Airforce  Talon SS Refurbishment

I picked up a non-working .22 Talon SS a month or so back. My first foray into AirForce. Didn't hold air and the seller was not mechanically inclined. Got it cheap :) .

Fixed the valve on the bottle, o'ring came out in 3 pieces. That made the gun serviceable. Fired it didn't chrony.

I had a 1.1L fat bottle from one of my less stellar *ideas* and figured WTF and ordered a Cricket Z-Valve from Huben Power. It arrived and is now installed with the 1.1L and in the "does it hold air overnight" testing phase.

In the mean time I ordered a bunch of parts from Trajectron in India. Springs, hammers, Spin-Loc kit. The latter turned into a farce so that got put to the back of the queue.

Ordered some high flow (6mm orifice) internals for the standard valves from AliExpress.

Tomorrow I'll put it through the chrony and see how it works with the Huben/1.1L combo. Try some pellets and slugs, get the baseline with the same mid-point power setting.

Once all the parts are in I'll play with the high flow valve, 2 different hammers and a heavy spring. Probably start with the Huben Regulator to see how it does with the heavy hammer and spring. Then the high flow valve.

I have a Huben MAX-ATH Universal coming in so I may see if that 50cc plenum adds anything to the mix.

Still not a fan of the single shot form factor. Lacks the instant gratification of a Semi auto and the usability of a bolt/lever action.

N/A  Pistol for wife

Bought her a Crossman silhouette for Christmas. I didn’t really look at its specs before buying, I just thought its nice. But before shipping I realized it was single shot. Tried to cancel with amzon but too late. So I gave it to her and then returned.

So I want to get her a replacement. Man I like that Huben but not yet. I have a Reximex rpa which I like. I’ve been looking but not finding.
Pricewise tops $700 ish.

any recommendations that are actually buyable would be appreciated
thanks

Where to buy Airguns for good price

I want to share a few places I know where to buy Airguns.
I have been buying from these 3 places for a long time
1st is Natches shooter supply, and when you do this search go to the 2 ND listing down on Google.
There is a little secret here. In the website click on 3 bars in left hand corner choose shooting. Then choose recreational shooting at bottom.
Choose Airguns high to low they have some good sale prices , but here is the secret don't search just airguns go back , and search airgun accessories.
Here you will find some more airguns for great sales. I just missed a Hatsan
Neutron star for $505.
Place 2 is Buds gun shop. Just type in air then scroll down to airguns. Again go high to low to avoid little things.
Both places have the Hatsan Sniper Long at great prices. And Buds has a Gauntlet 2 sl in .22 for $327 free shipping. The last place is Guns Arizona.
I'm hoping this post will help some air gunners in this Nation.

New to the hobby.....

Howdy folks. Diesel here. New to the hobby and just wanted to introduce myself. I just jumped into the PCP realm and purchased a Umarex Gauntlet SL30. I've got ALOT of experience with the real thing(s) but none with the airgun side. I'm old and retired now, so I just want to get into punching holes in paper with the occasional small game hunting. I'm a 3X GWOT Veteran and also worked as an engineer for DOD. The Army's new weapons selections were programs I worked on prior to my retirement. So... (shrugs) I guess, there's that.
Alright, looking forward to getting to know you folks and learning some good stuff. Stay warm out there, it's snowing it's ***s off right now!

Sheridan  Sheridan Silver Streak Restoration

New to this forum. I just bought this working Sheridan Silver Streak for $50. I think I got a good deal. Based on a site I came across it was made between June 1956 and May 1961. It pumps up great and holds air. I’m assuming it fires just fine but som .20 caliber pellets are on the way so I’ll know shortly how it shoots. I’m wondering should I just clean and sell as is or is it worth paying someone to restore. I do enjoy squirrel hunting and may keep this awhile but buy/selling/trading and sometimes restoring is how I make extra money. Any input would be appreciated.

It goes here _______SLUGS?

Pistol,,Rifles I don't care , If your goofing around why shoot a slug under 50 yards? A pellets will do better in everything,, 100 yards pretty well the same,,, Past that and ya You better break the slugs out .. Not down on slugs I think more factory's will make SLUG guns , and the tide will turn, Slugs 1st and pellets might shoot well, I think there has to be a separation of the two.. Slug gun, no pellets designed as a SLUG gun, We need this/

New Member Intro & Caliber questions

New member here from NC. I will try to summarize briefly how I got here.

I'm an avid hunter and outdoorsmen and I've strictly used blackpowder weapons my entire life. Why you may ask? When I was 16 I was convicted of a felony and in NC it stays on your adult record for life( I am 35 now). I didn't let that stop me from getting outside and chasing wild game and plinking around.

I must admit I've been living under a rock, I had no idea how far the evolution of air rifles has come in the last decade.

I'm sold on the idea and ready to purchase my first air rifle. I have narrowed it down to the AirForce Texan (ss or lss) as I am a buy once cry once type of person.

My question is in regards to how versatile the .357 caliber is within the realm of hunting and predator dispatching. Im not looking to hunt deer with it as it seems like that's pushing it a bit, but I would be taking game anywhere from a squirrel up to a coyote.

Many thanks! And cant wait to get involved with the community.

FX  Best FX Ever Made...According to MongooseV8

I thought I would share some pics of my accidental purchase of this FX Wildcat Compact Tube with Laminate stock. I had posted a WTB ad for a wood or laminate stock Wildcat and @RM100GUY suggested I take a look at Mundilar out of Portugal. While I was trying to figure out how much the total cost would be, the "Review Order" button completed my order before giving me a total whoopsie.

This Wildcat is a 177Cal, and I intend to use this mostly for pesting with a little mixed use for EFT HFT. It has a few minor upgrades so far:

EPL4 Arken 4-16x44mm MIL
UTG Accu-Sync Cantilever Mount
FX CF Liner Sleeve
Huma High Flow Transfer-Port
Huma High Flow Pellet Probe
Digital Reg Gauge
Maverick style Plenum
Black Arts Design Barrel Band
Hugget Belita
Drilled Stock for Sling Swivel Stud

With the bipod it weighs ~9.45lbs and without is ~8.5lbs, balance is pretty great and the ergos are top tier. I will be updating soon with accuracy and shot string. For @Vetmx the current tune with JSB KO MK3 slugs creates 21.6fpe aka 29.28528 Newton Meters, making it Blimey Chuffed squirrel Lurgy Innit Bruv. (980fps)

FX  The Dreamline Lite .30cal is finally here- and i have some questions, please help!

Hi guys

its finally here.. i put it together- meaning back to its original power instead of 5.5fpe because i was in holland and could do that legally..

anyhow- i changed the port dial wheel, added the hammer weight (there was none-just a piece of plastic tubing  ) and cranked up the reg to 110 from the restricted 60bar..

but one thing was there that i did not use because there is no use for it in my DL..

its this black endcap that you see on this guy video- he even explains that its to put a tension or preload on his spring..

well- i have the tensioner with a dial (hammer power wheel) to put tension on the spring so i can not put this black endcap (with torx hole inside) because that's where my tensioner goes through ..

so, what's the deal with this endcap- i think the fx puts it in the high original power kit if i want to get rid of the hammer power adjuster and just cap the spring manually for tension or what is it for??

ScreenShot_10.01.2025_21_26_56.png

here is mine before i changed the parts..

and here is how she shoots- just one shot, only 110bar on the reg and 130bar in the cylinder, power wheel on 15, spring tension high, 45gr pellet going 718fps which gives around 50pfe or 69j- is that ok?

Air Arms  Please I need help with Air Arms S400 power

Hi everyone. I have an air arms s400 .177 that's maybe 15 years old but only shot maybe 10 tins of ammo through it. It was unused for many years and now that I've taken it out to shoot again, the power is very low. It's shooting 570fps with .5g pellets which is 5ftlb back in the day it was shooting 11ftlb

Things I've tried with little change...
Various pressures from 100 to 180bar
Spacer on firing spring to increase force
Polished main guide and bushings
Replaced orings and checked for air leaks
Checked pot depth is 57mm
Checked poppet valve and even made a new one from peek
Different pellets
Verified barrel port alignment
Verified valve guide rod is clean and free

I'm reaching out cause I'm at a total loss as to what it could be. It's consistent within around 5fps. Anything else I should check?

PCP Rifle  SOLD Fx panthera hunter compact .22 huma regulated reduced

Looking to sell my panthera hc in .22 cal. Bought it new from a fellow member last year. Less than a month of having it the amp regulator crapped out so I put in the newest adjustable version of the huma and haven’t had a single problem with it. I also put a 480cc omega bottle on it. So it shoots great with a very good shot count with jsb 18.1 pellets. And it will shoot the light weight nsa slugs like Ted said it would in his video. Comes with case, manual, fill adapter, and a new Orion magazine. Sell for $1225 shipped lower 48 PayPal or postal money order.

RAW Rapid  Raw hm1000x external plenum

Some years ago a user on here made an external plenum for the raw action with a co2 cartridge. Ever since, I’ve been wanting to built a bolt on external plenum and finally got around to fabricating one.
External plenum volume is 34cc
With an additional 33cc in the action. Giving me a total of 67cc.

Pretty pleased with how it turned out.
Rough calculation I seem to have gained around 16fpe
