Theoben  Theoben Eliminator with Laminate Stock

Many years ago I came across an article which was comparing the Eliminator and the Crusader. In that article the Eliminator was sporting a beautiful laminate stock. From that moment, the chase was on!!!
I put out advertisements in all the forums wanting to buy one in this configuration. No luck or even a single response. I searched everywhere....even tried England....zilch!
Then a couple of months ago while passively mentioning this plight to my fellow Theoben enthusiast Russ, I finally hit pay dirt. Russ knew of a fellow who had recently acquired this oh so rare commodity.
I immediately went to work and was able to secure not one but two of these beauties. I had my .22 Eliminator mounted in one and am happy to show it to all who can appreciate this fine rifle.
This is the culmination of over a decade worth of searching the world for this stock. I only wish that the pictures were better. But anyway....enjoy!!!

Benjamin  My Benjamin Prod by Airgun Revisions

A little backstory here, I just got into airgunning 2-2.5 years ago, started with an Umarex Hammer and a Hatsan Flashpup QE with amazon no name 50 dollar scopes. I had no idea what I was doing (any time I had been shooting previously with PB I only shot with Iron sights or Acog) , I didn't understand ballistics, or have real expectations of what these rifles could do... nor what they won't do.

SO I cycled my way through almost every manufacturer and ammo type... I have learned so much from the community to the point now where I am shooting competitions and printing sub moa groups at 100 yards all day long, every time I go out.

So I started cycling through airguns I owned , why I got rid of them, and did I have fun with them?

My first Airgun Revisions Prod built by Rich made its way to a friend of mine and I missed it so I contacted him 3-4 weeks ago and asked him to build me another, well he sent me these photos this weekend and it should be in my hands this week.

I can't wait to get out and plink with this as I know the work Rich does is quality and I know how fun my previous one was over a year and a half ago.

The work done was , stock obviously, his tuning, and a moderator adapter. I plan on running my Vector Optics 4-16 on it as it is light and clear as well as one of DonnyFL new suppressors the Ryu.

Anyways, feast your eyes on this beauty.

FedEx just teased me!

I purchased a rather expensive accessory from Utah Airguns. It was shipped via FedEx and required an adult signature. I received a notification that it was out for delivery today. Our dog goes berserk whenever he hears a delivery truck, so when he began to bark I pulled up our security cameras and waited for the FedEx driver to come to our door.

After 5 minutes of rummaging around in his truck, he backed out of the driveway and left without delivering anything!

Hope they locate the package and make another delivery attempt

Talk to me about ranging in dark conditions

Hey all,
I would really prefer some actual first hand experience here, not some you heard this or that.
Apparently I'm having issues ranging in the darker conditions. I get a nice and clear target but its at a closer distance than when its lighter out.
Is this a common thing? Is this a lower quality of glass thing?
I am using an Athlon Argos Gen2 6-24.
I feel like I need to do my own test here of a known distance in dark conditions and light conditions and see what I get. I wasn't aware of any issues like this but I was also fighting accuracy issues all year. Now those are gone, I'm seeing I'm having some ranging issues. At the sight in range I felt like all of my ranges checked out and were spot on.
So, does anyone have concrete first hand experience with this and what was your findings and solution? Was there a certain type of scope, or feature of a scope that helped this?
Im not able to just start buying $500-1500 scopes to test. Its hard enough to get another scope, especially this time of year. Before I make that jump if I have to, I would love some real world input.
Appreciate your time.

Help needed on information on this rifle.

Hello, i joined to try to help my Marine Corps buddy whose father recently passed leaving him with a couple of air rifles. He is now looking to try to sell them and turned to me to help him with it as I’m pretty familiar with modern firearms. However, I am definitely out of my element when it comes to air rifles. From what I can gather, he has, what I believe to be a custom Gunwerks .50 cal air rifle. Any help with cost/ where we can find more information or best place to try to find a buyer would be greatly appreciated. I attached some photos of it. I’m waiting for him to find the order form it came with.

Thanks in advance.

The Airgun Experience!

Today’s podcast or video cast if you watch on YouTube is discussing the American Airgunner Challenge. Love the show and these podcasts. It’s like listening to a good audio book and an easy way to pass 30 min on the ride to work or while working at your desk.

Other  A pricey target

My wife gave me a cookie tray to shoot. So I painted a few dots and quickly filled with holes. Got the idea to cut in half.
IMG_6941.jpeg
I opened it up with killer my HW90 .25 cal. Accurate and destructive. Once I opened the Center I brought out the R9 .20. Hammering the folded edges. I fired a whole tin of JSB 13.73’s. Brought in a Diana 48 .22 for about 50 rounds. Managed to open left side.
IMG_6962.jpeg
This took over the course of two days. Finally finished off with R9.

Cost 1 1/2 tins of lead = $45.00. Now garbage but a serious challenge. Crow

FX  FX Panthera first shot slow solved…

I have been struggling with Panthera shooting slow on first shot( 20-40 fps slower), and only after sitting 5 minutes or so. Also shooting slow when cold. Someone suggested putting big power wheel on 4 and small adjustment on 4, then adjusting regulator to your desired fps or 10 over at most! It will sound like crap and use lots of air but all is good. Then turn small hammer spring adjustment wheel to where your gun sounds back to normal. You will see the small wheel going from 4 to 3 ( guestimate) and ft per second staying about the same, you want to keep going until ft/second barely lower ( within your desired ft/sec ). Accuracy will return and after 2 days sitting my gun shot a duplicate number over chrono and is much more consistent. I am shooting 500mm in .177 around 900 ft/sec with JSB 10.34 but should work the same with any pellet or caliber. To much reg pressure and not enough hammer spring results in poor results on first few shots, but also to much hammer will result in low shot count and bad accuracy. Find the balance! Happy tuning and I hope it works for you.

Physics of hitting a tin can target filled with water...

Why does a tin can (not necessarily aluminum, but heavier metal) filled with water, and is open on top, fly straight up (3 inches to 3 feet) when struck by a fairly powerful pellet??
Sure, the water inevitably shoots a spout upwards...but why does the can jump "up"? I can't quite figure out the physics involved ;-)

N/A  How accurate can I get and how do I get there?

I'm a fairly new airgunner. I've had a Marauder .22 for a bit over a year now. At first I was fairly happy plinking within 25 yards; then I wanted more accuracy/challenge. And then more, etc. I added a regulator, Tim Hill internal parts, upgraded scope. There are still some things I think that I could do to it (polish barrel? Barrel bands? ) but at this point I don't know what the "bang for buck" would be.

Now, I have a target out to 60 yards. I could put targets out to 100yd in my back yard. The best accuracy that I have gotten is maybe 2" groups at 60 yards. I'm not a world-class marksman, but I've done some shooting with powder burners in the past so I don't think I'm terrible either. At that range I can watch the pellets going elsewhere than I have shot them, so I don't think it's me. I can understand groups opening up somewhat in a stiff wind, but this is even in fairly calm conditions. While I am still improving and tinkering, at this point it seems like I am more accurate than the gun is.

So I guess that I have a few questions,

1) What can of accuracy should I reasonably expect out of my air rifle at 60-100 yards? Is MOA within reason, or is that too much to ask for out of most air rifles? My accuracy seems poor.

2) If more accuracy is reasonably achievable, which is what I anticipate, how should I go about improving accuracy? Should I,
A) Continue to modify/work on Marauder (any recs? I will probably do this anyways, just to tinker, but should I hang my hat on this?), or
B) Upgrade rifle

3) If I choose to upgrade rifle, should I
A) Change caliber (would 25 or 30 be more inherently accurate at those ranges?)
B) Look into shooting slugs?
C) Any recommendations on rifle? I've been reading/thinking about the FX Wildcat vs RTI prophet vs BRK Ghost vs Avenge-X. Not sure which of those would help me achieve my goals (lots of bench rest but also woods walking for squirrels). I'm willing to "buy once cry once."

Thanks in advance for your wisdom
