Sneak Peek at the DonnyFl RYU and YOKOZUNA

With the permission from Donny we would like to put a few rumors to rest. Yes DonnyFl is still making silencers for airguns and has been selling them outside the USA for a while. Due to the issues they have had, that we have all heard about and we are not going to go over again, there have been a few products that have been ready for release but have been held back.

We were able to talk with Donny and the crew last week and get our hands on two of the newest silencers they are making. With great enthusiasm and honor we would like to introduce the RYU and the YOKOZUNA
Donny_1.jpg

These are both Aluminum made user adjustable silencers that are quick disconnect. Both units use the same barrel attachment system. They have the 1/2x20 threads that will screw on to any air rifle currently. With the Tri-Lug design you are able to match up the dimple on lower unit with the set screw on the mount. A Multi wave compression spring keeps tension on the unit, then a simple twist and the unit is secured and you have a solid lock up. With the two we currently have we are able to use the same mount for either of the silnecers.

Donny_2.jpg

Donny_3.jpg

A look at the break down of the two silencers. Again the YOKOZUNA on top and the RYU on the bottom. The threads are very smooth and there is no apparent grittyness or roughness when tightening the parts. Each baffle has an o-ring on it to help seal the unit and keep things snug, while still maintaining the ability to take down easily. There will be the opportunity to add baffles to the silencers in the future, so you can customize each unit to your needs at any given time. There was talk as well about the possibility of having adapters being made for other silencers on the market right now. There was no time line mentioned about this part, but they are working on it.

We have been able to shoot both of these unit for a little bit and we are quite impressed. We have been shooting both of the silencers on the FX Panthera 700mm in 22 cal tuned to shoot the Javelin 34 grain slugs at 960 fps. Between the YOKOZUNA and the RYU to my ears there is a difference in the tone and pitch, but both are very quiet and able to tame the bark from the Panthera. The most impressive aspect to these silencers is going to be the price. Donny is looking at getting these under $200, because as Donny said "I want to be fair". And honestly a silencer of this quality for under $200 is a great deal and extremely fair.

There is plenty of things happening and getting done down at the DonnyFl shop. So don't worry about them going anywhere soon there is plenty more to come out from the guys in Florida.

We want to thank Donny for allowing us the chance to do a quick write up and a small review for you guys. You can be sure we will be carrying both of these silencers here in the shop, as well as any accessories for them as well. If there are any questions about these please ask and we will do our best to answer what we can.

Thanks guys!

Air Ordnance LLC no longer in business?

I have been trying to buy a SMG-22 but not been able to find anyone with one for sale. Air-ordnance.com no longer works, the email on their facebook is to a Tony but if you email it you get a reply that Tony no longer works at Tippmann Industrial. Tippmann Industrial manufacture sowing machines and die cut presses.

Did they have a temporary foray into airguns? Does anyone have any info on if they are still in business?

Does anyone know of any place with one for sale?
Does anyone have one they'd be willing to sell? If so PM me.

Question for FFP Scope Chairgun Users

Hey guys,

Getting my first FFP scope and want to make sure my assumption is correct about how to use Chairgun with it. So I will have this scope:
1690465576669.png

And I think I'm just going to use the "generic mil-dot" reticle in Chairgun.

They have a setting for current magnification and then calibration magnification in the top right corner.
Screenshot_20230727_084756_ChairGun.jpg

My question is: Since this is FFP scope, I would just always set those two to the same magnification, correct?

Thanks in advance!

Im very happy so far and dont think I need a heavy liner (yet). But I have orderd pin probe, hume dual tp port and hammer weight so I hope to get to 950fps+ with theese 34gr slugs :)
And I need to find a moderator, the one i had on my .177 does not fit xD

FX  Acceptable FPS spread

Hi All, I’m new here and new to the world of “real” high power air rifles. I’ve had a Benjamin Marauder that I’ve been using for a few years And just picked up an FX Impact M3 .25 cal 700mm. I had an issue that I resolved with the help of FX customer service following a master class on YouTube. I basically had to pull the entire rifle apart and put it back together. I’ve got it driving tacks again but my chrono is showing spreads averaging around 5 fps but as much as 10 fps with some shots even more. Is this typical or should I not have spreads that high? I found a couple YouTube videos on adjusting the valve rod a certain distance out from the rifle (by tightening c52 in correct position) but it was after I already put the rifle back together. I had c52 screwed in as far as it would go.

Any advice for this noob on how to tune the rifle to tighten up the spread? Harmonic tuner perhaps?

1st reg is between 145 and 148

2nd reg at 115

power wheel at 16

micro adjuster a hair under 4

valve fully open? (beyond line 4)

shooting FX 34 gr pellets and FX Atomic 26.6 gr pellets

Thank you all in advance!

and with this momentous act, we shall usher in a new era -Palpatine

im totally stoked with my new anti predator capabilities, not gonna lie.

Mod edit - video content removed. While feral cats posse an enormous threat to the environment the video does not contain any type of description supporting your action. Additionally, an airgun should never be used to intentionally wound an animal. When performing hunting and pest control an airgunner should always strive to dispatch his quarry in a clean ethical manner. This thread is being locked.

Hunting with a stock .22 Beeman R9

Hi everybody, I was wondering if any of you have hunted squirrels with a stock Beeman R9 .22 and what results you've gotten, what ranges and what types of pellets you're using? I recently bought a new R9 in 22 cal and it seems really under powered for hunting, I've shot 1/2" plywood at 25 yards using RWS Super H Points and they just stick visibly into the wood, They bounce off cherry firewood pieces at 15 yards. I shot a squirrel in the chest at 25 yards that was getting into my storage trailer using the RWS hollow points and it didn't even fall the pellet made a thud and the squirrel just ran away. It was a good solid hit the rifle shoots one hole groups with these pellets at 25 yards and I've been very impressed with the rifle's quality and accuracy with a variety of pellets but it seems to be producing velocities well below 700 fps, perhaps mid to low 600 fps range. Could there be something wrong with my rifle even though it's brand new? Can the rifle be tuned to shoot these pellets 750 fps? I posted a similar question in another thread, I hope this doesn't upset anyone
Thanks eveyone.

FX  FX Dynamic 600 tuning question

Hi Everyone,

I’m new to PCPs and just received my FX dynamic 600 in .30 Cal yesterday. I am trying to tune it to shoot 70 grain Eviscerators. I adjusted the regulator pressure, following the directions in the manual, I went from 110 to 120 to 130 but the velocity of the slug was reduced tho higher I went. I then slowly adjusted the reg pressure down to 100 and the velocity was increased. Is that normal? My assumption was that increasing the regulator pressure would increase the velocity of the slug. I kept the macro wheel at 13 and didn’t touch the micro. Micro is set at 3.

If anyone can help explain if this is correct and it is indeed normal or if I did something wrong I’d really appreciate it.

Before starting I read the manual and watched a number of tuning videos. The manual I received with the gun was for the “Panthers & Others”

Thanks in advance,

Farmer B

American Air Arms  Evol mini vs Evol 15"

I've decided I'm definitely buying a Evol rifle.. my caliber of choice is a 22cal. My main use is small game hunting.. for me it's squirrel... Squirrel season is my Christmas! My go to rifle for the past couple of years has been my RTI Prophet compact v1 ( I swap barrels on it from 177, 22,25 but the 22 barrel is my go-to when squirrel hunting) that rifle really checks all the boxes.. I like everything about it.. it has never let me down. So those of you that have experience with a Evol mini or Evol 15" in 22cal... How will the Evol compare to my RTI compact and and out of the 2 Evol choices which would be more comparable in 22cal and why... I keep leaning towards the 15" but if the mini is just as capable as my RTI compact in 22 I'll be all about it.. help me out... Your thoughts??

Probably the most unusual place for pellet targets.

We have to protect our veggie starts from slugs, Robin's and other critters so we put these screen tents over them. Yesterday we had high winds and blew the tents off so my wonderful wife pulled up some of my hard hitting targets up and secured the screen tents down. I thought it was a genius idea and worked great! But I think I'll hold off on shooting at them.
