Why would you sell?

Considering the vast selection in the classifieds section I'm left wondering why some of you part w your guns

Obviously it's often a means to clean out some space & acquire some spending cash to maybe try something different. But I see a lot of newer, high-end guns that come up which begs the question in my mind of what's the point of getting rid of a perfectly good gun? As a group there it seems like there are often comments made in reference to how expensive the costs of this activity can be, but it's funny how we tend to fully throw logic out the window when considering gun replacement costs.

Do golfers go thru clubs in the same way that we collectively go thru guns?

PCP Rifle  NLA .20 AirForce Talon SS with bipod - virtually new

I purchased this rifle just to "play with." After about 150 pellets & only receiving it this past Monday, having five very "high end" air rifles in my vault, I decided it just isn't for me. I paid Pyramid Air $800 for the rifle and bipod. SELLING FOR $550 SHIPPED WITHIN THE CONTINENTAL US.
If you want the Athlon Argos 6-24 Mil FFP scope, also new, add $250. Price is firm. Paymemt via Venmo or PayPal.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Will come in factory packaging with all manuals, etc.

Hatsan  New Hatsan at44 177 qe long for $138.00

I recently purchased a new Hatsan at44 177 long qe from PA for $138.00 tax and shipping costs included. I as of now don't have a pump so I am unable to see if I got a good deal or if I got a spectacular deal. It seems like everything is in order but I am as new to pcp air rifle as anyone can be. I didn't even know that there was such a thing out there. Sure I had bb guns when I was a kid but I didn't realize that the technology was at such a different level.
6 months ago I needed to get rid of some rats. So I got a M&P .177 co2. put a laser/ light on the rail and rats I did kill.
Then one day a friend handed me a marksman 0035 and asked if I could fix it. Never worked on any guns before so I said I would look into it and see if there was anything I could do. I turned to YouTube and found in time that I probably needed a new piston seal by the symptoms it displayed. Found out how to disassemble it on the cheap, cause I'm poor, built a vise to release the tension, got it apart, ordered a $12 seal from Amazon via Australia shipping more than seal for total of $26. Seal on,gun cleaned and inspected (but being a newb didn't know what to look for )gun silicon greased and put back together(pleasantly surprised ). Got a pellet from the small tin the owner had left with me(cheap daisys)loaded one in closed the barrel and CRACK. Well that made me smile.
Since then I have disassembled added shims to the spring guide and top hat. Added a good amount of silicon grease and put it back in working order(much more confident each reassemble). The only thing you hear when breaking the barrel is the click as the trigger catch is engaged,no more crunchy sound. Cheap scope 4x32 on it pellet loaded and I'll be dang it's a good little gun.Not pellet picky and shoots straight. What more could you want. Well the right thing to do is to get it back to the owner. Didn't want to though because I got attached to the increased power over my previous air gun experiences. What to do?
About a month goes by and for my birthday my friends get me a Gamo varmint 177 and know I think that I got it all. I spend my time learning about my new gun not willing to disassemble and void my warranty and finding out that overall it is a good gun.It has a pretty hard recoil but after learning about how to hold it properly and allowing the gun to do it's thing I'm getting pretty good at hitting what I'm aiming at.
So all of that leads me to here. I had become more and more interested in improving my shots but really just ended up going deeper and deeper down the air hole. I would watch videos of people shooting pcps and amazed by the silence. The complete lack of recoil. WOW. Then there was the price tag. Double WOW. Out of my price range. Sure there are a few crappy looking low end pcps but nothing that I was willing to gamble on. Then a couple of weeks ago I'm going through airgun sites looking at the nice things that I can't afford a I find Pyramid air and they are advertising 350% off a hatsan at44 177 qe long. I thought this is a scam for sure. So I researched PA and found them to be reputable. So I researched the gun and I found out so much about the Hatsan company, and the At44 platform. I found some negative and positive things about both but found much more positives overall. I really want it but I shouldn't get it because I really don't have the money to spare. But how often do you get a chance to own a brand new $500 pcp for a $138.00 with tax and delivery costs included, hmmm, not very often...... So I bought it and it is here now and I'm pretty excited to try it out.I'm anxious to know did I have a stroke of good luck or did get a project that I can't afford to make work. Hope to get a pump soon and find out.
Hope you found interest in this post and would love to hear about your experience with At44 long qe 177.

N/A  Best *Obsolete* or *Discontinued* PCP Rifle?

As PCP technology moves into more and more expensive territory what is the best rifles left behind.
I am getting quite partial to my FX Bobcat .30 and imagine its siblings Boss & Royale are just as good.
It is still a laser accurate rifle.

Secondly, the Career 707 in its many parents, names and styles.
Just a powerful and HEAVY rifle.

What else is up there and why?

And no, not MK1 vs Mk2 version, the whole line.

Umarex  Notos Barrel O-rings

So I need to replace the barrel O-rings on my Notos. I have looked everywhere to find them.
There is a guy on e-Bay who wants 20.00 bucks a pair. Sounds pricey to me and they are not O.E.M.
I bought the "Captain O-ring" rebuild kit for the .177/.22/.25 Umarex Gauntlet hoping it would work, with no luck.
Any suggestions?

Kalibrgun  Did another mod to my Cricket 2

With the crap weather we have right now, I got bored and machined an insert to go in the receiver end of the carbon fiber barrel sleeve I've got on my Cricket rifle and using the thread adaptor I machined for the moderator I can tension the carbon fiber sleeve against the face of the receiver and add tension to the barrel. I tested it out on my range today and I can see a difference it made in the grouping of the Nielson 17.5 gr. slugs I'm shooting at 50 yards. I absolutely love this little rifle.....I've got a like new M3 Impact that shoots lights out but I enjoy shooting this Cricket more....:)

Here's a full mag (14) shots at a measured 50 yards.........

FWB  FWB 124 - bent barrel needs replacement or straightening

I was given a beat up 124 back around 1993 or so. The stock was broken at the pistol grip, the barrel had some pitting and missing blueing, but otherwise it was more or less intact. I repaired the stock and had a luthier friend spray a poly finish over it.
Once it was reassembled, I discovered that it shot way high and far left, to the point that the sights ran out of adjustment before getting the gun to zero.
One of my neighbors was a "gun guy", so he and I attempted to straighten the barrel. As I recall it, this involved a pair of V-blocks, a dial indicator and a very large dead-blow hammer.
These efforts met with some modest success, such that with a homemade elevator block under the front sight, and an aftermarket rear aperture sight cranked all the way over, it will shoot within a 1/2" of center at 10 yards, delivering nice little groups. But it ain't right, and I want it fixed.
Any advice or recommendations ?

N/A  Question about Break-Barrel Power Loss at High Altitude

Hi Gang,

Does anyone have any data (empirical is OK) that shows the velocity of a piston airgun at different altitudes?

I'm considering buying a break barrel rifle that shoots 14.3 gr at 750 fps at 500' altitude. I live at 6500'. Velocity wise, I'd like to know what to expect with the same pellet.

I ask this question because last year I bought a new (.22) HW30 that shot 425 fps in AZ, but 350 fps at 6500' with the same pellet.

Is it simply a linear relationship? Based on the gas laws, probably not. But I don't know.

Thanks!

(ADDENDUM: This is not about PCP's. I know PCPs are more consistent at altitude. I'm asking about break barrels.)

HAND PUMPED AIR RIFLES

Hi, I was wondering if any BRAND NAME air rifle manuf. makes a old style pump air rifle , I have been looking and havent found any,or am I just looking in wrong places? I think if a company made one , they would have buyers.I know I am old school and OLD , but I bet there is quit a few that would like to back to OLD SCOOL if for nothing else ,nostalgia. And those did produce some velocity out of them and accuracy was very good.I used to shoot little army plastic men at about 30ft or so. Took out MANY platoons in my basement.I was a hero in my own mind.

  • Question
HW/Weihrauch  Hw80k versions

Hi all.

I need a very pressing question answering, which I know my fellow airgunners will have an answer too.

The HW80/HW80k. A staple example of a springer!... But... has the performance changed at all over the years? Is it still the same internally as it was 20 years ago, or has it been dampened down at all. The new HW80k luxus looks cracking. But, I'm unsure whether to go for an earlier model as I want the magic that has given this gun somewhat of an external glory. That said, if the inner workings are the same across all generations, I shall go for the new versions as I do prefer the look.

Please help:)

PCP Pistol  NLA WTS MY PRIDE PROD

NO LONGER AVAILABLE- DECIDED TO KEEP- THANKS FOR LOOKING

Letting this one go. It’s been a good squirrel tool, and got moved over to be my gopher tool but I never see those critters doing damage so the gun just sits.

This PROD has been fitted inside with Hill parts, larger transfer ports, stout hammer springs and a aftermarket valve. Has the Hill moderator which works really well. It remained unregulated, and has been recently resealed. Added the stainless safety vs the factory plastic, grip wrap, aftermarket adjustable shoulder butt with locking, push button detents. Super lightweight. Good power. Here are some pics-

Comes with 3 mags, a mag pouch, extra hill parts, (2)new spare 0-3000 psi factory gages, (2) aftermarket composite hammer weights, extra Hill hammer springs, the factory innards like valve, transfer port, etc, and a whole lot of spare o rings to seal up the entire gun multiple times from oringsandmore.

The factory stock attachment I still have and it was never used and will ship with this gun. The scope and mounts I will keep. Looking for a fair price of $595, which will include the shipping fees. Will only ship to the CONUS, and payment is standard PP F&F or G&S with buyer paying the Fees.

I have met a lot of great people on this forum, along with at competitive matches. Ask any of them as I’ll give referrals, they’ll tell you I take pride in my equipment and take utmost care of my PCP’s. You can search my history, and you’ll see I’ve never done wrong to anyone

What is Acceptable Percentage of Error for a Guage

I just bought a Scandinavian Arms SA ADJT SB valve for my 2 liter tank.

20250114_183253.jpg

It is an extremely well made valve, it operates perfectly, except for the fill gauge reads 20 bar high.

I have compared it to gauges that I know are correct.

I have emailed Scandinavian Arms twice and haven't heard back from them.
I have talked to the dealer I bought it from and their answer was this is an acceptable amount of error in a gauge.

I feel this is too much error, especially at the price they charge for the valve.
Maybe I'm being to critical?

What is your opinion

PCP Rifle  NLA FX Impact M3 30 cal 700mm Sniper Brand New, Never Fired Lower Price

*****Lower Price!*****

Hey all,

Back a couple of years ago, I purchased a new FX Impact M3 30 cal Sniper with the 700mm barrel. It has sat in the case beside my desk and has never been outside or fired. I just don't have time and I'm getting ready to move.

I spared no expense in building the M3 I wanted. I'm not a rookie either, there isn't a mark on the M3 anywhere. Every single add-ons was torqued correctly, etc. In short, it's perfect. Never had any leaks of any kind and I filled the M3 to 240 bar and it hasn't moved in over a year. It's solid and sealed.

I purchased this right as they changed to the Power Block. The one I was sent doesn't have the Power Block. Doesn't even matter unless you plan on shooting extremely heavy slugs. The M3 will ship in the factory FX hard case that you see here and will be in the box that it was shipped in as well.

You have a few options to purchase.

1) I'll sell the factory stock m3, with all the add-ons removed, just like it came from the factory. $1500.00 plus 4% PayPal fee, Shipped in lower 48 states.

2) You can buy the M3 as is with all add-ons, minus scope. $2400.00 Shipped if in the lower 48 states. If you want insurance, that's extra.

3) You can purchase the M3, all add-ons, including the scope as you see in the picture. $3300.00Shipped if in the lower 48 states. If you want insurance, that's extra.

Here are the add-ons:

  1. FX Impact M3 30 cal Sniper 700mm version - Copper color - I paid $2299.00
  2. Vortex Viper PST Gen II Scope 5-25x50 - I paid $1100.00
  3. Vortex Precision Matched Rings 30mm 1.45 inch - I paid $150.00
  4. Vortex Front and Rear Scope Caps - I paid $40.00
  5. Saber Tactical Adjustable Butt Stock - I paid $275.00
  6. Saber Tactical Cheek Riser - I paid $65.00
  7. Saber Tactical Impact Arca II Rail - I paid $160.00
  8. Saber Tactical Bag Rider (Not shown, will be included) - I paid $65.00
  9. Saber Tactical extended fill probe with magnetic cover - I paid $50.00
  10. FX Integrated Harmonic Barrel Tuner 700mm with Carbon Fiber Sleeve - $170.00
  11. FX Impact Side Shot Magazine - $70.00 (Extra Magazine, High Capacity)
  12. FX Carbon Fiber Liner Sleeve (makes barrel more rigid) - $30.00

Total I paid with tax = $4910.00 for the above build.
