FX  Lock this thread please- Discussed with Fredrik, there is no evidence of POI shift in FX barrel liner system

I had a chance to talk to Mr. Fredrik while I congratulated him on new product line.

On a side note I mentioned that I understand that the issue of POI shift in FX liner system as we read on forums will now be fixed as FX now installs the liner either inside the cylinder or inside the plenum. This will help avoid the affects of undue external factors causing POI shift.

Fredrik very kindly advised that in fact when we examine the perceived issues of POI shift, there is no such evidence.

I understand that when a lot of customers purchase a certain product, the ratio of good and bad experiences remains same but the instances increase a lot.

Then again the happy users do not come to forums to complain but the dissatisfied users come to forums to speak.

Hence we see negative posts. This is like exception reporting during an audit.

The main advice of Fredrik about such POI shift is that we should clean the barrel as it changes POI.

He explains that the POI shifts only due to dirty barrel.

I share it as I feel it will be helpful for the users.

Happy shooting.

Regards,

Bhaur

How do you clean your scope lens?

I do everything I can to keep my scope lenses clean, but eventually they have to be cleaned.

Although I have heard that some/many throw away the lint free cloth that comes with most scopes, I have found them to be very good.

I don't like to use any solvents to clean my scope lenses for fear that will remove the coating(s). I also like the lint free clothes that come with the scopes because they don't tend to scratch the lenses. Sometimes I just breathe on the lens and wipe, just like you would if you wear glasses.

However, I may be doing it all wrong and would like to hear what you do? Do you use solvents, alcohol, etc? What is bad for the lens coatings? Etc...

Thanks!

All my best!

Kerry

FX  FX Impact M3 .177 - shooting high...?

Hi all,

I searched but couldn't find much... so have to ask this stupid question.

I've just gotten myself a FX Impact M3, 600mm barrel in .177.
Leapers UTG Pro Low scopes have been fitted holding an Athlon Heras SRP.

My question is... at 15m it's shooting 100mm high... at 25m it's shooting 200m high. (and the scope is maxed out in regards to winding down).

How would I fix this? The adjust able FX scope mounts? Another solution?

I've never encountered this before and am at a bit of a loss.

Thanks in Advance!

PCP Rifle  NLA Beeman 2027/2028 carbine stock One of a Kind

Anyone interested in the stock I just finished? Nothing wrong with it, I just changed gears and used my scrap 1358 bullpup parts and made the 2028 into a minipup. So the stock is up for grabs. Drop in plug and play.

Makes it a nice carbine setup.

$100 shipped and maybe trade for something.

This is for the stock only, gun and scope not included.

PayPal or CashApp. CONUS only.

Sheridan  Sheridan silver streak values ?

Back in mid 70’s I loved my blue streak and lost a friend there. One of our gun club members was selling a silver streak, no one was interested in a pellet gun or even had a clue what it was. It’s in exceptional condition, nice wood hold air,no leaks. 650fps,8 pumps off chronograph. S/N 180502. Last of the Sheridan built ? It’s not a C series. I payed $125 and having fun. Any ideas ?

Drop #1

HW/Weihrauch  Black on White

What a smorgasbord. Temps. mid 30’s and snowing constantly. 5 black rifles, 3 makers.
IMG_7789.jpeg
First up Hadson 130 .30 cal. This is a young man’s gun, and that’s not me.
IMG_7782.jpeg
Started shooting at this can which filled with water and froze. IMG_7784.jpegThe 130 decimated it. I tried hitting the rim and wrapping it around the shot. He’s my try. 😂
IMG_7787.jpeg
Trick shot. Not only did it destroy the can it also destroyed my shoulder.
Finished with the 130 and I jumped on a HW30 .177. Snow with a bit of wind sneaking in.
IMG_7788.jpeg
It was so easy to Jack after the 130 I almost gave it barrel droop the first time I jacked it. Talk about beast and lamb. The 30 was spot on. Even at 47 yds. Easy.
Next up one of the smoothest out of the box, LGU Varmite .22. If there’s a gun I would love to reappear it’s the LGU and LGV. I so thankful I scored this one.
IMG_7790.jpeg
It’s a pleasure to shoot. I have a spring, piston seal and a Rowan trigger for this gem. 🐿️‘s aren’t going to be happy.
Next up and last a HW50 .177 with Vortek. Clean and mean. Great mechanics.
IMG_7792.jpeg
Love the muzzle end by Kirk. Makes the gun, through my eyes.
‘Had 15 rounds left of the .30 cal. Went for it. Feel it now. And so does this can.
IMG_7793.jpeg
Didn’t hit it many times. Don’t have to. Shot 7 rifles today in just other 3 1/2 hrs. Great day. Oh a note. These rifles may be the first candidates for custom stocks. Crow
Any of you get out for a winter shoot? Crow

A day in the finishing room. Blasting and blueing.

well the weather finely broke and warmed to 34* ..yay….
I have been wanting to finish a HW 80 action thats been waiting, I’ll post the build later in the week

I machined the breech to match the chamber.. Something I do to all my builds. I HATE FLAT BREECH BLOCKS. I added screw plugs where the sight screws were. It’s a catch 22 here as you weld them full and get heat transfer stains or you see the fine lines Where the screws are. I choose the later as this is a satin hunting gun.

pics are not in order, fresh out of the last bluing dip, they sit oiled for 1/2 hr. Then lightly wiped. You can already see the nice satin black finish mellowing out..

Then it was off to the blast cabinet. Then on to blueing.. Here are a few during the process.

FWB  FWB SPORT ALERT!

If you ever wanted one, the FWB Sport is now discontinued according to AOA Staff. AOA bought the last ones made, and now that I bought number 6, there are 5 more left. It is in .177 only and was made long after the FWB 124D was made. I have serial number 18866, which was shipped to the original ARH in the spring of 1979. I still have that rifle in primo shape. Motorhead recently rebuilt it with an HO Vortex spring. It shoots like a dream and is better than it ever did. I will test and come back with how the FWB Sport shoots.

PCP Rifle  NLA Taipan Veteran Standard .22

Great shooting .22 std. in very good condition. Very light scratch on left side near the T emblem. Hard to see actually. Comes with two magazines, single shot tray, picatinny rail and a 3d printed magazine holder & cheek rest. Everything in the pictures except scope, rings & bipod. Only modification I've made is adjusted HS down to shoot in the 880's fps. $950 shipped PP, F&F or buyer pays fee.

FX  FX Airguns DRS Pro: How Significant is This Really?

It’s here! The FX DRS Pro! There is gonna be a lot of excitement and discussion around this design approach by FX. Here’s my hot take!

I’ve been waiting MONTHS to give you all my thoughts on this topic as my excitement is gonna be a bit different with my love for the history of shooting innovation. We are witnessing CENTURIES of Airgun innovation coming to life and perfection by FX Airguns in the FX Dynamic and FX DRS designs. Let me explain my backstory….

So there I was…. Knife in hand standing over the biggest buck I’ve ever shot with a crossbow back in October of last year. Blood up to my elbows finishing up field dressing this Deer and my phone rings. It’s Fredrik from FX Sweden and he’s got some cool things to show and discuss.

The second I saw the FX DRS design I immediately knew what this meant from a historical perspective of innovation in the broader shooting sports. Fredrik, Johan, and FX Airguns had perfected what Airgun designers have been trying to do for centuries. Yes… Centuries! This DRS design approach of a fully regulated precision Airgun with an over-the-barrel main air source with plenum under the rifle in what would normally be in the magazine well, bedded in an MDT Chassis, all culminated into an Airgun design our sport has been striving for 100s of years.

history.png
I have seen a few comments about the over-the-barrel main fill source and how it isn't "new" and other companies have done it. If you want to be academically accurate, yes it has been done and has been done since the 18th century. They are missing the point. What FX has done is how they have perfected this approach as well as the use of a plenum where normally the magazine would go. More importantly, this is now commercially available to us shooters through a partnership with MDT who is arguably one of the best and most recognized precision shooting / chassis companies in all of shooting sports.

I'd like to point out that inventors and companies have been striving for an Airgun design that has a familiar manual of arms and ergonomic firearm familiarity for the shooter even before repeating firearms was even a reality. This history dates back to the 18th-century Girardoni air rifle with rear buttstock air reservoir, the 18th-century Edward Bate design with over-the-barrel air reservoir, and the 19th-century Pritchard Ball Reservoir. Notice even back then their inclusion of a somewhat meaningless flint/percussion hammer. Why? Shooter familiarity with a commonly accepted platform. All of these designs were the beginnings of an attempt to build an air rifle that operated and felt like a firearm. FX has masterfully combined these design approaches into one platform with the DRS design concept.

Now with 21st-century modern materials and superior FX Airguns manufacturing capabilities, all of those design concepts have been perfected and rolled into the FX Dynamic and now FX DRS Pro. Airheads we are living in the golden era of airgunning! Enjoy it. I know I am!

What’s your daily job?

This is mine I am currently retired, just trying to live my life to the fullest without causing harm to anyone. Well thinking about it, maybe only to all the iguanas that have the bad luck to pass through my backyard, jajaja😂🤣😁.
