GX CS4 dry air modification

Although the few silica beads I put inside a small filter is still blue after I filled 2 guns, one 210cc from 120 to 200 the other a 320cc from 150 to 300. The purge valve didn't let out even one drop of water. Since I'm a man of science and believe in conversation of mass. All the water molecules in the air I pumped into the guns have to be accounted for. Because I didn't see any water from the purge and the silica beads are still orange, I only can conclude that the water must be inside the guns! The only rational solution if to install a pre or post water filter or both. I chose a pre-filter because I mostly fill guns and don't want to waste time filling a large post filter. My setup is the front end of what I was using to source the air into my motorized hand pump.

Oil less air compressor -> regulator 80 PSI -> oil dirt filter -> large silica bead filter (> 1QT) -> regulator 1/2 PSI -> input port of the CS4.

Pressurizing the air before the very large silica filter helps trap the water faster and more completely, then regulating it to only 1/2 will not significantly stress the CS4. If may swap out my 0-15 PSI gauge to a gauge that reads vacuum to low pressure like +-5 psi if I can find one cheap.

PCP Pistol  SOLD Benjamin P-rod Pistol Carbine .22

This P-rod shoots lights out. Also includes (4) magazines.

It is tuned down to 612 fps avg for 32 shots per fill with JSB 15.89’s for barn pesting. Has the Hill Matched Pistol Parts Kit installed ($135 value), stock hammer with the Hill Peek delrin striker. Shot string below is from 3000psi to 2000psi and then starts dropping off due to the light tune and heavier Hill valve spring, which also prevents hammer bounce for better air efficiency. Still has three turns left on the hammer spring for more power. Consistently getting four mags per fill with a 19fps spread with this tune. Kills squirrels, no problem with good shot placement, which is very easy to do with this little tack driver. I also have the Crosman skeleton stock.

New Prices:
Gun $369
(3) extra magazines, $45 (4) total
Hill Matched Pistol Parts Kit $135
Peek striker $23
UTG pic/sling stud rail. $15
Bushnell Trophy Red Dot $100
DonnyFL M14 X 1.25 adapter custom threaded by my gunsmith ($75 labor) to accommodate the affixed AGT small moderator. ($100) .290 exit bore diameter.
*Original shroud end cap and short 1/2X20 adapter will be included.
*Over $900 invested, plus shipping!

The barrel band has been tapped with 10/32 machine threads and a machine threaded sling stud installed through the existing fore-end mounting hole and into the barrel band for more support. No extra holes drilled in the fore end. The front pic adapter is supported by the sling stud, not the plastic for-end.

Holds air indefinitely and is a tack driver with the JSB 15.89 pellets. Target pictures below are two, full magazine (8 shot) groups with current tune described above and in the chrony pic below. Very consistent accuracy and fps for a non-regulated pistol. Groups were shot at 50yds using 4-16x44 glass. Shoots CPD 14.3’s excellent also.

$450 for gun with affixed moderator and red dot. Due to new classifieds rules, moderator must be purchased as part of this package, as I would not be able to sell it separately. This thing is literally mouse fart quiet with the mod.

$400 minus the red dot/rings.

*Original box & papers from Crosman.*
*Crosman test card dated 2/14/23.
*Original valve cap, valve spring, hammer spring, steel striker and gauge block are included if you wanted to put it back to stock, although I don’t know why anyone would.
*Hill light hammer ($48.98) also included should you in the future choose a regulated application.
*Short 1/2x20 adapter and factory shroud end cap are also included.

I’m taking a huge hit on this so prices are firm and include free shipping to the lower 48.

If you choose to take the red dot, it will be sighted in at 20yds, and ready to shoot out of the box. I’ll even throw in what I have left of the JSB 15.89’s (2/3 500ct tin)

***See Bushnell trophy red dot sight specs in the pictures below. Will not sell the red dot sight before the gun sells.***

If you want it tuned higher, I can do that before I ship it. But realize that the shot count will be less. I will provide a full-fill shot string & target groups, using the red dot at 20yds to the buyer if he/she chooses a higher powered tune.

PP FF, Cashier’s check from bank or
USPS MO

Thanks for looking and bearing with my rambling! I feel the buyer is entitled to as much information as to make an informed purchase.

Check my feedback. Buy with confidence!

Cometa 100 a great rifle!

I spent over two hours shooting my new Cometa 100 .177 rifle today, What a bargain rifle the 100 is. The sights and trigger are super on such a inexpensive rifle. The only one similar that barley beats it is the HW30S rifles. If you are looking for a low cost quality starter rifle then this is an ideal choice. It was 0nly 50 out today and with a portable propane heater I sure enjoyed the afternoon becoming friends with my Cometa 100. Charles

What Scope are you running?

I am potentially about to get some new glass for 1 of my rifles, or new rifle, and there are a few scopes out there that I have my eye on. Not going to bring names to light just yet, as I am trying to determine cost over return. To name a few of the ones I already have are as follows and are decent entry to mid level optics:

1. Arken
2. Athlon
2. Blackhound
4. Monstrum
5. Vortex

I'm really thinking about getting into Teir 1 territory but so far am unsure.

Just wanted to know what everyone else might be running on their PCP Rifles so as to help me to guage my next purchase. Thanx for the read guys and I look forward to seeing what everyone else is running too.

AirMaks Arms  Please - no hating on

My Airmaks Krait L 😀 but I have encountered a problem.
This has happened twice now and the first time it fixed itself.
Trying to tune for redesigns and have been slowly turning up my Huma reg. Started at 110 bar and stopped at 130 the other day, reason I stopped was the reg jumped to 145 bar. Hum why I wondered. It was late so I put everything away and tried again today, now bottle pressure is at 260 bar and today reg says 133! Ok so I started tuning again. Made a few more changes and got to 860 fps and was satisfied there then the same thing! Fps fell to 700 and reg jumped to 155 from 145.
Now this has happened twice, the reg was fine and I've only got about 500 rounds on it.
Anyone experience something like this?

Thanks Greg

Crosman  Gun of the year award

If you’ve seen some of my posts you will quickly realize I have spared no expense when it comes to airguns - I’m passionate about the sport or hobby. To date I have owned just about all of the highest quality highest performing PCP’s. Granted it took me a while to understand what I was really looking for and expecting from an airgun. I especially enjoy having some of AGN's amazing and gifted tuners put their magic twists on already great airguns.... wow!

I have owned the very best FX has including Crowns, Mavericks, Dreamlines and M3 impacts, the very best RAW has two HMX1000's and two TM 1000's, the very best DayState has including the electronic Alphawolf and Redwolf and their top tier Wolverine Sapphire and their Tsar, the very best Brococks like the Ghost and Commander XR, the very best American Arms has the EVOL, the very best Steyr has including a ProX10, the very best Anschutz has an 8002 in a precision stock, the very best Weihrauch has HW100 and HW110, 3 different USFT MAC1, a Thomas bench rest gun, two different Edguns, and a few types of Airforce rigs, one FWB, a couple of BSA’s, a few Air Arms, AGT Uragan, a Taipan Vet, a Skout Epoch and I could go on but you get the point.

So after 2.5 years into this pneumatic adventure or obsession, I also discovered the world of Field Target and the specialized equipment that goes with it. The rabbit hole is deep my friends.

What I’m going to declare here may surprise some people, maybe not, but the Crossman HFT Challenger is a rock solid performer, especially as built by @Airgun-Revisions!

I might add that this particular PCP's price point comes in - even customized for my particular requests @ < $1298.00 or 1/3 rd to even 1/5th of many specialized Field Target platforms. Very accurate, very adjustable, very reliable, and it loves the Benjamin 10.5’s and even scoped with a big ol Sightron FT scope she still only tips the scales <10 lbs! Before you think I’ve lost my mind, which I have, there’s one niggle that keeps my 67 year old fingers from taking this gun everywhere, meaning to every FT match i will ever go to…… it lacks a flip out single shot loader, thus I drop as many pellets as I load.

Yet, in spite of this one draw back, IMO, this modest Crossman HFT Challenger gets my nod as the number ONE, PCP of the year. The amount of gun / performance you get at this price point is exceptional!

Well done Rich Dudek @Airgun-Revisions !

My current Challenger setup includes a Sightron S-Tac 4-20x50 FFP / IR scope with the MH4 reticle and a scope werks 6” eccentric mag parallax wheel held up by eaglevisions sidemount inf adj rings.

Max PSI on Compressor

So I have the compressor in the pic. I have been filling SCBA tanks with it and then filling my guns from the tanks. I have a Huben GK1 though so I decided to see if it would push that to 5k PSI, and it didnt slow down or anything and filled it right up to the end of the green on the gauge. I figured I would ask if any of you think this will kill the compressor. The GK1 has such a small tank it does not run long at the higher PSI. The SCBA tanks I have though I only fill to 4500PSI. They are large 45 minute tanks so I give the compressor breaks. I obviously like being able to fill the GK1 to the amount it is supposed to be filled, so I am curious if you think this will kill it super fast. Thanks

RAW Rapid  RAW probe

While the RAW probe is really floppy inside the bolt and although does self align it can cause accuracy issues as occasionally it doesn’t engage the pellet correctly wile in the mag, this cause to pellet being damaged as it enters the barrel. Another issue is the probe sometimes drags the pellet backwards causing it to tumble in the mag, this mainly happens when the rifle is pointed upwards and occasionally does it if the bolt is pulled back slowly.

I made what I consider to be a much better solution, theprobe fits more precisely inside the bolt so doesn’t flop about but still has enough wiggle room to allow it to self centre

Top is the original, bottom is better👍

3d printing parts?

hey fellas. are any of you guys 3d printing parts? if so what software are you using to 3d model? I have a decent amount of knowledge on 3d design and printing (not to brag but I was team co-captain of a worldwide robotics competition team 🤓) I recently moved over to Mac and now I have no idea of what software is any good. im looking to start 3d printing parts for my airforce talonP but I can't tackle that project until I clear this obstacle. oh and if any moderators are seeing this, please don't delete this, I know its not exactly airgun related but it kinda is :)

HW/Weihrauch  Fresh tune for a new R7

Stumbled into a good deal on a basically NIB R7 last week that I couldn't pass up. I decided to give it some aftermarket love before passing it on to someone who needs one. It got new a new ARH spring, a Vortek piston seal, custom acetal guides, and a acetal sleeve (~0.04" wall thickness). Here are some pics:

Machined parts prior to final fitment:

And the most important part. Results! And even better, these are the first 12 shots after zeroing my UTG 3-9x40. This was shot indoors at 10m from a bag. This thing is going to rock and roll when its all settled in. I forgot my chrony at work so I'll have to do that portion tomorrow. Oops.

FX  Panthera\King Max Bottle Pressure?

I feel dumb for asking, however, dealing with 4500 PSI scares the crap out of me when dealing with new equipment. I know my Impacts have a "250 bar max" label on the side of the trigger block. I didn't worry too much about it because it's being regulated down to 150 bar right behind the bottle. I'm brand new to the Panthera\King platform and the reg is set further back toward the trigger. There's a little more going on there between the bottle and the reg.

So my question is: can I slap on my 300 bar Air Marksman bottle without blowing up the gun and/or my hands? I figured I'd ask just to be sure 🤔

Gun/caliber

Hello,
I am going to start ahooting some benchrest here after surgery around June after recovery. Never have done it with anything. I have a 30cal cricket 2 that I use for eft tuned by Derrick with 56 grain Zans or a RTI prophet 1 with the 22lr barrel I could use but what about a dedicated bench gun? Here they shoot the N50 and I honestly doubt I'll ever go to the Ebr,Rmac stuff just to far and have to burn to much vacation. Now I have the wide bipod everyone uses and a cheap rear bag. Is that a common setup for N50? I know I don't want a one piece rest. What about the cheaper Caldwell front joystick rest? Anyway my real question is what gun and I'm guess probably 22 or 25. I actually want a stock on the gun that I actually put my cheek on. I was thinking a raw. I'm lefty also. Like I said this will be for N50 pellet and here at my range. Non tethered also. I'm willing to save up for a quality rifle and scope.

Thanks
Jon

I already ready got the flag setup. Thanks to Derrick showing me.

I have been doing some research And I will have three months off from work to really research it.
