after trying several different tunes to achieve all the usable speeds with .22 pellets, I’ve disc my new Maverick is keyholing.
I had a feeling something was wrong straight out of the box, even at 25 yards it was shooting all over the place, I’ve tried JSB Heavies, Baracuda 21.4, Baracuda 18’s. I’ve removed the shroud but no different, moderators are not allowed here in Oz so that rules that out.
anyone ever heard of a faulty liner ?

Have owned this for a year or so, it is a fine gun, I just cannot get used to the bull pup configuration. In fact, once it is sold, I intend to buy the same gun withe more conventional stock. In like-new condition, in the original carton, with paperwork and two magazines. Asking 300.00, freight included.

I just purchased fx wildcat mk3 sniper .22...and want to know if u can add a powerkit to it ...and if u can ...do u need to put a heavy liner in...or can u get accuracy ...from the standard liner it comes with......

Can that .22 do 100 meter target rings?
I see one -not so cheap - in Canadian classifieds and tinkering to extend the distance to 100 meters, what my Leshiy2 is not really meant for.
Otherwise I have a .25 Impact tuned for 100 meters, but I have a bigger pile of .22 pellets wannabe shooting longer then 50-70, the 100 is my carrot.

Shot these ten today, recovered six. All shots were sub 25 yards in the hoop house. As you can see it is a very busy environment. Was there last night after rats. Saw some healthy porkers, but my setup wasn’t allowing me any safe shots. Today I setup a new area for those rats, but it means I’m only 13 yards away. All shots with CPHPs and TP on low.

But not with my gun.

I visited my friend Mike N for a day at his place.
Part of that was hanging out and talking about fun gun stuff. We always enjoy each others company and we both needed a break from our hectic routine's.

Another part was upping the velocity on my Thomas HPX named SLUGSURELY for the 42gr slugs I swage, as well as to check for precision at higher speeds.

Then he asked me if I wanted to try a N50 card with his newest iteration of the HPX slugger. Man what a BR rifle, such a laser beam!
It was fairly tricky with the wind that day being 3 or so in the afternoon and 7-11 mph so I thought I would be embarrassed by the end of the card because I'm far from a good BR shooter.
I started shooting sighters and Wow those slugs were going into the 10 once I dialed a few clicks and got a feel on where to hold as I watched the flags. It took me longer than the normal 20 minutes but I pulled off my best score yet! I thought for sure I had a 249 when looking through the scope, which would have still been my highest score shooting slugs to date, but Mike plugged the #11 bull and it barely touched the black line. 250 12x it is!

I put a new wrap on my BP17.
I found it on a different web site than other wraps that I've used. While I didn't measure it, it's much thicker material than American made material (the new one is from Germany). It's also much harder to lay down nicely !
The wrap is actually a nice picture of dirt, rather than dried grass, but this worked well.

So I got my hands on an FX DreamLite .25
Only had 500 pellets through it and it was a GREAT deal.
A good freind had cast some Slugs We came to call Trash Cans as that's what they look like!
We shot a few and I had the FX set to High power. No problem but not great past 20 yards or so.
Here's where I got stupid. We decided to try them with the hollow point out. And maybe turn the power down.
So... I loaded 5 in the magazine and took a shot. Missed the target at 20 yards but I was zeroed at 50 so thought nothing of it.
Adjusted POA 4 more times and got back blow out of the breech on the 5th shot! Uh OH!!!!!!!

Yep. 5 Slugs stacked in the derned barrel!


Have it all taken down but looks like a Drill and extraction tool will need to be made.

Advice for filming pellet wobble please.
I’m not wanting to film slow motion hunting but would like to check spiral wobble for different projectiles on targets.
Options-
I have a Sony A6400 which will do 120fps. Could arrange it ‘through scope’ or besides gun with telephoto lens.
Also could buy a GoPro with 240fps and arrange (3D print) a through scope system (don’t really need a side view system).

Anyway advice please.

Hello. I am brand new here. I am posting because my son has become interested in air rifle shooting. He is in 9th grade and joined the JROTC at his school. Now he is getting involved in the air rifle team. They use the Crosman Challenger .177 air rifles. I would like to get him his own to use, but see that they can be quite expensive. I am just wondering if anyone here might have input on this type of rifle or different brands that are comparable. I can get it reconditioned if needed.
