This is a used ( not new ) has scratches and signs of wear all over but nothing to terrible imho lol. just look at the pics. Functions as it should and holds air. As you can see the older guage near the bottle end in the pic is not accurate so I just used the one on my compressor when filling. If this interest you here are the pics.

Oh joy a new toy

So I had to see what all the hype was about. A lot of people are raving about the new umarex notos. So by chance I just happened to see one in a sporting goods catalog that came with something else I ordered. Well doom on me and having the credit to buy it so I did. I have to say umarex really has a good product with this little thing. I threw a scope on it and did some quick sighting in this evening and the little regulator was consistent between 819 and 821 feet per second. And yes the little rascal is very accurate. So I'm looking forward to breaking this one in quite quickly. And yes I would definitely recommend it it is an absolute fun little gun.

Has anyone glass bedded their action to the stock on a PCP?

Hi guys (and gals)!

Has anyone glass bedded their PCP? What kind of experiences have you had?

I finally glass bedded my Hatsan Flash Wood and I have been really happy with it. Don't know if the accuracy has increased that significantly from the glass bedding or if I have just found the right speed for the pellets to be shot at. Have a look at my journey on the glass bedding on the following vide and give your feedback!

Hope you all enjoy the video.

Anyone try the cheap Chronographs from Ebay and Amazon?

Anyone try these inexpensive chronographs that are $35? I'm not planning on tuning very often. I just need to tune for slugs. I've seen some youtube videos and a few positive post. Just wondering if anyone has compared one to a more expensive chronograph. Are they accurate, and consistant? Looks like there not going to be the most durable for I wont be using it very much. I already have a chosen pellet I just need to figure out what slugs it likes.

Breaking in compressor

So my YH arrived today. I kind of expected it to come with oil but no.
From reading her at AN I'm leaning towards the Seco500.
Manual of course does not mention break in and says 50 hours for first oil change. Sounds like many change their oil the first time at an hour or less run time. What to use for break in oil?
I think I read @12oz for fill (?)

FX Royal 400- Like I needed another airgun.

The AOA used section has been responsible for wearing the numbers off my credit card lately.

I called them morning to ask about the FX Royal 400 FT they have listed on the used section. I said it is confusing me because I can’t find anything about it online with that chassis. Sales guy said yeah, it confused him also and asked I believe the sales manager.

He said yes, there is nothing online about them because they only made ten. 😂

So I either bought a rare rifle or a marketing failure.

Now the wait for the brown truck.

I will have to see when I get it if it has a regulator. If not I will add one. Anyone have any input on it. I see Huma makes a drop in. Alstros makes one the goes between the bottle and frame.

Need help finding shut off valves

Would this work? I have a Hatsan spark compressor and I added a Tuxing large filter to it. The problem is that by the time it fills up the filter to pressure and starts to fill the gun it is close to its max temp so I have to shut it down and wait. I'm thinking to add a shut off valve to both ends of the filter so that I can shut them and keep the filter at pressure while I bleed the line to the gun and compressor so that I can disconnect them. I found a small filter with a built in bleeder that I can put on the line going to the gun to bleed that line and I can bleed the compressor with its built in bleeder but I need two shut off valves, one on each end of the filter. Does anyone know where to find them? I guess it would also be nice to have a gauge that shows the pressure in the filter.

1322 build so far

C10FFB91-99FC-4892-8A30-ACFDEF1093AB.jpeg

i had a 1377 35 years ago so of course i need to make a real slick 1 now except in 22. seems the steal breach is mandatory and the rear sight that cost more than the 1322. the grip and pump handle is super cool , 3d printed grip/foregrip actually feels really nice. mines lefty but they come in righty for you slow guys. i spoke with the master mac1, seems more power only works with a longer barrel. mine is 490 with 13.43 jsb. if i can get same power with less pumps then i will add flat top stuff

1st 2 shots after sight in @ 12 yards

Jeepers Creepers, where'd ya get those “Peepers”?

I love a springer with a peep sight. If you have never tried it, you really should. After all, most springers are not target guns. Not like a PCP. The majority of shooting takes place less than 30 yards. The peep keeps the springer balanced, small and light. Don’t get me wrong, I like scopes also. But enjoy shooting springers with peeps even more so.

Next gun on the list ?

Fun factor... What's the next gun on the list to buy for the fun factor? (All in .22 or .25)
I'm looking at :
Notos $250
Jts Airacuda max $420
Kral punch breaker silent $350
Beeman 1358 underlever $250
Invest $500 into my 1377 (lol jk)

I was looking for something that I didn't necessarily have to bench all the time like my gauntlet. I think I would like the bullpup style. All the above aside from the Airacuda max fit that. The max is in there just because it seems like a great gun for the money and I'd like to get a .25

Backyard friendly is a plus. I do have a .177/.22 Donny tatsu that can be added.

What would you get and why? Thanks for helping me make another bad decision :)

Aim small, miss small

I believe I have identified an issue with my field target shooting. I was at the range today checking my dope since I recently reduced velocity a tiny bit. Nice warm day with no wind.
I was shooting the HW97 at 50 yards, seated and off the knee (WFTF style).

Here are my first 5 shots, checking the clicks and windage. Ignore the high shot, shooter error.
20230309_103131.jpg

I'll take 4 shots touching at 50 yards from a springer any day.

Then I checked the 10 yard clicks. No issues.

Everything looked good with the dope, so I decided to shoot some more 50 yard shots. The standard targets at the club have a little blank circle in the upper middle part of the target that measures about an inch across. So I decided to see how many times I could hit the circle in a row. One. One is how many times.

20230309_103135.jpg

Out of 8 shots, I had one clean shot in the circle. Between these two targets, I didn't get up, change pellets, get religion, lose religion, nothing. No changes. Same grip pressure, same level alignment. I didn't even get interrupted in the middle of shooting by a range master wanting to talk about Biden, motorcycles or the Gamo he used to have that would kill deer at 200 yards (happens more often than you would think).

The only logical conclusion I can come up with is that I apparently can't hit a circle. This explains a lot.

When I paint targets for the next match, I'll be drawing a little cross hair on every paddle. I'll report back after I clean the course at the next match.

Jeff, if you are reading this, I'm not really going to Sharpie a cross hair on every paddle.

Is Jeff gone? Because I am totally going to put a crosshair on every paddle in our target inventory. I'll say it's for the kids or the new shooters or something, but it's not for them. It's for me.

In all honesty, I think what happened is my old nemesis: crosshair fixation. I don't know if this is a real thing that other people struggle with, but I have to remind myself to look at the target not the crosshair. It's easy to focus on the target when I am aiming at the intersection of two fine, red lines. But when looking at a blank white circle (or a bright yellow kill zone), I don't have anything to focus on and my eyes get drawn to the crosshairs. I'm going to put a sticker on top of my turret that has a reticle inside a red circle and slash to try to remind myself to not fall into this trap.

This has been this week's episode of "Why does Scott suck". Join us next week, when we will discuss the merits of switching scopes/pellets/guns the night before a match.

Altaros Booster unit arrived

About an hour ago FedX delivered the Altraros. Boy was I excited! OOPS... unit problem.... pressure setting gauge broken at it's black housing and the clear plastic top with adj. screw, laying in the booster units bottom with white wire pulled from the crimp connector. I've sent them this info.,too soon to hear back from them but I think they will send a new gauge. The unit is nicely fitted. Delivery was fast even thou FedX had "Operational Delay" of two days. More to come.

  • Question
Looking for first pcp

I’m looking to get my first pcp rifle. Wanting to do plinking regularly out to 50 yards with occasional 100 yard days. Some squirrel hunting. Would like to get a .25 cal. Regulated, not picky about cocking mechanism. Not to concerned about how noisy it is but obviously don’t want it sounding like an actual.22 or anything. Really trying to decide between a gauntlet 2 or the avenger. I’m ok learning to work on the rifle as long as it’s things I can do myself. I don’t wanna have to send it off to someone to get work done. I had pretty much decided on the g2 because of the power and tbh I love the way it looks and it has the adjustable cheek piece but I saw a YouTube video by 1 guy pretty much trashing it and it made me nervous about some of the issues he brought up. I’m open to other guns maybe up to the 500 dollar mark. I know I’ll get suggested the maurader but tbh that rifle just don’t do it for me and as silly as it may sound I’m someone that even if it’s a great rifle if I don’t like looking at it I probably ain’t gonna wanna mess with it that much. I plan to by my own compresser to fill the gun so I’m not restricted to options using a hand pump or anything like that. Once I select a gun I’ll start looking at scopes and other attachments. Also I’m wanting to buy new not off the classifieds. I’m sure everyone’s honest sellers and everything but I’ve bought used bows in the past and been dissatisfied with equipment that wasn’t as advertised before. I tried giving as much info as I could sorry for the long post. If I missed anything that needs to be known for a good recommendation just ask :)
