What is your routine to keep as consistent as possible?

I have a PCP rifle and a hand pump. Obviously velocity starts to change over many shots, so I'm wondering, what is your routine to keep it as consistent as possible? I was thinking of pumping the gun up to it's limit, then use the chronograph to document 50 shots to see where the sweet spot is.

I've not been keeping track and I get sucked in and shoot a bunch then have to take a break to pump back up again...

New STUD mags coming to replace the FX Impact factory mags.

The new STUD magazine which fits the FX Impacts are coming soon.

Below is a quick video showing it being loaded with the Stud Loading System and how it cycles rounds.

These new mags feature smooth class 2RS, roller bearing movement, magnetic lid retention, the ability to feed slugs or pellets up to 12mm in length. Yes, these will feed the large slugs! Coming soon in .177, .22, .25 and .30. We are also working on the .35 and these will be available in a few weeks.

These mags match the new "factory" FX round counts and are compatible with the STUD Loader/Feeder system (not the STUD DTM's however). For those of you that have our DTM's and want a new STUD Mag for them, we will be offering a program for upgrading your DTM to the new versions that will fit these mags. Contact STUD to get more information on this.

These STUD mags were designed to overcome the issues and problems with the FX factory mags. Glass smooth operation, excellent visual on "shots remaining" and finally a lid that is removed and installed without that twisting with your fingers. It works great for those of us with hands that want to operate with gloves or fingers that don't "work" as great as they use to.

These will be priced at roughly the same pricing as the factory mags and should be on our studmagloader.com store this weekend.

700 cc 300 bar buddy bottle/FX AMP regulator

Does anyone know if the OEM amp regulator can handle 300 bar?
I have purchased a 700 cc 300 bar bottle.
I just wondered if the reg will hold up to it.
I don't mind just filling to the normal 250 bar. It will increase my shot count without a doubt.
I'm not really wanting to utilize more than about 135 bar for my.25 barrel and shooting heavy 25 grain.22 pellets.
I have been thinking about tuning for slugs and it appears to require a slightly higher operating pressure for the best stability.
That's really the reason for the larger bottle. It will give a better shot count when shooting the slugs.
As far as tuning for the .22 barrel, 100 bar with the 18 grain pellets allows me around 130-145 shots depending on my hammer spring adjustment.
I have started to understand the slug tuning. Even with the sharp, crisp burst of air. Slugs tend to eat a bit more air than pellets because of the operation pressure. That's really my only reason for getting the 700 bottle.

For Those Looking for a Great New Scope Take a Look at Riton

I would like to suggest Riton. They are a veteran owned business, and they offer a whopping 40% discount to active and retired military and also to law enforcement!

My $409 scope was discounted down to $245.50. I received it this weekend and put it through some tests on my M3 and I absolutely love it! I went with the 1 Conqueror in 6-24x50 FFP with MOA adjustments. The sight picture is vivid and clear. Sighting in was quick and easy and I love the zero stop turrets.

I did have an issue getting the discount from the retailer they ask you to sing up with, but after calling Riton direct I was able to order on the phone after providing proof of my military service. The salesperson was extremely helpful, and the ordering process was painless. The scope arrived 2 days after the purchase date.

I will definitely be buying from them again in the future. I wish I would have jumped up to the next level scope on this order after it dawned on me how much money I was saving!

Here are the quick details on the scope I went with...

The 1 Conquer 6-24×50 is a powerful optic providing features and enhancements at a fraction of the cost. The scope features approximately 67 Minutes of Angle (MOA) of internal elevation adjustment, as well as an integrated throw lever, Riton R3 Zero Stop turrets and a Riton ranging reticle.

PRODUCT FEATURES:

  • Equipped with Riton’s R3 Zero Stop Turrets for Instant and Reliable Return to Zero
  • Integrated Removable Throw Lever
  • 1/4 MOA Windage and Elevation Adjustment
  • Fast-Focus Eyepiece
  • 100% Waterproof, Fog Proof, and Shockproof

What is extra tank for PCP called?

Hello, I'm still bit new to PCP and I don't know the terminology and what type of products exist.

When I go out on hikes, I want to take my Kral NP03 in my backpack, with stock detached, silencer, pellets, etc.. But the hand pump is a bit long and I am hoping there is a some sort of a mini-scuba type of tank that I can refill the gun, but I want it as small as possible, just to fill the air from 100 BAR to 200 BAR, once.

Is there a product like this? And what are some inexpensive options. Also, would it be possible to re-fill that small tank with a hand pump?

Thank you..

Results  2022 N50 Nationals Finals, Raton NM

N50 Nationals are completed. We started on Friday with practice but got chased off for the thunder & lightning. Saturday was spectacular and Sunday was even better. Windy on both days - for pellet most of us held 1/8" outside of the 6 ring!
Me? The bigger they are the harder they fall... Forgot to hang my card. Ha!!

Combined results. Sum of all 3 classes for 18 target cards. Pellet Overall for those that signed up for shooting pellet rifle in all three classes.

Pellet Class. Sum of Saturday & Sunday, for 6 cards total. After those 6 cards - a 1 point separation for the top 2!
12 points separate the top 5. That's ~2-1/2 points per card!

Sportsman Class combines factory air rifle slug and factory 22RF Total of 6 cards. 2 points separate best RF and Pellet rifle. Unfortunately, no factory slug rifle showed up. Pearl came back to beat us again. Keith has been on the N50 leader board for a good while. And Irwin is legendary. Mike is too sexy for his gun and I'm honored getting beat by any of them.

"What IS it with you old guys "?

My wife asked me this morning. She's really surprised at the number 65+ year olds who've gotten into airguns. She spoke with a friend that she'd not been in contact with for a long while. Friend happens to mention that her husband is off on a new obsession with air powered guns! For me, a big part of it was the evolution from guns like the old Crosman 760 pumpers that were never much better than "hit & miss" to guns we have today that can stack pellets at previously unheard of distances. I got into it 5 or 6 years ago & have been obsessed & addicted ever since. One thing, I too have noticed, is the inordinate number of older guys who comprise the forums I've been on. Yeah, it's kind of like a second childhood for sure but there are MANY other reasons & dimensions to the equation. Being 95% retired leaves a lot of idle hours to be filled but that's a very small part for me. Mostly, the deeper I get into this the MORE there is to learn & enjoy. I could probably fill a page here with all the GOOD I've gained by becoming involved but still ask myself "why at this age? Why not when I was younger?" It's a valid question but I can't seem to be able to answer it myself. How 'bout you other old farts?
BTW, I turned 70 this past February but I still move & have the eyesight of a younger man. Thank God for good genes & playing drums for 60 years. (Counteracted all the crap I did to myself when younger & stupider)

The MANY faces of Field Target

Huh :ROFLMAO:

Indeed the faces we get to shoot at are many !! While many FT clubs around the country use solid color face plates ( Black, Blue, White being most common )
We in the SVFTC ... or should I say our target maintenance fellow likes to keep these faces a tad more interesting. Easy to range on with so much texture to get a focus, YET very difficult to see misses on many of them. 10 years of target gathering has our clubs faces being many !!

Are we having fun ... yes we are !!
