HW/Weihrauch  HW50 bad barrel?

I bought a HW50, from AOA, about 18 months ago. Shot it some but could never get it to shoot well. My HW97 and Tony Leach TX200 kitted gun got most of the attention as they both are great shooters. I decided to put a Vortek kit in the HW50. Gun was much smoother shooting but accuracy just not there. Shoots about 3 inch groups at 30 yards and 2 inches at 15 yards. Tried about 15 different pellets. All shoot about the same. 30 shot strings over chronograph are within 15 fps. Decided maybe l just can't shoot a break barrel. Got my brother in law to shoot it for a month. He handed it back and said "there is something wrong with that gun, it shoots like crap" . So, after testing, polishing, trying every pellet l can get my hands on, l am declaring l have the only bad .177 HW50 barrel in existence 🤪. Anyone have .177 or 22 barrel they would like to sell. Thanks,Don

PCP Rifle  NLA Leshiy 2 .22 250 $1600

Hey AGNna’s,

I have a 22 caliber Leshiy to for sale with this special grip, suppressor has a silent thunder ordinance Insert that has been modified, and is actually quieter than any L2 that I have ever heard. The thing makes almost no noise. Comes with three magazines. Current tune has it shooting 20 grain slugs at 800 ft./s. Price for this piece is $1600 shipped CONUS PayPal, friends, and family. Forgot to mention, also has a 1/2 UNF adapter on it.

Any questions feel free to reach out.

Finally completed - 50 yard accuracy tests/comparisons - all of my air rifles

It has taken me literally months to complete, as work and home projects abound and waiting for windows of no to little wind conditions, but this morning I finally finished the 50 yard accuracy tests/exercises shooting two 10 shot comparative groups with each rifle at a laser measured 50 yards. All groups were shot from bags/bipods with sandbags supporting the butt. I worked hard to make the environment for each group nearly identical.

For those that would like to see specific groups and rifle combinations, I have photos of the rifle and the test groups for each of the results indicated below and would be glad to post specific ones upon request. CAUTION - the groups are not totally indicative of performance. For example, the BRK Ghost test groups were largely one big hole, but then one pellet slipped outside of one group a half inch or more.

This was a fun exercise. All of the rifles were shot with the best work up I have accomplished in terms of tune and ammo choices to date. But as some of the groups indicate, there is still room for improvement.

Enjoy!

FX  Crowns barrel is moving forward

Hey Guys and Gals,
My .25 crown is sliding forward an inch in 3 shots rasing h*ll with my shooting.
I have 6 orings degressed on the block side of the shroud nut. I've cleaned the interior of the block where the barrel assembly sides into, and still shoot my barrel towards the muzzle.
Any ideas on how to rectify it?
Thanks.

Brocock/BRK  BRK Ghost and Daystate Revere maintenance and care what are you using?

Hey everyone,

My ghost and revere arrives on monday. It will be my first pcp. I went to the BRK/daystates websites and was reading through the manuals, especially the care and maintenance sections. Sadly they were very vague with them. I want to take good care of my rifles. They didnt list suggested lubricants cleaners etc.

What is everyone using for maintenance and upkeep on the BRK Ghost and Daystate huntsman revere? When first getting it, is there anything I should do beyond an inspection and a good cleaning of the barrel? I did see a post showing how to polish a barrel. I likely will do this down the road if needed but I want to see how each are shooting first to get a baseline.

Thanks for the advice.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Fx Impact m3 Sniper M3 with Arken scope and Extra’s$$$

This m3 has been my go to rifle for pesting since I purchased it a year ago. I’m looking to go.35 caliber for hunting purposes later this year so the .22 has to go! This m3 has a Arken sh4 ffp scope paired with it. Recently detuned to shoot lights out inside of 50yards with 18g pellets for up close work ℹ side barns but that permission fell through so it has been sitting around doing nothing for almost a year. It has a superior heavy slug liner currently mounted but will come with the original pellet liner also. Holds air indefinitely. Honestly I’m just checking to see if interests in this particular rifle are up to my selling standards lol. I’m just not going to let it sit I can afford to keep it otherwise. Pictures at the request. This rifle has very little use and I don’t like leaving great kit laying around unused. (Update) this rifle has many extra’s! It has a barrel tensioning system installed. It also has a shroud over tensioning system to keep it nice and quiet no matter how fast fps you choose to run it. It has a saber tactical rail bipod is not included. Ergo zero grip. Front reg delete/ yes you can have the front reg with the rifle. One stock mag in .22. The barrel is going to look shorter than 700mm because it has a 700cc bottle with a 300bar valve installed. Side lever is a $130 ball bearing aircraft aluminum utterly amazing cocking experience lol what else can I say. Nsa slug probe and carrier. Not looking for trades and if you try to lowball I’ll just ignore!!! 1850$ shipped conus only.

PCP Rifle  NLA Edgun leshiy 2 hornet 250mm

Hey y’all,

I have a practically new hornet I’m willing to part with for $1800. The gun is a 25 caliber, 250 mm alpha precision barrel. Took a couple of generic pictures off the website. As you can see these things go for $2575 new, with tax pushes it to about 2750. Almost $1000 savings here with this deal. Any questions call text, or message me here. Thank you.

Umarex  Notos the end: accuracy.

Not definitive as it is not off of a bench, but the top of a toolbox. My shop range is just 27 yards with a 9 power scope. Later I'll do 50yd with much better optics. Once again all shots at the same reg pressure of 148 bar. Same hammer spring setting. The velocities changed based on projectile weight alone. No changes to scope settings, one magazine, 7 shots each. This was to observe velocities and weed out what clearly would not work.

Some plinking foolishness this evening…

Did a little plinking after the work week this evening conditions were calm. Did my usual black walnut busting from 40 to 64 yards. Then took three consecutive shots and got three consecutive hits at 102 yards on the pictured cans. The can without the frontal impact, was nicked over the top. The little white, “chipmunk size” bottle, hit at least four times, in a row. All sending CPHPs out of my Pathfinder XR. Last night and this morning I was sending JSB Exact Jumbo 18.13s, easy, casual dime size groups at 40 yards. Bipod front no rear bag, I hold the bipod with my off hand.

2023 AAFTA RULE CHANGES

2023 AAFTA RULE CHANGES

• Timers are now required at all Grand Prix events and Nationals.
• Variable scopes are now allowed for pistol Field Target, but must be set at 12X or lower.
• Skipping or shooting ahead on lanes is prohibited- lanes must be shot in order.

Skipping or shooting ahead on lanes is prohibited- lanes must be shot in order. == does this mean that shooters line up to wait (say #15 ) to start shooting that will make matches a lot longer . Maybe i am reading this wrong ?

The 2023 AAFTA rules and other documents can be found at AAFTA.org.

Air Arms  open sighted pro sport

My pro sport with Remington 700 front sight and homemade peep sight, a great rifle to carry around and I can keep all shots around an inch at 50 yards. I have my TX200 with a scope don't need two rifles with a scope. The Pro Sport has an extra .22 barrel that I can change in about half an hour. I love both rifles and will go to my grandchildren when I'm done. Steve!

  • Poll
FX  Should I stay or should I go..... (FX IMPACT)

What should I do?

  • Stay with my 2 FX Impact M3s (.30 cal & .22)

  • Sell one and get a dynamic

  • Sell one and get a panthera

Results are only viewable after voting.

Good day,

I have two FX Impacts m3 (1) in .22 cal and my second one is (2) .30 cal. I am debating on selling one and acquiring a fx panthera or a dynamic, but I think it's better that i stay with my two 700mm impact m3s. I've seen so many pantheras for sale already which is highly concerning. Whether it be buyers remorse or not what they expected. I don't think a 700mm impact is worse than a panthera. THOUGHTS & OPINIONS?

Setting up a small target range

I've got several scopes in which I want to test the depth of field for ranging with parallax. Oddly enough the 3 range finding devices I have all give me different results. So, I decided to go about it the old fashioned way!

FX  URGENT HELP(Fx magazine issue) FIXED

Fixed: So I’m an idiot, a big one. The other day I mounted an additional mount to my scope to accommodate my night vision. This was preventing the mag from seating all the way by just a 1/16”. Really dumb mistake but lesson learned. Sorry for a wasted post but I learned a lot lol! Thanks to all who responded!

FX Crown. 18 round mag feed issue.
All of a sudden I went to load a mag into my gun and tried to push probe forward it wouldn’t go. Checked all the obvious stuff and can’t find an issue.

Single loaded a pellet no problem, the issue is definitely with the mags (I have 2) and neither will work. Took one apart and lost the ball bearings but even with the other one I cannot get a pellet or slug to feed from the mag.

Update: I noticed the probe is hitting the one part of the mag (upper left) of where it feeds the pellet. Took the probe off and it’s perfect. Tried to push the probe manually into the mag while in the gun and it still hits. Tried rotating it and everything it just will not feed and hits upper left.

I’m leaving tomorrow morning for a big pesting job, please help !!

Another great score off AoA's Pre-owned pages!

This is becoming habit, largely thanks to occasional AoA gift certificates I've snagged at TEXtreme Field Target competitions.

And although this baby doesn't fit into my too-usual (nowadays) airgun priority of competition(s), in fact ANY kind of airgun competition, it fulfills a role lately on the back burner most of the time; NOSTALGIA gratification.:D

It having been over a quarter-century since I've owned or shot a Beeman P-1 "Magnum" air pistol, and despite those memories being tainted by a (resulting) admitted prejudice against springers, especially springer pistols, with a $150 A0A gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket I made the "mistake" of detouring from the Ammo pages of AoA's website to check out their Pre-owned offerings. "Oops!" ;)

Given my inexplicable fetish for two-tone pistols now almost rivaling my fetish for pretty walnut stocks and grips, you get three guesses what happened when I saw this at what I considered a reasonable price even without the included shoulder stock, and even before applying my $150 GC-

1695404383308.png

No, the Leupold Gilmore red-dot scope didn't come with it. But I couldn't resist robbing it from another gun to compliment the two-toneness of the HW45 Silver Star. IN YOUR FACE!

Per my usual approach when buying pre-owned anything, I interrogated the AoA phone associate relentlessly. Then after having extracted the information I needed (think oral surgery), I dove headlong. As has been the case in other recent AoA Pre-owned gun purchases, their condition description proved happily conservative.

Based on the amount of heavy dieseling and complete lack of any evidence to the contrary, my Silver Star was virtually unfired before it came to me. I do wonder whether the sharp cracks on firing were from excess lube detonation, supersonic pellet velocities, or (probably) BOTH! Depths of dents in a 55 gallon steel drum from unbelievably loud shot reports were deep; from normal reports only a pellet mark. Also suggesting the gun virtually unfired previously, things began settling down nicely within 30-50 shots.

The laminated wood and stippled SS grip is MUCH more comfortable and functional than slab-side, P-1/1911 grips. Otherwise the Silver Star is a dolled-up HW 45. Who says "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig". Oh yeah, THAT guy! Well, he's wrong (again).

Initial (casual) accuracy testing suggests my SS more accurate than my previous P-1s. Be that actually more accurate, or just more accurate in my (quarter-century older) hands doesn't matter; it's more gratifying to hit reactive targets (tin cans) to greater distances than with previous P-1s. And considerably less frustrating than MISSING due to the inherently violent firing behavior of the only spring-piston air pistol ever marketed as "MAGNUM".

Should things continue going well in our relationship I might do as I often do with airguns of all types; trade a small amount of power for larger amounts of shootability/accuracy. (y) Because I'm quite smitten with this "pig"! 🐷

So much so I've broken my vow, "I'll own another springer pistol WHEN PIGS CAN FLY!"
