PCP Rifle  SOLD PRod Carbine with RTI reg and bottle

Selling a PRod Woods Walker with Hill high flow valve, OldSpook moderator, RTI externally adjustable reg and 220cc carbon fiber bottle. Has 4 eight shot mags, degassing tool, original parts to include the stock shroud cap and valve head. Has a Buck Rail adjustable AR style buttstock. Currently tuned at 100 bar with the hammer spring backed all the way out for free flight hammer. I replaced the reg guts with the more current version that uses belleville washers. The old reg had the big thick spring. New reg is creeping about 10 bar. Needs some time to settle in. The old reg didn't creep but took more shots to set when adjusting. Target provided from basement range just shot at 12 yards with an Immersive 5x30 prism scope. $450 as is or $300 in stock form minus the bottle and reg. Test target is 3 mags and only used 20 bar of air. I pump it up to 200 bar in case the reg fails.

Sure makes me n-N-NERVOUS to butcher a $2000 rifle

Much more-so than butchering a $20 Crosman!

Sniper bipod.jpg

However, since my .22 Brocock Sniper XR has been relegated to single use for some time now (35 Foot Pound class in Bench-Rest Silhouette matches), I decided to convert it into a 30 foot pound pistol. Actually, a rifle/pistol convertible.

Chopping the Lothar Walther barrel to 15" took a considerably more stressful leap of faith than chopping cheap and available Crosman barrels. Recrowning the polygonally-rifled muzzle was a bit trickier, as well. However initial accuracy testing of the little carbine suggests no accuracy was lost in the barrel butchery.

Sniper Ristol.jpg

And velocity testing proves my hope of retaining at least 28 foot pounds of the 23" rifle barrel's 38.4 foot pounds was a conservative estimate. At full power (level 4 on the power knob), Mongo Mag is getting 865 FPS/30.1 foot-pounds with 18.13 JSBs. On power level 3 it gets 831 FPS/27.8 FP, level 2 = 736/21.8, and level 1 = 578/13.5. With no baffling in the shroud yet, it's LOUD. Hearing protection required! However I intend to reattach the moderator fitting to the end of the shroud, probably as the final step in the conversion.

Meanwhile I've ordered hardware to fabricate couplers to allow quick detach/reattach of the buttstock to the pistol grip, once I make those cuts. That part being unchartered territory, I'm hoping a combination of much forethought, excellent hardware, and very careful fabrication will do justice to the final rig.

The idea is to still use it in carbine form for 35 FP class Bench-Rest Silhouette competition, in pistol form for Extreme Pistol Field Target competition at power level 2 (after I reduce regulator pressure to drop power level 2 below 20 FP), and create a new Extreme Pistol Field Target class with a 30 foot pound power limit.

I'm thinking the new class will also be called Mongo Mag; and could be included in regular Extreme Pistol FT, or stretch EPFT maximum target distances to around 75-80 yards. Meanwhile I might use Mongo Mag in Extreme Rifle FT matches (for funzies). Regardless, Mongo Mag will no longer be single purpose.

Anyone else interested in 75-100 yard Extreme Pistol Field Target competitions?

4 Yards Short........Bummer!

It was a long drive from New Mexico to South Central North Dakota for the annual prairie dog hunt with my brother (The "no prairie dog left behind" program). I got there safely (pic.1) and on the first day of course, the wind was blowing like it always does in North Dakota. But on the second and third day the wind was very cooperative. I was hoping to get a couple of days of low wind in order to try to break my last year's record of a 400 yd. prairie dog kill with my .30 cal Impact.

Early in the morning on the second day, when the wind was at its lowest, I was able to get one at 392 yards (pic 2); nine yards away from getting the 401 yards I needed to break my 400 yard record. Later that same day, when the wind went down again, I was able to get one at 397 yards - 4 yards short of the 401 yds. I needed (pic 3). I didn't know until I walked out there that it was very close to the first one I shot. They were about 5 yards apart. You can see in the third picture the one on the left was the farthest and the one on the right was the earlier one that day. At the very top you can see the trucks and trailer in the background. So close. Like the saying goes: close only counts in horseshoes and dancing. It was fun either way. Shot a lot of dogs. It was a blast to be an out there again this year.

1st PCP W/no where to shoot

Hey air gunners, I’m thinking of buying a PCP to shoot with. I have a springer but it’s loud. Our city ordinance says no shooting air guns within the city limits. I can set up a place behind house that no one will see. I really have no where else close to shoot. Is it wise to spend $1700.00 and not have much of a place to shoot?

PCP Rifle  SOLD RAW TM1000 177cal

RAW TM1000 with two stocks, rifle just back from Martin where he did a complete reseal and service. He also installed a new medium valve body and set it at I believe around 18ft/lbs. Just pointing out a couple items, the bench stock does have the notch for the Vblock which the rifle does not have but will still fit the action, also the air tube does have a few nicks shown in pics. I'm asking $1850 with both stocks plus shipping.

In Too Deep....?

Just want to throw this question out there. Am I too deep into Airgunning if I keep a COMPLETE Firing Range in the back of my pickup truck? And I mean COMPLETE, as in I can just jump in the truck, go, set up and start shooting complete. Ammo, Rifles, Compresser complete.....
I may post pics here later....

Tx200 Post Rebuild Outing 2

Continuing the saga as it settles. I am still getting a flyer or 2 per 10 shots. Which is what the chronograph was suggesting last test. I think those are settling out as well, but not quite sure yet. The 10-shot groups are consistently around 1 inch with flyers. It is not uncommon nor to drop 5 shots into 1/2". One target saw 8 of 10 in about 1/2" with 2 wild ones. This is reflected in the jump in "x" scores ranging from 6 to 9 now.

Some of this is me I am sure but not all of it. As flyers are consistently low, and chronograph is showing the random low reading, I am sure that is part of it. In order shot.

N/A  Ok, so who wants a pump action bullpup?

So I picked up a beeman 1358 underlever pup off the classifieds in pretty rough shape, solely to tinker on. Laying in bed dreaming of airguns and ignoring the miss' advances, I came up with this idea in my noggin.

I jumped out of bed around midnight and dug through a box of old gun parts, looking for my maverick 88 pump handle. It damn near slid onto the air tube of the beeman. I smiled with great relish.

Took some 80 grit sand paper on a dowel rod and stroked the inside of the handle harder than I've stroked anything in years. About a half hour of that got the handle to slide nicely on the tube.

So I made some marks where I needed to cut the stock and scope/trigger mount, and went to bed. Woke up this morning and got the saw zall and welder out. Badda Bing badda bang, I cobbled this together with some American ingenuity.

What ya guys think?

Tx200 Miii Rebuild outing #1

I rebuilt my TX200 MKIII after 10000 plus rounds. New FAC factory spring, different factory compression tube, new seals. I tested it, then added a 3mm spacer in front of the Top Hat.

The new spring was about 3/4" longer than the old one. The piston seal fit tighter in the compression tube as well. With my finger over the loading port I could press the piston down without stopping (slowly) in the old tube but the compressed air stopped movement with tube replacement.

I picked up over 100 fps and 5 fpe. It was running under 10 fpe for ES and about 2.6 fps for SD. So not much changed there. I am using this for shooting at 50-yards out to 100-yards so fps makes a difference.

First run out at 50-yards today saw it consistently under 1" for 5 shot groups and doing essentially quarter size performance. I was not "on" today and there was a slight breeze. I expect things to settle in pretty well with it shortly.

50-yards performance day 1.

Spurious Speed Deviation - FX Impact M3

Anyone had issues with there Impact M3 randomly dropping speed, not a small amount, the fun is tuned to 960fps - 292 m/s for shooting slugs but every now and then the gun will drop to around 640fps - 195 m/s are around that mark, then back to 960fps - 292m/s for 5-10-15 shots. I've removed the 1st stage regulator and monitored regulator pressure, this seems stable and I've changed to the new brass piston also trying to remedy this...

Someone suggested it might be a Hammer issue, the internals have not been touched and they are as supplied by factory..

Any suggestions ?

Home made moderator

Hello, I just wanted to show the suppressor I made with a can. Or should I say I made a “can” out of a can. Inside the actual can I used a 3d printer to make baffles that would fit inside the can snugly. Then, after filling the can with about 7 of them I created a part that would connect to the end of the barrel of my qb78. Then I glued and taped it together for the time being. I also have yet to come up with a solution for the end cap.

This is a work and progress and my first attempt at anything like this but after testing it I can say it works. For the cosmetics, durability, and physics of it, I know it has a long way to go. Tinkercad is my best friend.

Sometimes its better to take the back way to the range

On my way to the Conservation Club to do some target practice with my Benjamin Discovery and Marauder .22, I went the back way.
I came upon a doe (and twins) crossing the road, a couple helping a turtle to not become a casualty. Lastly there was a large busted blonde wearing a green Izzo shirt on a jog. (Tom Izzo is the Michigan State Mens Basketball coach) Izzone
Life is good when you take the back way once in a while !!!

I spent 4 hours shooting at 10, 25 and 50 yards off my Allen stand, off-hand and a perlite filled bag.
Refilled the Discovery twice with my GX CS2 and the SynRod once.
I shot some PolyMag Shorts and JTS DeadCenter with the Disco from 10 and 25 yards.
The SynRod was used to shoot some JTS DeadCenters and AA Diabolo Fields from 25 yards.
Then spent some time shooting JSB Diabolo Jumbo Heavies taking it down to 1000 psi.
My goal was to follow each shot until impact and not jerking my head up to see the impact.
I can't say as I am ready to try Bench Rest or N50 but I am progressing...

PCP Rifle  SOLD Panthera hunter 22 cal (low price)

Ok I decided I am going to sell my panthera as it's a little to big for my kind of huntin. Absolutely like new.made the titanium moderator adapter....took it out prairie dog shooting and it shootings pellets and slugs equally well but the mags really don't like howler slugs which is the only slug I use and a few pellets hang up in mags. Heavy long slugs work flawless.

Bought the k&l stock adapter and fixed the thread in it while waiting for folding stock parts to come from FX....which is all included with sale. No scope but rings can go with. 4 mags

1600.00 obo you pay shipping

May trade for something awesome like small hunter type gun(krait 22)
