I only have about 15 yards to work with, indoor range so no wind. .5” group, full mag of 16 at 910 fps with .25 HN Crow Magnums.

Velocity varied from 906-912 with one pellet at 920 because I shot before the reg caught up. All of my pesting is less than 30 yards. Should I keep working or does that look good?

I must confess I would love to fly with my gun and scope to different parts of this country and other parts of the world to shoot Field Target. But I've NEVER done it yet. Because I've heard horror stories of guns and scopes getting lost in transit...never to be seen again.

What are some of the ways you experience flyers do to mitigate this? trackers/transponder chips inside gun case? home owner insurance/rider to cover loss?

Even with insurance, and full replacement cost, we all know it can never replace the time and money spent on tunes, practice, ergonomics adjustments, etc to get the rig shooting just perfect.

So having said all that, let's hear some out of the box innovative ways to get your guns and scopes to a long distance (>500 miles, other than driving) shoot safely.

Across the country from sea to sea, hidden in the back of Grandpa's closet, there are pristine old Beeman rifles that stop being used years ago. Now and then, after a loved one passes, they see the light of day after a decade or two.
The relatives left behind discover these treasures and have no clue what they are or how to deal with them. Many end up in Gun Shops or with Pawn brokers. Sometimes one of us finds one while lurking around the store and we are like kids at Christmas when we do. Christmas came in August this week at the Kingfisher residence. Not just an R8, but all the goodies too!!! KF must have been a good boy. Lol

Geez the new pyramid air catalog in the mail is pretty skimpy? Looks like they arent selling alot of what they used to and going more into the hunting trade. Which i dont hate but liked looking at all the guns that where available out there..now theres like 10 in their catalog total

I occasionally shoot at 100 yards and none of my scopes can see the holes from 22 caliber pellets in a paper target at that distance. I have a low end Vector Sentinel 8-32 and an Athlon Talos 6-24. I should probably try the Athlon again, the last time I was doing this it was with the Vector. The Athlon is more clear than the Vector which makes up for the magnification difference at 30 yards.

I'd prefer to stay with a 6-24 since I like dialing it down to 6X for hunting. I think I will need to spend more than my normal $200 price point to get this resolution but I don't know how realistic it is to do this with a scope, even a better one. Maybe I should invest in a spotting scope.

Do you have a scope that will show you 22 holes at 100 yards? If so please comment on the make/model. If you think I should get a 60X spotting scope or something like that please also say so. Thanks.

As the title says, I have a non functional prophet 2, not the performance, it was a 2 converted with a new valve, which in turn is non functional as well.

I shoot Field Target and have been working on my weaknesses which is the same for probably 80% of us offhand and kneeling. Years back I had a 10 meter rifle I used to practice with and I had a compact 6 power Burris scope that would focus down to 6 yard. This setup was great for practicing in my garage and I am thinking about trying to duplicate that setup now. So for about the 100th time I am lamenting something I have sold and now wishing that I had hung on to it. Are there any current models that focus down this close.

Only mounted and used once. Zero issues. I was using a GoPro with Eaglevision and wanted to try an all-in-one unit. It does exactly what it’s supposed to. However I’m going back to my GoPro set up as I miss the 240fps for super slow motion.

Both kills at 30 yards with red light attached. Located rats at 6x and zoomed to 12x for the kill shots. The first smaller rat made me gag as it was slimed in manure. The second rat was satisfying for it size. Haven’t killed one that size in s long time. As I sit here waiting for the next one. The coyotes are yipping it up out in the field… I missed an easy 15 yard shot at just a head sticking out the hole. This was just a scouting trip. Now I know their here… Now driving home…

hello everyone.
im a bit new to this, but i purchased a taipan veteran long in .25 and i absolutely love it. i am considering making my own ammo with a corbin press.
time consuming and tedious as it may be,,, the quality control will be greatly improved. does anyone here do this? is there much demand for better slugs?
not looking to quit my job but,,, if i was shipping out 500 slugs a week,,? i could at least offset some of the cost. maybe get a die set in .25 and .30..

any thoughts on this would be appreciated. this set up is going to set me back around $2200. just wondering if i shouldn't just stick to buying factory.

Took delivery of the newly styled HW98 a few months back and working to get acquainted. I'm still learning to love the new look. All factory thus far minus some stock screws and polishing on the trigger guard. Have a Maccari kit for "someday". Sure loves the H&N 10.65 Baracuda's. 5 shots at 25 meters on a fairly calm eve. Pellet in the hole for perspective. Shooting 15# so a bit of finesse required, but perhaps that's just me? Definitely a keeper despite my slow warm up to the new aesthetics. As is typical , the quality is high and is what we've come to expect from a fine German rifle.

So with the cost of powder ammo getting more silly, along with even sillier rules for buying ammo in California, and then seeing someone with a Blitz, I thought oh hell yeah! We thought yeah, that sounds like fun and ammo is way cheaper for just playing around. I was shopping for a Blitz and ultimately talked myself out of it for now. Seems they can be a lil finicky and at least for now, I don't have any other PCP guns to play with so want something more reliable. So after doing what I pass off as research and my boss would call a week of sub optimal performance, this is what I ordered.

For me, JTS Airacuda MAX .22 with Hawke Airmax 4-12x40 scope.
For her, Umarex Notos with Bugbuster 3-12x32 scope.

She wanted something lightweight and compact, Notos seems to be a good answer there, hard to find anyone that doesn't like it. I saw the Airacuda MAX and just kinda fell for it. It's nice looking gun and reviews make it sound like I'll enjoy it for a long time. Made giving up on the Blitz dream a little easier for now. I've heard the BLitz sometimes go on deep sales, if I can pick one up on a bargain, I'll do it. But for now my practical side has won.

I say my practical side won after spending over $1500 to save a few cents a round on ammo to poke holes in stuff. Yeah, it's a trap, should be a fun one though

I do have a few other airguns, but nothing like this.
Crosman 760 pumper. This is the gun I learned to shoot with 45 or so years ago. Found it in my father's garage and after a little cleaning and some oil, it came back to life.
Crosman 1377 pumper pistol. Also from my father's garage. I remember when I was finally strong enough to hold it out in front of me and get a decent shot.
I got my wife a Gamo break barrel for Valentines Day 10 or so years ago. It's not bad but it's heavy and long for her and she really doesn't like cocking and feeding it one pellet at a time.

Mike Melick is awesome. I was looking for a multi pumper, but then started to look at gas guns, (co2). So I looked into ing air rifles. The Xcisco XS60 seemed like a good deal at $150 with free shipping. Talked to Mike and found out it came with a scope and rings. Amazing. The scope was a 3-9×40. I really didn't want it and told him he could keep it and I would pay the full price anyway. Then he said he had a little scope that was 1.7-5.1×something. Came with a build-in Picatinny mount. Figured I'd use a snap adapter for dovetail. Wouldn't mount back far enough, so a buddy in Ohio had me ship it to him to cut off the mount. Mike also did a power tune and set the trigger to what feels like 1.5lbs. Nice!! It makes 18.8fpe shooting 16.5gr. Hits .22cal casings at 25yds constantly. For $150. Are you kidding me? Also added a TKO moderator to tame the bark. Added a sling, cheek riser and good to go. What a great pesty/pinker. I have some nice pcps, but this little feathweigh is just plain fun. Bill and Addi

Are there really any other advantages same gun just different barrels and set at both the same fpe say 55 ftlbs only advantages I see for 25 would be a bigger hole and more shots am I missing any

Can the hammer spring on them be messed with to flatten the shot curve like can be done on the Benjamin Akela?

Well I received the Airacuda Standard .25 today, cleaned barrel aired it up and mounted my Hawke Endurance 4x16x50 scope on it.
I had the scope on my Akela and it was just too big for it but seems perfect on the Airacuda. Shot it at 10 yards and was on horizantally but was about 4 in high, adjusted it down some then went outside to 32 yds. 1st shot was about 10 inches high, adjusted it down and next shot was 2 in high next one hit dime size bull. Shot rest of mag and they pretty much tore bull up, this was with Kodiak Hunter pellets because I had maybe 40 pellets left in tin and wanted to use them up.
As soon as it cools down will take it out and try a few other pellets and do some chrony work. I adjust trigger down to 2lb 3oz from 2lb 14oz which is about perfect for hunting.
Only thing I dont care for about the gun is the very dark finish thats on the wood, way too dark.
Pics arent the greatest as its too hot to go out to just take pics.

I have an day and night time scope adapter with screen tbh it only works good at night time very clear looking to get $150 or trade for fx maverick parts or bipod, tripod any shooting rest not looking for cheap ones I have a Caldwell bipod now looking for better also in need of .30 pellets and slugs

Hi gang, I just bought this F4 177. I previously own a very old crossman pump 22 cal rifle. It's about 80 years old. Always fired with no problems. Sights never needed adjustment. But it finally started to lose power. So I purchased this F4 in it's place. I never had a 177. Or a break load. Very impressive. I am still working on sighting in the scope. Seems to be low and to the left. It might have to be shimmed. I read there is a break in period for the barrel. I can't figure that one? And why would wear on the break hinge cause the sight to go off if the scope is attached to the barrel? Your still looking down the barrel. And the scope is firmly attached. Other than that is shoots great. My arm is hurting from loading. It takes a bit of arm force to cock it.

Picked up an Element Titan 5-25X56 on the classifieds here. I didn't quite realize what I was getting with this thing. It is kind of a beast.


My rings just came in at a store in town, but I am busy all weekend so probably will pick them up Monday. I did a quick mock up, though, just to see what the Taipan Veteran Long is going to look like.


Definitely looking forward for sighting it all in.
