Airforce  I finally bought a PCP. I hope the Condor SS Airforce in 25 does it.

Finally bought a PCP. I am really excited about geting it. A new airgun experience for an old airgunner. I hope the .25 cal "AIRFORCE" CONDOR SS MODEL R1212 PELLET RIFLE is as good as the reviews claim. I like that it is made in the USA.

I saw a .30 cal barrel for the gun. I did not really understand about the caliber limitations. Can a .45 barrel be fitted to this model? Or just the .30? I am sure the 25 cal will kill the groundhog digging up my backyard.

I read the 24 inch barrel that's baffled 25 is backyard friendly. Anyone AN members using this setup near neighbors?

My RAW HM1000X .25 took gold in Oregon this weekend!

Hey guys!

Fresh off of the weekend at the Ashland Oregon benchrest, EFT and long-range shoot.

I did not do extremely well on benchrest, took 7th overall in EFT, but I was able to secure a win in the long range competition.

Targets were placed at 140, 167, 187, 249 and 298 yards. With the farthest target being 60 MOA of adjustment you can say it was quite a poke.

As always I like to bring my neighbor with me to events and he was my spotter.

The gun I chose to use was my RAW HM1000X in .25 caliber fitted with an Athlon Midas Tac 5-30x56 and my moderator.

Over the past few weeks I have been doing extensive r&d and playing with designs that got my RAWs power up, while maintaining a reasonable regulator pressure, increasing efficiency, shortening lock time and reducing muzzle report.

At 150 bar I am able to shoot the Altaros smooth 49.5gr slugs at 905-910fps. I can increase reg pressure to reach 100 FPE but prefer the 150 set point.

The gun is extraordinarily docile, makes power extremely easily and clearly does its job at hitting the target!

With the tune that I am performing I'm able to maintain the original 60 FPE+ power level at a much lower regulator set point giving an additional 1 to 2 magazines per fill.

Big shout out to RAW, and Athlon optics for making quality equipment that helped me be successful at this event!

Some more info:
Max power achieved in each caliber I have tested, and power recommended per caliber. This is with the plenum installed.

.22 max 80fpe, recommended 74fpe
.25 max 102fpe, recommend 90fpe
.30 max 122fpe, recommend 110fpe max

The recommended max is keeping the regulator in the factory setpoint of 150 + or - 5 bar.

Looking for basic scope for pcp

I am putting together a pcp for my neighbor for squirrels. Here's what I think he would want.
Distance to targets is 20-24 yards)
SFP
4-12-40 ( 40mm max)
Regular ole Cross Hair
Non Illuminated
Adjustable Objective ( side focus would be wonderful)
I have Bushnell Banners that would be perfect, IMO, but I don't want to remove from my rifles.
Budget; $125-$185
Thanks

Has anyone tried one of these Chronys? Thoughts?

As the title says (asks), anybody here tried one? Feedback?

My UPS SHIPPING TIPS

I want to share my UPS shipping tips with my AGN brothers and sisters.

I have encountered issues with UPS losing packages that I shipped out.

Based on my experiences with UPS drivers, warehouse employees, and customer service, I've compiled some essential tips for shipping packages with UPS.

1. Use a sturdy box and strong shipping tape.
2. Pack items tightly inside the box to prevent movement during transit.
3. Shipping labels can easily get ripped off—especially when placed inside UPS clear plastic ziplock pouches—or sustain damage that makes them unreadable and undeliverable. In such cases, UPS may declare the package lost even though it's in their warehouse.

A UPS customer service agent recommended printing three copies of the shipping label when sending out packages to avoid lost items:
A. Tape one shipping label to the top of the package or box.
B. Tape a second copy to the side of the package or box.
C. Place a third copy of the shipping label inside the package as a backup in case the external labels become damaged.

Additionally, if you use a UPS Access Point, remember that these are third-party providers. UPS cannot access its computer database for tracking until it receives and scans the label. Therefore, it is essential to keep your receipt as proof of shipment.

UPS Stores are an improvement over UPS Access Points.

They have a direct partnership with UPS, which allows for better tracking information than what is available with UPS Access Points.

When I travel with my PB guns, I use an Apple Airtag placed inside the case as I don't trust TSA. That is another option to consider when shipping expensive air rifles, and it's cheap insurance.

BR Questions

Thinking about PCP BR, no competition just for my own enjoyment of trying to put them all in one hole at 30-75 yards. Have a BR scope, a front rest and rear bags. I considered a Benjerman Challenger as a starter rifle. But they come with expensive sights, and I don't need them, and I find nothing used. I already have a M-Rod Field and Target, is there anything else I should look at? My funds are not unlimited.

FX  FX Impact M4 Compact in .25 shooting Hybrids

Hello all,

I have a FX Impact M4 Compact in .25 with a heavy liner. I'm looking to shoot some Hybrids up to 100 yards. My goal is accuracy, not FPE. From your experience and without me having to use hundreds of Hybrids, what speed is best for the hybrids? It'll be a good target for me as right now I have it tuned for 945 fps. I'm only able to shoot 12 yards, but with the 12 yards, it should be hole on hole, but it's not. Group shot count is not consistent, but no group is hole on hole. My Krait Standard in .22 shooting slugs is hole on hole. See pictures below. Or is the Impact compact just not able to shoot Hybrids? If so I guess I'll be going back to pellets. Last 3 (Bottom right 3) were JSB Hades going at 951 fps, same tune as the Hybrids.

I usually try to get groups very tight at 12 yards before going to the range. Unfortunately, I don't have a place to shoot far.

I have new in a box a ATHLON Talos/SFP 3-12x40 been on the shelf for 2 years. Is this a good enough scope for the Marauder and varmits? Dont think ill be shooting more than 40 yards maybe longer but who knows. Could go with another PCP but would like to keep it under 1000.00 dollars,

Appreciat the advice

L-E-M Spitzer Pellet Mould

A fellow airgunner was kind enough to gift me a L-E-M mould in .22. I finally figured out where a tin of slugs came from after laying around for 20 years.
I cast a few myself, and they are in the 20 - 22gr. range.
As for the dimensions, they range from .217 - .223 as cast.
Decided to size a few samples from the tin in .2173, and distribute to a few of my customers.
This is by far the most difficult mould to work with, as there is no sprue cut-off.
Need to be tested in a PCP 22 - 35 FPE range.

Umarex  Notos detuning for more shots per fill?

Hey Everyone!

I really like the current form factor (and look) of a stock notos. But I was wondering if anyone has detuned this thing to get more shots per fill. My max distance to shoot in my backyard is about 30 yards, so I don't think I really need much power for that distance. I have the hammer spring turned down about 1.5 turns to the left and get roughly 35 shots till i get down to 2000psi on the gauge.

Just would like advice if it would worth it to possibly lower the regulator and/or put in a lighter hammer spring, or if I should look into getting a c88 plenum thing to get more shots per fill. I do use a hand pump which is why I like the current size and form factor. Thank you in advance!
