JTS  JTS Airacuda Owners (new product)

There is a known issue with many Airacuda Std. & Max rifles having pellet clipping issues when using an add-on 'moderator'. DonnyFL has once again come to our rescue with what I hope will be a fix for those of us unlucky enough to have one of the rifles with the clipping problem!

Mine is already ordered so I will report on function in the weeks to come.

New style adapter for Airacuda Std. & Max.

How would you handle this?

I bought a Daystate Revere and finally had the opportunity to get a scope mounted and shoot it this past weekend. I have a Huma Mod30 mounted to it and it wouldn't group

I took the Huma off and it shoots dimes. Great, it must be clipping. Next step was to take the Huma apart and all the baffles are spotless, just as I was putting it back together I noticed this on the end cap.

Is this something that Huma should be responsible for or is it easier to just widen the port a few thousandths and get back to shooting?

Crosman  New 1701p

Received my Crosman 1701P 2 days ago. Unboxed it and mounted a Williams open sight and a set of Steve Corcoran grips. Yesterday I mounted a target at 10 yards and when I went to sight in the open sights, I realized my old eyes weren’t going to be able to use open sights! I had an Optisan CP 3-12x32P rifle scope on another PCP, so I borrowed it with its UTG rings and mounted it to the 1701P. Set scope at 6x, filled to 3000psi, sighted in the scope and shot 75 AA 10.3gr pellets. The ending pressure was approximately 1400psi (I ran out of my AA pellets at 75). I am very impressed with the accuracy and consistency for an unregulated pistol right out of the box.

For a Crosman out of the box trigger I was blown away. It has a nice first stage with a clear stop at the second stage with a crisp break for a total average pull of 13 ounces. I have a 1720 (1701 converted to 1720) and a Prod with the same trigger group but they required polishing/adjustment and still aren’t as nice as this trigger out of the box. I have paid tuners to get triggers this good in the past! Not sure if this is an anomaly or if Crosman has stepped up their game.

Temp 62*
Barometer 23.06 inHg
Altitude 7126 ft
Shot count: 75
Low: 399 FPS
Hi: 433 FPS

Initial stock hammer settings:
Hammer throw – 1 ¾ turns from full CCW
Hammer spring – 2 ½ turns from full CCW

I am going to install some different TPs to see how it performs at higher velocities. Also have a spare 1720 LW 12” barrel that I will install and test.

LCS Air Arms  Shot LCS SK19 Out of Air...Now it Leaks

I got a friend an almost brand new .22 LCS from another friend. He knew you were not supposed to shoot it till the air runs out. You have to refill it after 3 mags.
I guess he let a friend shoot it and the guy held the trigger down till it dumped all the air. Now when he fills it the air leaks out the back of the gun...or inside somewhere.

Does anyone know what o-ring pops when you shoot it out of air? I should be able to fix anything on the gun, if I know what to look for.

Thank you!

FX  Impulse Air Moderator Tuning

Did some moderator testing today with the Impulse Air 1350. The target card is 55 yards with (4) 5 shot groups. Top row is 3 baffles, middle is 4, bottom is 5. Groups were all pretty consistent 1/2” to 5/8” for the most part. A moderate 2-3 mph headwind did some pushing but nothing crazy. I saw a big difference when I moved it out to 103 yards. Groups circled in red are 5 baffles green are 4 baffles, no circles are 3 baffles which was the clear winner with 3 of the 4 groups under an inch with the best being .65”. The Maverick was on point today running the .25 FX 34’s at about 920 fps.

FX  Impact M3 Front Regulator Rebuild

I have a small leak (<10bar/day) on the first regulator on my impact m3. After doing some bubble tests I found that its coming from the small hole in the side of the reg. I have replaced the piston and set screw o-rings but it’s still leaking.
I am having trouble identifying which o-ring goes on this brass piece;

Have been considering moving over to the Huma-Air regulator and this might be a good excuse. Anyone have any experience with their front reg?

N/A  Decent compact bullpups ~24" OAL??

Why are there no decent/Budget compact bullpups out there? Sure one can get a Edgun Lelya 2.0, the old Taipan Vet shorts were great, and I believe the Uragan Compacts are in that size range also, but none are cheap in the least bit. I'd buy something in the $500 range if I could get something in the 24" range that's quiet and a decent trigger. Oh and like 5lbs. Power wise I'm good with 20fpe max, but really 15fpe is perfect for my short range needs. Is it that hard to make a decent bullpup? My Notos is great but you know what be even better? A bullpup version of the Notos. I've had issues where even though the Notos is around 33" how its setup, it's still long around corners and tight spots in our milk barn. A compact bullpup would be great, but make do as there's nothing out there I'm aware of that's not $1k plus. Rant over.

FX  FX .25 Impact MkII to M3 upgrade

Hi all, I don't post a lot on here, but I have been a member for some time. My question is pretty simple. I have a .25 FX MkII Impact, tuned with the slug power mod and set up to push a custom swaged (Corbin) BT 45 grain slug to around 920fps for about 84 ft-lbs. I am considering going up to an M3, but I am not totally sure it if I will be gaining that much. Any opinions on this are welcomed. I am also considering the pathera, because its longer magazine would allow me to make a 52 grain slug of the same design and hopefully, push that to around the same speed.

I use this gun mostly for night time predator hunting and pest control around my farm.

Thanks!

HW/Weihrauch  Blowing off steam with the Weihrauchs today.

The rain finally stopped late today. After getting a crooked roof from a crooked contactor, finding out the beautiful property my new house views is up for sale and I was mislead on my property boundaries I had a little steam to blow off today.

I have rain proof spinners at 25, 50 and a beer can on a brush pile at 72 yards to get even with. After figuring out my holdovers on my hw50, hw95 and Hw30 I was able to hit all three targets pretty reliably with all three guns. The 95 wasn't much a challenge. The 50 worked almost as well. The hardest to hit the can at 72 yards was the peepsighted 30. The can had to be covered by the middle of the front sight post.

These things keep me from going nuts. Well more nuts 😬

H&N Slug HP II

Been getting some excellent groups with these slugs. I have been through ~8k v2 javelins and they performed well for a while but groups started opening up after some time.
Decided to give these a go and haven’t looked back.
They also make a hell of a noise against pest birds & squirrels.
5 shots each @ 40 yards

FX  Fx Pantera and Dynamic

Genuine Question.. based on their power output and really small expread between shoots .. are there as complex as the impact or these have reasonably less orings..? I have never purchased a FX , but the raw balanced power is hard to miss .. looking forward for 2 things bigger magazine in the next gen .. and the next gen impact..hopefully this comes with 11/16 deap.mags .

Accessories  SOLD Nitrogen fill assembly from Joe B. (Made in USA)

Selling a 6k PSI Nitrogen fill assembly from airtanksforsale (Joe B.). It is in perfect shape. I just no longer have Nitrogen.

Asking $125 shipped. Make an offer if you can use it…
These sell new for $204

If you have ever considered Nitrogen, it can be a great investment, instead of buying and repairing cheap compressors every year, and then not throwing down $4k for a super reliable compressor. Take all the worries away with Nitrogen.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Custom Barrel - Huben K1 .25 by Kraz Cool Air Guns

Up for sale is an insane Huben K1 in .25 cal, built by Kelly at Kraz Cool Air Guns LLC and tuned by SongV. I have used the Huben K1 exclusively for hunting hogs on my property but this airgun doubles just as well for competition shooting. If you YouTube "Desert Airgun"and watch his videos, his Huben is a sibling to this one I own. If you'd like to see this rifle in action you can find some of my videos in the hunting forum here. SongV tuned this rifle for 38gr NSA slugs but it also shoots JSB Hades fantastically as well. There's a small nic in the top rail I've included in the pictures, it doesn't effect anything. The rifle is in excellent condition otherwise. Please see the photo that shows the build specifications for modifications made to the rifle. I will include a Hugget Atom moderator in the price listed as well as any slugs/pellets I have left.

My reason for selling is quite simple, we are building a business on my property and I will no longer have the time nor space to shoot. Happy to answer questions!

RAW Rapid  Martin and Sandra Rutherford really came through with my RAW request

Martin and Sandra Rutherford modified my post Air Force RAW HM1000x chassis to allow me to replace the ugly canister moderator with an 0Db moderator. Beautiful work and personal service from Airguns -USA.

Ugly shot, Ugly squirrel but I got em

Well it's finally squirrel season now in SC and they have been visiting my oak trees but I've been frustrating myself missing. Several of the shots I could not see the squirrel clearly and should not have taken the shot. Like this morning. I thought the squirrel was in the crotch of a tree and shot at what I thought was the squirrel and hit the tree. I saw it run off. But an hour or so later it or another one was back in that same crotch and I didn't hit it as far forward as I wanted but I got it. I could see it this time. It had three parasites of some sort in it's skin. You can see them bulging the skin out in the first picture and the third picture is one that fell out when I was cleaning the squirrel. Looks like some sort of worm but really short and fat. The first picture also shows some intestine from the exit of the pellet. The bloody side is the entrance side. This is the ninth squirrel I've shot with my P35 in 177 that shoots H&N Baracuda Match 10.6 grain at about 900 fps. About the only good thing about my shot placement is it shows my 177 will take them even with poor placement. I will continue to try and do better but a 177 works. The squirrel took a few steps up the tree after impact but fell pretty quickly. It weighed 1 lb on my fish scale and was 22 yards away at a 30 degree angle up in a tree.

regulator and barrel length relations

what’s up everyone!
does anyone have a link or information about the maximum fpe attainable with a regulated airgun and an 11.5” barrel sending .22 cal at 14.3-25 grain? this is with all relevant ports expanded for transfer of air. im expecting there’s a plateau for each given pellet before i went searching for it, i was hoping someone here knows or can point me in the right direction.

is all the information i need found in regulator valve dwell time at different pressure set points?
