I really have no idea how much of a plenum like 60-110cc is used when firing. I know there are variables like dwell, hs, sub 12 or fac etc but ...I wonder if an airgun is tuned to standard velocities for a given pellet like 18.1 in .22 and going for 900 fps how much of a 110 cc plenum is emptied when fired? It can't be the whole thing on a modest tune and reg setting and having had to fire several shots to empty even smaller plenums made me wonder.

So far I have got it ready for a trip to the range and pinched a scope from another rifle, and I am impressed with the quality and workmanship, more to come once I have had a chance to shoot a few hundred pellets, the only thing that disappoints is the fact that after the initial contact from Skout USA i then replied with questions but never received any more replies, and to add to this I then contacted the Wolfiek group with similar questions last Sunday yet still haven't received any reply, not impressed!

I’ve just bought a GK1 V3-R .22, but unlucky for me it’s a lower powered version because of the stupid UK gun laws, I’m looking for recommendations for lighter weight .22 pellets to work in my pistol, I’ve already tried some JSB RS but had a mag jam within about 20 shots

I really hate to post again as I have gotten so much information from you guys and am sure I look totally incompetent. I received my new Crown last week and love the feel, look, trigger etc. It came with a card from the dealer showing they had fired it and it is shooting 880 fps with 18.1 pellets with both dials set at max. and a reg. pressure of a hair over 100. GREAT, that is very close to what I wanted as far as fps goes. BUT, when I fired it on my crono it is shooting only 830 fps with the 18.1's. The crono is new and I have shot it under two of my other guns and it is in my belief very accurate. SO today I turned the reg up to 125 which dropped my fps from 830 to 780. All readings are with both adjustable dials maxed out. I did turn each of them down independently and it did drop the fps more which indicates to me they are both working properly. My intent in buying this crown was to use it to shoot primarily at 50 to 75 yards and hoped the factory tune would produce a fps around 900. I am not mechanical and want to tune for about that fps and leave it alone as I have other guns for other distances. Now I am going to have to monkey around with it, stock off, etc. which I sure did NOT want to do. So what do I do next?

so… i was curious about something so i decided to turn my regulator up to 18-19 mpa and add 20 clicks from 17 clicks on the power wheel.37 total.
i aimed down range and pulled the trigger. the 33.49 jsb kings in the magazine made a very sharp snap that echoed as it swished in the air.

scared the crap out of me! put the gun away and turn the power wheel back down to the original 17 clicks from 0. now im sitting on the couch hoping nobody starts snooping around. ‍

I've seen squirrels in the yard three times today. First time was brief and I had no chance for a shot. Second time was two squirrels and I lined up on what I thought was one of them but shot a tree instead. It was sitting on the stub of a limb I cut off with it's hair hanging over the edge and it looked like all squirrel to me. After lunch I looked out the dining room window and saw a lump on a limb. Most of these sort of sightings by me are funny shaped parts of the tree but when I put my scope on it I was pretty sure this one was a squirrel. Probably taking a nap. My first shot hit near the middle of the body and unfortunately angled back coming out a rear leg. I should have paid more attention to her body position I guess but it's hard when then are flattened to the tree and you are below them. That woke her up but she did not fall. I shot what I could see at this point which was her head. I hit in front of her eye. Another not good shot. But that dropped her. She was still moving a little when I got to her so I stepped on her head. Certainly not my best shooting but the squirrel died pretty quick and is in the freezer now. 25.5 yards, 6 degree upward angle, P35-177 shooting H&N Baracuda Match 10.6 grain pellets about 880 fps. She weighed 10 ounces on my fish scale and 12.5 on my newer kitchen scale. Little one. This squirrel makes my P35-177 tied with my P35-25 for the most squirrel kills at 18. They both work but the 25 would have killed this one a bit quicker with the same placement. Similar skull shots with it crushed the skull. But the big problem was I did not place the shots well.

I ordered a C3 pump last Friday. Part of the reason to purchase was I saw the "3 to 6 day shipping" with a speedy "delivery-by-if-ordered-now" promise. 6 days went by before they made any movement to ship. A shipping label has been created, but the pump is still not with USPS.
Just a note... if you see delivery dates posted, that might be more marketing than an actual promise. Nope, I'm still not patient with vendors who over promise and under deliver.

I accidentally bought a pricey pcp and need to sell off some stuff to pay for it.

Here we have a little monster FX Maverick in 30Cal with a 500mm Barrel, New STX Superior Standard Liner, FX Pellet Transfer Port. It easily makes 70fpe @ 130Bar with a stock Hammer Weight and Spring. I have it dialed in 850fps with Nielsen 43.8g slugs but would benefit from further testing. I got this as a basket case earlier in the year and it needed a couple seals. I replaced the whole front bottle adapter and front reg with a new FX, and rebuilt the rear reg. The rear reg recently started the dreaded FX 10Bar creep overnight first shot, but the rifle is rock solid and does not leak any air. It has the original plastic piston so might be a good move to install a brass one at some point. The shroud air stripper adapter has been bored out for 30Cal, and the rifle has some handling/tool marks from being taken apart and put back together. I dont have a case for it, and it comes with a pretty new FX Magazine.

I've seen posts that discuss excessive "leading" from certain pellets. How do you recognize excessive leading? And if a particular pellet creates this problem does the barrel type make it better or worse? Barrel type being cut rifling, polygon rifling, pressed rifling (FX barrel inserts), etc. I assume it's mitigated or corrected by cleaning with a good CLP solvent like Ballistol or Otis 085. What about running a dry patch periodically instead of a complete barrel cleaning? Back to the original question - how do you even recognize leading?

Meet Stella. She is the King version with the duel bottles and shot count is off the charts. Stella is very accurate. She will shoot one tiny hole at 50 yards with 32.3 grain Altaro ATP smooth slugs. Does exceptionally well with 18.3 grain jsb's also.. I just received this gun on Tuesday. So I'm limited on different projectile weights. I did get 110 count of the Altoros with the order and I'm amazed at how well they group. I'm very happy with the purchase as you might imagine. Super accurate gun. The optic is a Vector Orion pro Max 3-18-50mm. I used the Medium rings from Vector ( which are very nice indeed.) The scope alignment is perfect. I knew that from the first shot fired. She was a little high but perfectly dead on with windage, A few clicks down and the POI moved straight down in a perfect straight line and within 3 shots it was zero-ed.

I've owned a .22 FX Impact Mark II 700 for several years and just took delivery of a .22 FX Panthera 700 last Friday. Prior to purchasing the Panthera, I read a good number of related posts on this forum and watched YouTube videos until my eyes crossed. Even so, the Panthera has taken some "getting used to" over the past week.

I'm doing some ammo testing now and hope to report on my adventures in the near future.
