  • Original box/shipping carton.

Note: Scope, rings and bipod not included but could be purchased separately.

I purchased this Taipan Veteran Long Grey Laminate .25 new, in 2020 from Charlie Frear at Georgia Airguns. Charlie tuned, tested and also installed a picatinny rail for bipod. Once received, I installed a Huma Regulator and set it at 130 bar. In addition, I also replaced the original Taipan Dialer with a DonnyFL Speed Dialer. The Taipan works perfectly and the trigger is outstanding!

This gun is extremely accurate and can easily get many 1/2" groups at 50 yards with both the JSB 25.39 and JSB 33.95. It is the most accurate PCP I've owned and the one I compared all my other's to.

The Huma Regulator is set at 130 bar and DonnyFL Speed Dialer currently on max at about 880 fps with JSB 34's for about 58 ft/lbs. I can easily turn it down with the Speed Dialer when shooting the JSB 25.39's. I've added some tape with numbers to repeat Speed Dialer settings (see pic). With the JSB 34's I can get and average of 880 fps, 14 ES, and 3.1 SD for 30 shots. The JSB 25's do better with an SD under 3.0!

It should be noted that it has a very small approximate 1" scratch on the shroud just below the front of the scope (see pics). It may have been there when I purchased it, or after adding the scope. I did not notice it initially.

Chilly , chill Paradigm and Peri morning 🌄

Cooked up a nice hardy breakfast per usual, made my double cup off coffee, poured it into my Yeti and took Peri for a jaunt through the woods.(I feel that if I don't include peri in my posts now I may disappoint a handful btw)

When I got back I said Peri what do you think about some Paradigm time? Of course she said let's rock and roll.

Against my better judgement I decided to make an adjustment to the paradigm , I turned the reg up some the night before, well, what a great idea.

I brought the speed from 855 to 875 , it's still consistent , the rifle sounds better though, it's also more consistently accurate.

I do feel these groups could have been .5 moa or better had it not been 25 degrees and I am still fighting the valdada bipod, it's rigidity and stability is unmatched except for the plastic feet on a plastic table, the foot design on the bipod needs work. It's like having two credit cards together with water between them. I am going to try some non skid tape that is used on utility truck decking to see if it makes a difference.

Anyways, enjoy the pics, get out and shoot, chilly weather doesn't stop us here.

FX  NRL22 with an air rifle

Good morning everyone;

Next year I am planning of joining the NRL22 group at my club, but instead of shooting a .22LR rifle, I will shoot a .22 air rifle either my FX Dreamline (500mm) or my FX Crown (600). I checked out some of their previous stages and their longest distance is around 100 yard with a 2 ½ inch target. I am looking for your advice on:

  • Pellet or slug?
  • Weight?
  • Velocity?
Thank you. Much appreciate your help.

Expensive oring

So went to replace the gauge that stopped working on my Yong heng. Put new gauge on, put test plug in on the second filter and fired it up. Got up to about 3000 and then bang and it looses pressure. Started checking connections and couldn’t find a leak. Finally figured out the burst disk blew and replaced the disk. Fired compressor back up and no pressure. So I fooled around with it for a couple of nights and couldn’t figure out where the leak was. Finally gave up and just ordered a new one since this one is over 5 years old. Got the new compressor yesterday filled with oil, ran it for 10 minutes under no pressure. Then put test plug in and fire it up… NO PRESSURE! What the……… Started checking all connections again. Don t see anything. Happen to take the test plug out and……. Torn oring comes out with the test plug.. Replace oring and guess what, it builds pressure. So just to check reconnect old compressor and it builds pressure. Boy did I feel like a fool. That oring turned out to be expensive. Top it all off I had put the batteries from the temp gauge on old compressor in new compressor. Picked up new batteries today. Went to put new batteries in temp gauge on new compressor. When popping out the gauge doesn’t it all fall apart and fall inside the new compressor. Took the cover off and got all the pieces out but now its not working so I have to order another temp gauge. I had a few days of bad luck with these things. Maybe I was just rushing.. Trying to get things done since I’m going to be out of commission for a month or so due to a medical procedure I’m having next week.

FX  Impact Stripped Top Rail Threads

I have two M3's and both of them have stripped one M3 thread in different locations along the top rail. The very first time I took apart my M3 and removed the top rail I immediately noticed how shallow those M3 top rail screws are. I make it a point to use my torque driver and only use 10 in lbs when threading those in. The top rail is 8mm thick with a 3mm counter sink. So the M3 x 8mm screws are only threading into the module under the rail with 3mm of M3 thread. That's not a lot considering the alignment of the entire gun is dependent on that top rail keeping all of those modules tight and straight. FX really could have gone another 4mm and used M3 x 12mm instead so that we can get some torque on those screws.

Anybody else run into this?

Recording Equip  SOLD TRIGGERCAM WITH (2) unused 128gb micro sd cards - virtually new!

Purchased this approximately two weeks ago, arrived this past week. Used it for two to three hours, long enough to determine:
  1. It works exactly as advertised
  2. Is easy to mount and change from rifle to rifle
  3. The app works perfectly as long as you isolate the TRIGGERCAM WIFI from the home WIFI
  4. I don’t have the expertise, time, skill, or patience to edit the videos anywhere to close to what is already available on line
  5. All of have to shoot are reactive targets, no pests or birds - shoot one round of reactive targets and “you have seen it all”
  6. I would rather spend what little time I have shooting and tuning rifles

In short, I don’t see myself being disciplined enough to use this fabulous system even close to its potential- might as well belong to someone that will take advantage of it.

Selling complete with the extra new micro SS cards I purchased to go with it and never used for $500 total shipped within the continental US.

replace FX M3 Impact moderator with one that is same diameter as barrel

replace FX M3 Impact moderator with one that is same diameter as barrel

I currently have a donny FL installed but would like to replace it with some sort of adaptor or moderator that is the same diameter as the stock 600mm barrel.
Does one exist? basically something to cover the threads/moderator delete

N/A  Diving into PCP...here's my plan...thoughts?

For the past month I've been researching getting into PCP after my kids, nieces, and nephews had a fun day of shooting out at the farm I grew up on. They really enjoyed shooting my dad's break barrel pellet gun with a scope on it...as well as some powder burners. But my dog didn't enjoy the powder burners as much...nor did my ears.

Anyway - they had so much fun that I decided to pull some money out of a different hobby (pinball) and put it into PCP. The primary use will be plinking, paper, and I'd really like to try to get into some long(ish) range stuff at some point.

I know there are infinite ways of getting started, but here is what I'm currently thinking.

Air
Everything I've been reading seems to say the first decision should probably be "how do you plan to get air?" So this is what I'm thinking

Airmarksman Tank 74cuft 4500PSI $599
Scandinavian Arms Tank Bag $120
Local Scuba Shop Fills (confirmed) $15

Airgun(s)
Was originally thinking about getting a .22 and .177, but I think it might just be simpler to keep track of one caliber. Initially everything on YouTube pointed me to the FX Impact M3, but the more I thought about it, the harder it was to justify that much on a single gun...then I got to thinking maybe I could get 2 mid-priced guns. That would allow for more shooting time for my kids, nieces, and nephews (along with me, the uncles & papa :D)

I fell in love with the looks of the Sahara version of the Brocock Sniper XR and think it will be a great all-arounder. I also thought it would be cool to have the We The Plinkers Brocock Atomic XR package, but I kind of wanted to try something different. And I keep coming back to the Airmaks Katran CB. So...

Brocock Sniper XR Sahara .22 $1195
Airmaks Katran CB .22 $1269

Scope(s)
Thinking one of these four for the Sniper XR
Arken SH-4 6-24x50 FFP $254
Arken EPL-4 6-24x50 FFP $329
Athlon Optics Argos BTR GEN2 6-24×50 APLR2 FFP $369 AA
Element Helix 6-24×50 FFP $479 UA
Katran scope - I'd like to find something more budget friendly maybe $100(ish)?

Moderator(s)
Probably a DonnyFL...I'm a sucker for their marketing, what can I say?

Anyway - would love to hear other thoughts/advice if you have any before I pull the trigger on this load of PCP goodness to get started on my journey! I realize that's $3500+ it adds up quick, but I'm hoping it would be something fun to do as a family getting the kids away from devices...and hoping to get some good stuff to make it a good experience for everyone. And maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to convince my brother-in-laws that they should get some fun gear, too :D

Shooting squirrels while waiting on deer

Got another opportunity to chase the big buck today and decided to take my bulldog and my .30 Maverick for squirrel. Still learning the notos I bought a couple weeks back but usually sit in one place while deer hunting so shots on squirrels well past 50 yards aren’t uncommon and I think the Maverick is much better suited for that task. It’s the sniper version so it gets a ton of shots while putting out well over 100 fpe so the occasional coyote or groundhog are up the creek if noticed. I started the day strong smacking 3 in the first hour. Activity slowed down and only had 4 by lunch. Knew they’d start to get back out mid afternoon so I patiently waited and got lucky with an opportunity to take the last 2 off the same tree. Shot the first one and the second one appeared almost instantly to see why its buddy was flopping around on the ground. He found out why. Would be the perfect day if the 12 point buck would step out about 50 yards in front of me so it’s a no thinking just hold and squeeze type shot with my bulldog. Fingers crossed

Remembering the old days?

Ya had a air gun ya cocked it and shoot" no safety no pumping no looking to see if it fell off the reg? Hay if ya hit olive on the can twice in a roll and it went all the way through you were good to go"AND" now looked what happened "Sometimes ya need to get back to the basic's to see where ya at?

Not my best but…

Still sub moa. Average across 6 bulls is .046” center to center. Weihrauch HW44 177cal shooting H&N Baracuda FT 9.57 grain pellets. 5 shots per bull at 7 yards. MOA at 7 yards is .07”. I also documented the total spread of each group in millimeters. My reference shot for size of hole is 3.2mm or .14”. Center to center computed by subtracting .14” from overall group size.

I can’t figure this out.

Afternoon everyone,

I can’t figure this out. I just got back from another rifle match at the CMP in Anniston AL. I practiced for this last week. At that time, shooting from a standing position, I was able to put 60 rounds into about an inch, which was good enough for me. I was shooting the same Beeman AR 2078A I’ve been using for a couple of years at 15 meters. I didn’t see any elevation drops or any other problems after 60 shots. I didn’t empty the air chamber until this morning and put two new 12mg co2 cartridges in before I left. Two hours later the match started. Using the same weight Gamo red tip pellets it was shooting horribly. Group size about four inches. After 50 shots I was getting a 3-4 inch drop so I just quit shooting. Last week I was shooting outdoors in 70 degree weather with no wind. Today I was shooting indoors at about 72 but no wind. The rifle never got cooler than 68 degrees at all. I don’t suspect a leak because after 10 days there was still gas in the chamber and now, an hour after returning home, there is still pressure in the chamber. I don’t get it. Could the pressure vary that much in the 12mg cartridges? Going from 60 rounds and no drop to 50 rounds and a 3-4 inch or more drop seems extreme. What am I missing?

Intro from MS Coast

Greetings fellow Airgunners,

I grew up on the high plains of Eastern Colorado and have lived in many places since. Shot my first rabbit from my dad's lap with a Marlin .22 lever. Put away many, many prairie dogs with that rifle growing up. Retired from the Army in 2015 after 22 yrs. I've had a cheap Hatsan .25 springer since 2017 to thin out the squirrel population around the yard. It is on the heavy side and I've struggled to keep it sighted in. Started looking at PCP's in 2023 and it has been quite a slippery slope since!

-Aircuda Max .25
-Uragan 2 .25
-AF Talon SS .177
-Taipan Vet 2 Tac .25
-Taipan Vet Standard .25
-Vulcan 3 .30
-AirMaks Caiman X .22 inbound

I've taken lots more tree rats with the Vets and the Aircuda in the back yard. Also learning to play with slugs and pellets on paper. I'm limited to about 37yds in the yard and have to be cognizant of neighbors soooo......the Vulcan needs more space to wring out. I hope to get it to a proper range soon for that.

I've been directed to AGN a LOT by Google while researching this hobby and have found the amount of useful info and experience here staggering! Thank you!

Greg

PCP Rifle  SOLD Edgun Leshiy Classic (Gen 1) .22

For sale is an Edgun Leshiy in .22. I purchased this a few years ago from a forum member. I used it primarily for pesting and it has served me very well. It’s simple, compact and holds air forever. I initially got it because I did not want to invest in a compressor and could pump it up by hand, which was not that difficult. I now have a compressor and want to try other PCP’s with larger air volume. This airgun is very accurate, and has been trouble free. Nothing is wrong with it and it works great. Along with the gun comes the original case that came with it along with spare seals. $800 shipped, USA only. Paypal F&F, Venmo.
