PCP Rifle  NLA WTS .25 Kalibr Cricket

Hi All,

This is a classic .25 Kalibr Cricket, this gun was built/tuned by Rocker1 (some of you may know him from another forum but he makes custom moderators and is a damn good tuner).

Gun has a HUMA regulator, comes with 2 magazines and fill probe.

Currently tuned for the 33.95 at 900 and is absolutely laser accurate! Slug wise the MK2 Knockouts as well as ZAN 30 grain shoot phenomenal well….

Gun has custom baffles in the shroud and the pellet hitting the target is louder than the shot!

It is not a safe queen by any means (has some dings here and there and the shroud end cap was notched when he did the regulator install).

I would say 680 shipped is fair.

RTI  Huma reg help

Updated since original question…
Because I started getting help before I could start I over, I’ll recreate this mostly…

I’m trying to install the Huma reg on my Prophet 1, and running into some issues. It appears I’m through the first couple issues, and now dealing with something...

The bottle gauge on the Huma shoots straight up to whatever the fill pressure is in the external fill tank when you try to fill the gun and stays there when connected. As soon as I disconnect, the bottle gauge drops to around 100bar and stays there.

While connected, for over 5 minutes, both external fill bottle reg and gun reg stay on 230/220. Neither drops at all… until I disconnect and Huma bottle reg drops to 100 bar.

Update: after removing the parts and putting them back together less tight, I think that worked… everything is getting air and staying stable. I’ll check again later today when I have more air.

Final update: I think all is good after taking apart the new parts and putting them back together and keeping the parts loose.

Please help this newbie

Hello all, as I'm sure you read all the time I am new to air rifles. I am looking for a rifle between 200-300, scope is irrelevant as I have a scope rated for an air gun already. I am looking for the purpose of back yard pest removal. Preferably something in 22-25 Cal that can live in my truck. After doing my basic research I learned two things. One everyone who has taken then time to sign up on a forum hates the box store piston driven guns which was my primary plan. And two I found the Benjamin 392 which seemed near perfect until I realized it's been discontinued for a bit. Please keep in mind being quiet is very important for my needs. I even plan to paint parts of it orange before I get calls from neighbors about being out with a gun. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I can get a 2 inch group at 50 yards that would be more then enough for my needs. If I am totally off base with my hopes and dreams then that is useful information too. Thanks for all the help.

Armadillo Down

I’ve been gunning for these buggers for a while. I just took my thermal scope out of its mount to use it for another scope and didn’t mount the thermal scope in another mount. So I went out with a thermal hand scanner, a hog light, and later I came back and grabbed my ScanPro headlamp.

I was scanning my yard for dillos and got wheezed at by a deer that startled me. I made my own animal noise back and then clicked on my rifle mounted torch. She looked back for a few seconds and walked off. I took the time to record some thermal images of her. I began to scan my yard again. That’s when I spotted a small body through some brush and grass at the corner of my yard and an adjacent property. I had to have been at least 50 yards away. Then I made my way to the fence line and saw something crossing the adjacent property through the tall grass. I thought it might be a cat with its long tail stretched straight out. I decided to investigate, so I maneuvered around to get a gander from a different angle. I followed as it crossed two different properties. Then I saw it doing something in the grass. I really thought it was a cat that had caught something and was playing with it in the grass. Then it lifted its head as it was looking in my direction that’s when I realized it was an armadillo. It was easily identified by its head profile and ears. It moved through the grass and hit a clearing it as it walked. I leaned against a post, clicked on my rifle mounted torch’s pressure switch, and squeezed the trigger. Damn it!!! My safety was on. So I clicked it off, thermal scanner dangling from my wrist and I’m trying not to hit it against anything and scare off my quarry. I pressed the trigger and popped off a shot broadside before it walked back into the tall grass. 💥Pop💥 the shot was unusually loud or maybe it was just that quiet tonight. The dillo jumped and scurried off into the treeline. Once it got in there, it sort of hung out between some tree trunks. I watched it for a little while through my thermal scanner as it moved rather slowly before settling. I figured it’d be dead by the morning. I went back home, conversed a while, and said I wanted to go back out and check the yard before I go to bed.

When I went back out I grabbed my ScanPro headlamp and a hat. I scanned my yard and still saw nothing. Then I made my way back down the road scanning various properties. There are only a couple that I don’t hunt. I returned to the property where I’d shot the dillo and saw another one through my thermal scanner. This one was beneath the trailer and I kept half circling the trailer trying to catch it clear of the tires. Once it looked clear I clicked on my headlamp to be sure. Once there were no obstructions, I turned on the rifle mounted torch.l, then my IR (illuminated reticle. I took a shot. “Shhhmack!!!” That’s a hit! It turned around beneath the trailer and whimpered (like a faint squeak) I tried to line up another shot and let it have another. It began to skeedadle and made its way beneath the trailer towards the opposite side.

I tracked it by circling to the rear so I had a view of the other side. I grabbed my my scanner again and saw it head into a bush, then beneath an old broken ramp. I circled around the ramp and put both lights on it, then I adjusted my parallax to 10 yards, backed up until it was in focus in my scope, held over 6 MOA and let him have another one. He piled up deep under the ramp to where I could not see it.
IMG_6928.jpeg

I watched for movement for a while and saw none. I went up the road to check another property. I caught some movement from a property I don’t bother with, but I watched. I thought it might be a cat, but I tracked it through my thermal scanner as it crossed the road. I practiced a little stalking to get close in order to ID it and turns out it was a possum. I slung my rifle back over my shoulder and just observed the possum for a while. The worst I saw it do was use the bathroom in the grass and check a bird feeder for seed.

After leaving the possum, I went back to the other property. Again I saw a dillo hanging around the underside of the trailer. I followed it half-circling the trailer again before deciding to get in front of it with the wind blowing right to left so that it couldn’t smell me. I kneeled down and tried to line my rifle up with the thermal scanner. This was a bit tricky. I switched on the torch and checked my scanner again. It was hard to see with a little vegetation around it in the dirt. Once I located it in my scope, I thumped him broadside. I heard it wince and shot again. It fell over on its side and scooted up a little. I shot again and I could hear it whining so I shot until it was quiet (about another two shots). Keep in mind that my range is all by estimate for the most part. My parallax wheel is set at 25 yards.

If you look to the right of the red bowl you’ll see part of the body with a red streak of blood running down the amor. That’s a dead dillo.
IMG_6926.jpeg

I have to fish it out tomorrow. I expect to find another dead one in the treeline. I hope all of these weren’t the same dillo because I’m tired of them digging in my yard.

Huben K1 shooting FX 18.1 grain diabolo pellets with an Amazonia “El Cheapo” hog torch. I think I snagged the pressure switch from another torch. Burris BTH50 handheld thermal scanner. ScanPro headlamp. I forget the model number.

Only target shooting, do you re-zero for shooting each distance?

For instance I shoot only 25/50/100 yd targets? If I’m zeroed at 25 I end up with a mil-dot at 50 which I feel is problematic to my accuracy. 😕 does it hurt a scope to be adjusting all the time? Last question if anyone is reading this far... Do you find you have to adjust the zero every time you re-torque certain screws on the gun? In this case it’s a super accurate HW30S. 😬

Leishy info

I have been wondering about the Edgun Leishy. The reviews I have seen carry it pretty high. Could someone who owns one tell me if it is as accurate and dependable as the reviewers are saying. It certainly has a lofty price tag. I would also like to know if it is backyard friendly with the factory moderator. The long version in .25 has caught my eye. My GK1 is in danger of being swapped out.

New guy from Texas

Hello! Long time powder burner but I cut my teeth on a Crosman 760 and 38T as a kid starting in the late-70s. My interest in airguns waned over the years until the club I belonged to hosted the Texas Airgun Show a few years ago. Since then I've kept them in the back of my mind but didn't do more than watch the occasional American Airgunner episode on Youtube or scan a forum every so often. About a month or so ago I was tasked with thinning the backyard squirrel population. Apparently they buggered up the lines for our internet and broke a couple of knick knacks in the backyard. That was the final straw for my wife who went from "Oh, do we really have to kill them?" to "Terminate with extreme prejudice!".

In my usual "Ready! Fire! Aim!" style I've already ordered a Diana Chaser kit in .22 but I don't know what I don't know yet. Max range will be a paced off 15 yards. My current thinking is to run it in pistol form or possibly pistol barrel with factory stock. I'm already planning on a Buck Rail optic mount (52 year old eyes don't like open sights anymore) and moderator for the pistol barrel.

The biggest head scratcher for me right now is pellet weight. I realize these things are like a rimfire in that each one is a law unto itself and you have to try multiple types/brands/weights of ammo to find what they like. I'm thinking of starting with the JSB Diablo Hades (15.8gn IIRC). Does that seem reasonable? Assuming the accuracy is there, is it enough for an ethical 15yd kill?

Thanks for any and all assistance on this and I'll keep searching and reading the forum in the meantime!

FX  Increasing velocity with the Impact M4 Sniper .25 cal

Having watched a lot of YouTube videos and read a lot of threads on here about the ‘best’ way to increase speed I feel I need a sense check.
My M4 from factory (.25 cal Sniper) came with the reg set at 100 bar, the Macro set at 16, micro at around 2.8 (as best I can tell) and the valve looked around 5 (if there was a line for 5).
With JSB Hades it chrony’d at 780 fps (Garmin X1).
I’ve not played with the reg or macro just the micro and turned up to about 3.5 and was getting 930 fps or there abouts. Shot to shot SD was around 3 and spread was closer to 13 over 10 shot groups.
So, the question I have is: am I asking too much by just raising the micro to achieve these speeds (or higher) or should I be increasing reg pressure instead and then putting the macro on around 8 and adjusting from there?
I plan on bringing the valve back to just over 4 and then tweaking backwards once I’ve got the speed where I want it (about 20fps higher than end goal).
The pellet port is currently in use.
I’ve got a heap of Hades but would like to see if I can get some lighter weight slugs to shoot half decent without going down the slug liner so I think I need to get up to around 950fps or 980 fps.
Any thoughts?
Cheers.
