Air Tanks  NLA WTS : 2 PCP bottles

For Sale : 2 bottles with valves. 490cc/.5L
I bought an Air Force Texan LSS , came with 3 bottles. These 2 do not go with my rifle.
Study photos as I do not have any other info. The fittings shown in photo #6762x were on the bottles.
The fitting on left has has the hex bolt cut as they were striped. I wanted to remove them for the photos.
I spoke with AirForce rifles. They said the bottle with FK prefix is one of theirs. Both bottles look similar to me.

$100 plus $15 postage.

Diana  Let's see your Giss guns.

First, i've never been much for 10m shooting and i have a couple of built up 1377s that suit my short range needs. But i have a new found respect for these giss guns. They are just easy to hit the mark.
To windy here today to get outside and the longest i can get in the house is 13 yds. It seems to really like the sigair match pellets. With these target sights i'm starting to find my groove, it was a struggle at first.
Being this is the only giss gun i have ever shot, i don't know if they all compare to this or not? Love to see some other examples of what's out there.
The fellow that i got the 333 from also had a 75 for sale but the price was up there imo. I'm now looking at the pistol variations, who knows.

Rockchucks a story

Rockchuck Hunting on the Columbia River.

In a secluded part of the Columbia River, where basalt cliffs tower above, the river as it flows its way to the Pacific. leaving my truck, I embarked on a solitary adventure. Armed with my 105X 25 pellet rifle, I sought out elusive prey: the yellow-bellied marmots, known as rockchucks in this part of the world.
The sun was still low in the sky, casting long shadows across the canyon walls. The air smelled of sagebrush, and the distant flow of the river provided a soothing backdrop to my pursuit. Rockchucks are no ordinary critters, they inhabit desolate expanses, challenging even the most seasoned hunter. Unlike the hyper pace of ground squirrel or a rabbit rockchucks offered a different kind of thrill.
Why did I choose the rockchucks as my quarry? Perhaps it was the beauty of the country itself—the desolate beauty of eastern Washington foothills. The canyons with its solitude, the wind-swept canyon stretched as far as the eye could see. Rockchucks, with their yellow bellies and stout frames, blended perfectly into this rugged landscape.
As I crept along the basalt cliffs and rip rap, my eyes scanned for movement. Rockchucks are great at concealment, their fur blending with the rocky terrain. Spotting one was like finding a nugget of gold. My reward for patience and observation. And when I did spot him. I stopped motionless. The rifle nestled against my shoulder, I took aim.
The shots pop had a slight echo through the canyon, and the rockchuck tumbled. Its orange-brown fur contrasted sharply against the gray rocks. But this was not mere target practice; it was my communion with nature. Each successful shot this day felt like a tribute to the wilderness and appreciation to the forces that shaped this land over the eons.
I would sit on a warmed boulder, watching the river below. The current flowed relentlessly, carving its way through the basalt layers, heading its way to the Pacific ocean In those moments, I felt connected to the land, to the river, and to the animals that called this place home. I felt at peace.

N/A  Least problematic air rifle brand for newbies

I was thinking this would be a good thread for newbies who want to jump into the world of PCP rifles. Recommendations should be from personal experience and divided into 3 categories. Low power/plinkers/hunters/target, Medium power/hunters/target and High power/hunters/target/competition. Some rifles may occupy more than one category.

Low Power:
Air Arms S510 .22cal
Weihrauch HW 110 .177cal
Daystate Red Wolf .177

Medium Power:
Air Arms S510 .22cal + .25cal
Daystate Red Wolf .177
Daystate Red Wolf HP .22cal
Airforce Condor .22cal
FX Crown MK2 .25cal

High Power:
Daystate Red Wolf HP .22cal
FX Crown MK2 .25cal
FX Impact MK2 .25cal
BRK Ghost .25cal

Although the Impact can be considered problematic by some, I kept my reg pressure down to 110 bar and never experienced any leaks or issues. The Ghost is a recent acquisition, but I don't anticipate any problems based on others experience. For my use, the only rifle I would not buy again from the above list is the Impact.

Projectiles  NLA .357 155 gr pure lead beermug slugs

20231215_195947.jpg
I still enjoy casting and really take pride in these slugs.

They are 155 gr hollow points. Pure lead. I call them the beer mugs.

They have proven to be extremely accurate in slow twist big bore air rifles like the Benjamin bulldog and the slayer 357.

Everyone I've sent sample packs too says they just STACK , they are good anywhere from 850 fps to 950 fps.

Thread 'Shout out to my buddy, CTAIRGUNNER! (Slayer 357)' https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/shout-out-to-my-buddy-ctairgunner-slayer-357.1310096/

Here is a thread with some results. I have tested these at 60 yards on cantelope and each shot expanded exactly the same, that's CONSISTENCY.

They will be sold in bags of 100, price per 100 slugs is $57.50 shipped.

I do venmo and zelle.

Dealers Should be Ashamed of Themselves, Now with an Edit....

Ok here I go with a "small" rant....

I am in the beginning stages of looking at a new compressor set up.

I have used the YH set up for a few years , modified it with dual filter setup, external water chiller, etc.
I use the living hell out of that set up, rebuilt it 5 times over the years.. I figured I will look into something different this time around, my main bitch with the current set up is how loud it is, and of course the wear and tear...

So in my initial search i have come up with either biting the bullet and buying a Coltri, or Alkin, or going the Tuxing TXEDT032 route...
There is a huge price difference between them, obviously, but there is also a Huge difference in quality as well....

Anyway, the point of the post is my distain for the dealers that selling their own Branded TXEDT032 at a ridiculous price...
Knowing what Amazon's bare bones profit margin numbers are and what they currently have the compressor listed at shines a HUGE spotlight on just how bad these other dealers are tearing our heads off and to be honest I am just about sick of it....

Here is the direct comparison (I Hope I don't get banned for posting them up)

Ok here is the Edit
InBold Yellow..
Since Amazon is so hated here, lets go direct to the source of Tuxing
Tuxing Direct €672.43 = $728.58 shipped

The Tuxing TXEDT032 is currently on Amazon for 799.00 shipped
The DFL Bigfoot 1599.00
The Air Venturi (Pyramyd) Kryton 1599.00

Now I'll say again, knowing the amazon bare bones profit margin of 35% that means that the landed cost of this compressor is roughly 520.00-ish..
So how in god's name do these other dealers sleep at night charging 3x for their "branded" compressor.....??? I would say probably Very well, In a VERY comfortable bed...
If they are making that kind of margin on other parts and guns I will say I am in the wrong damn business!

Hey I get it, a business is in business to make money, I have owned my own business for 26 years. I can promise you I damn sure would not have made it this long if I was charging these kinds of margins..

The ludicrousness' of all of this is we as consumers continue to spend our hard-earned money on this Ever-increasing, Over-priced hobby, and this is just another example of one such part of the hobby....

Holy Pellets Batman!

Just getting back into ARs after a long detour. My JSB pellets from 8-10 years are labeled $4.50 for 500 count. Now they are $20  I can buy CCI SV and Mini Mags for the price per rounds of many pellets-.07 cents and Aguila for .05/.055 cents a round. Hard to get my mind around a single lead pellet can cost as much as a descent .22lr round:sick: I know there is inflation, and COVID and supply line issues, and wars about the world, but 4X for a lead pellet. .22 rimfire match ammo has gone up of course but not nearly 4X!

evil possum gets hammered

first i had an egg poacher, got that one .. then a few nights later i get several chickens killed, not tore up or eaten, just dead layin around with a few feathers ripped out .. couldnt read it, i assumed it was likely a racoon but it was pretty clean for that, just some wasted birds layin around ... so i 'think' it was this guy, a male, maybe it was getting revenge for his gf getting toasted the other day? saw the chickens as a threat? no idea, we'll stake it out again in a couple days see what we get ..

We all remember the full auto bb gun game where you punch out the star to win...I assume. Am basically doing the same thing but using a HW30 in 177 to see how many shots to clear the red dot.

Technical Airgun Literature?

New member, pointed this direction from the Reddit forum after asking a question and am excited to participate in this community as well!

I was told this was the most welcoming and knowledgeable group of airgunners, and I hope that you can help with my question!

Is there any literature related to airguns that is faceted towards the technical/ engineering aspects of airgun construction that is regarded as the best on the subject?

Interested in the mechanics of all; multi-pump, single stroke pneumatic, break barrel and pre-charged pneumatic even if it is over several volumes/ authors.

Thank you for all of the knowledge you're willing to share,
Dallas

New to fourm, used to hunt with airgun

Hello. After a couple of years not owning or shooting I'm thinking about shooting again or setting up something for hunting again. I started out shooting my Dad's Gamo CFX 177 in the backyard target shooting as we talked sometimes at 25 yard. I noticed how accurate it was with a cut spring. It was a tack driver with Crosman point at Walmart. My ex-wife bought me a couple Gamo Accu 177 and that's when I sort of got into it more. I gave the Xtra one to my Dad since he lived in the country. Life kind of went on and I moved away.

I've been tinkering with the idea of getting another Gamo Accu 177 (they don't sell brand new anymore) or an imported Gamo CFR Royal 177 (which GamoUSA said I could get calling them). I've also been thinking about a HW50s too. Nothing too powerful or heavy with hunting in mind. I am used to slinging a CFX (cut spring) or Accu 177 on 100 acres and that was my weapon of choice going for a walk in the woods.

I guess I would build one with the same thing in mind: survival, walking in the woods, hunting, and pest control.

Is there a quality air gun book out there that has good pictures, diagrams, and data.

Looking for a good quality air gun book, with quality pictures, diagrams, technical data. If you need to make or find a piece that the parent company no longer makes it's a crap shoot on the size or even where the part might go. I have bought several older guns in the hopes of getting them to work but it appears most companies haven't bothered to keep any records or even pictures of what the gun looked like.
