My fx m3 and the random trip to home depot

Soo,in my other thread about my fx m3 and the stripped power block hole that made me disgusted and I stopped shooting for a year or so,let me tell you a little story about today.
I was mowing the yard and noticed that a shingle on the roof was in need of repair so I decided I would run to the Home Depot and get me some sealer for the roof to tack the shingle down better.I jumped in the car and off I went, while I was looking for sealer I passed the nuts and bolts isle and I thought to myself wouldn't it be funny if the power block wasn't stripped but rather the socket head bolt was the issue.I used my phone while standing in front of the nuts and bolts cases to find a schematic of the m3 for the bolt size ,m3x8 if I remember correctly and I purchased a 3 pack of them!
I finally got back to the house ,got the m3 back out and guess what?,the new bolt threaded right up without issue!!!
I just sort of stared at it in disbelief, the wife asked me if it fixed it and all I could say was(I DO NOT WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT)!
LOL so here it's been a year or so being upset over something that was actually nothing but a faulty bolt but it had me thinking I screwed up a 2k plus airgun.
The old bolts thread width was narrow compared to the new bolt, like it was a m2 or 2.5 and not a true m3 if that makes any sense? Lol.
I now feel better but at the same time ashamed that I didn't see the issue over a year ago,lol live and learn.

Compressors  SOLD Omega Turbo Charger

SOLD

Up for sale is my Omega Turbo Charger. I’ve slowed down a bit on the Airgun hobby and have way too many compressors (4). So up for sale is the Turbo Charger. Compressor is super heavy but it’s really fast due to its dual cylinder design.
This unit was manufactured in 2021 purchased in 2022 and only has 10 hours of use.

Would love to sell locally in the Dallas TX area but I’m sure some shipping can be arranged.

1300.00 PayPal F&F will seal the deal. If you want it shipped we’ll have to see the shipping charges first.

602-489-8828 for immediate response.

Not cherry picking a single unicorn target

Took my Thomas HPX to the range today to check my zero before tomorrow’s N50 match. The weather forecast for tomorrow is going to be pretty windy so I wanted to zero a heavier pellet. I normally shoot 25.4 MRDs but when it’s windy sometimes I opt for heavier 28 grain Grands. Is shot a few sighters with MRDs and even tried 34 Jumbo’s but my gun certainly doesn’t like those so I went back to Grands. The last bull is 5 Grands @ 50 yards.

FX  Is polishing required? - New Brass FX impact regulator plunger

First time with a leak in my Impact MKII PP 720 so decided to replace the piston while it was apart rather than polish the old delrin one. Got one from cape fear and was expecting the part to be plug and play but doesnt appear to be.

I test fit it. once the face clears the oring it seems to drag (metal on metal) in the reg body. the plastic one is smooth on the barrel at the edge/face. this one is not..
plastic is 4.0mm at the tip brass is 4.02. measured with origincal digital caliper
The issue is noticeable on pictures. small dings on the edge

Not thinking its good to put it in without doing some sanding polishing but concerned about messing up overall diameter or damaging the delrin piece if i try to cleanup the face.

Also, not 100% sure what the sealing surfaces are and if the dings are important.. the barrel will seal on the oring in the reg body and the face will never touch it once installed.

Suggestions and experiences are appreciated.
thanks
Bob

PCP Rifle  SOLD Huben K1, Synthetic Stock, .22 cal, $1,025

*** SOLD***

I have an unusual (and expensive) personal relationship with Huben K1's. I buy them, shoot them, sell them for a loss, miss them, and re-buy them. Lather-Rinse-Repeat.

So I'm at the 'sell at a loss' stage with my current K1, which I bought used off the AGN classifieds. Synthetic stocked model in .22 cal. This is my favorite caliber for the K1's as you can be lazy but still stay on target as the .22 has almost none of the semi-auto muzzle flip as compared to the larger caliber guns.

I never needed to make any reg adjustments on this gun, as it shot fantastic with just changing the power wheel. Best accuracies I found were: +18 clicks gets you 897 fps from 18.13's, and +24 clicks gets you 935 fps with the 25.39's. And if you are a hunter, +18 clicks gave me 921 fps with Hades/Atomic 15.89 hollow points (my notes say "higher ES but excellent (best) accuracy" with this weight pellet).

Gun is in great cosmetic condition and never any issues with it. Comes with fill probe, OEM + 3D printed loading gate (installed), instructions, front sling stud/Pic rail, muzzle thread protector, OEM box and any spare parts I received when I bought it. All shown in the pics.

$1,025 paid via PP F&F, including CONUS shipping.

First "I'll take it" wins.

Thanks,
Tom

Other  Today's pawnshop finds

1000011141.jpg
1000011144.jpg

I hit the three local pawn shops this morning. Here's what I got, cheap at one of them.
A Gamo Varmit and an American Classic. This makes four, I think, of the 1377 style guns I have.
The target pic shows the first three shots I fired with the rifle, without touching the scope.

N/A  Please, some guidance for very accurate/target air rifle + associated hardware. Finances are a concern.

Hello,

I used to shoot long range rifle and competitive action pistol sports but a major health change has made that very difficult.

I’ve been working with some spring pump air pistols that a dear friend gifted me. I’m enjoying that however sitting and standing still and for any significant length of time is very difficult for me. Having to pump each time is trying (not impossible but very limiting).

The participants of this forum have been incredibly kind and helpful in getting the air pistols back in service.

I must admit that I miss the sport of prone rifle shooting very much and I believe that I could practice this in our yard.

My dear friend has offered to make me a safe target and backstop, I've got some spare wood pieces left over from a few years back.

Would you be kind enough to guide me as to a very accurate rifle for under $500 or so (if that exists?).

I would imagine that I could transfer one of my rifle scopes to this new platform.

I would similarly imagine that PCP is the preferred platform but I”m open to suggestions.

Realistically I would be practicing at 50-100 yard distances. I plan on only shooting paper targets for little groups. Not sure which caliber is the most appropriate option.

I don’t own any compressors so I’ll need your help as to which make and model I should consider. Funding is a difficulty for me on a limited and fixed income but I really miss the sport and doing things that keep the brain active. I don’t want to buy something that will fail on me in short order.

thank you.

FX  FX Wildcat BT Leak

Had a small leak in a new Wildcat BT I purchased and finally got time to look more into it. The bottle had completely emptied itself due to the leak so I went to fill it back up and as soon as pressure got back on the bottle, I could hear air coming out of the hole above where the bottle screws in. Any ideas on what could be the cause? Rear reg pressure is holding steady. This is my first air gun so any and all help welcome. Thanks in advance.

N/A  Making an airgun something it was not intended to be

Over the years, I've been asked to get more power, change caliber, change the form, etc., for things in production. It has sometimes been fun and sometimes fairly tedious and frustrating. MOST of this is probably on me when I've "brainstormed around the campfire " with friends. I've been preoccupied with airguns since the late 70s and done a fair share of "upgrading" along the way to the level of accumulating the machine tools and experience to be ABLE to do these things. Some of the "upgrades" were instigated by nothing being available with that attribute and some were just "I've got this airgun... what can I do with it".
Case in point... a friend contacted me about converting a rifle to pistol for FT competition ... which I did and feel it went decently ... THAT project created the interest for me to look at my own collection and see what might be a candidate 😉 So my first attempt was convertingan EVOL 22 to legal comp pistol for FT... Now it's been campaigned a couple of times but is a bit light... While working on that, I noticed that I have a pile of old Red Wolf parts so when a fried offered up a small bottle, decided to make it a reality and set to work to see if it was possible ... the result is this:
20250428_064323.jpg

20250428_064245.jpg

which I campaigned this weekend at ROT somewhat unspectacularly, BUT which was absolutely a joy and was stellar on it's part...
Now, this thread idea was generated by a Wolverine thread earlier and the Wolverine is an absolutely wonderful rifle but has design limitations that I've repeatedly seen criticised because people buy it for what it is, then want to make it something it's not , and whine when it doesn't work out. There are a good number of potential examples of this.
Now there are a good sample of capable people out there that can likely make airguns do what they were not designed to do and I applaud them and enjoy the journey when they choose to share it... I just get somewhat irritated I guess by those that criticize one that doesn't do what THEY WANT, even though it's not designed for it...
So thanks for your attention on my little rant...
Bob

Daystate  Wolverine

Picked up an Wolverine HP R. Well, I can't justify much on this other than the desire to try a Daystate without the electronic wizardry. Blackwolf ... no, I love my wife and I didn't want things going into the divorce arena. I cooked a deal on the Wolverine with her, but not sure I'll meet the contract conditions. The rifle is in shipping transit and hope to take possession this coming week. For the Daystate owners, how does the Wolverine rank in your collection?

Macavity Arms  Maccavity arms or stoeger? what say you!

so there was alot of hype on the Macavity arms rifle last winter and now ...nothing???? has anyone bought one ? looking at the sniper with higher capacity. havent heard much either about the stoeger? looking for a very light hunter thats very light. was considering the pinty.......but too many issues.any recomendation greatly appreciated thanks .
