Hatsan Jet3

I bought one a week ago and it did not go well. Fitted a Victoptics red dot and tried to get it to shoot close to target in my garage over 5 meters.
Could not get it to group at this distance. At 10m four out of five were on an A4 paper target and one shot was complete off the paper. It tried about 15 different types and weights of pellets. Best was H&N Barracuda 18.
Took it back to the dealer on Saturday and he checked the barrel. There was a very serious barrel problem and the importer agreed to replace the gun.
I am now waiting for the replacement.

It was a 5.5 mm caliber and was producing 15.4 to 15.8 FPE, depending on pellet type and weight. Generally it is very nice. Light and ergonomic. Without the stock it handles easily in confined spaces like a warehouse, and in my case, garage. The stock is very sturdy with only a small amount of movement in the adjustable butt. The other gun, of the two that was received by the dealer, is very accurate and shoots very well. Just me that got the lemon, ......again.

The tape around the pacifier (Can't call it a silencer, does not silence the bark) ports reduce the amount of sound substantially.

Tuning  Drilling or venting Hammer

I drilled or vented the hammer in my Artemis PP 750 on Friday because I believe I was getting air bounce between the hammer and the valve. What additional tuning does this require? With no other changes my fps went from 722 to 760 with a 16 gr pellet.

I expected a minor pickup but definitely not this much.

The gun is ported to a hair over 5/32" at valve and TP, the thimble is a little more than that with the single port mod.
I have the extended plenum from Wes, designed by Bighun.
The reg. is still at <1,400 psi as it came from the factory.
10" barrel.

When tuned to 720 ish which I believe was around the "knee" the hammer spring adjuster was about one turn in from full out, another turn and a half was max power.

I drilled a 1/8" hole in the center of the hammer as the poppet pin is off center to the hammer face.
When I reinstalled everything with the HS adjuster the same # of turns in I had picked up 35 to 40 fps and would max out at about 765. I am now backed as far as the adjuster will go to roughly the new knee.

my shot consistency had dropped off a bit but not horrible.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

I am not looking for max power but right now I am seeing 20+ shots at 20fpe. I am fine with that. just want to refine the tune.

Thanks

PCP Rifle  NLA FX Maverick compact .25 with scope.1100!

Up for sale is a like new Maverick compact .25. Has digital orc air gauge, two mags, UTG compact 3-12 power scope, UTG rings, Fx factory can moderator. Will ship in FX factory hard case. Will try to add pics of hard case later. Gun shoots excellent. Currently just shot 28 gr barracuda hunters in upper 870’s on 7 power. Upper 860’s on 6. Shoots the 25.39 right around 900. Pictured shot string is with 25.39 on PW 6. Looking for 1100 shipped for it all. Not hurting to sell. I really would just as soon keep it but my m3 impact shoots both 25.39 and 33.95 great on the same tune. Looking to get better glass for my two impacts. I might also be open to trading for a couple of good airgun scopes or partial trade for one.

Daystate  Sapphire.25

I absolutely 💯 % enjoy my Wolverine .177 Sapphire Edition!!!

The Wolverine with the adjustable cheek comb fits me like a glove.
Thus I decided to make the Wolverine Sapphire Edition my primary HFT rig and topped it off with a Sightron S-Tac 4-20x50.

EDIT: 2 DEC 24

After going back and forth between the Sapphire and the Redwolf, i decided i prefer the Redwolf because
it’s quieter
more air efficient
higher shot count

But with a Wolfy you have a battery to contend with and it’s slightly heavier.
I found the accuracy between the two air rifles is about the same.
They are both perfect in their own ways.

And

I also Decided to use the same platform in .25 for my EFT rig. Yep, that hurt the wallet. $$$

Well - Imagine my surprise when the brand spanky new .25 Sapphire was shooting all over the place. WTH?

Long story short 🫥

After checking all fitment and adjustment points it turned out the problem was clipping at the moderator😳

Why? hell if i knew so....

I Returned it to AOA who immediately investigated and discovered that the factory had installed a .22 baffle in the .25 moderator.

Easy fix but shame on DayState’s QA.

I will be very happy to get the .25 Sapphire back this week so I can get it re-scoped and put it through the paces 20-100 yards.
Time to get ready for some serious fun at EFT matches.

Sharing this so anyone who is having POI issues can try removing the moderator and see if the problem goes away.

If one QA problem “got out” it’s likely others did as well.

HW/Weihrauch  HW50 .22 Open Sights 50'

I was shooting my scoped TX200HC .22 offhand at the relatively warm indoor range.I was shooting the old NRA 4p gallery 10 bull smallbore target.
My scores with the TX have been averaging from mid 70's to high 80's at best.I obviously need to get tuned up for the spring offhand stages!
On a whim I shot a target ( 2 shots per bull) with the HW50 with irons and the scores were 82 and 86!
may be lucky but I'll say that 50 ain't a bad offhand gun!

Snowpeak  Snowpeak M60B .357

Hi here is some information on my M60B 357 cal
got out today and shot the Snowpeak M60B I set the reg at 175bar the hammer spring 1-1/2 turns in from flush with receiver with 3600psi fill. 20 yards it shot just one hole than moved out at 60 yards shot 1-1/2 for 12 shots With FX 81gr 35 cal pellet. the Airgun is short quite and a decent price the trigger is very good And at this setting its getting 24 shots at around 75-77foot pounds before it goes off the regulator.i know I could probably run it up to 90-100 foot pounds And get one mag but it really shoots well and is quiet at this level. Here is the shot string look at the extreme spread it’s pretty good. This was the first time out with it and I am impressed with the build quality and simplicity so far. Not a powerhouse but I like it

Taipan  Still Enjoying My Taipan! What Have You Been Shooting?

This thing just shoots! No fuss gun. Yeah, the rear cocking is its weakest feature but NOT a deal breaker. This is a robust gun.
It was a cold and clear day out so set up some steel and paintballs at 30ish yards. I shot 20 pellets worth and went inside to warm up. After some coffee I headed back outside. I did the same thing again but this time I had a shooting partner and I captured some action with the phone camera.
Airpower all the way!

N/A  Show us your mancave, boredom inspired airgun permutations

I've had this P-Rod's action in a 1701 tube for awhile, it's been a hoot. But been housebound since Wednesday with a stomach virus, so boredom set in, and this is what I came up with -

1705277819373.png

P-Rod guts in a 1701 tube, slightly modified Buckrail forearm & red dot, Huggett Atom moderator, DFL adaptor.

Getting two full mags in the upper 600's.

Let's see what the rest of the gang has come up with!

EDIT: I again apologise for the crappy cell phone pic, I was bad, Santa didn't bring me a new digital camera. If any member has a good suggestion for an easy to use camera for posting, SteveV is all ears!

Airgun case foam.

Has anyone else wondered where Pyramyd air gets their packing foam they use with pellet shipments? I've cut a few pieces to use on things over the years and it cuts very precise and seems like it would be a much better option than the foam most gun cases come with. As well, you could cut it much easier and have a better fit inside the case IMO..

Taipan  Taipan air tube

Hi,

Wondering whether I should be concerned about this nick on the air tube. Not sure when/how it was caused.

I first noticed it because there was residue (probably ballistol or moisture) around it.

So I wiped it clean with ballitol and put it back in the case. A few weeks later I pulled it out and again there was moisture/residue around it again. Wish I would have taken a picture but I wiped it again. Perhaps caused by some type of heat change around that spot?

PCP Rifle  SOLD SELLING Air Venturi Avenger .22 cal w/500cc Bottle Conversion and Power Plenum - The build that can do it all! PRICE DROP!

As it sits now, I’m at 150ish bar on the reg and getting roughly 45 FPE (shooting JTS 25.39s) by my guesstimate using pellet drop as an indicator (my chrony is not working so I’m not sure how accurate my readings are; I also further substantiated it by the readings other people have gotten after installing their power plenum). Camo wrapped for…well camo and plus it looks cooler. It’s pretty darn accurate at 50 yards (5 shot group pictured below and not even using 25 grains…that was with OLD 21 grain Beeman Kodiaks). It’s not ridiculously heavy…I was able to carry it all day while hunting with no sling. However, I would rather carry something a little less front heavy.

Shot count with it is ridiculous given it’s a 500cc bottle. I have not counted it…but it’s a lot at 45 F.P.E.! It feels like a Dreamline, except it’s cheaper than a dreamline while maintaining same performance.

I have also done modifications to the transfer port (made it bigger). Polished the barrel. Added power plenum + 500cc bottle (fill to 3625 PSI or 250 bar). Please note that although it is currently at 2200 PSI, the rifle is regulated up to 2900 PSI if you decide to push heavier projectiles. I highly recommend sticking to the 25.39s and shooting them faster if you want more power (like 970-990 FPS). If you want to shoot 18.1 grains, I recommend 935 FPS and just back the hammer spring all the way out to see where it’s at.

It has a DONNYFL adapter with the extension to help hold the liner for better harmonics.

I AM including the saber tactical bottle clamp and the standard 180cc tubes. No scope or bipod.

Cost if you were to buy:

Rifle-$350
Doux Hajimoto Power Plenum-$55
Doux Hajimoto Bottle Adapter Conversion-$115
DonnyFL barrel extender + moderator thread-$45
Saber tactical bottle clamp-$70
500cc aluminum bottle-$100
Modifications-costs money if you’re not savvy
—————————————————————————————————
Total: $735+tax+modifications

$500 shipped PP F&F or Zelle + signature required upon delivery
Considering the fact that the Avenge-X bottled models are upwards of $730+ and tax on top, I’d say it’s a pretty fairly price.

Scope tube size, does it matter to you?

With all the different scopes out there today and endless combinations of FFP, SFP and tube sizes ranging from 40MM, 36MM, 34MM, 30MM, and 1.0". Which scope tube size do you prefer most for your air rifles?

The biggest I've had is a 34MM TRACT and as nice as it was it's too big for my taste or need. Maybe on a 1K yard PB it would be OK. But I've mainly bought 30MM and 1.0" scopes in the past,
and still have a 1.0" Sightron 4-16X42 and it's great scope. But I think I prefer the 30MM tube scopes the best, currently have two, a Athlon and a SWFA SS.

I'm thinking I'll add another 30MM scope in the near future and that should hold me for awhile.

What's your favorite scope tube size and power combination?
