Chronographs  SOLD Fx pocket chrono

Used works fine. Missing back battery cover. I never used the cover and no clue where I put it. Batteries stay in fine and it just easier in my opinion to swap battery and leave them out when not in use. $125 zelle or PayPal friends family or you add the fees on top. Newbie question.

Last week I ordered a Hatsan 1000x in .25 caliber from Amazon. I have probably shot 30 pellets through it in total this week. Today my son and I went out and started shooting at some targets. I could not believe how excited he was and how much fun he was having as he spends a lot of time on video games. After maybe 20 shots he pulled the trigger and It sounded like it exploded. We were both in shock. It smoked a little and he started complaining about the ringing in his ear and I was still so surprised but relieved that he was okay. He did not have eye protection and neither of us was wearing ear protection. I never assumed that a pellet gun would ever fail like that. Obviously, my fault. Curious about this failure in the picture and do most people wear eye & ear protection when shooting. Really a shame as we were having fun but glad he is okay. Thanks

My Yong Heng healed itself!

THANK YOU all who responded after I posted about my compressor's odd behavior ("My YongHeng problem...."). Ran a full diagnostic leak check again today for spits & giggles. The ONLY thing I did differently was to check the one way foster on my fill adapter. It was fine, functioning & clean as a whistle. This time when I ran the compressor I kept the tank valve closed until pressure in my lines hit 4,000psi, THEN I opened the tank valve. Thought I'd see the needles just sit at 3500 as they'd been doing but LO & BEHOLD, GLORY HALLELUJAH the needles rose as my tank actually FILLED!!!
Thanks guys for trying to help me solve this very strange conundrum. That's one of the reasons I come here & stay here. STILL don't know what was going on but everything works (for now) & I'll probably never have an answer but then, what's life without a little mystery?

N/A  Effect of sorting with TX200

I have been using AA Field Heavy 10.3 grain in 4.52mm for about 9 months now. They have generally functioned well for me. But, they seem to do better sorted by weight. I typically buy 4 tins of 500 at a time. I sort to 1/10th of a grain.

However, the last batch or two I received have been less consistent it seems. While weights have been pretty typical, the variation seems to be with head size. They seem more variable and fit looser. I suspected some of this is contributing to performance inconsistency.

Today I set up at my usual 50-yards using a 1 inch bull with 1/2 inch "X" ring for testing. All pellets were from AA Field Heavy 10.3 grain in 4.52mm lots. I weight sort to 1/10th grain. I used a batch sorted to 10.3 grain and another sorted to 10.5 grain. The 10.3 was from a recent lot, the 10.5 from an older lot.

I shot six 5-shot groups each with the 10.3 batch and then the 10.5 batch. The 10.3 were much looser fitting and had variation in fit. The 10.5 were relatively tight fitting and appeared more consistent.

The batch the 10.3 were, according to my pellet sizer, not 4.52mm for the most part but closer to 4.50 or 4.51 in general. I did not check the older 10.5 batch as they were tight fitting already.

The results suggest that weight sorting to 1/10th grain makes a difference with my rig. This was noted by seeing the 10.3 batch consistently shoot higher than the 10.5 batch.

The results also suggested there was greater variation in group size with the 10.3 batch than the 10.5 batch. There were several extreme flyers with the 10.3 batch. The 10.5 batch typically saw smaller groups with less variation for the 10.5 batch.

I am not sure if there has been some changes with production or if it is just the luck of the draw.

FX  Changing M3 caliber and barrel length experiment

I currently have an M3 in .22 cal with a 600 mm barrel. I'm shooting 25 grain JSB's at 935 fps, 2nd reg at 134, Macro 16, micro 4.
Today I'm changing it out to a .25 cal 700 mm barrel and will be shooting the 34 grain JSB's.

After the barrel change I'm going to shoot it without changing anything else to see how the added barrel length while adding pellet weight will turn out.
I'm sure I could lower the reg a bit and maintain the speed I want but I might as well just start right where it's at.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Cricket Tactical 2 25cal 60 $1100

My Cricket is barely used 3-4 tins of 34gr and 3 sleeves of hybrids. It’s a very accurate rifle and setup to shoot JSB varieties of the 34 gr, I used the FX brand. It has 4 magazines and two fill probes. It still has the original box and seal kit. It is the natural wood color. Aside from the wear from attaching a bipod, the rifle is like new. Comes in original box. I bought it new from Georgia Airguns. The rifle came with the pistol grip that would slightly move side to side. I talked to Charlie Frear and he suggest bedding the grip with epoxy. I followed all his directions and its a solid rifle now.

$1100 shipped CONUS
This is the lowest I’ll list it, it’s a great deal.

I can send more photos to anyone interested

It’s just too much rifle for my backyard use. Newborn son so my yard is as far as I can go to shoot.

N/A  First Springer Advice

I need advice on which springer to buy. I want to spend around $500 or a bit less.

It will be for 10yd (mostly, some shooting out to 25 yds) bullseye target shooting from offhand, sitting and prone. It will not be shot from a bench. Balance is important.

I like blued steel and wood, so I want a wood sporter style stock, no plastic stocks, thumbholes or other such non-traditional features. I like nice wood but am also happy with less expensive wood like beechwood.

It will be used only for targets, not pest control or hunting so velocity is not an issue.

It will be shot only with iron sights so:
1) it needs decent sights, and a rail for installing an aftermarket peep sight if I do not like the stock sights, so it will also need a front sight that can be used with a peep, such as a Williams peep.
(2) it needs a stock that works well for iron shooting and not one designed for scope use,
(3) it needs a stock suitable for position shooting, rather than a bench, but I do not want a target type stock that has adjustments.

A good trigger is very important.

Of course, accuracy (at least at short range) is paramount.

I have identified 3 candidates:
Beeman R9,
Weilhrauch (and I understand that the HW95 is the same rifle as the Beeman R9, so one of the other Weilhrauchs if suitable, and
Cometa Fenix 400.

1. Which of these would you have an opinion on?

2. Any other candidates out there I have not identified?

Thanks for any help you can give.

DonnyFL customer support

Probably anyone who has dealt with customer support at DonnyFL already knows this, but my recent personal experience deserves a shout out.

I needed a shroud extender for my FX Dreamline Classic. I could find nothing in the DonnyFL catalog that matched. I went through the email process to contact them and listed the dimensions I needed. I received a reply the next day, which was a Thursday, stating that the machinist would contact me the next week. That happened the following Tuesday morning with an email requesting a picture and a contact phone number.

Within minutes of sending the requested info, I got a phone call from the machinist. He said he had a catalog item he could turn down to my specs and since it was a catalog item, would not charge the custom machine rate. He said he would invoice me and, as soon as I paid, he would do the work and send them out. The transaction was done and I had the parts in hand Friday afternoon. What more could you ask?
