EFT @ Gradys in pa

Shot a EFT at Gradys air gun world in Newville pa on saturday. Phone app was calling for rain and it was very overcast even started to rain a little before the match started but quit. There were 4 targets per lane and 10 lanes for a 40 target match to be shot twice. Ranges were 20-109 yds. Had the ghost 25 cal 23” barrel and 33.9 aea with a Helos 6-24x56. Shot the first 40 targets only missing 1 we took a break to air up and went right back to the second 40 hoping to avoid rain. Towards the end the wind was picking up pretty good having to hold completely off target on a couple but managed to only miss 2 more targets! Took first place with a score of 77 out if 80! Great day at a well run event!

Hi Guys
I have a new airforce texan 308.
I got a good deal. New rifle, scope,

Crosman  Silhouette first shots

Evening everyone,

I finally got my first shots on my new to me Sillhouette today. It’s got a two color dot sight on it and I used the green instead of the red. Using Crosman red tip pellets the gun is shooting high and left and I’ll take care of that but shooting for groups I couldn’t be happier. Starting at the max allowable 3000 psi I got 40 shots and dropped to 2000psi and got five round dime size groups when I held my hand very steady. This is a good one. I wonder what competition I can use this gun/sight combination in?

Bad luck

Hey guys just joined this group to get some advice. Been having a bit of trouble shooting recently that being, broken springs, broken off bolts, extremely inaccurate shots, and so on, my first rifle a 600 fps gamo was perfectly accurate with very predictable pellet drop. 60 to 100+ yards no problem. But the gamo's spring broke. Then got a 1000fps unarex surgemax nucleus rail which even with iron cites was no where near as accurate as the gamo, when I tried to cite in a scope it was a nightmare tried for a couple days, no luck there was no consistent pellet spread, which made me doubt my shooting, I would like to think i have some idea of what im doing. Relaxed shoulders, gentle grip, squeezing the trigger, both eyes open, breathing out then shooting at the bottom of my breath etc. Then I broke that rifle too. I don't have a lot of money but I enjoy shooting especially living in NZ where firearms are hard to obtain. Basically im looking for cheap but reliable rifle options. and what I may have done wrong with my last rifles. Thanks guys

Air Venturi  Avenge x regulator pressure

how low are you guys able to get your reg pressure on the avenge x? I seem to only be able to get down to a hair below 2000? I’m able to tune for most pellets but I really wanted to shoot the hades around 880 and I’m not able to do so unless I use the transfer port adjustment. I seem to recall getting the reg rather low on my old avenger pup. Any thoughts? Brand new gun maybe 400 shots thru it.

Mordax Venom - Pesting

A couple of reds have been chewing our family's cottage and it was time to put an end to that with the mordax. Both shots were up in tall pines. One red was about 30ft up stationary barking at us (big mistake). My old man was with me and gave me the nod to try out my new hardware. Pop, down he came. My dad didn't see the second one as I aimed higher and let out another shot at about 60ft up.. It was looking down at us and entered his shoulder and out his abdomen. It sounded like a soda can exploded way up in the tree and he came crashing down through branches. Usually my dad and I are pretty serious when hunting, but this was so dramatically comical how he came down cracking off branches and landing with a loud thud. Good times. We went and had a beer and a giggle by the lake afterwards.

This is my first semi auto PCP and it's a 30cal shooting fx atomic 44.75gr pellets around 720fps for around 50fpe with the reg at 150bar. This is how it came stock. I may turn the power down some as most of my shots will be <50yards and it's devastating these critters. The huma mod40 does a great job quieting it down on par with my donnyfl shogun but a 1-2 inches shorter. My dad and I have a pair of edgun leshiy classics that we love dearly but another mordax may be in my dad's future.

Budget Scope AO Scale/Adjustment

Hello All,
I'm still pretty green around here so forgive me. My first PCP I got the A.V. Avenger Bullpup (2), 25 cal. I got a budget CVLife 2-10x32 AO. It's compact, illuminated, came with a nice cantelever mount. It's seemed to always hold well. My question is regarding the parallax adjustment.
Generally, I like to zero at 30 yards as my raccoon activities are generally 30-40. Till today, I was basically setting the Objective to the 30 yard mark and leaving it. I had to remount so now with a pinch more experience I checked things a little closer.
The design of the Bullpup is hard to move the head around with a full picture without moving the rifle, so I'm behind it, looking thru and pretty much only seeing the center of the reticle.
As I shifted around it was definitely floating. I slowly adjusted, check, repeat. When it reached the point where the dot was glued regardless of shifting/wiggling around, I see it's set at just under the 50 yard setting on the dial?
I trust my eyes more than a number on a dial but I'm wondering if this is the proper way to approach it? Are there any indicators I could be missing? I will say after this change I was inside 1/2" at 30 so... With a 32 objective, I guess there's less possible error but it's there. With the scale being so far off I'm wondering if I'm missing something?
Thanks Very Much

Foundation Stocks will be making a stock for the DRS!

I was watching this short from Utah Airguns, Justin mentions his DRS is in a Foundation Stock.

So I emailed Foundation Stocks to see if they will be making Stocks for the DRS, this is the answer I received.

The Ultimate Reloader has a excellent video about these stocks.
Plus he has built many rifles with their stocks.

I will be contacting Utah Airguns to find out availability and price.
This is awesome to have another option for a DRS stock and one of the reasons the DRS is my favorite air rifle.

New Prototype Stock For the Barra 250z

I have been working on this one for a while. This is not quiet the final prototype but very close. I have a couple of minor cosmetic geometry changes to make on the stock and some refinements to the trigger guard. Then it will be good to go. I will be making the design in wood and composite versions in both Glass Fiber and Carbon Fiber.

I do not have the safety bolt install but it will and function beautifully.

Gamo  Replay 10x IGN gen 1 - shooting when barrel closes

Hi fellow airgunners. Not so long I purchased GAMO Replay 10x IGN 5.5mm rifle. Rifle is like new (bought it from a friend) an it shoot 30-40 pellets before me.
Used it for two weekends for sighting, practicing and various testing in the field, when yesterday it surprisingly fired on barrel closing!
Being around weapons for long, I double checked safety on, and still when cocking piston I always try to close barrel towards empty space (target area, or ground) so it fired safely!
I repeated dozen of times, and it happens 2-3 on 10 barrel breaking!!!
Does anyone has any idea, what went wrong!
Rifle shoot maybe 100 pellets!
Kept in home, no T no humidity.
Oiled on joints, and moving parts properly.
Never dropped!

Please help, cause this does not feel safe to shoot with.

Best,

Cpt. Nemo

I have it tuned to full power for Zan 30gr slugs. FPS is averaging 975. It must be dialed back to keep FX Hybrids averaging 975 FPS.

HW/Weihrauch  .25 springer

Anyone out there shooting a .25 spring gun? I have always been interested in this combination. And for me the only game in town would be the HW80 or HW77. Please tell me your experience and thoughts, purpose of the rifle would be an open sighted hunting rifle. Also what pellets are good for this combo? I have a .25 marauder that loves Jumbo heavy, but I would imagine those would be too heavy? Anyway can’t wait to read your experiences!!

Airforce  Text Rex pressure gauge

I have a Sekhmet 28mm digital pressure gauge that is rated at a working pressure of 300 bar. My guns max fill is 310 bar. Does anyone think the additional 10 bar added to the tank will pose a safety issue if I used the SEKHMET gauge? It would only be an additional 145 PSI. I Believe that typically when it comes to pressure relation, things we use are typically tested at 1000 to 1,500 PSI more than what they're rated for. Just want to get everyone's opinion on this!

FX  Fx crown mkll project

Recently a nice crown wearing a GRS stock found its way to the classifieds. Subsequently it found its way to my door. It really was in good shape as advertised to include the tiny blemish on the shroud. My intent was to just install the GRS on to my crown and use the recent one as a project....ie hydro dip the stock and try other barrel lengths.

So, says I, that 500 barrel could lose a couple of millimeters and the extra shroud from an older impact looks just about right for a shorty shroud. Boom ! Just like that I've got a 400mm crown (not 380mm). Odd note my 500mm crown liner That I cut was only 482mm long while a fx impact 700mm liner is 700mm long. ???? Not sure of fx measuring protocols. The 82mm that I amputated came off the breech end to maintain the pellet choke on the liner. Gotta say the shorter barrel is handy. We'll see if it shoots tho'
