Keeping an eye out for squirrels

Well, this squirrel is anyways.

She was hanging at the feeder this morning, and my snake needs to eat, so what ya gunna do right?

I grabbed the 25 carbine and popped put of the side door of my garage, and gave her a body shot with a polymag. Hit front left leg, and she did a flip and then ran up the tree. I seen her curl up and look like she would fall, then she continued up and hid in a nook of a branch.

Crap, I didn't wanna work hard this morning! Get my boots and jacket, walk out into the rain and luckily she was up out of the crotch of the tree and I could get a good shot. She was still alive, but I could see the blood running down the tree. Strong girl.

I sent her another early Christmas gift, this time right behind the left eye and heard the pellet smack the tree branch after the pass thru.

Those polymags sure do increase head pressure! Deformed her skull from the expansion of the pellet.

Both shots, 15 yard At 790 fps muzzle.

Mr. 🐍 will be happy!

I only shoot JSB Match Diabolo Exact King 25.39gr. Nothing fancy. This rifle can handle slugs but I never tried. I'm very happy with those Kings ammo. They are cheap and very accurate. I can hit things at 100 yards and possibly more. I tend to shoot 25-50 yards only.

Asking for a very firm $1400 for the entire package. Local pickup is fantastic and willing to drive halfway.
I've posted this on other forums too.

Thanks for looking.

Best to email me at [email protected] and I'll exchange phone numbers so we can talk or text.

Dive Shop Experience

Took a new scuba tank to the dive shop and I wasn't expecting such drama about the act
Dude said he needed to visually inspect the tank before filling. I told him I wasn't using it for life support/diving just filling an airgun. Then dude went on about how that didn't matter, it's something that needed to be done according to DOT rules and regs for transporting the bottle in my truck after I left...He went on about other government rules and laws, and regs and I kinda just glossed over and replied, "Well, you would know what's required!"
I was told initially it would be ready end of the day. It was 9am at this point and would require another 30mile trip. I said, "It's the middle of Illinois in December, didn't know there would be such of backlog of tanks being filled?" Then dude says it would be 20 minutes. (What a yo-yo)

When it was done, the charge was $25 and only 2700psi because dude said it would need to sit and cool to top it off to 3000. I don't know anything about that, but I wouldn't think another 300psi would matter. Anyhoo. I believe I'll be getting the VEVOR $170 amazon 4500psi compressor...too much nonsense, time, fuel cost to mess with the SCUBA tank and then I have to hand pump the 500psi to full 3000psi anyway.

Thoughts?

How quiet is it really?

First off let me begin by saying that I have absolutely no interest in making money on social media I do just fine with my regular job. Although I enjoy watching and making dumb videos, I think of it as a learning platform for myself and others as long as we are being straight up honest. But with that said I did make this dumb video after a friend told me "I have you beat in my setup" Don't like or subscribe to the channel unless you just feel like it that's not what this is about. This is about your opinion on a very controversial subject.
Are air guns really that backyard friendly. Mainly because of the noise and that is the focus of the video how quiet is it really? It goes without saying that a powder gun should dominate an air gun across the board except in one department and that's the noise department.

Questions from me to you
1. Should I actually rent a high quality Decibel meter. I don't believe that there was enough difference in the sound both guns made to make a real difference
2. Should we have a rematch after some changes
3. What changes would you make if it was you were going to take on the challenge

N/A  Hey Buddy, can you loan me a dime?

Came up with a brain wave today. Not going to win a Noble prize. Been redrilling my plate targets, when taking down I noticed a dime on the ground. I’ve lost a load of dimes you use to compare in photos. I found some barrel shaped Earth magnets in my shop. Drilled an under size hole somewhere by targets, and tapped the magnet in keeping it 1/16th above surface. I put near paper targets. Or you could epoxy the magnet on.
IMG_7557.jpeg
IMG_7558.jpeg
Easy to grab. And always there, hopefully. Don’t know how many times the dime was gone.
Just thought of this and did it today. Going to put a few more up. Thought I would share. Crow

So now that Huben has a pistol and a Pup,

Would you be interested if they came out with a 15"-17" Carbine with the option of a wood stock and a tactical folding stock ?

Not a Pup fan so I sure would be.

Issue with my refilling from my 6.8l 4500psi CF tank

The other day I was out shooting my rifle. Which was the FX impact M3 and when my pressure got low, I hooked up my CF tank to refill the pressure at 190 bar and I slowly opened the valve to repressurize the bottle on the gun, but it would only pressurize to about 260 bar with the valve completely open it wouldn't go all the way to 300 bar. This happened twice to Me. The temperature outside was about 45degrees Fahrenheit, so it was quite cold. But I'm quite new to ant issues and resolving them with a CF tank. Has this happened to anyone else? Could it be the temperature outside was affecting airflow? Maybe the valve I have ? Which is the IORMAN one off of amazon with the red valve handle. Any help would be awesome!

If you could design the perfect pcp, what would it Consist of?

We all have serched for the perfect pcp. One thats powerful, accurate, gets alot of shots. Is reliable easy to work on. All these things. But if you could make your own, what would it look like?

Mine would start with a Raw hm1000x style block. With a large plenum 100cc, 700cc air tank. I would use the dawson Ceramic ball bearing style trigger. I would use a solid bull barrel say 20mm OD maybe a lilja. For the stock a GRS with a 3 inch forend for benchrest. Weaver base for the scope. For the regulator id go with Huma. For materials titanium and 7075 aluminum.

New homemade Benchrest Rifle Rack

Hello everyone,

I decided to build a Benchrest Rifle Rack that would accept any PCP rifle for more accurate target shooting. I wanted it heavy to be super stable but not too heavy so it can be portable. It needed to offer precise “Windage” adjustment and “Elevation” adjustment to make it easy and fast to acquire a bullseye and move to the next bullseye. I also wanted the Trigger area free and clear for easy access and the Butt of the rifle expose to be able for me to shoulder. The photos below show what I was able to complete and very happy with the way it turned out. I shot a few practice targets this afternoon and it is so much better than what I have been using and a whole lot more accurate.

FX  My FX rifles good news and bad news

In my pcp collection that includes FX, Air Arms, Daystate, RAW, Kalibrgun, Weihrauch, and Brocock air rifles, my FX air rifles are among the smoothest, most accurate, most ergonomic, and powerful. They are an absolute joy to shoot and I have no regrets.

The bad news, they require absolutely the most maintenance. Within the last year, I have purchased a .22 Panthera 700mm, a .22 Impact MK3 600mm, and a .25 King.

The old .25 FX Royale in my collection is superbly accurate and has only been resealed once in all of the years of service.

The Panthera was back to FX 3 times within the first three months of ownership before they were successful in stopping the leak off situation that occurred between shooting sessions.

Me new King and Impact are virtually new and both are now leaking off. I have not developed the knack of successfully finding the leaks, and they are still under warranty, so they will both probably be going back to the very reputable dealers for repair in the coming weeks.

None of the other rifles in my collection show the propensity for so many leak issues, but I enjoy the FX rifles so much that I tolerate this, and have just come to accept it and expect it as part of owning them.

This is not a complaint post, just letting those contemplating such purchases to be prepared to have some patience.

Thank you for the love and support

Hello everyone and happy holidays.

I'll keep this short and sweet... My family and I are struggling with the loss of my son Cooper. The outpouring of love and support from friends, family and community has been absolutely amazing.

Today I received a package from Dave Larson, who I barely know and have never met in person. My son Alex, wife Nichole and I opened it together and cried when we saw what was inside, absolutely lovely! The airgun community has been so wonderful, we will never forget the love and support from so many of you who we are lucky to have as friends.

Thank you Dave! These are truly beautiful and will be cherished forever!❤️

I thought she was dead

I spooked her off the feeder and she ran under my cedar trees but she left a small opening where I could still see it's shoulder. So I took the shot and went to retrieve it and this is what I found. It didn't appear to be breathing and I even poked it with suppressor no movement ! I then decided to get my grabbers instead of trying to work my way into it. I came back about three minutes later an it was GONE ! WTH after a few minutes of searching I did recover her about twenty feet away. It appeared I had walked just past it in the OPEN LOL the second time I went back.
