barrel.

1748545221225.png

Also ordered:

Hawke 4-16x44 Airmax 30 SF Compact Rifle scope, Ill. AMX IR, 1/10 MRAD, 30mm

Air Venturi Mini Wingman, 100 cu in PCP tank

Also an assortment of pellets to try and four extra magazines.

That ***t adds up to some serious $$$! But I can't wait to play with it!

A year ago, a dude at the range had an FX Impact M3 that attracted my attention. He let me shoot it. At 25 yards, I put 5 pellets in one hole. Not a "cloverleaf." ONE hole! Oh, baby... I gotta have one of those! Well... that rifle (alone) is $2100. Sooooooooooooo.... I'm starting with the Maruader!

FX  I hate my fx drs pro

I hate it.

Started by ordering an action and the saber tactical chassis. The SB chassis would not fit, it bound the trigger when installed. UA installed it that way, shipped it to me with the safety stuck on fire, and the trigger not even moving at all. The only compensation for that fiasco was free return shipping. Woohoo.

SO called UA and swapped it for the delta force chassis. OMG this thing is heavier than philosophy class. I could not, for my use case of shooting out back and an occasional field jaunt, lug that thing around.

So I found that FORM from the UK made some beautiful walnut stocks with cheek and LoP adjustments...ordered one of those. Finally get the trigger guard with it, and go to put it all together, and find out that it doesn't fit. Apparently the DRS PRO and the DRS CLASSIC have different trigger groups, and they are not compatible across stocks. The PRO is intended ONLY for chassis style - despite only fitting 2 of the 3 chassis available.

So back to UA, and ordered a standard trigger group, which they claim FX says you can swap, but they never have. I probably should have looked at videos of removing the trigger assembly before ordering that, because now there is no way I am excited about taking all those tiny pieces apart lol.

So, now, 6 month in on ownership, and I still have a gun I cannot shoot. I am ready to stop throwing good money after bad - I just wanted a slug ready FX gun, it just looks like this adventure is down a rabbit hole full of poo.

Anyone want a DRS pro action with no stock? Walnut FORM stock anyone? I'm sure no one does, just really frustrated and needed to vent.

N/A  Why don't PCPs all have safety burst disks?

The only PCP that I recall that has/had a safety burst disk was my Kral Mega Marine. That is a feature that I value highly, but it seems that only a few guns have what seems an obvious safety feature.

Many Kral have them, and a search shows that some: Trimex (never heard of that make), Niksan (never heard of), Reximex, Air Venturi, Pallas (never heard), Kuzey (never heard).

* the "never heard of" comment isn't a shot at these makes, simply illustrating that I haven't even known to consider these for purchase.

AirMaks Arms  Katran Compact in .22 - recommended moderator?

Seeing what the AN forum members with the Katran Compact .22 are using for moderators. Will be running 14 to 15 grain pellets in general. I did contact UA to see what they recommend as Katran sellers. Majority of the shooting takes place around 30 yards or less. What are you running for a moderator?
