Hatsan  Hatsan MOD 65 Gotta Go

OK, so I bought this gun a few weeks ago and I just can not get it to group. Sometimes 2 or 3 pellets will hit really close then the next several pellets are up to several inches off. I've tried holding it loose, tight, resting on my fore arm and nothing seems to help. I've tried the included scope, a Center Point and Hawke. I may take the scope off and try the iron sights and see how that does. I can't return so I'm stuck with it, plus it gets hard to cock after a while, I can shoot the HW50s and R0 for a hour and not get fatigued. May just take it to a pawn shop and see what they'll give me for it and order another R9 in .22. May give it to my son or nephew.
I took my .177 Beeman R9 out there and stacked a few pellets almost in the same hole.

New CO2 Air Rifle from Crosman

Howdy all! Anyone have any personal experience yet with the new version of the venerable Crosman 1077 CO2 airgun (1077 Tactical) now being advertised on the Crosman website? I'm interested in general discussion about/impressions of/concerns about the new air rifle, whether based only on what's available online, or even better, personal experience (having actually seen the beast), or best of all, having been able to pick one up, examine it, check it out (weight, handling, shooting, etc.); that sort of thing. If interested, your contribution would be very much appreciated.

For example: I'd be INCREDIBLY impressed if this 'new and improved,' tactical version (tactical? ewwwwww, ahhhhhh, ohhhh, etc. <grin>) outperformed one, most, all or none of the earlier versions, or actually comes anywhere near the 780fps advertised, since that's about the same oomph as what I'm (supposed to be) getting out of my Umarex 850 M2 (purportedly suitable for small game hunting). Based solely on the penetration into my homemade pellet traps (repeatedly stuffed with about twenty-five 14"x19" cardboard sheets assembled out of what I salvage from the boxes in which online stuff ordered by my wife and I arrives), my 1077W doesn't come anywhere even close to matching the sheet penetration I get out of my 850M2. Actually, I doubt my 850M2 is shooting even lead-free alloy H&N Baracuda Green pellets (my indoor ammo) at almost 800fps. Are the changes from the earlier 1077 models solely cosmetic, or IS there some notable boost to performance (or handling, or anything else) with the 1077 Tactical?

I hope to hear from y'all, so many thanks!

Beeman  My new ( somewhat) R7

I bought this Air Venturi stamped Beeman R7 last year and was planning on posting some
pics then but had lots going on in my life. Paid $303 to my door for it. Just got the BKL one
piece droop mount that did require modification as the turret block on my Hawke 4-32 scope was
hitting the top of the mount. Which is common with this BKL mount. Next I'd like a rear sight
cover to cover the screw holes and the unsightly pin. Probably look for a muzzle brake
as well. Nice shooter and the R7's are very pleasant to shoot. Strong shooter as well.

Air Venturi  Avenge X first impressions (It's awesome)

Hello, I'm a long time reader, but new member. I figured I'd make my first post about my newest air rifle. Apologies if I am starting a redundant thread or breaking etiquette with doing this.

My Avenge X .22 with the traditional wood stock was delivered Friday afternoon. I spent Friday night getting it setup with a UTG recon Bipod, DonnyFL Tanto and Arken SH-4 4-16x50 scope. I noticed that the cheek rest is placed far too low for my eyes, so I made an improvised cheek riser. This stock really could have benefited from a adjustable cheek rest like the bullpup and tactical versions come with.

Filled it to 4200psi, really appreciated the integrated foster fitting instead of a fill probe. My first PCP with this feature, and it's quite convenient.

Spent yesterday zeroing the scope and trying a bunch of different ammo. So far it loves the JSB 25.39gr and 18.13gr. This gun is AWESOME, extremely accurate out of the box. Definitely shipped with a milder tune, was getting about 785fps with the 25.39 JSB over the chrony. Backed out the hammer spring adjustment fully, then turned it clockwise a full turn and was getting about 810fps. Haven't fiddled with the regulator adjustment yet, but will eventually. Would like to be able to get about 860fps with the 25.39 on with the transfer port set to hi, then flip it over to low power for lighter ammo.

The magazines work well. You get a regular 10 round mag, and a high capacity 16 round mag. They're fairly easy to fill, rotate the cover clockwise, drop the first pellet in head first covering the hole on the back, this locks the rotary system in place, then drop the rest in head first while rotating the cover. It's a bit of a tight fit putting the magazines into the rifle for the first few times, but it eventually got easier. They snap in with a satisfying click letting you know it's correctly in place.

The side lever action is smooth as silk, and everything cycles beautifully. This is my second lever action, with the first being the Notos that had issues with the factory mags jamming and failing to cycle right out of the box (which was rectified by upgrading to the absolutely wonderful Maple custom products magazines). Compared to my first experience with the Notos, the Avenge X side lever feels flawless.

This air rifle is very quiet, and with the Tanto installed it's the quietest air rifle I've ever heard. Very back yard friendly. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's whisper quiet.

Still have to try some different slugs, I did shoot a few of the JSB knockout slugs, didn't seem to like those at all but none of my guns have. I have some 22 grain FX Hybrid slugs I want to try next, but unfortunately it's raining today.

Overall I am thoroughly impressed with this rifle, it's got the looks, power, and accuracy I was hoping for, in fact it's even better than I was expecting!

Shooting in my back yard range (42 yds)

It's raining today so figured I'd take a few photos of my air guns. Here's the beautiful new Avenge X with my improvised cheek riser.

RTI  RTI Prophet vs Impact M3 for mild slug hunting gun

1698563565749.jpeg

I owed an Impact M3 and was pretty impressed with its capability to shoot slug accurately. But when it comes to holding zero day in day out, my M3 does do a good job and it's a bumper trying to rezero my gun any shooting session. Just few clicks like 5 to 7 ckicks but I don't like the idea of zeroing every time I go hunting.

Has anyone with a slug shooting RTI prophet (either 1 or 2) can confirm if your gun could hold zero time after time? I'm shooting 27gr to 30gr .22 at 950fps or 33-35gr .25 @950fps that's all I need.

Thanks a bunch!

Traditional Rifle  SOLD Gorgeous HW97K, 20 cal. Like new.

Excellent Condition. Extremely accurate. Comes with 3 tins of pellets. Selling part of my collection to get a good quality field target rifle for my grandson to use. Would consider trade for good quality field target rifle. Maybe air Arms, Daystate, BSA R10, Dreamlime etc. can chip in a little extra. Scope not included. Asking 590.00 shipped conus, or 550.00 face to face in Oklahoma City. Feel free to text Shawn at 405-246-5841.

Rabbit Hole

Okay let's see what started you down this rabbit hole. Here's mine, first air rifle after my Daisy 880. Started as a used P34, I found a wood stock for it, repurposed the 4-32 scope that came on it when i bought it to my 880 and put a $24 dollar Tasco 3-12x42 on it with a RWS one piece mount. I was going to sell it but after today I am not so sure. I have acquired 3 pistols and 11 other rifles since this adventure started about 7 years ago. First gun I tore down, cleaned up, deburred, installed a plastic piston liner and relubed, all OEM spring, seal and guide. Haven't shot it since I put the Tasco scope on it over 2 years ago. After turning a few knobs here's what I ended up with, 5 shots @25 yards. As good as I can do with any of my tuned Weihrauchs.

FX  Can Any Impact M3 *Compact* Owners Help On a Quick Question?

My M3 Compact came with a heavy valve return spring and FX replaced it with the correct standard spring. When I received my Compact my chronograph literally broke the very same day so I couldn't get any FPS numbers on the stock setup. I am now back to the reg 1 @ 150, reg 2 @ 85, Macro 16, Micro 2, valve adjuster at 4 lines default setup. It it shooting my JSB 18.1 @ 800 FPS.

1)Is that way off?
2) What caliber and stock setting FPS's were you getting from your new Compacts?

I'm guessing 800 on the .22 is probably about right because FX stock setup on the Compacts is pretty conservative? I don't know as my 2nd Impact was a .25 700mm rig. Can anybody else confirm this?
