N/A  Found an interesting Arca to Picatinny QD plate

I have never seen one quite like this. I can see it being useful / versatile in more than one way.

1696201351661.png

  • I like the single cross bolt and that it is fairly short from front to back at 50mm. Some of my guns only have very short Pic rails and the Picatinny to Arca adapter I have been using like the in the last photo below won't fit them without chopping / modification of the adapter.

  • If you have a bunch of guns with Picatinny rails on the bottom, put this on your tripod head and you won't need an Arca to Picatinny adapter for multiple guns. It is threaded for a standard 3/8" Tripod head. Simply swap out your Arca or whatever clamp you have on the head and voila - direct QD connection for anything with a Picatinny rail on it. Or just insert it in your existing Arca clamp when needed.

  • I like the QD feature, making it an easy on off guns with Pic rails for when you want to mount it on a tripod with an Arca clamp on the head. No tools needed. Would be nice to just keep in the gun case.

I would like to find one shipped from the USA for a bit less money, but the price isn't too bad for what looks like a fairly good build quality. I know OBO tripods and heads have very good reputations.

Daystate  Difference among performers and pleasant.

There are in the market some air rifles that are well made, accurate and powerful.

But there's a family of rifles that have those qualities and goes beyond. Rifles that from the moment you hold them you feel you have something "special" in your hands. And when you shoot you feel the pleasure of shooting.

This family has various members ( Red Wolf, Wolverine, Revere, .....) all sharing the "Daystate" last name.

Daystate are "other" level of refinement.

  • Question
Uragan2 & RAW HM1000X, Help needed !

Hello Folks,

I’ve purchased both an Uragan 2 700mm and a RAW HM1000X chassis, both in.25 cal

The Uragan2 is just a little gem all around but, unlike his predecessor which I have in.30 cal and has a pinpoint accuracy, this newer one is just horrible in accuracy: up to 2,5 inch groups at 50m !
Since in my country shipping arms accros the boarder is related with huge administrative issues, I’d like to find a solution by myself first ! Therefore my first question in order to exclude at least the ammo issue: which kind of food does your own very same gun like most ? I must add that I inspected the barrel visually from outside and didn’t see some kind of dents in the baffles of the shroud, although I didn’t strip off the whole thing for closer inspection since, in order to be legal in my country, both the shroud as the added moderator had to be glued with 2k heavy duty glue to the barrel. I was able to unscrew the sumo (not without leaving some ugly dents from the tools) but, if possible otherwise, wouldn’t do the same to the shroud, convinced that it wouldn’t be possible without leaving some horrible scratches !

My second problem is the RAW, which started leaking through the small hole just behind the fill connecto/manifold element, right out of the box ! Since I didn’t get any answer and/or help either from Pyramydair nor [email protected], I just hope one of you guys may give me some advice…

I’ve stripped it down but didn’t see any problem, both of the O-rings on the regulator rod seem to be ok. I’ve tighten a bit the regulator washers and the leaking almost stopped, but this cannot be the solution since the pressure setting is now much to high and there is still some small leaking left…

Any help would have greatly appreciated and I do send you my very best regards over the pond

Heartily cheers from Switzerland,

Florian

Air Arms  Revist pellet performance in my TX200 MK III

After a year of shooting Air Arms Field Heavy (10.3 grain) and Air Arms Field (8.4 grain) pellets I decided to revisit pellet performance from other makers. Note every rifle handles shooting pellets differently so your results may differ.

I am shooting a TX200 MIII in .177 with a Vortex Diamondback 6-24x50mm scope. I am shooting from a bench with from an Allen rest with Protektor bags. There was little to no wind, no mirage and about 78 degrees Fahrenheit.

Here 2 types of H&N pellets were tested. The H&N FT 9.57 grain (4.50mm) and H&N Baracuda Match 10.65 (4.51mm). Their performance was compared to the AA 10.3 (4.52mm) pellets that I regularly use. In this instance the H&N 9.57 provided solid accuracy compared to AA 10.3 but shot slower and with more trajectory. Future testing with H&N 9.57 is suggested.
