A friend called, all upset that his new PCP didn't shoot well at all.

I asked what pellets he tried and he said just some Crosman Hollow Points. So
I told him to bring it over.

A quick test with several different weights of pellets showed that the PCP was factory tuned to 25 grain pellets and the 14 grain Crosmans were way too light.

Two choices to resolve the problem - shoot the 25s or retune to another pellet.

He chose to shoot a couple of tins of the heavy pellets to break the gun in then he would be back and we would tune to a lighter pellet.

So, just a suggestion for that shiny new airgun... try a variety of pellets, choose the best performer for the break-in and revisit the pellet choice when the gun has settled in.

I’ve decided to sell my RTI Mora .357 700mm rifle. It’s in like new condition and at most has only seen 150 slugs through it. I’ve owned it for a while but very rarely use it so I’m going to offer it up for sale. Sale will include the rifle (no scope) with the original case and all items that came with it new. It’s an excellent shooting rifle I only wish I had more time to use it. I will throw in a couple of boxes of Griffin 145 grain slugs that are very accurate in it. Only trade I would consider is a very nice Leishy 2 in .25 or possibly 9mm. I’m asking $2300 plus actual shipping. Thanks

What exactly is a "Diablo" type pellet? I see several companies use that description on their pellets. How do they differ from anything else?

I have this old rifle, I was thinking of breaking it back up and adding some upgrades.

I heard on this site (why I made an account) you can buy tanks on that Chinese site, real cheap? The posts were made back in 2020, so I assume the price has now doubled or more...from the quoted $30 on a very old post (I googled this first and it confused me, too many options).

Anyways, looking to upgrade this old gal and bump her up to 4500psi and I have one of those larger "air tanks" but I don't have a regulator... so if anyone will please give me exact recommendations for those two parts. it would be lovely. Thanks!

What are the best night vision scope choices?

I like to shoot all three. It’s amazing to me when my eyes are behaving just how accurate one can be without any magnification. I probably have as many dots on airguns as scopes. Also some diopters. Just fun for me to mix it up. The dots amaze me the most. Pistol or rifle they are accurate, fun and easy to use. If I really want to check ”dead center” accuracy, a scope can’t be beaten. Shooting bullseye’s with a diopter is the ultimate challenge. I just set up these three Daisy’s with a dot, diopter and scope. They are fun and incredibly accurate. So, do you have favorite? Rags to riches, pictures encouraged.

Is lubricating pellets necessary? I've read that people do it but am not sure if it's necessary or if it's better for certain sizes.

Happy to have given my oldest son Grant his first pcp, fill tank, pellets and scope today and I apologized to him for the addiction that follows lol. He said that he understands how that happens. Great guy to hunt and pest with and now to make more memories with him having his own rifle. Asked him to join us here on this great site and share his experiences.

Are there differences in shooting in colder weather versus hotter weather?

Bought a coloured laminate plank an had a crack at making a stock. Made 2 first one I kept to the original style an my second I mage original but with a thumb hole. Pretty happy how they turned out. Nice hobby for in the winter different colour block next time

While sitting on my porch feeding squirrels fresh lead sandwiches, I looked down and saw a bolt on the ground. Apparently, the bolt in the trigger guard had fallen out. That gave me a chance to tighten all the visible bolts in the hw97. Does anyone recommend using light lock tight on any of these bolts?

I bought this piece of airgun history almost a decade ago. It was the most affordable way to step up from my Diana Stormrider, at a time when money was tight but accuracy was a priority.
This is the Calibr Hooligun, a single shot predecessor to the Kalibrgun Cricket. Almost all Information on this rifle has dissolved into the abyss of internet archives. I have just a few printed documents and schematics that could add historical context.
I guess the question is... Does this thing carry ANY value? It shows signs of its age but functions perfectly.

Should PCP air rifles be depressurized when shipping? Even if it's shipped by ground transport?
